For some reason, the way I scan my hand is by using the colour border that indicates the nation as an inital filter, to drawn my focus into a certain card (that I know should be there (not in all cards, but certainly for units) and for some reason I find that my eye's are not drawn so quickly to the unit's I'm looking for when they are gold (i suspect because I have to read the full name text (being neuro-divergent, I have a peculiar way of assessing things, and work better with pattern matching than analysing words and phrases).
The long and short of it is that I have misplayed cards in the past because they were gold and did not have the nation's banner colour at the top.
something similar happens when the visible art is (when the cards are overlapped "in-hand") similar, so for example I have on several occasions put out a "close combat" card when I wanted to put out a Line of Engagement" because both have blue sky at the top of them (and a 2k).

Please don't post anything like "be a more careful player" or "play more slowly". I am who I am and I would just like some customisation functions that help me tune to my particular way of playing. Perhaps the only answer is "this game is not designed for people like you"?

Maybe having the outline glowing on gold cards?

You can play without gold cards, in your collection you can uncheck the 'gold cards on top' or something

#

That way you can put the non gold versions in your deck

#

Well if you only own a gold card and not a normal copy the issue persists, i had not thought about that situation

now if only they'd add an "Add all possible gold cards" option

While I do understand that similar art and gold outlines can be confusing or take longer to recognize in a passive manner, I really think the issue can be solved by paying more attention

#

you can also have it so all gold cards revert back to their non-gold version in deck crafting, if i'm not mistaken

I know I need to slow down myself, I typically get excited and don't realize what's in my hand or something like that. It's hard advice to take, because I know I'm guilty of it. However I have noticed that I make a lot less mistakes if I take my time to relook at my hand and all the cards as well as the board.

this makes it so you only get non-gold cards to put in your deck

# silver zealot sorry, if you read the post that's not how my brain works, and I would hope that...

my friend, let us be truthful for a second, because it is in everyone's best interest. There is no way a human brain is wired to make mistakes by not paying attention to details, otherwise we'd not be able to survive and adapt in our surroundings. My best guess is you simply have a not very long attention span, and instead of addressing it, you are explaining it away as neurodivergence. The post above where you say you didn't read to the end of another poster's message (presumably before answering) confirms it to me.

I am not berating you or anything like that. But you know full well even neurodivergent people can (and should) pay attention, it is a board game after all
