#Game assets not loading?

or rename it without using save as
yikes, and its one drive
which entirely destroys the project
u might need to just rebuild this one asset by asset
you can try the add from existing option
i cannot no i dont really have anything set up for that
basically make a new project
then right click the asset browser
choose "add existing"
then navigate to the yy file of one of those assets
then something in those files is messed up
and you will need to redo: heads up tho, you should not do this in a one drive folder
did you make the sprites in the gm sprite editor?
well the files for those are there so you can try dragging them to the ide
to import them
then yer boned, get onedrive off yer computer
why did you delete the folder
and surely after 2 years you've been using source control and making regular backups
you can try opening some of those folders and manually clicking each file to force onedrive to download them maybe
Well from the sounds of it, the most you can do is manually copy/paste each object/sprite to a new project. One by one
Or rather, you could try repairing the project file itself. But, that'll be a complete mass hurdle
sorry onedrive is a bad idea! i also learnt this the hard way (kind of) but keeping your project on cloud is going to f up eventually! i dont really know what the best practice is, but i make 4-5 or more versions per day on my hard drive when im working on the project, keep zipped backups every few days, and upload zipped backups to various cloud services
many say you should be using github but i've heard bad stories about that too. so just making hella copies and keeping zips in different places seems good enough atm
What bad stories?
If anything, I’ve heard like a bazillion trillion more bad stories about every other solution than just using source control
Not to discourage you on the bad stories or anything, I can understand if there’s something that has happened, I just never heard anything bad gone wrong with source control
Source control is by far the best solution. You can make essentially endless infinite versions of your project state. Kind of like you were making time points to go back to, any time something went wrong.
