I mean, the NCR got caught lacking at Griffith; only right they should get it back in blood next season.
I hope we get to see hanks brain matter in sessaon 2
yeah and nerds get shot in the wasteland
he served in the military and worked in hollywood, and has 200 years in the wasteland. you can’t possibly say he doesn’t have actual knowledge beyond “street smarts”
he understands fundamental weaknesses and exploits of centuries old mechanical combat devices that even the BOS using those devices didn’t know of. that goes beyond street smarts.
That's kind of what I meant by street smarts.
The problem with Intelligence in FO is it doesn't split wisdom and intelligence, but either way, he doesn't have to be smart to do what he does. Just good at survival.
Now, ability to think on your feet and adapt is intelligence... but that doesn't mean he knows much.
So his perception should probably be higher too, I still think 4 intelligence is criminal
there’s no way he has the same knowledge basis or inherent aptitude as Maximus
He definitely is a big smarter generally speaking than max
Cooper little bro'ing those BoS jerks was cool, ngl.
Dude mowed through 'em like a proper Fallout protag.
Sorry @cobalt parcel no memes
I should start watching some Tim cain

If the video is a meme it’s not allowed, not sure on the confusion there. Just no memes
Because it's the franchises creator lmfao
I think the Strength 4 comes from Lucy participating in literally all of her vaults sports activities (so she is strong but when it comes to an actual fight thats when she falters a bit), but the Ghoul relies more on quick draw and outsmarting his opponents so he doesnt have to rely on his actual body strength as much (which is why his Strength is 5)
Idk maybe Im wrong but thats what I think
You think the ghoul chould have meet nate
Maybe
Whoever is watching on their own prime account and go on the website (I dont think you can do this on the tv?) and not like on their parents account on tv or whatever, make sure you go to extras and watch the 3 vault tec mini videos. They're hilarious
Thanks for that I only watched the show and didn't bother with anything else
They're so neat! Apparently the first 2 were there since launch which I never noticed, and they added a third one today or last night
There's also an interactive vault 33 page since launch where a terminal said it was in maintenance mode with a 6 day countdown, then it started saying it was rebuilding the database after the 6 days and it's at 30%
What are they planning nuclar launch codes?

Dangit, who let Vault-Tec have access to dimensional travel?
You know what honestly why hasn't Vault-Tec had any post-war influence and involvement until now since they literally were making the vaults to save people through the war?
Waiting out experiments probably
I mean there was kinda Vault 0
Enclave getting washed 3 times, and also the 31 ppl were waiting a few more years after 2296
They were waiting for the enclave but vault tec were just pawns
Don't know what vault tec was waiting for but if you believe bud then they were waiting till everyone on the surface was dead
Which would have made things even worse because humanity does not simply die out
And if vault tec didn't wait at all they would have succeeded by now but by waiting they gave new civilizations more time to grow and become stronger
But that was man made
Time does not simply kill off humanity
I think vault 31 is packed for 1000 years worth of gene development
the amount of executives they have packed away is insane
although the timing of the thing is a bit off. we are 219 years in but there’s only been a handful of 31’s released. between two vaults that would be 4 generations of overseers, but vault 33 has 3 vault 31’ers in play at once. Doesn’t make sense to me
even if we assume the OG overseers never got frozen and were vault tec moles, that doesn’t account for the generational difference if they’re seemingly letting people out every 20 or so years (for vault 33 to currently have had 3 31ers currently alive and active)
Probably to prohibit any of them growing a conscience
wym?
I’m just saying if we have 3 of them active in 33 then the rate at which Bud is de-icing them makes zero sense
and how the fuck would Hank or Betty or even Steph not know of 32 being compromised for 2+ years. Bud 100% would’ve known about 32ers trying to break into 31 and killing themselves.
I feel like there’s an insane amount of details in the 31-32-33 relationship that are majorly glossed over as if they are hoping viewers will just ignore massive plot holes
So they don't panic and try to pull the plug
If only the overseer is from 31 and they become compromised, the entire experiment goes bust
But we know it isn’t just the overseer from 31 at any given time
since there’s 3 active 31ers at the time of Lucy’s wedding
Why I said if 💀
right but there’s no reason to theorize anything, we have the scenario right in front of us
unless Bud is only injecting 31er’s if the current gene pool is getting off base
that would be the only thing I see as to why there’s barely been anyone released over 219 years
it wouldn’t be too hard to have seperate databases for non-31 overseer’s and 31 overseer’s in the terminals
my guess is so the vault 31 dwellers wouldnt be really fish out of water when they become overseer
Ye otherwise their sudden appearance and election would be odd
guess as to what
idk how you guys are missing what I’m saying
219 years have gone by
there’s was like EIGHT people used in 31
that in no way covers the time gap
reelections?
there are 3 people at various life stages currently in 33
and they would’ve needed to account for 32
you cannot possibly span vaults 32 and 33 for 219 years on 8 people
how does nobody get this
it’s an absolutely massive plot hole even if you account for the original overseers not being frozen at all the first frozen 31 plants coming in around the year 20 mark
i think those 8 people are from vault 33
or well got elected in vault 33
plus most of these people get relelected
I wonder if any of the names shown from Vault 31 will be in S2 or if theyre just random names/names of people from production
I didnt really get a good look at them so Im not sure
one of the elected guy we do meet
Fr? Which one
george yaffe i think
hes the dude that talks to cooper when he gets his picture taken
Oh my good eye I forgot that man existed 💀
(no one tell bro)
Is it? The last we see of them in NV they are being beaten by dudes wearing 200 year old football gear and carrying lacrosse sticks. the ncr has rifles and vertibirds as you point out and still cannot stop the onslaught. it makes sense they couldnt really hold anything. thats what the lore tells you
Because they're ultra cultists
The legion will fight down to the last child, it makes it difficult
plus it's a guerrilla war
Especially when they're crucifying any of your men they capture and it freaks out the farm boys that shipped out last week
Basically vietnam
the pitched battle they did have, the Legion lost so you know
rant btw
I'm so jaded by Bathesda essentially resetting the West Coast by deleting the NCR and New Vegas.
I want to believe the cope, I want to believe that the NCR is too large to just fall and that it's just Shady Sands that got merc'd. I want to believe that they'll return in full glory when we get Season 2. But seeing the "NCR Remnents" literally wearing random ass gear, with random ass weapons, there being no Boneyard, no Followers of the Apocalypse, no Shi, no nothing, just Brotherhood and Enclave, because Bathesda. New Vegas in complete ruins killed it for me, New Vegas could have been so much, with the right courier, Big MT technology, Independence, etc, New Vegas literally could have been a new NCR-like faction, maybe even more advanced, but no. Because Bathesda has to make Fallout about a wasteland full of dirty people who live in wooden shacks that have dead bodies from 300 years after the apocalypse already ended.
Gotta have the hurr durr Enclave vs Brotherhood of Steel even though both were destroyed in the West Coast. I mean I can accept the Eastern BoS winning in the Commonwealth and coming back home with their airship but, the Enclave in the west is DEAD DEAD, why bring them back? I can accept the Enclave existing elsewhere because no shit it's literally the US Shadow Government, it was always stupid to think they'd only exist in a single military base and on some oil rig in the middle of nowhere, their headquarters sure but that being all there is to them? Nah. But, bringing them back in a place where they are canonically completely and utterly wiped out makes no sense, how would they even get there? or, what? They just have random abandoned apartment buildings the NCR was just too incompetent to find? REALLY? Or maybe they just returned after the NCR fell? But that basically confirms the NCR is dead, which to me is worse than the NCR just being too stupid to find them.
I hate Bathesad and I love/hate this show (it was good until the NCR got off-screened), I hope Season 2 saves it but tbh that's cope. Bathesda clearly just wanted to make the West Coast the same as the East Coast, muhhhhh war never changes!!
