Not sure what buildings to use. These feel mismatched. I'm enforcing height restriction to preserve the view of the capitol. The road layout limits large buildings. The theme is very niche... lol help
#I'm trying to build a capitol mall and it feels incredibly difficult...

Nope no no, I don't think that was it... this might be more on track?
ahh.. i was going to say the Vancouver Drill building would fit nicely but you added it.
I really like the layout of the streets
That capitol mall building is in a tight space... The irl one has a lot of space surrounding it... It just doesn't feel in the right place and something else would IMO be better. The capitol doesn't deserve to be on some "island", but rather somewhere surrounded by land.
One side of it you get a view of just a street and then immediately next to the street... The river itself
Otherwise not bad
haha yes I was exploring the workshop and that was one of the last ones I saw. Great asset!
in summary you're saying there isn't adequate lawn for spacing and perspective?
yeeah I don't disagree and I had a lot of trouble deciding where to place this, but in the end I chose this location for a number of reasons. #1 IMO it had to be on the island with the CBD #2 there is a nice view of it from the freeway as you drive in and other spots #3 it's on the river #4 I reserved a park in the capitol mall somewhat in front of it for only greenspace. All that being said I agree and am sad that there is not more space. I'll make up for it behind the capitol 🙂
I mean unless you have suggestions I think this building isn't moving hahaha
errr I could move it back 10-20 feet?
did you plan all that ?
i like the riverside, but more space is always good, personally i always end up needing more
yes, I started by painting and labeling (some of that has changed), then I focused on the highway and transit infrastructure getting to downtown and in downtown, then I planned roads
i like your style, i do pretty much the same, but not as impressive as yours
thank you! 🙂 This is the first time I've actually used this approach and I'm really happy with it so far
almost done with the initial layout myself
send it my way when you're done! Would love to see it
nice. my current city is my 3rd attempt at a fully functional industry, self self sustaining i think planning is key
i got distracted tho, so it's not just a layout anymore hehe
very nice! It definitely takes practice I've realized. I think I'm going to get a mod with larger loans and turn unlimited money off once I have more people and an industry going because I normally like that gamemode but it wasn't feasible at the start lol
nothing wrong with that, though. Always good to take breaks and work on something else
ya, can't layout much then...
exactly... I guess planning roads would work but I never tried that mod
plus I have too much IMT and stuff down already
buildings are important too imo
very
well, will be checking for updates on your city.. very nice!
