Hi, I have been casually studying and practicing singing for 1 year as a hobby. I am a Tenor and the highest note I can hit is A4. Singing comfortably around D4 - E4. A lot of the songs I like go higher than that. I would like to be able to increase my range so I can at least sing comfortably around G4 and A4. Is there any great exercises someone can recommend to increase my range?

Tenor Range Increase Advice Needed

If you're actually a tenor, then Head Voice/Falsetto is what you need to go higher. A4 is also where my break is and where I tend to flip into head voice to keep going higher, with my highest I've done is a G5.

#

Even if you aren't a tenor, Head Voice is how you push up higher past where your natural range is

For certain songs you can tell if they use chest or head. but I thank you for commenting so swiftly. Really appriciate the advice. Any ways to increase that chest voice. It used to be when I started my highest was B3 in the chest. So there must be some exercises focused on raising that chest voice.

Compression, Twang, and cheating into your mix voice are the ways I'd go

#

Although Twang and Mix are generally pretty similar in that spot

#

Really you're close to fighting against the limit for true chest there, a chest based mix will do you better to reach higher up, just focus on keeping the tone anchored to chest.

#

If you want to go any higher, look into Opera

#

I think for men in opera it's illegal to use head voice, so they've got it figured pretty good

Wow that's good advice! Thanks so much! Any exercises on youtube or something you would recommend?

No sadly, I haven’t looked into that side of the house enough to give anything solid. Just enough from what I’ve talked with other people about
