Even after 2019 Britain has become a nation of pure braindead cards: 1K pin all enemies and draw a card (Monty), 5K deal 1 to all enemies and pin (Shelling), 4K Heal 6 and draw 2 cards (Sincerely Yours) and then 5K arty Pin an enemy until one of them dies (Sexton) all of the cards i mentioned are pure cancer and have made me questioned why haven’t they been nerfed considering when SS + CD happened they nerfed it immideatly in the next balance patch so riddle me this 1939: Why hasn’t there been a nerf on Britain that’s significantly important but have those kinds of nerfs for other nations?

British Research is also somewhat braindead, 3K and then you get a halved Sincerely Yours, 6K and then you get Naval Support on Steroids, 9K Blockade but Pin and at 12K multicard Grounded.

While sincerely yours is definitely more than what i would have said they should have got, britian is overall fine. Last ive seen its not winning more than the other majors.

The complaints about Britain in this game are pretty clearly not based on the nations actual power level but seems to be more based on a reaction to the playstyle

There is plenty of evidence to show that the brits aren't actually op, they've only had 1 serious deck for a long time and it just got nerfed, Brit air historically is obviously op but the rest of the nation is pretty obviously not

It's more of a dislike for aoe, draw, healing and late game win cons all in a single deck, sorta like old resistance, even when it wasn't op people hated it just because of its play style

Anyone who actually thinks Britain is op as a nation is kidding themselves, the argument that Britain is annoying is perfectly reasonable but the argument that they're op as a nation is quite literally untrue

i dont have issue with britain being one of the better nations, germany is also an excellent nation as a major or ally. problem is britain just uses so many of the annoying gameplay mechanics (discard, kredit denial, retreat, pin) and has so many generally great elites bordering on being autoincludes, e.g. sexton, wellington, pioneers, sincerely yours, monty, shelling etc.

It's the good old argumment of control always being hated because it stops the enemy from doing stuff in the game. People have hated sov control, german control, and japan control for the same reasons.

It's pretty much the same in every card game. Magic, Hearthstone, YuGiOh, and others also constantly have this constant hatred that gets piled onto control for just being control

Yugioh is the one I’m least familiar with and with how obtuse it is compared to other cards the comparison is harder to draw.
Since games are blindingly fast and the only resource is cards in hand there isn’t nearly that much that looks like “traditional” card games with control.
However hand traps, board locking, and discard have/currently play important parts of the meta game. Due to how quickly things go often just have one well timed interaction or the right counter can be enough to win a match.
It’s something that causes a fair bit of outspoken distaste because the game in recent years has suffered from one person setting up a win con. The enemy player having to draw “the out” or answer to that lock. If they do they win but otherwise they die.

But in general the stuff you see people dislike in on games for control are still disliked in Yugioh since it still results in people not getting to play their cards which often causes frustration. Yugioh is just severely warped by how the game is designed it’s not a super clear cut comparison.
