#How does vocal strain feel like?

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I couldn't find another channel specifically for questions.
I was wondering, is it normal to have like very very minor throatache after singing for a while, or is that a sign of vocal strain? For example, today I've been practicing to sing "Living on a prayer" and "It's my life" for, I think, 2 or 3 hours (didn't improve at all :c) and I now feel something like a warm sensation in my throat like it's not even a throatache just feeling warm there. Is that normal? I normally stop when I start feeling it, and it seems that the period of time I can sing before I start feeling it is extending. At first it was literally just 1 song and then it would start burning, now I can go on for hours, but I'm still not sure if I should feel it at all. And actually what does vocal strain feels like? Because I don't think I ever experienced any pain in my voice until I started trying to learn how to sing, but that's probably because I'm very silent and don't talk much.

Well, I am no expert, but that sounds pretty normal. I mean, I'd totally lose my voice if I sing that for 3 hours... Hopefully, somebody more experienced will reply, though. I'm only here because I'm bored.

# hot pulsar Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I couldn't find ...

youre voice is not only an instrument it is also a muscle. this includes your vocal folds, larnx, sinuses, etc. and tongue to help manipulate your sound and how you pronounce words and vocal placement. when singing such extreme songs by bon jovi it would most definitely put a stain/toll on ur voice. its a song with a lot of rasp and distortion and with many belts that goes into your mix. you wouldnt want to sing in your full chest as it may permanently damage it due to high tension. you have to slowly build up your range and sing with proper techniques to avoid these mistakes. i cant say for one what you are doing wrong as there's no clip for me to evaluate your technique. but just by reading it off you shouldnt be feeling pain or soreness in the first place if its done correctly.

Thanks! Sorry I didn't include a clip, didn't think of doing that as it was a more general question not about a particular song, but probably should've. If I have to describe it more accurately, it's not really painful, I just feel like my muscles are warmed up similar to what you'd feel during a workout I guess. After I finish singing it usually goes away an hour or two later, like I don't have a sore throat for the rest of the day, if that's what you mean by soreness. Sometimes I don't feel it at all if I sang something once or twice. But I was still wondering if that's normal or I shouldn't feel anything at all. I do try to keep my muscles relaxed and not scream. I usually don't keep recordings for long but here's one of my horrible singing from earlier today:

i mean theres serveral errors im hearing. such as tempo and rhythmic issues and lack of pitch control. and these are the fundamentals so start with the basics from the learning corner https://discord.com/channels/260563638710960128/1097024282900578505 and slowly progress and feel no strain. It recommended to practice 2 hours every day for quick results with proper techniques but NOT IN ONE SITTING you shouldnt over train your voice as your muscles will feel even tighter. you should feel your voice and muscles get adjusted to sounds and pitches you hear including the proper way of using your diaphragm to help sing. Keep recording yourself to track your progress so that you can reflect on what you need to improve on.
You cant do the splits without training your flexibility first or else your eggs will drop