Fuck you.
plus wasn't there a line about how Caesar pulled pretty much every legionary in the east for the Second Battle of Hoover Dam? whereas the NCR are just… there
Think so
Like the legion wouldn't get to California, it's something Sallow knows
He wants Vegas purely to make it Rome
Interplay had people living in dirty ass ruins
80 years after the war ended sure, by Fallout 2 we have the NCR, Vault City, the Hub, San Fran, still a little bit dirty nowhere close to Fallout 1 or Fallout 4.
yeah it was all or nothing for Caesar at that point and whatever the ending is, Caesar will die and Lanius is more genocidal maniac than wise ruler so the Legion will fall apart anyway
By New Vegas the NCR was a full on country.
It was fine less than 30 to rebuild lmao
He'd honestly lose interest in the NCR if there was an immediate thing he deemed strong tbf
Caesar just hyped it up to him as a tough fight
And people did start to rebuild, you're talking about Fallout 1 as if people were literally living in wooden shacks, when in Fallout 1 people lived in actual buildings that were clearly built post-war.
Necropolis
I can see Caesar's Legion just barely winning the Second Battle of Hoover Dam and they collapsed within weeks after enduring House's securitrons and the eventual in-fighting which would make the desert-look of Vegas in the ending more sense but still
Likely
Well yeah
It's a dead city and that's it's point is the point.
They can still sweep the dust of the street lmao
It's not like they're pressed for time
They live in the desert?
Also all the people in Necropolis on the outside of the map you're showing here have their brains rotten
which is why they attack you on sight and scream brains.
They're literally all Feral Ghouls
Dw they'll walk it off
todd finished what avellone started
even the "pro ncr" victory has them being to corrupt and useless to actually manage their territory
again they cant be a real country if they are being beaten by redneck football hooligans
clearly chris pratt would be a suitable fit for maxson
Putting aside the interview with Todd Howard, I have to point out that new vegas gave multiple opportunities to screw over the ncr way worse than the show did, like the father Elijah ending, lonesome road nuke ending, Caesars legion Lanius ending, assainating Kimble ending
how is that worse then just the nuking of ncrs capital putting the organization into slight chaos but still existing as multiple states with the opportunity for the capital to rebuild with infinite energy albeit under brotherhood management
i cant think of a good actor for maxson
Like About every faction in fallout has been decimated through bombs, The enclave, Caesars legion, brotherhood of steel, like why should the ncr be exempt from the main themes of fallout?
Just make it Christ Pratt and be done with it
Ok so, like, really out there thought
not Chris Pratt.
Shia Labeouf.
Robb Stark's actor could do it (to steal a reference from the general spoilers thread)
Yeah he probably could
A actor whose acting as Chris pratts ghoul
Chris Pratt isn't lasting 200 years after it's basically legal to shoot him.

🤔
There is no canon ending to FNV the BoS still exists and we actually got to see the Enclave being decimated and took part in it, it was the climex of Fallout 2 (and 3 I guess), the NCR got offscrened, that is so fucking lame
I wouldn't have a problem with the NCR falling but they went about it in the most lame way I could possibly think of "Yeah they got nuked before the first episode - offscreen"
Also there being no trace of any other society from the West Coast other than the BoS (Which is now confirmed to just be the East Coast BoS) and the Enclave.
Which gives credince to my worry that this really is just bathesda trying to wipe out the West Coast and make it another "Muh war never changes - bos vs enclave" type bullshit.
I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Season 2 reveals that New Vegas was also completely wiped out alongside Caesars legion.
Which, the end credits of Episode 8 pretty much confirm
Realistically, Bethesda at it again, wanted to clean the slate and fuck up 30 years of lore and worldbuilding in favour of desert wooden shacks full of dead bodies and the Brotherhood of Fuckoff against the Cucklave. I REALLY hope I'm wrong, but so far it doesn't feel like it.
Ghoul is cool as fuck
Pretty sure the tunnelers in fnv were supposed to wipe the west coast clean like avellone wanted
Besides, shady sands wasn't even the ncr capital when it got nuked the ncr is still alive just not in LA
man, fuck avellone, that's such a cheap way to nuke worldbuilding, guys, there's literally the entire rest of America + Canada which is part of America + everywhere else on earth. we don't need to literally nuke existing widely loved locations and worldbuilding to make way for new ones.
Also, tunnelers aren't even that big a threat, I don't understand why people treat them like they're literal civilisation enders when a little sunlight blinds them, Vegas is so bright that it would literally be impossible for the Tunnelers to approach them.
Again I hope you're right but I'm doompilled rn
Todd said that it's not the last we see of the NCR
He said himself they are not dead
If 1 losing 1 non capital city marks the ncr for death then they probably deserve it because the ncr has soooo many cities
But what does that mean? Does the NCR still actually exist or are there just remnents like Moldaver's guys?
What about Vault City? The Shi? I know I should wait for Season 2 but something stinks and I'm too blackpilled from the last two Fallout entries to put faith in Bethesda's writing.
I wanna make sure we all remember that shady sands was the idea of the show runners not Todd or Bethesda
Realistically, it doesn't. From a narrative perspective, it doesn't. Which is why I'm afraid of Bethesda making it so it does.
Like it shouldn't at least.
NCR is huge.
The ncr is still alive simply because Todd said its not the last we see of the NCR and so far they only lost shady sands so there's no reason to believe they are dead
I'm betting we see the ncr in s2 out for blood for what was done to their first capital
what's up mossad
Well I guess there's no real point in dwelling on it too much, I hope you're right though.

Pff I'm always right
Yeah beth wants a mad max world where people live in trash shacks in perpetuity
This is what I'm afraid of
Like, this makes sense.
This is logically what should be happening, and we just haven't seen the rest of the West Coast because it's only Season 1.
I also rly dislike the direction bos is going, making them like a feudal order
But uh, this is Bethesda we're talking about.
I have zero faith in them
Also little nitpick but I hate how they made it so Vault-Tec colours actually come from Cooper's custome and his supposedly iconic thumbs up being vault boy's origin.
Vault city was probably retconned too.
Like what you suppose Vault-Tec just didn't hate a logo before Cooper rolled around? or is Vault-Tec a new corporation?
Vault Tec wanted to rebuild the wasteland and they nuked the faction that started rebuilding with their GECK
Also, why does Cooper say he took back Alaska with T-45d when we had a whole ass DLC in Fallout 3 about how they took back Alaska with T-51bs
Right like?
Shouldn't Vault City literally be ideal?
Shady sands was started with a GECK so was VC... why did vault Tec give vaults a GECK if that was never the plan
They could save this if Vault City is working with Vault-Tec
Like again, this is just Season 1, they could easily explain these things in great ways that fit very well in the lore and end up creating a great story.
But I am short of faith in Bethesda.

GECKs were issued to most vaults it seems
they clearly left it open-ended, they could do pretty much anything in season 2
I don't think Shady Sands was built with a GECK just Vault City.
the survivors of the multicultural vault built shady sands with their GECK
really? I didn't know that lol
like, this cope?
reminds me of this kind of talk before the show came out
It's so over
I'm just gonna consider the Fallout TV show to be non-canon
they could do whatever, the writers could just say that moldaver's cult was some splinter anomaly and the real NCR was regrouping in the north. or whatever.
Yeah they could, but I don't have any faith that they will
theyre gonna bring back the NCR even if its just so they can sell ranger funko pops, trust the plan
Flashbacks to the NCR Veteran Ranger bait scene
tbh i like that they showed the armour
I hate it
wow the LAPD armour is found in LA
It was such a massive fuck you to people who liked the NCR
It's literally NCR Ranger armor
which guess what its from the LAPD
Muhhh but in da lore it's the LAPD's Riot Ge-
Yeah because that's definitely what the creators of the show were thinking of when they put a bunch of people in that armor
They were definitely not cucking NCR fans

also LA was apart of the ncr not seeing the armour would be odd
Which is also strange right? Where is the Boneyard? Why is Shady Sands right next to LA?
no idea my guess the show runners wanted it nearby
I just checked imdb to see what the showrunners credits are; one of them has a background in marvel and the other has done comedies
so I guess it's mystery solved
ggs it's literally over
🤷♂️ they'll stick to the formula now that it's clear people like it
I hate Bethesda
Ok cool
You dudes need to acquire the power of simple enjoyment fr
the show was like fo3 for me, I enjoyed the side quests but not the main quest
the governmint, vault 32, the election, vault 4, the organ farm were all good side quests
So much negativity here
So many people are hurt because their precious west coast was touched
I love it lmao
And most of us don't really care too much
Todd Howard personally bought out all the NCR flags to set them on fire
he won't get his hands on mine
i loved it. people whining about the lore sound like that simpsons xylophone joke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYrRqMHQY7o
Always has been, tbf.
