#make monsoon rot an elite card

Or make more condition like you lost Kredit slot or remove top deck x card or more expensive or send this sh*t to reserve pool
Rework monsoon rot is more realistic lol
I love winning until monsoon plus supply shortage
its not that hard, just make it affect all and 7k and for SS do the same and make it 4k
Cards cannot have their rarity changed. Must be nerfed a different way
it shouldn't affect everyone, this just kills board development even for the one who uses the card
remember when board clears were elite only? that's the way it should stay
you can't just continue to go down a path where units are made completely useless and the original purpose of the game is completely unfulfilled
that's why my idea is to just change the effect completely: 6k, reset the attack of all enemy units. Then randomly pin, retreat or suppress each one.
Reserving the card and re-releasing it would be the ticket, like scorched earth/snowstorm

Except it doesn’t because you can choose the strategic timing. Case in point: Russian winter orders.
Carpet bombing and root out are old timers but specials? Seemed balanced enough. But idk I guess you’ve been here longer than me.
Unfortunately I think Monsoon is still under the one year reserve pool protection of its life cycle. It’s still a relatively new ish card.
Its in the core set and could be reserved in the next release
Indeed carpet bombing is a board clear, you're right
I didn't care to specify i meant only "hard" board clears
Same thing as for depths of winter of course, it removes your own units, and sometimes you're forced to use it in a situation where you lose valuable units as well
It is still my opinion that a limited "set all units' defense to 1" is excessive, even if you reduce the cost to make it symmetrical
It just encourages one side not to use units at that point
Instead units should not be so easy to clear: change monsoon so it isn't just a combo piece for a hard board clear
By hard board clears i mean: to the last man, isu-152, leopold etc.
I don’t like the order-based meta either and wished units had more staying power, but that’s a much deeper issue that goes beyond Monsoon rot.
At least it would make Britain think twice about using a MR board clear on its units with high HP. But even then, a 1hp honey is still a menace. And even a 1hp guard will still cost the enemy another card to remove.
I see. Something to point out about the MR SS board clear tho: 1) it’s very card hungry from a control perspective. 2) You have to find the other card if you want ideal timing.
These balancing factors are migrated by the fact that Britian can draw for days, and SS can be played several turns before MR, spacing out the kredit cost and making it more convenient to wait and draw MR if it’s not already in hand.
MR is not nearly as offensive when paired with Tora. Tora must be played second, and not before MR. Forcing you to commit 8credits in one turn and find both cards
And if you can’t find Tora in time, that 1hp IS-2 is still gonna slam your face for 8 damage.
That's exactly what i think as well. You put it neatly.
Monsoon rot combo requires 2 cards. However people still use it, and use it with good timing at that, such that it is still extremely successful. Add to that glamour boys and you got yourself set.
Same. Monsoon rot is a key offender though. I think if you make it symmetrical yes, that 1 hp honey will still need to be dealt with. But are british players going to stop using monsoon rot because of such a change? No of course
I am of a different opinion; it’s actually SS that’s the bigger offender. That’s basically 3k for FOUR 2 damage board clears, and even more if you have pin/Britain.
MR rot is almost useless against jaggro, it always needs a finisher card played second (unless SS), and doesn’t kill anything on its own. I know the psychological effect of 1 hp is jarring at first but it almost means nothing of they still get to hit your face or trade units, because the life span of the average unit in this game doesn’t last more than 2 (maybe 3) turns anyway.
Also Britian just does not need both of these cards. Thematically MR (rereleased as a universal affect) should be a Japanese card bc 1) Japanese units are largely already at 1hp and 2) Japan trained their troops in the jungle and kicked the UK’s ass in monsoon weather.
Yeah to top off the list of absurdities monsoon rot isn't even thematically fitting.
