Aha
I figured
Your IDE and runtime are the wrong versions
The general rule of thumb is to try and keep the IDE and runtime relatively the same
To prevent any issues
In your case
You can just downgrade the runtime version
One of the latest 2024.4* versions should do
File -> Preferences -> Runtime feeds -> Master
Say 2024.400.0.571
Question, did you install all (or most) of the Ubuntu dependencies?
(That was apart of the setup guide)
I'm aware this is Arch Linux, but they're still needed
You might be able to get away with installing a few of them here, but at most you need:
- Steam runtime
- Linux Deploy
- App Image
The section above that will be all of the other Ubuntu dependencies
But we'll try the main 3 first
Since the IDE should cover a majority of what you need
No worries
That part is only relevant if you're testing from a non-Linux machine
As GameMaker can build to other platforms via the main PC
Try running it again
Once you've got all of these
👌
About as expected
Yeah honestly, this doesn't really seem helpful
Perhaps debug.log might paint a better picture
/home/jabble/GameMakerStudio2/debug.log
Assuming if one is made
That's fine
Yeah tbh, it never reported an error uh
What if you were to just run the app image manually?
/home/jabble/GameMakerStudio2/yyc/FIGHT_THING/FIGHT_THING.AppImage
My next best guess is that we might be missing a dependency or two
My next best guess is that we're missing a dependency or two
That'll be where the others come in
nods nods
Well the good news is, GameMaker does also let you export a zip version
But I can't recall what format the executable is in exactly
Right okay no specific format, just an executable
When you hit Create Executable
GameMaker will ask you where to save your files
You should also have a drop down menu option
Between AppImage or Zip
No worries
Only staff can really do that
(Well, at least iirc)
You can add the tag Solved though
How do I install Linux deploy, does it have a apt install name?
It’s a command in the guide
It tells you
it directs me to a help centre, would it be one of these I'm looking for?
