@boreal ice this is good id just relax more when singing. If you're tense it always sounds worse imo

# boreal ice Hello

very much what the others said! you sound great and I can tell you have an amazing voice, but it sounds tense and almost like youre over thinking it. some advice id give: (take this with a grain of salt, i'm no professional and i'm just saying what i'd do in your situation as someone that loves singing and is very self taught)

try practicing the song without the guitar and using an instrumental instead. singing and playing an instrument at the same time is hard, and in my experience it can lead to worse vocals where i'm focusing too much on playing.

try standing up in the middle of your room, have good posture and compose yourself and relax before you start to sing. as you're singing try to feel the song, the words your saying, and try not to think about it too much.

i'm unfamiliar with the song, so i'm unsure whether this is a stylistic choice or not. however I feel that one of the things that is making your singing feel unrelaxed is your use of staccato. try to implement a bit more legato and see how you feel :)

continue to record your singing and listen to it back, figure out what you like, what you dont like, what you've improved on etc. this will help you make better vocal choices next time you sing the song

once you've learned to relax a bit more, totally try playing it with the guitar again and seeing if theres any difference :)

It was my first day practicing this outside of shower singing haha. I'm more of a guitar player than a singer but I felt like my voice matched up with Eddie Vedder pretty well. I'm gonna try to add some more emotion and some of the other things you mentioned. Per chance would you listen to the song, just a snippet maybe and confirm if my thoughts were correct? My voice doesn't meld with a lot of singers but pearl jam seems to be right up my alley. Thank you again!

# soft trail I agree as well! All you need is what this person said above me and the emotiona...

I'm unsure how to add emotion. Is that like.. more force? Everyone has been telling me that but I don't know how to implement it exactly. Thank you for the advice though. Do you think my voice is close to Eddie Vedder? I can't seem to find a band or singer who sounds like me but he has a very original voice and I feel like we share that unlike many other artist. Again thank you very much !