There were people arguing about silly stuff against Josh Sawyer when Van Buren was being developed.
Same thing here with Bethesda.
Tbf fallout fans are insane
Like how fallout fans were the reason bethesda had to hire security for the first time
Because they got a lot of death threats
The last piece of media Fallout got before Bethesda bought it was Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (how's the "lore" on that one?)
The last piece of media Fallout got, so far, after Bethesda bought it is an incredibly successful tv adaptation that created a new fan base and skyrocketed interest on every mainline game.
It's not all perfect and I bitched a lot about Fallout 4 too, with it being my least favorite, but I find every game of the series has its flaws and parts where it shines. Still, I like Fallout and I'd rather have it like this than a dead IP left forgotten.
yeah theres plenty of ip i enjoyed when i was a kid thats been left to rot like metal fatigue or interstate 76. glad to see fallout still getting love years later
ok, cool opinion I guess
I'm less concerned about the health of an intellectual property but you do you
daikatana tvshow when
interesting thing the creator of fallout has said the tv show feels like fallout and it was good
Roland barthes was right
The west coast fanboys has ignored that
When the creator has to tell yall to calm the fuck down you know things are problematic
I'm glad it's not most people
War never changes
never forget the children of 32 getting zucced after episode 1 smh
Child actors can't work as long
Huh
Labour laws mean children have a cap on how much they can work
Ya obviously I meant the part about kids getting zucced in v32, I don't remember any kids from v32
32 was dead
So whats the chances Ulysses is trying to track down Lucy to blame her for Shady Sands?
She isn't a courier so she's fine
It'd be really funny if he settled there and it got fucking nuked
Like the exact same shit happens again
She was delivering a package. She's a courier now I guess.
Depends if she knows of seizures luncheon and bear soldiers
She knows the brotherwood of seal
Seizure's legion works on so many levels.
Low intelligence courier accidentally getting things right
I meant 33
after it shows lucy teaching them they’re just fucking gone
Cause child actors are a pain to work with and they're not plot relevant
You'd be basically limiting how much you can shoot that given day
bull bear bull bear
99%
Personally while I really enjoyed the show - the lore thing was and still is gnawing at the back of my head the entire time. I'm worried they're really just about to nuke 30 years of lore.
Oh ya good point
I'm conflicted in regards to the series.
Man had the right idea thinking vault tec had something going on by not letting dogs into the vaults
I like how that was the final straw tbh
So.. Does Mr house was behind all vautls experiments in the mojave?
The amcerian dream family is having like 2 kids and a dog right?
I kind of doubt thay
She looks bad because she took a nuke and survived
I could believe the vault 21 experiment
Even funny that their own survival are just pure luck based
But I think BM doesnt was enough with sierra madre
Pretty sure they have something to do with the "we always have to sacrifise someone of the vault" experiment
That's how they lost there vault to
No.
Vault 21 FOR SURE though lol
That's one thing that just fits perfectly
Everything going to plan until they meet courier six on new vegas
20 years, courier six is still alive for sure
Nah
House wasn't too happy about the vaults considering how much he seemed to dislike the idea
But I do like to think that the experiment in the vault was suggested by mr house lol
"hmm these nosey vault-tecs are persistent, can't just outright reject them can I? Might as well just let them have this funny vault here"
Especially since 21 was frankly a harmless Vault compared to quite a few of the others.
The most harmless test
Vault 21 is just if college aged men created a vault
I just found out that the airship is indeed the prydwin
The ship itself had the name prydwin printed on it
So elder Maxson is on there I’m assuming
Or he's in the capital wasteland
Why would he in Boston tho doesn’t he like to be in the prydwin
Boston is not the capital wasteland🤣
Whoops I accidentally typed Boston
Is the Minutemen or the Brotherhood ending more likely to be canon in 4?
In my mind, I could see the brotherhood ending more likely to have happened, as Nate probably likes the militaristic parts of the brotherhood a lot because of his time in anchorage.
i was yelling at the tv and my bf SEE HE LIKES DOGS HE LOVES HIM BUT HE STABBED ONE BUT MAYBE HE STILL LOVES THEM
Dogs are man's best friends, after all.
Think howard finds his wife and she attacks him for not joining vault tec?
Wouldn't be surprised, that woman's a complete sociopath.
She posted on instagram and replied to a comment calling her a sleeper agent with a shhh emote
I'm running a theory that she backstabs them
What if she's a robot thing now, maybe she's more willing to get experimented on with vault tec enhancements
Barb secretly a coummie tricking amceria into nuking into themselves
I'm here for that twist
Maybe
Made a Video on trying to prove the chinese fired the first bomb
Has EP 8 spoilers with the mention of the meeting so posting it here just in case 🙂
Hey Guys, Stealthmean here, decided id try and do my utmost to prove that even Bethesda has supported Tim Cains claim of china dropping the bombs but also bring appreciation to the TV show for allowing a good healthy discussion over the topic.
Let me know if you noticed anything missing from the video and I'll address what i can.
knowing Bethesda, Minutemen with a RR and BoS co-existance ending
There is a specific ending in the game where all three survive if you activate the evac beacon and destroy the insitute with the MM you also are supposed to be promoted to sentinel but due to a glitch it never happens.
With the radio music being from minutemen radio it could be assumed that as a part of the deal for setting up a chapter the MM are allowed to spread opperations
Just my opinion on it tho
also tooting my own horn here a little but the timeline video kinda got confirmed by todd two days after posting it
Hmmm didnt notice Maximus say Eden when he was talking to the leader in that hut
Hey whats up with Maximus being able to be declared knight by his lesbian buddy
cause if Paladin Dance cant promote me higher than initiate after a legit mission then idk whats going on
if anyone is a BOS know it all just lmk
why would an american commie nuke their own country for chinese commies?
Isn't it in murican commies best interests to resist Chinese onslaught in order to have the ideology of their own in their own country?
i dont mean the whole defector/planted mole scenario*
they are trans male
what, Brotherhood is not so accepting anymore? 😄
I'm surprised they were considering the shit they pulled in the mojave
my guess maxson did a little you be nicer or you dont get support
40% before 40% after either way how could she declare him knight it makes no sense
They were begging and bro thought the loyalty was worth fostering
He explains it in the next scene
well he "killed" the leader of the enemy
so thats why he was claiming he is a kinght now
right but Paladin Danse explains that even a Paladin can only promote someone to Initiate, and that an elder would need to do a Knight promotion
he didnt tho
doesn't matter if they have the Elder's approval i presume
isn't he the one who decides who belongs to what rank?
wasn't he also sitting right next to Dane when coronation happened?
unless all of a sudden the BOS can just democracy someone into knighthood? like the fuck
they were chanting all heil knight maximus with zero evidence of him doing anything crucial
it looks like she died to shrapnel and got a comfy ass seat in a chair
so hail knight maximus
so the charging into oncoming bullets isn’t act of bravery for all of those scribes but existing where the enemy leader dies is an act of bravery?
none of that whole sequence lines up whatsoever
bigger act of bravery killing the leader of the faction
“you killed her” “no” “all heil knight maximus” it’s the most forced plot line ever
Who knew getting a promotion in the BoS was as easy as doming the right person.
he definitely starts to say no I didn’t
hell you get a promotion for killing danse
My main point is PALADIN Danse asserts someone of his standing can only promote people to initiate and yet there’s this magical way to just become knight absent any evidence or superior promoting Maximus? it makes ZERO sense
who is they and what don’t they do
the people
yes they are saying knight but that doesnt mean hes a knight
hell i can call your general doesnt mean your one
Yeah they’re just like ayyy yep he should be one now
IIRC Maximus was called knight to be by them
tho its also worth noting that its possible that in the few years since FO4 the brotherhoods rules have changed in some way
OR the west coast has different rules for promotion then their eastern chapter. most chapters of the BoS followed the tenants but generally ran differently by how their elder wanted things to be run
It seems most likely that they’re just trying to cheer him on and implying something of that magnitude would warrant it
In fallout 4 you can abandon danse for 3 months and then when maxson arrives you become Knight.....for some reason
Being promoted in the BOS makes 0 sense anyway
dane's being a manipulative ass here, but I feel like they were trying to make up for the razor blade incident
probably felt bad that maximus got blamed and be sent to the wasteland as cannon fodder
Shhhhh don’t question it just wear the dope armor
Wdym anymore, when were they ever accepting lol, they separate a gay couple in NV
The eastern bos is might be more open the west coast had to breed and dident aollow outsiders
Yeah Arthur Maxson might appear in the show and he’s pretty inclusive.
