First of all, epic song choice. I love Hazbin Hotel.
Second of all, I have no idea wtf I'm talking about lmao but I'll try my best.
When you hit the high notes your voice sounds the best, except the very last one.
There were some parts which sounded pitchy, but for the most part your pitch seems quite accurate.
The second I clicked play though I kinda cringed immediately, and ik that's a really harsh thing to say but you did say to feel free to roast... It's hard to pinpoint exactly why though because listening back it doesn't seem like you're doing anything super egregious. I mean, you are definitely pushing up the edgy energy a ton, but the song calls for it.
I think getting a tone that doesn't seem too forced can be super hard sometimes, especially because our ears are really sensitive to that, but I guess that would be the biggest issue. And the greatest strength again would be some of those high notes.
For me, when I'm doing recordings and trying to get a tone that doesn't seem forced, part of what I try to do is get my headspace to already be in the place of the song and try to be like just singing to express just how I already am feeling, like in a matter-of-fact way, rather than trying to prove to the listener that this is how I'm feeling... If that makes any sense at all. idk, what works for you might be your own thing.
thisnis so peak another hazbin hotel fan i see 🥹
Ahhh I see thanks! Sorry for the late reply- I forgot to check this server cos I assumed nobody would reply hhh
😭
And ohh ok so tone?
I’m not too sure how to change that tbh-
Tyyy and yesss
Ooo I don’t have allowance so I can’t pay for lessons
😭
Voice acting might have some useful stuff about that
Because I think what causes the cringe factor is when what and how you're singing mismatches what the little hints in your voice say about how you're actually feeling
If there's a mismatch, it sounds like you're trying to seem a way that you aren't
Like it comes across to the ear as like tryharding or posing
At least, that's my guess
I feel like muscial theatre songs are the most difficult for this kind of thing, but idk
lol that’d probs be because I did a few retakes and got tired along the way
Tbh I just didn’t wanna copy the OG too much
Mm yeah true true
I completely understand
I've been there many times
