A new Map mod.
This mod let you look at the minimap in a new way.
The absolute glory.
How is it on performance? Since it's only interiors and those run best anyway assuming no hit, but just checking
In my tests, look like it doesn't hit performance.
Nice!
After playing around with it for a tiny bit.
Would it be possible to lock the rotation plane somehow?
Closing and opening the map resets it, which I appreciate, but free-rotate currenty introduces tilt in unexpected directions when done with a mouse.
Just generally not really intuitive if I want to e.g. rotate into top-down view from the default one, I have to move mouse left and down. (May be a skill issue, I know)
Also, zoom in and zoom out keybinds, or at least behaviour seem inverted.
bound them to keypad + and - respectively.
When I press + map becomes smaller, when I press - bigger
re: rotation - in your video too, when you move the mouse horizontally it introduces noticeable vertical rotation too
(still absolutely stellar work, btw, and those are just minor things)
Sorry for zooms, my firsts releases are always messy.
I'm gonna update soon.
No worries at all, I was mostly interested if it's something I misunderstood
If you have other suggestions, feel free.
Just the rotation thing, really. Otherwise - it has all that I wanted.
One thing that may be tricky to implement is door based "fog of war" instead of distance
But not holding my hopes for that
Not possible 🙁
Updated.
That should be better for zooms and controls
Thank you! Controls are right, and rotation does feel better
One suggestion I have, though. Is what do you thin about introducing a "deadzone" for rotation mode? So that first N pixels of movement along x or y axis are ignored
Doesn't have to be much, some small percentage of the viewfield, but may prevent accidental movement and make it easier to control
I was thinking about too.
this is such a cool mod