Minus the “kill all synths, supermutants, and ghouls” thing.
If he appears I hope he's a skeleton
I just finished the last episode, thought it was really good
That last city is new Vegas right? I haven’t really played much of new Vegas for some reason
Yeah it's new vegas
Is all that vault tec dropping the bombs stuff in the games?
Kind of like a fail safe
If things don't look like they're working in our favor, we fix the odds
Maybe that's what happened
The game was rigged from the start
They didn't have to drop any nukes they just did stuff that made sure they were going to drop no matter what
Vault-Tec was at the very least ready to drop the bombs to guarantee that the experiments could occur.
I have no idea why but how Sinclair looks is bothering me so much
If nobody else did, they would’ve eventually.
this confuses me so much
I still think they dropped at least a few bombs. Maybe not first though.
I mean yeah I get it he looks a bit like house so it’d be a bit confusing
but damn they messed him up
He just looks like a discount house
Which is probably why they made him NOT look like that for the show
If you dident tell me who that was I'd say that was Mr house
Maybe that's his dad
Cuz Sierra Madre Sinclair also had nothing to do with Big MT outside of being their unwitting test subject
I like that idea
The Dad selling his son to be a labrat sounds like something that whould happen in the big mt
I’m sure some people actually could imagine that
Especially if they could become the corporate neo-feudal overlords of the survivors.
Real life corpos destroy the entire world for profits
Dole helped annex Hawaii for pineapples and funded a coup to overthrow Houndoras's government
I find it crazy how people still believe they “retconned New Vegas” LIKE ITS IN THE SHOW 😭
That and Todd came out to say it wasn’t
Its not that they retconned vegas that people fear. Its that Vegas, like the NCR, has amounted to nothing. Thats what has some people worried. The idea that the legacy of the west, civilisation itself, is just gone. That everything from Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas simply didn't matter.
Actually a Knight can promote someone to Initiate. Knight Rhys Sponsored Haylen
But that just means that the ncr should always succeed no matter what happens the ncr can't lose otherwise it means that all of the previous games didn't matter
Which is stupid from a story perspective
True words brother!
people are just overdramatizing shady sands being destroyed as the ncr being gone forever, and we will probably learn more about west coast factions as the show goes on
Don't mislead people - none of that is confirmed, so far the show seams to blatantly be saying Vault-Tec dropped the bombs.
No
wdym no?
Where in the show does it say "Actually we COULD drop it ourselves but we didn't end up doing it"
They literally say "How are you going to gurantee that?" "By dropping the bombs ourselves"
That's the show telling you that Vault-Tec dropped the bombs.
The lore of the series flat out says no, and the show runners have not done anything to show they’re willing to totally rewrite that
They also show you that barb would not willingly let her daughter die by having the bomb without getting her to safety first
^
Tim Cain himself speculated that
It exists to show two things
Vault Tec is evil
Vault Tec had plans to do so if the peace talks succeeded
Companies plan for everything
There was probably a plan for being outbid for vaults
If we don’t physically seeing something happening in the show we can assume lore backs up what actually happened
The ghoul literally has a quote in the show “there’s what people said they did and what they really did”
It just shows they're evil in an easy way tbf
Yes
Which people somehow still misinterpreted
I don't think that is what is being said. The NCR can lose within lore reasons and still exist as a consistent story, rather than just completely writing them out. They aren't just some pip squeak of a settlement or town, they are a very large government and army that owned most of the Western region. To disappear them that quickly doesn't make sense
My biggest issue in the show so far is that they seem to be afraid of having any signs of settlements on the surface. It's all empty large areas with like four characters total
And it looks like the trend might continue with how they've said that turmoil has continued where we previously completed endings.
In my views, I think that House stayed independent and that New Vegas isn't completely demolished. NCR very well could've won the battle of Hoover Dam but had its own conflict with House. I've also been entertaining the thought of the Brotherhood of Steel bombing Shady Sands as they reenter the Western region (hence their immediate presence in Maximus's flashbacks, and is it a confirmed nuke itself? Doesnt seem like anyone would be surviving Shady Sands if so. Probably would add conflict for Maximus to discover the BoS is who ruined his life)
I just can't see it making sense that Hank as a mid level manager would have access/capabilities to nuke a whole settlement and would do so for the reasons stated. But I guess it was a nuke with the ghouls existing
But screw the show if they have New Vegas fully wiped out. Such an interesting setting
New vegas isent wiped out
i still think that the ending slides of the last episode is not what currently is or what happened but a sign of what is to come
Hank bring the NCR back with a taste for blood
All the buildings around it are, and it potentially looks damaged/deserted (hopefully just an easy graphics decision to not put too much detail in since it is dusty/during the day)
Unless they decided to space out the buildings outside New Vegas to make it less condensed per the limitations of the game format
im pretty sure that is exactly what it is
would look weird if goodsprings was actually just right next to Vegas for example
looking at google maps you clearly see that the locations are rather spread out in terms of distance
Obviously not Goodsprings but some immediate locations directly outside the walls
people shouldnt worry so much imo
and if they do end up destroying new vegas then oh it is what it is
Maybe ncr tried annxeing new vegas and they thought back
and i dont expect them to do that
but if it does somehow happen then im not getting angry or anything about it
its fiction i aint wasting energy getting angry about that lol
Fr
Allso Chris avellone wrote 47 things to destroy the west coast in the dlcs
idk if that was gonna be the last of them, maldaver wasnt at all ncr material, i suspect maldaver was leading a very prominent splinter faction? plus maldaver was alive before even the og fallouts or any of this wich means maldaver isnt alighned to anything in the new world, she has old world motivations. i think her being head of the ncr was just for set piece because theyll come back
the NCR was like four different states alighned, i refuse to believe that that terrositic cult was the last remnants of a fully formed army with a democracy wich patrolled four different states while being under gunned
it would be a plot hole even, if maldaver is all thats left of NCR,.the NCR should have its own enclave
I think she was just the leader of an NCR affiliated settlement
It was weird to me how they made her sound so scary though and then they had such a weak force. Not like NCR hasn't had to fight the BoS in the past
And one city getting nuked doesn't strike me as something that'd neuter the NCR military automatically, if anything it should heavily drive recruitment into the army big-time.
my thoughts exactly
its not 1:1 buts its like if someone blew up the white house and the whole country just deteriorated into faction the size of one state
i think this could be the case, im thinking that maldaver leading that chapter of the ncr was just set up so we know vaugley who they are in s2
tbh her force of what is likely ex NCR military personnel did a number on the BOS
If ex NCR military then yeah definitely
For how huge energy is valued (hence the Battle for Hoover Dam) I'm surprised there wasn't more preparation to defend getting cold fusion lol
They also wanted water and food which Hoover provided all three
Also Helios One had solar energy
but guess the main ncr doesnt even know about the cold fusion
if it still exists
and if they did know we would have likely seen a ncr battalion steam rolled everyone
Could use it for another airship
Or liberty prime or something like that
Some big fuck you kind of technology
I can only imagine how glorious it would look on the show if they had liberty prime, loading a MK28 Nuclear bomb into his hand than lobbing it like 5 miles at a target and it gets atomized
that idea sounds amazing, easy to reverse retcon this, fat Gizmo lookalike in the show could be Sinclair Sr., while the New Vegas Vera Keyes simp is the Sinclair Jr.
