Always been a person that sings a lot at home, easily recalling lyrics but awful at the singing. I might have improved a little but my close once cant stand my monotone voice and my tone deafness. Am I a lost cause?

Started learning to play guitar a couple of months ago and just got some sort of hang of how to sing and play at the same time.

What should I focus on to improve? I know the accent is quite bad, english is not my first language.

Tone deafness, or "congenital amusia," affects only about 4% of the population. If you can distinguish between different high and low pitches, you are likely not tone deaf. To improve your tone, start by focusing on achieving accurate pitch (intonation). Once you can consistently hit the correct notes, you can then explore and experiment with a variety of tone colors to enhance your overall sound. Tone colors can vary from dark to bright, breathy to focused, smooth to distorted, etc.
