When I was doing H4ND I added a bunch of palletization helpers
So for the vertical bars we could do something kinda similar to these, you can do really crazy shit just with noise textures and transparency
I don't have time to convert these ones I'm bouta go to work but here's the big generator script I was telling you about. It needs the OpenMW fonts in the same folder
(the "fucked" preset generates all the prebaked menu variants and then randomly selects textures from each one for every texture in the UI)

Even a cursory read of this suggests CD is a-fucking-okay with us reusing their material so long as it's actually their material and we're not paywalling it
So,
A) We yeet the textures straight out of BO1
B) Option A doesn't give us a clean solution for fatigue so you remake the health and magic setup and do a corresponding fatigue bar too
It's a good thing Embracer bought the IP because Square Enix suck and pre-block any such attempts on all their titles

another animation that's lacking in vanilla but is present in Gothic is hill-sliding - when you're on a slope that makes you slide down, the animation make the character get on their hind parts and extend the right hand forward for balance

I was actually considering this, grumbling vomits Populated Waters has it but it needs fixing. It makes a huge difference when you see them rowing around but I also want it for the player owned gondolas. That's one of the reasons I have been trying to figure out consistently spawning in items in hand. Vvardenfells rivers need more life to them

I Am Basket adjusts the basket speed based on the incline of the terrain
When you do a raycast in any direction one of the fields of the resulting RayHit is the hitNormal, which is like the angle at which the ray hit the thing
So if you do one straight forward you can say "okay I'm at such and such incline"

Well conceptually a raycast is very simple but the name is pretty geometry-coded I guess
All a raycast means is, "given two points in the world, is there something between them or not?"
So you can do stuff like SharedRay where it is indeed literally just tracking what you're looking at
But you could also do it, say, to see if there is something above, below, or in front of you
Or an NPC could do it to tell if they can see you or not
It's literally just drawing a line, but, in 3d space, and then seeing if it hits anything
It's called a raycast because it's a ray in geometric terms:

there is some jank there, I guess. There is a reason why Vanilla Morrowind doesn't even let you attack silt striders. They didn't want to deal with their AI, animations, pathfinding etc.
yeah there is some but wild ones as kind of ambience, i dont mind that they're non interactable but i would love to see some laden with baggage moving along the river routes, down the odai. boats too, the way omw is it has to be done in tricksy ways but i think with the advances in shceduling behaviour and animations there could be some interesting methods to approach the problem. some kind of table that can populate cells at different times based on logical scheduling. Dynamic Sounds basically does it already but with sound generators. there's probably ways of doing that isn't too expensive

This just occured to me but do you think one of your drinking animations could easily be repurposed to an upper body mask that just has an NPC holding a beverage? I think it would be nice to have standing patrons at taverns hold their beer up normally instead of just materializing it
yeah i did my best to make them to be versatile like that, most of whats on my repo avoids altering the middle bone between torso and legs so they can be blended together
i kind of made these in the hopes to one recreate the opening scene from King of the Hill in morrowind

I really poorly re-key framed it to just go forward and backward instead of looping cyclically

I'm working on several mods which implement different mechanics for phases of the moons. One is a UI mod and one is a gameplay mod. However, there is no equivalent of the mwscript functions: GetMasserPhase and GetSecundaPhase, so the only option is to create an .esp with an mwscript and send global variables back and forth, or hardcoding phases of the moons to dates which might not even be accurate.
This would also be helpful if someone wanted to bring the MWSE mod Windows to Aetherius to OpenMW.

I think that the general lack of time-focused stuff is one of the things that was "lost" during TES2->TES3 transition. In TES2, tons of things were related to time because they used a more realistic world scale, fast travel with noticeable time cost and time limits for almost every quest. In TES3, everything was shrank down and they also removed stuff like shops closing down for the night, summoning days, holidays etc., so most of the things which were time-dependent. It's a step backwards in a game which made many steps forward, but it clearly wasn't the focus.

Iโm probably one of the few people who doesnโt like the popular night sky replacers for one specific reason: They donโt have constellations! Or it uses the real night sky as a base so theyโre wrong
In pretty much any other game I wouldnโt care but in TES the star signs are an integral part of the lore
well, I uninstalled New Starfields for this reason. Looked nice, but it was too much and some things were lost. After playing around with it, I prefer more Vanilla-like look.
I mean - a lot of people play with shaders that replace the sky rendering wholesale
and base game sky looks amazing as is

the feather clouds on the base daytime textures are 
Same and also because some of the textures had diffraction spikes that kinda took away from the effect
I use Skies .IV and Meteros
Made it look like a texture, which it is
Meteros are fun flavour stuff
Skies IV has an upscaled vanilla night sky I think

it enhances it without drastically changing the style
Ngl I do actually like some of the over the top sky textures because it makes the game look even more other worldly but I need my constellations lol
New Starfields is more drastic which can be fun if you are looking for sth different
but I would prefer sth like that for RARE events

I wouldn't call it underrated as it's widely praised
I mean, it's sth that people often remember about MW

Is it? I figured since a lot of modlists replace it that people donโt appreciate the vanilla skybox enough
not everybody uses these mods and Vanilla night sky is mentioned often in most discussions about MW visuals
like on reddit and such