Spoilers
But okay
You're in the episode 8 chat
I havent finished dead money but ok
It's a decade old
The show just brought in 10000s of new pepole
Infinite power.
So do ghouls need water or not f01 says they do f02 says they don't the show says they do
Ghoul lore is so fucked
Still a decade old
Then they better get their playthroughs over quick because fallout community will spoil everything for u
What fallout NV ending is most likely for the show to display as it's obvious that they're going there?
Personally I think that it's likely to be Siding with the House, next most likely to be Independent because if the NCR was still strong they'd likely have had a larger presence in the first season, and Caesar seems unlikely in general, but with Mr. House they'd have a chance to show more backstory and they've shown him in the show already (though prewar).
it is not so obvious, and it is unlikely the show will canonize any particular ending
It's not legion or yes man
Fair, but for 4 they've done something similar because of the Prydwen, though not just down to one ending, and it'd be hard not to because this takes place a while after the battle of Hoover Dam
Why not Independent Vegas?
Dosent it go into total chaos
Not sure, I'll check the ending slides
Only if the Securitrons Aren't Upgraded
"Part of the Securitron army was diverted to The Strip to keep order. Any chaos on the streets was ended, quickly. Chaos became uncertainty, then acceptance, with minimal loss of life."
Thanks for letting me know
Hmmmm did barb know the transmission was going to something coop might have? She looks pissed briefly before turning on the charm
Maybe she's just pissed that it's bugging out
Like I get pissed at my phone when it starts acting up or being slow for apparently no reason
Or maybe you're right
And maybe that's why they get divorced , her choice not his
it bothered me that the nameplate was written as Rob-Co instead of RobCo
Overall a pretty good series. I was sad Lucy and Maximus didn't return to Vault 33 at the end
Ya that was dumb
I wonder what's even gonna happen with the vault story line
Cuz the water chip is broke so someone will have to go find a new one or something
I forgot about the water chip
Personally I think norm will be sent to find the chip
at first I was thinking they'd just take Vault 32's water chip. I never would've expected they'd fix up the vault and somehow remove all of the rubble and repair the vault door
Yea that was actually kinda dumb it was literally over night too that everything was fixed
How'd they fix the door so fast
I'm assuming it's just a hidden fleet of robots or something
My guess is that the Vault-Tec employees in Vault 31 will all be killed or released at once, and either or both of Vaults 32 and 33 will be in ruins by the end
Tbf the episode actually did show that everything wasn't perfectly fixed like shoddy repainting and blood still on some things
Though Norm was locked in by "Brain-on-a-roomba" who is definitely not planning on letting him out, and the only course of action he has is to starve or go in cryo
Could be a red herring
Maybe he will easily unlock everything by threatening to smash brainbot boy
I bet he'll find a way out
I wonder if Vault 31 has an exit to the surface
I would assume it does
Honestly I doubt that Roombrain would be too upset about dying, he can't sleep or really do anything but drive around the same corridor for the past 200 years, but I don't really know
And it's possible it has its own exit, but from what it looked like at the end of the cryo room there was nothing else past it, and my impression was that the 3 vaults shared the entrance and just put the label of the highest number on it
I think Vault 32 must have a direct connection with 31, too
32 has its own surface entrance somewhere since Rose's Pip-Boy was used to get in by the NCR
I just realized we never found out what happened to 32's dwellers
I mean from what it looked like was they found out what the vault experiment was and then started a descent into anarchy ending in them all killing each other, though it wouldn't be surprising if there's more to it though, not sure they'll touch on it more in S2 though
They're the ones who found out that v31 is management
Also am I the only one who thought that the finger Lucy got stitched on should've at least somewhat changed color as it seemed to be fixed/revitalized by being reconnected to her and if the nerves and stuff started to work again after being dead it should also mean that the dead/ decaying stuff should have eventually been replaced and blood would have returned to it, but it didn't ever seem to change from the green
I was hoping she'd get her original finger back
Yeah, i also thought it would've been kind of funny if she got the ghoul's finger, but I don't think either will end up happening
Also it's kind of odd how everyone's body will just accept another person's organs/body parts while in real life a lot of people would have to take immunosuppressants just so their body doesn't try and kill it, though I'm not sure if that happens for fingers
Lore drift exists
Be a Ghoul then You would know tbh
Takes drugs be a ghoul
I thought they were killed off by vault 31 to ensure that they can't tell vault 33?
Did you finish the series?
Yeah who to said, that the blight wasnt done by vault 31 after vault 32 found out.
or the blight was real and vault 32 found out afterward
Make no sense that hank didnt know that vault 32 was gone.
Yeah, and now the show retconned how they become feral as it used to just be if they got too high a rad dose but now any will turn feral if they don't have their inhaler
It didn't
The drug presumably disperses Radiation still
Cooper was hooked up to radaway
If it did it wouldn't make sense for the same liquid (presumably) to have made the 2nd squire a ghoul, and yeah on his grave there was an IV drip, I'm just saying that it's a detail that hasn't really been seen as a problem in the rest of the series as of yet
It isn't the same
That wasent the same liquid that the ghoul used
I saw it as they have discovered that some sort of Radaway/Radshield/RadX could prevent ghouls on the brink from going feral
I figured Thad had exposure to some sort of FEV or something
The inhaler chould be some super radway
More likely super meth
The way I've seen it is that because ghouls are immune to radiation and it's affects, after they reach a level of ghoulification they don't go past it, and what determines it is how hard they were originally hit; like if you threw something of equal density of water in water, it'd only go down from the initial force into it. Though the more we talk about this and the more views I see opposing it the more im unsure of my view
Maybe there not effected by radiation but there still taking in the radiation slowly rotting them?
Is it even confirmed that Cooper needs it to prevent himself from going feral? Seemed like he suffered from a lot of drug withdrawals. I know there was that one guy, but he was basically heading toward brainrot with his lack of purpose. My other belief was that they needed a constant stimulant to keep their mind fresh
He was asking for the same chem copper was using to stay sane
Ah true. Hmm
One thing I didn't like in the show was pretty much any of the drug related things lol
Possibly but a chunk of ghouls are also healed by radiation and can even be revived by it
True so that cans that theory
Too much radiation makes them go feral
Not necessarily, we've only seen it happen in ferals (I think)
Oh yeah true
I guess that there could be a limit to their immunity, but it feels like the background radiation after 219 years wouldn't be enough to cause problems as quickly as the show depicted
It's possible that it's for another thing unrelated to the radiation to be causing the non ferals to go feral and the inhaler helps to stave off that
Hopefully they'll explain it a bit more in S2
I mean they're eating and drinking irradiated things, walking into ras spots
I see it like smoking. Not everyone will get cancer but the risk increases
That's an interesting way of looking at it
Bud going "the key to the future- no im gonna get it" making me think hes spending 200 years going over his speech and trying to perfect it
a big goober
And other things I'm piecing together after my rewatches
Cooper talking to Bud in vault 4 shooting the commercial, he tells bud that their power armor lost a lot of people their lives with the design flaw and bud basically doesnt care
Makes it super plausible that nobody gave a shit and just left the error and kept replicating the designs
did vault tec drop the bombs in the games?
no
everything is "speculated" but nothing is confirmed, devs have said it was china
Especially because the exact same flaw was in T-60b armor which was made like a decade after, just shows that they were more concerned about profit margins and the US Army couldn't really stop buying them
Yeah a lot of people said it was't believeable to leave flaws if they knew they were there
but they clearely did NOT give a fuck at all
After all, it wouldn't be in Uncle Sam's best interest to not have power armor to go stomp on the Commies.
Yeah, especially with the Chinese development of similar suits they simply had to deal with it and the companies wouldn't fix it because they had no incentive to, it was just cheaper
Evil corpos wanting to save money impossible to imagine
I do find it funny how people think the flaw sticking is bad writing
It makes perfect sense to me
No one said pre-War corps beyond maybe Robco had any long-term planning beyond 'sell sell sell, who cares if what we're selling is crap, dangerous, or both'.
