#

Yea basically, it's hard to get roots

#

Just add dirt

#

That's like, the only natural resource we even have now, so nbd

#

And this yard has like

#

Man, I can't tell, but, it's some multiple years of straight neglect

#

There is literally a second lawn growing on top of the lawn which is covered in just years of leaves and whatnot

karmic stump
#

That sounds like my previous rental

sly helm
#

There's this tree that covers up the sun rising into my room, so I been tearing it apart with my bare hands

#

It's so bad tho

#

Poor guy is like half dead

jagged badger
#

i recommend some swales, just start by laying some rocks and junk down in lines perpendicular to the slope to gather nutrient soil and the trees will get the nutrients circulating

sly helm
#

Well we have this old clothesline

#

It's not really a clothesline, it's like two T shaped pieces of steel bout five yards across from one another

#

Looks like it'd make some real nice grapevines

#

Grapes are nice here cuz the root system is largely external and you can kiiiiiiinnndddaaaaa get away with em being wider instead of deeper

#

That's a dumb way to phrase that but it is sorta true

karmic stump
#

Sorta makes sense, from what I remember of the grapes my granda used to grow

sly helm
#

I'm not really sure but I think most of like, this specific neighborhood is probably great for gardening

#

Because most of the houses all look like this and have tons of nutrients built up

#

Pure compost up past my ankles in most parts of the lawn

karmic stump
#

just needs some time and effort from the sound of it.

sly helm
jagged badger
#

tons of potential, could get some beans growing up that fence datchim

#

a light covering over it and the house will act like thermal mass, get good fruits

sly helm
#

Well you know

#

Funny story

#

I actually was just trying to close off the side exits so the dogs can't run off anymore

#

I never bothered to look and realize there was literally nothing keeping them in the yard until I got my own πŸ˜…

drifting mountain
#

Thank you so much! Its very much appriciated you would do this. You are great and so is your work.

sly helm
#

Thank you πŸ₯Ί

#

Lemme know if you have any more probs!

rigid valve
#

okay It's friday so I can resume trying to install the dev builds
I dragged the folders into MO2 and enabled them and disabled the old S3maphore
I'm assuming I installed them improperly
they also have the red x's next to them saying "No valid game data"

I should probably also ask the POTI server and see if anyone could help me install them there

sly helm
#

That's where downloads it will extract go

#

this vid actually shows how to do it, they're the same archive

rigid valve
#

I first enabled them all to see what happened
no music played

then I enabled the ones that I thought wouldnt conflict
and no music again

sly helm
#

Do you know where your openmw.log would be at?

#

It would be in the same location as your openmw.cfg

#

This isn't anything to do with which modules you enabled. The only one you need is 00 Core, POTI probably also uses at least the MUSE and TR modules

#

Did you also enable the ESP files for both mods?

sly helm
#

one s3c

#

Are you... really really sure you don't just have the music volume down, or something?

rigid valve
sly helm
#

There is a panel that says plugins

#

where all the ESM and ESP files for the game are

#

both my mods will probably be towards the end, and both should be checked, but

sly helm
#

I see here in the log you just posted it says it's playing a buncha music

sly helm
#

Looks like you've got everything just right to me, actually!

#

If you're sure it's not muted or anything, turn on the Enable Debug Messages setting in the mod and run around in-game for a little bit for me, then post that log after. I've got it working on my setup atm

rigid valve
#

I reinstalled the mod and just did CORE in the BAIN installer

only thing I can think of to do is a hard reinstall or something

sly helm
#

no, your setup is perfect as-is

#

er, well, it was

sly helm
#

S'what I thought

#

OpenMW player stores everything, all your openmw configurations and modlists and the log files and alllllllll of it outside of the normal openmw locations

#

Idk where that is but I'm pretty sure there's a button for it

rigid valve
sly helm
#

no, this is the same log file from the same locaton

#

you should probably ask in the POTI discord where in MO2 to click to find your openmw.log, yeah

#

This isn't the one your MO2 setup is using, so, I can't do anything with it

#

All three of them are broken and should show the same problem so you won't need to make another

#

here

sly helm
#

the log file will be in that folder, under OpenMW Configuration

rigid valve
sly helm
#

This is fine

#

I see a different date on this and it even says POTI and stuff

#

Ah!

#

Mother fuck

#

I was looking at this in H3 the other night, and, I swore it was a bug, but I was messing with other stuff

#

okie okie

#

All you gotta do is

#

Go back in Mo2

#

on the left side

#

Drag H3 above S3maphore

#

Should be good

rigid valve
#

fingers f'n crossed

sly helm
#

yea this is my screwup in some shared code

#

I see the old version in S3maphore is correct

#

So once S3maphore loads after it'll override that broken file and should be okay

#

(I'm jamming in Anvil on latest build rn)

rigid valve
sly helm
#

It's not supposed to have a loading bar or anything fam

#

I literally just mean drag it above s3maphore so it is listed before, that's it

#

Then try it

rigid valve
#

oh shit

#

like that?

sly helm
#

Yea now you see it's got the lil lightning bolt, with the + sign on it

#

Shows you it's overriding stuff in H3

rigid valve
sly helm
#

loooooooolllll

#

good catch, I just removed the old file

#

I don't wanna bother those guys too much but @weak bridge might care to know H3lp Yours3lf is going to be a mandatory dependency soon

