#How does my cover of Elvis Presley sound?

you’re going sharp & flat throughout the song
and when you sing “only” don’t do “honly” you’re expelling unnecessary air
when you sing “wise” think “waaahhhyz” you’re singing it the way it would be spoken and ppl modify their vowels when they sing
yeah im not native english so the articulation got me. but where was i sharp and flat?
the stay in “shall i stay” is flat for example
i can’t point it all out as its throughout the whole recording, this is the original key right?
its not, original is D major, i transposed down 3 semitones
so this one is B major
got it, doesn’t really change the notes being flat or sharp but was just curious
if you transpose the og song you get to hear what the notes should be
what do you mean by "get to hear"?
i mean that if you transpose the song with elvis singing it, sing it along with him to learn the notes
oh yeah, but i transposed this one because highest parts of song were kinda hard
but i transposed instrumental only, not vocal
i think it only goes to an E4? you need more volume than what you’re recording if you wanna sing higher
my chest voice tops out at C4 haha E4 would get me dying
could definitely get used to some exercises to expand your range then, even basses are expected to sing above middle C
hey sorry, i havent seen your message. yeah i am trying to expand my range but progress is pretty slow
well i am not sure if i am bass. i am likely baritone, but since i am 17 and untrained, my range will hopefully expand and also its likely that i just have to learn how to sing high notes. my lowest note is E2
what songs do you sing that are in your range? practicing a baritone song might help out
but you should challenge yourself and keep its original key
well still baritone songs are too high because they go to E4 and i can only get to E4 in my head voice
i chose this Presley's song because i could transpose it and have it in my range
you’re never gonna get to an E4 in chest if you don’t keep attempting it
yeah i am attempting i am trying to expand the range but i dont know maybe i am doing it wrong
you can always do exercises
but eventually you need to sing songs with things like an E4, it’s gonna be uncomfortable because your folds aren’t used to it
know any songs that top out around there?
what does this elvis song top out at do you know?
i was skeptical about what was written on internet about its highest note so i had to put it melodyne and literally check the notes. i think it tops at A#3
well i know songs in my language (something like country genre) and most of them top around E4-F4 because singers are usually baritones
then those sound perfect to eventually try getting used to
well yeah i can sing the notes before chorus but when chorus hits song goes up to like E4 but i top at C4. i am trying to sing those
you can just focus on the chorus part since that’s what gives you trouble. If you’re trying to sing the whole song prior to the chorus you’re gonna wear your voice out faster
but again look up exercises that expand your range on youtube i’m sure you could find many before you attempt to screech out a song you find too high