And Bud proves it
These are the same kinda fellas who bought and then mothballed cold fusion tech that would've greatly helped the pre-War resource crisis.
Can't have that, no sir.
Thr flaw just shows they just reused the design of t45 and just gave it better defense
Too much work to change the entire thing, just add shit to it
The flashier and more newsgrabbing, the better.
man this was amazing
the characters arcs
ghoul is my favorite fallout character now
alright gonna drop the screenshots of the conversation so I can understand it better
he literally oversaw the rollout of them knowing they were flawed and he doesnt give two shits
even says "they sure looked great"
says eh wasnt for me, moves right into his new shit very excitedly
its all about the money baby
man cooper was amazing
Mind if I ask how you got such high quality screenshots? When I try to take screenshots on the web browser it’s just black/blank. Some sort of copyright protection thing.
I'll be honest, the stated flaw doesn't make much sense. One moment.
Just had to double check. "Flaw in the welding."
Power armour is cast plate.
If you turn off acceleration on your browser you can
I think it actually does mimick IRL tanks
T-90 is improved from T-72, not the T-80
T-80s are actually better than they should be
You know I would note that the cult like fanatics trying to bring back Shady Sands is weird AF....but then again I really wouldn't be surprised if Fallout Purists did the same exact thing
yea its just a balancing thing in the show so the ghoul could wipe out the bos guys in a cool scene
very clearly a cast piece of steel
like cmon power armor was supposed to be the turning point of the sino american war you're telling me a hand gun can just go straight through the front plate.
shit if he just shot a foot lower he'd actually hit the unarmored section thats there for mobility
What might of been cooler and made more sense would of been if instead he shot the tube or something that he did with Maximus. Or, idk, maybe shot something that overloaded or cut off supply from the fusion core to the armour.
yea
or the visors and blinded them
like shit you're supposed to do with actual armored vehicles if you only have small arms
well yea but you can still crack them
bullet wont go through (unless you hit it multiple times) but you wont see shit
A crack probably wouldn't be be enough to blind them.
It also wouldn't make sense as a flaw that killed many in Anchorage.
But cutting a tube or something similiar would make a lot of sense, given that China's elites were the Dragoons, and they could probably get close enough to do so.
Also, as an aside, the Dragoons are so cool as a concept.
nah that stuff is pretty bad as far as an optics kills goes
thats why i always figured t-51 had such small vision ports
so its a hard target to hit
but yea every type of armored vehicle (which is what fallout 4's rendition of power armor is trying to be which makes sense) has a weak spot but just shooting through the front plate is dumb as hell
its just cartoonishly stupid
Well the gun Cooper uses is a shotgun revolver (MTs255 Obrez) and it looks like he used an AP round on top of it, and the weakness he described is on a connection point where it'd be easier to punch through
gotta love corruption in west tek
Yeah, honestly it feels like every corporation there is corrupt
Like it wouldn't surprise me if there's a reveal that Sunset Sarsaparilla was also corrupt/malicious at this point
... I mean, it is.
Have you seen the list of side effects?
I don't remember it
Frankly, was the pre-War world even worth saving by 2077?
No
Heck, the origin of Sunset Sasparilla none too subtly hints at murder.
I... I mean, compared to the Post-war world, yes.
The people, maybe (they didn't seem too bad); the corporations, no
Ok yeah there's probably not a single good corporation in fallout
thinking of corps makes me think of the fallout 4 intro cinematic
The epic intro to Fallout 4 with the famous line, 'War, War Never Changes'
a short barrel shotgun with a steel slug isn't going through cast steel plates (let alone composite armor which it actually is since it also takes ceramics to repair/upgrade) Yea west tek is a shitty company but army procurement wouldn't let that slide no matter how desperate they were considering that T-51 doesn't have the problem(?) and was already in service
In Fallout's universe they would
Something to remember though is the armors quality likely would have degraded over the years, even in the hands of the brotherhood and may have weakened it in some way, and we can't say for certain what the round is made of (i don't think at least, all of his ammo seems very specialized
i wish we got some sort of pre war rebellion against big corpos
They were starting to
i mean different from holywood forever
Virginia was having workers protesting all over the state
i mean my mod definetly has a pre war rebellion
if it was a pulse slug or something maybe but the ghoul just has random ass handloads on his bandoleer
he looked to have at least a few varieties of things
like that one bullet that said boom
not how metal fatigue works especially if the BoS constantly maintains their stuff
Alright, I'll trust you on that part because simply put i don't know much about metal fatigue
unless its a pulse slug (which it aint it just looks like a steel dart) then we're just grasping for straws and hypotheticals
It's fallout, he could have a magic bean that they say makes humans explode and it would be within reason lol
True
we would just have to say oh ok yeah thats cool
yea but that makes it an incredibly lame deus ex machina

if a fictional setting has fictional rules its gotta follow those fictional rules or else its it loses all meaning
I mean they have broken their own rules before
like how starwars cant decide if lightspeed makes a ship jump through another dimension to fast travel or it just travels quickly through its normal dimesnion
yea and its still shit
Fallout 76 has weapons that make their bullets explode and other various legendary effects, it makes sense to have overpowered weapons/ammo
that final battle with i dont want to see tommorow is amazing
yea and thats because of bethesda's legendary randomizer weapon mechanic they ripped from borderlands 2
that final episode felt like a love letter to the west coast and fallout as a whole
instead of doing the 3 and nv method they just made it arcade-y which doesn't fit the rest of the game
meh now they gotta make a canon ending to nv and explain why the west coast is completely unrecognizable
FOR THE REPUBLIC
they did explain why the west coast is unrecognizable
Avellone got his wish in the form of lucys dad
i.e. i got a legendary 2 shot lever action from a random legendary mirelurk once while on the way to do the far harbor dlc to get the unique named two shot lever action
incredibly goofy that unique legendries can drop randomly
no they said shady sands got nuked
so where is boneyard and the hub and (the real) junktown and whatnot
i feel like more than shady sands got nuked
which is really dumb that they only mention a "former" capital getting nuked but everywhere else no one says shit about anything
4 cities she should have passed completely missing because they retconned shady sands to be just outside of north hollywood or so it seems
Retconned is a very charitable way of putting it. I'd be more willing to bet on ignorance as a probable cause.
@outer lagoon he has main character energy
which is incredibly fucking dumb because that implies not a single writer or producer bothered to look at a map
they were implied to be traveling for days
or they did and willingly changed it (a ret con)
with no food or water?
there was
or any showing of multiple days passing apart from the occasional jump cut to another subplot
maybe they just walked a lot
Implied where?
barely hinted not even a montage or anything
they kinda just drift from one neighborhood to another around the LA region
Nevermind how the region keeps on going from desert ot heavily forested at the drop of a hat.
Would it be very interesting to have watched a bunch of walking shots throughout episodes already an hour long though?
better than the filler shit like watching lucy get maximus shot on a bridge for being a dumbass
who had that theory about this one being the new temp version because the other one got messed up
and yes you can show long passages of time in a short period
would be the easiest gloss over explanation in season 2 to get gamers to chill out
the whole show feels like it takes place in about a week
No, but it would be a necessary part of good story telling. Some landscape shots of her walking, two or three. Thats how you give the illusion of time and distance. In exchange, they could of cut out the entirety of vault 4 (and maybe expanded on Moldaver in process), as that entire segment is utterly pointless, and just serves to bring the narrative to a grinding halt.
You feel like vault 4 is pointless?
it explained nothing
I'm not arguing either side on this one, I'm just saying
did you.. watch it? lol
Did you?
tbh its just another sidequest location
Lucy learns about vault experiments, it explained where the gulpers come from, it serves to help teach maximus more about real people
yes and you learn nothing other than "oh vault 4 had some random expirement (no shit)" and "oh shady got nuked at some unestablished time (which we already knew)"
maximus got a slug pulled out his arm thats about it
it ties in with the scientists we meet earlier who are in the commercial with coop
its a tooth not a slug
ah
lucy learns maybe not all vault people are as perfect as she thought they were, she learns about moledaver being worshipped
You can say you weren't a fan of it but it wasn't pointless
All of which is either unnecessary, or could of been done in a better way. Teach Maximus about real people? Theres an NCR survivor camp. Gulpers? Who cares. Who actually cares where the "Gulpers" came from. Did anyonen care overly much where they came from in Fah habah? Are the Gulpers really that significant so as to take up so much of such little, limited time the series has as to require an origin episode?
