Extracted from my Starwind Skunkworks after months of inactivity, T4rg3t5 has now been refined and brought to you as a standalone mod.

From the mod description:

T4rg3ts is a comprehensive Dark Souls-style lock-on targeting system for OpenMW that provides precise enemy tracking, visual target indicators, and intelligent combat automation. With T4rgets, an enemy's health is displayed according to the color of the icon. Each enemy has five phases from full to wounded to dead, with the actual icon color mixing between the two nearest colors. This means you always know how healthy the enemy is in combat!

Target indicators also grow in size dynamically according to how far away your target is. Additionally, it is impossible to target enemies which are offscreen, and the mod does not use any raycasts unless the CheckLOS setting is enabled - what this means for you is no bad targets, and high performance (as much as can be expected from updating a UI element every frame, anyway).

T4rg3t5 comes with a full suite of 31 icons to use for lock-on indicators. Additionally, it's very easy to create new target lock icons for T4rg3t5 for your own mods or personal use.

The target lock binding will definitely work on controller. I'm not 100% sure about the flick switching. If it does, it should be on the right stick.

You could try to lock the auto aim behind the marksman skill

Or make the auto aim gradually more magnetic as the skill gets higher

Meh. As-is, it works pretty well. Targeting follows 3 simple rules: whatever you lock onto has to be an NPC or creature, onscreen, and in combat. Then it selects the nearest one to the center of your screen, optionally going only for targets on the left or right.

It works well enough I don’t necessarily feel the need to make it skill-based or anything. But it could maybe use some tweaks on the orientation math.

Locking on an enemy with this while having dynamic camera makes the camera go apeshit while in first person view
I have the lock function unbound in dynamic camera
Known problem or something probably from other mods intervening somehow ?

Dynamic camera's worked okay for me so far, but I haven't tested them together extensively.

I've heard it does! I don't really play on android myself. But it works well on my anbernic.

There's a setting you can turn on that makes it lock on automatically when combat starts, but it's off by default. Otherwise you can set a button for it.

Good idea might be disabling targetting companions when having weapon out. With spells you can do positive impact like healing or buffing so it makes sense when spell stance would be ready
