First off, I have to say your tone quality I REALLY like and you have some sense of pitch which is good! I’m really impressed bestie 😂
But anyways, for cracking that is multiple reasons
- using the throat and lacking the diaphragm EVEN if it’s a little bit, you have to support it 100%
- lack of water and/or warming up
- holding back (shy, nervousness, too quiet)
- going out of your range
- straining/tension
But to help with belts you really need to support your diaphragm and stay up straight and we all tend to belt with chest or least chest dominate mix, which means we mainly use the chest with a little mix
And ofc DONT go 100% Loud and imagine calling for someone’s name across the room to get their attention, we tend to do about 70-80% max loud, proper dynamic is key

OMGG thank you so much for the tips, I will definitely take notes, especially the straining part😭 I sang this out of the blue so I should probably work on vocal exercises first next time🥹 Thank you again for the feedback, I appreciate it so much
Yup just hmu if you need questions answered or concerns
this is so embarrassing but😭 I tried drinking water and warming up(youtube vocal exercises) and stood up while singing. It still sounds like I’m straining, and I can feel that it did damage to my vocal cords, I’m sorry but could you please elaborate on the diaphragm part😭🫶🏻🫶🏻 thank you so much, this clip is my attempt to do it and I think it’s a bad attempt
We never wanna use our throat to sing, our support and our breathing is from our stomach so the power is going down to our feet rather the power going up; nothing above the chest or throat will help you sing only damage and straining
So when you breathe in (FULLY) your stomach expands like a balloon, don’t force this, and as you breathe out aka sing you contract the abs a bit and it’ll slowly deflate that’s your support
It’s almost familiar to taking a shit
How energy goes down and you contract the abs a bit and your stomach is around that power
You don’t literally push but it’s a similar feeling
OHHH i’ll try to practice thaaattt
some other day, ‘cause I think I damaged my voice too much by doing this😭 thank youuuu
Yeah damage is serious
It tends to get better on its own with rest and breaks for a few days but don’t push it, surgery isn’t fun
And ofc I don’t want you to lose the ability to sing again
I’m not saying it will but some people are unlucky
A good exercise is to lay on the floor (this force you to have a straight posture) and breathe in and out with your stomach but don’t move your chest
And keep your shoulders down
I will try this today, thank youuuuu
do I also sing or hum while doing this?
or am I just breathing?
No just breathing, but remember make sure you fully deeply but also quietly breathe in and when you breathe out either do a long SSSSSSSSSSS or SHHHHHH as long as you can exhale for
This will help with your stamina and support
So breathe in and then ssssssssssssssssssssss…
Then repeat, remember only move the stomach not your chest