Yes the whole episode was about gulpers glad you caught it
well the viewer doesn't learn shit and the characters dont really (maximus spent his childhood in shady sands then went into the wastes so he should know both sides of the coin)
Lucy isn't going to believe off hand that the vaults were meant to experiment on people without seeing it herself
She's too brainwashed
thats why he's willing to kill people but is also mellow mannered (and also never learned sex ed lmao)
Plus, Vault 4's fellas were acting rather sketchy and sus, so what else was Lucy supposed to do? Obediently twiddle her thumbs and play nice?
i actually fairly enjoy maximus's character out of the 3 main ones
It also shows the viewers who aren't gamers that the vaults are actually for experiments
That's so weird because most people like him the least
I honestly dont care about the viewers who arn't gamers.
I can tell!
real
As Dean put it, "Tourists."
Anyway, that episode explains a lot of things and isn't pointless whether you feel it was entertaining or worth the time
i watched it with parents who were clueless and it was an important episode for them
its also important for lucys arc IMO
Seeing the creepy experiments they actually did set up was gross and neat
well amazons whole deal is that they charge for access to films not the films itself so all users are obligated to get their moneys worth being willing to watch anything regardless of how shit it is which is why they put out shitty quality stuff like this and still rake in money
which is why you get shit like the new starwars stuff and the halo tv show etc.
You sound upset
I'll say this Chudge, it did have some good parts. Filly was the highlight of the series though.
prime videos viewers mostly come from people who have amazon prime for amazon itself
thats where me and my parents have prime from
Honestly, yeah I'm kind of upset. I'm not afraid to admit it.The show has left a sour taste in my mouth. I am glad other folks are enjoying it, more power to you. But I cant say I like all of it.
nah its just incredibly ironic how the fallout tv show shits on strawmanned neo liberalism but yet its on amazon
They literally commented on that in an interview actually lol
where was the straw man neo liberalism
Sorry, what?
i mean the whole corporate characters motivations
Vault-tec was always ran by psychos though.
I mean, my only beef with the show is more certain lore deets/developments that I find a touch strange. Otherwise, they nailed the aesthetic and even the style of Fallout fairly well.
thats been in fallout sine fallout 1
they shouldve added a new corpo named called congo international or smhtn in the show as a background detail
Granted, the nuke thing is new, but it sort of... sort of makes sense.
Sort of.
i dont like the shady sands fell (i know thats not the nuke) in 2077 it makes no sesne to me
I wanna know what they said to Todd to get him to agree with it
To Shady sands?
He said he got emotional when they pitched it but they made it make sense to be needed
Yeah
i felt like shady sands was lazy writing till final ep
I probably imagine something along the lines of "Sure Todd, we'll destroy Shady Sands for you."
Congrats on the promotion Dolce!
i didnt even notice
Thank you!
todd finished what avellone started
Pepole like it when avellone does it
nah most people (even FNV) fans dont like that part of avellones writing
The whole conspiracy theory about Todd wanting to destroy stuff is so old and played out. Todd has no reason to lie about that
i actually liked the shady sands thing during the final ep
Honestly, didn't like it when Avellone did it.
He's on his way out of the company, he doesn't need a reason to have alterior motives if he really wants it to go a direction
todd doesnt do the writing anyway IIRC
(anymore)
When has want for a reason ever stopped Todd from lying about anything?
Yeah which is why we don't have a reason to not believe when he says they pitched it to him and he was pretty taken back at it
which there is no critique to be made because they just wrote a bunch of neoliberals deciding that ruling over a bunch of feeble vault dwellers (most of whom they just kill) in a glowing shithole is better than ruling over a wealthy and "function" (with all its class warfare and whatnot) society that they are already ruling.
The most reasonable thing to do is keep low intensity never ending conflicts going to maximize profit, development, and government/corporate overreach
which is what happens in real life
i.e. vietnam, iraq, afghanistan, ukraine, israel
theres a reason why who dropped the nukes was so vague
because actually answering it makes a lot of accusations
And nothing says anywhere they actually did it
which they weren't ballsy enough to actually make so they just made strawmaned chairmen heavily implicate that they did it
bro the overseer straight up doesn't deny/partially admits to nuking shady sands
clearly thats the implication
That't not in question though
it is because thats why theres the whole pre war subplot with howard and his wife
shit mr. house is the most reasonable take of economy/government oligarchy and even he wanted to shield his works from destruction and take humanity to the stars
assuming he's still alive by the events of the tv show
This should go in #fallout_general
Oh whoops my bad didnt see the channel name
Probably cuz they actually have a reverse gear
the ending of episode 8 is really painful to watch, as it means that NCR is practically over.
honestly
i feel like were gonna see more remnants
after SS
They're likley saving ncr for sessaon 2
we do see those guys in ranger gear
I don't really understand why they are so weak though, the fighters at the HQ feel like some ill trained rebels than the trained NCR army
It's just riot gear they chould have just scaved it
either maximus is gonna join the NCR or stay with the brotherhood
i feel like
they kind of were ill trained rebels
That's gonna be his character route and have to struggle between his morals of bos or ncr
Is what I feel like
yeah same
oh, I thought the observatory was kind of the new capital for NCR, since the name on the building says NCR HQ
it is
for that set of remnants
how did all of NCR get splintered though just by nuking Shady Sands? they had large area surrounding under their control right?
you dont see any NCR troops throughout the travel until the end
Shady sands allready fell in 77 so it likley became a low income area as they moved to a different place as there main head quarters
i think the fall of shady sands is some cult thing
and not an actual fall of the city
Something big had to happen in 77 though
i can just ignore how it doesnt make sense if you just say its some wierd thing to do with the cukt
What if that's the year Kimball was elected as president?
even then I expected some NCR troops patrolling other places and wishing for a nuclear winter. it feels as if ncr completely disintegrated after shady sands got nuked
makes sense
I am curious if they explain how Wilzig and Moldavaer survived all these years in the next season
Hopefully
probably cryosleep
yea thats the thing
i can understand the t-45 being shit
but the t-60 having such a vunerability is insane
like imagine in fallout 4 you are in a t-60 and u just get 1 shot
I'm curious more about the Enclave in this world
Because Wilzig seems more like Enclave remnant type
It already happens in my modded games
💀
What I don't understand is how Wilzig escaped easily from the research facility and it didn't looked like it was an Enclave facility, the entire world noticed it directly, even the BoS.
Enclave put a bounty on him
Y'know its funny how an Institute Terminal said that Cold Fusion was impossible and not worth trying when 10 years later some Enclave dummies achieved it
Because the institute are the smartest idiots in the world
The institute are the smartest dumbasses
Real
Bro Father be looking beyond the grave like "Dammit if we would've just done that we didn't need to bother with the nuclear generator"
How did the brain bot of Bud retain his personality?
Well he has no personality outside of his work so
They wipe brains before use so he proabbly dident get his mind wiped
Wasn't wiped
robobrains that aint communists or criminals or literally anything anti government didnt get their brains wiped
or a monkey
i totally forgot about the monkey brains
Not sure why they didn't add any security to vault 31. Only guard is the buds robo brain which can't even shoot lasers like the in game ones do
my guess is bud is really fucking stupid and didnt think anyone would try and get in
Same for the floor 12 of vault 4. That doesn't even have a security door with password. Anyone can use the elevator to get there
Because nobody is supposed to access it
Norms the first person to even try in two centuries
Why the enclave will tell the BoS?
I think because it was originally a scientist vault that had a failed experiment
Because when someone figures out the truth, they make the vault kill each other, wipe everything clean and re-populate it
32 did massacre itself
I meant after the failed incident. They could at least disable the common elevator from reaching 12
They didn't. The enclave placed bounties and the bos figured out he was a defector
So it's still not confirmed that Vault-Tec dropped the bombs, only that they would be willing to do so. Which is still terrible
I only raised this because I saw discussion about how the mystery was finally solved
Isn't Cooper getting divorced at the start? So maybe he wasn't told about the bombs even if vaultech dropped them
His daughter wouldn't of been with him if they did
Yeah that part was interesting. Something big must've happened that hasn't been revealed yet
Had no clue he was looking for his family
Clearly he either confronted his wife, she found the tracking device, or he refused to be a part of her vault
Though I wonder, did the daughter get to go in? Was he rejected? Or is his daughter a ghoul too and taken by his wife (who I doubt would be a ghoul)
Also the more I think about it, the less surprised I would be to find out that NCR won the battle of the Hoover Dam but House fought them to keep NV independent. Wouldn't surprise me if he is the one who nuked Shady Sands
one possible explanation could be Vault tech found the listening device and removed their position in the vault and maybe even fired barb as they saw her as an accomplice
We know how smart are people in the Fallout universe
He said "Where is my Family?" To Hank.
So it's likely his daughter still alive after the nukes went down and was taken by Vault Tec?
I think he wasn't divorced but he stopped working in movies/ads due the disappointment towards his wife
He was divorced
They mention alimony
Movies stopped hiring him due to vault tec affiliation and vault tec presumably black listed him after he quit
@bright badge I thought they stopped hiring him because he went against Vault Tec and was labeled a commie
No people stopped working with him because he was doing stuff for vault tec
Why would that affect anything, Vault Tec isn't seen as commie or against the nation. He is referred to as a commie and mocked for alimony, the implication is that he went against his wife/Vault-Tec and was seen as anti-America because of it. They replaced him with the Vault boy based on his likeness
People dislike it because they're trying to profiteer off of fear mongering the apocalypse
What you mentioned is after the issues he has getting movie roles
OH I missed it
As far I know the year before the bomb fell was very bad as people started shitting in the goverment, mass protesting and so on, It was literally lawless
^
They still work on that floor so kinda pointless
Is it true todd said the show won't canonize any ending of nv/4?
Yes
Source?
Todd Howard
Can u link him saying it please
It's in the pre show interviews
whuch one
Idk, I just remember dudes here talking about it
You're right
Whouldent that mean that ship isent rhe pywren like pepole think it is
I thought they were just saying "things changed since whatever the ending was for New Vegas, so don't be surprised when it doesn't pick up from a Canon ending"
Like obviously some things will be revealed about whether House is alive, NCR's presence, etc. Impossible not to hint at some sort of events with the setting
Also something that I found interest in the post-release interview was they confirmed that it was not a nuke used on Shady Sands and that "this will be a pretty impactful story moment that a lot of things anchor on."
I still am in the camp that Hank didn't personally bomb Shady Sands
They also avoided saying he is the big bad guy and to stay tuned
I think destroying the NCR immediately after the events of New Vegas is very disrespectful to the people who made New Vegas
Ncr isent destoryed
It wasn't a city state
You should know this lmao
yeah so why is it nowhere to be found?
LA was one of the member states
still a ruin in the show
Because they haven't systematically walked everywhere in LA or the west coast looking for them
Hank went to Nevada not anywhere in the NCR, it's not relevant to the main trio
the NCR has like 700,000 people during New Vegas
Cinema is a different medium, only what's necessary is shown
It wasn't necessary to show the NCR fine because it's not relevant to anyone
by that point basically everwhere in California not controlled by the Brotherhood is controlled by the NCR
Everywhere is an overstatement
Irrespective they didn't go to other NCR cities
It's safe to say one city didn't destroy it all though
and I still don't understand why the Enclave is still around
they could have pulled out of the state of LA
what was that last facility at the end before the credits?
NV wasn't it?
Second Battle of Hoover Dam, Purification of water in the capital wasteland
Why wouldn't the entire US's contingency plan have numerous bases?
Even so, they've gotten their butt whooped twice now majorly, had the Oil Rig, Navarro, and Raven Rock destroyed, and been scattered to the dang winds; how many times are we supposed to play Whack-A-Mole with these cockroaches until Bethesda finally calls time on their dang faction?
It seems to be a research base and not a military one
Hahaha lol
||Hey if they imply that the Vault Boy was inspired by Cooper they could do it again. Also Hollywood Sponsered By Nuka Cola gives me hope||
Damn, Lucky Chet lol

You don't need to spoiler tag your message in a spoiler channel
Problem is, she's not an actor, she's one of Buds buds.
I wonder how people from vault 31 get into the other 2 vaults. Like for the exchange between 32 and 33, they had such elaborate gathering but the cannot do so for 31. So just the one person coming to 33/32 just comes alone?
The overseers are both from vault 31 in each vault allwas
Ya, I was just wondering how just one person walking into the vault would look as contrast to the exchange between 33 & 32
well 32 supplies breeders as their main thing, so it might just be that they expect nobody to ever do a big one with 31 because they only supply "new overseers" when needed
so theres no actual exchange since it's told to them thats their purpose
i'd like to know how 32 knew about 31 and would love to see how that all unfolded
I'd like to know how they found out about the secret of 31
I got chills when the lights turned back on. Moldaver went from evil mastermind to a hero in a matter of minutes.
But her story just ends, I wonder what BOS will say about it. I think BOS will try and take the credit
I mean she still did slaughter half the population of an innocent vault to get revenge on one guy
And kept a feral in agony for over a decade
Yeah that's true. Man, I love the way every character is not just one dimensional.
we do see the NCR
there are NCR remnants
moldaver is an NCR remnant
does anybody else find it hilarious that maximus says the bombs dropped after he was born, meaning he's just inferred that the shady sands explosion he remembers as a child was the same explosion/nuking that took out the rest of the world without ever asking anybody
It's not the same nukes that destoryed the world
ik thats why im saying its funny
I mean Maximus is insanely naive due to his upbringing
It is. Its great character writing. That event shaped his entire life so it makes sense referring to a bomb would have him think of this first
Most wastelanders probably couldn't tell you when the bombs dropped tbf
yeah. I would think education in the wasteland is whatever your faction said it is. Tales from the older folks passed down from generation to generation
I think that there was no nuclear war in the other continents now
I think that vault tec just blew up America and lied about what happened in the other country’s
Considering we have post war immigrants i doubt it
considering the DIA Switchboard terminals tell us that the US counterlaunched...
The atmosphere would've been irrevocably fucked either way to the point it wouldn't matter at all
True
Vault tec could’ve have just paid the reds to launch the nukes
Why would that have needed to happen
or...just wait for the inevitable to happen, given the war?
"I want to pay you to breathe air"
turns out that not everything needs to be a conspiracy
sometimes, wars between nuclear powers end in nuclear wars
it just works
Vault Tec are not the ultimate villain in fallout, it's man's propensity for violence
Like it was said in episode 8 they needed funding from investors to do the experiments in the vaults and they wouldn’t have gotten that funding with the nuclear war at that time being a hypothetical
They were already able to experiment on chinese prisoners
that's certainly some of the writing of all time
chinese prisoners
and american prisoners, as per robobrains
You missed the point. The goal is running the US. Not doing experiments
Coopers wife literally said “we will launch the nukes our selves”
Incorrect buzzer
Her daughter wasn't in a vault on the day
And?
They outright say this
Her entire motivation is security for her family
They also outright say they will launch the nukes on there own to guarantee the vault experiments
It invalidates the notion Vault Tec launched first
No to guarantee control over the wasteland
Even in interplays days the experiments were for the enclave to test colony ship conditions
They're not the end goal in anything
saying you'll do something doesn't mean they actually got the chance to do it
If the US sanctions robobrains, they don't care about vault tec experiments
if that is how the plot plays out, the the writing is really missing the point of Fallout
^
Im not saying they launch first they just could’ve either payed the reds or somehow pushed them into doing it
They needed to do neither
I mean I think it’s more to show the us government can’t be trusted
that is literally showing the opposite
The nations are irrelevant
Why include that scene than?