#

(some, uh, issues in the switch-over were just causing our friend here some trouble)

rigid valve
# sly helm Yea now you see it's got the lil lightning bolt, with the + sign on it

alright good part
songs now loop like they are supose to
but It's only the base game songs It looks like
Now I just need to figure out how to get the TR tracks to play, "Beacon Of Cyrodiil" is always played in Old Ebonheart as a track

Im hoping thats due to me just having "Core" in the BAIN installer enabled
and once I reinstall and enable the other ones I will have the TR tracks in there

sly helm
#

yep that's exactly it

#

You should have at least the TR tracks... Probably also the MUSE ones.... I can't say what else is right for your modlist tho

#

MUSE + TR are the main ones you'll always want

#

oh uh

#

yeah you're fine

#

beacon of cyrodiil is the TR playlist

#

yeah man I think you're good actually!

#

I know that playlist kinda sucks

#

Some of the TR ones are really light on tracks

#

If you go into any mod folder in your setup you can add new tracks for OE!

#

Here's the folder for it

#

Just drop new .mp3 files in there

#

but yeah IIRC this playlist literally has one track, which is sadly kinda common in some of the TR areas

#

It should also fall back to these ones every now and then:

---@type PlaylistFallback
local TRFallbackData = {
    tracks = {
        'music/ms/general/trairdepths/dreamy athmospheres 1.mp3',
        'music/ms/general/trairdepths/dreamy athmospheres 2.mp3',
    },
    playlistChance = 0.60,
}

But yea not a lot to it

#

some TR areas don't even have playlists, i think

rigid valve
# sly helm oh uh

those two words scared me and thought I was thus fucked again

BUT ALAS

MY SWEET "Beacon Of Cyrodiil" finally plays and LOOPS
Those Euphonic Trumpets are my blessings from Azura herself!!! Praise be to Azura!!
the only thing I wish is they added some more tracks so its not just "Beacon Of Cyrodiil" looping over and over again exactly like you just said

I have probably become slightly obsessed with the track with the sole notion of trying to get it just to fuckin work

sly helm
#

no yea, I just, I thought about it for a second, and once I realized you said it kept playing Beacon

#

I was pretty sure everything was fine it just took a minute to remember which playlist that's from lol

#

The TR soundtrack is actually like five years or something behind TR itself

sly helm
#

every playlist can be expanded by just slapping music wherever (mostly)

rigid valve
# sly helm So you probably actually will genuinely wanna get comfortable doing this at some...

now that I think I know how your mod works better than any other mod at this point

at some point I want to try configuring different songs in playlists for specific locations if that is possible
I wanna try to add some Daggerfall soudtracks, the holy grails

but for now I'm probably just gonna play some damn morrowind because I've been trying to get this to work for 3 or more weeks lmao

sly helm
#

yeah lol enjoy it!

#

Definitely look forward to a daggerfall playlist module eventually too

rigid valve
#

hell yea

sly helm
#

You can do almost literally anything you can think of with playlists, within reason

#

It's a little too flexible for its own good, actually, and over time I kinda want to ship less, but nobody is in a hurry to pick them up off me lol

#

So many options!

#

I really need an app to generate them or something, I think

rigid valve
#

thank you for your help S3ctor
good luck on the next release btw
looking forward to it

fallow bough
#

I finishing up a LORKHAN patch now

fallow bough
#

ugh this is annoying. I can't use table in my playlist file

sly helm
fallow bough
#

thank you I'm losing my mind over here with the sandboxing

sly helm
#

It's not intended to be, like, restrictive in the sense of preventing you from doing stuff, but it IS in the sense that I wanna make sure anything that goes through a playlist isn't api code

#

lmk if you need anything else

fallow bough
#

where is your repo now anyway?

sly helm
#

oh my

#

thank you for reminding me about that

#

all my stuff is under the dreamweave org now

#

wait

#

I'm stupid

#

I corrected it in the docs but not the actual file

#

now it's good πŸ˜…

#

I probably installed the update wrong

sly helm
#

nah but latest latest needs h3lp yourself

#

there's a lotta shared code between the two at this point and I keep breaking it (that file is one of them actually)

sly helm
#

All stable builds are broken unfortunately πŸ™

#

That's from switching providers, but, I don't think it'd actually work with the latest stable release of that either

#

dev builds are all good though, but stable links are all dead until I manually tag a new release for each thing on GH

getting this from dev:

i gotta take a break this has burned hours

sly helm
#

You wanna drop your playlist here?

#

I can finish rolling it up and repost if you want

#

I think I might have initialization order fiasco in my enums 😭

#

s'what I get for trying to be fancy I guess

fallow bough
#

yeah one sec

#

do whatever you will with it

sly helm
#

That's a weird warning, though πŸ€”
The global script sets that up before any locals can access it, so it shouldn't be nil... I'll have to muck around with my storage setup

#

Sorry for the trouble πŸ™

sly helm
#

looking at this playlist makes me feel like I should just put require back tho

#

I didn't think anybody would actually use it tbh, and you actually used it in a way I don't really feel is worth gating out

fallow bough
#

If you're gonna be digging into s3maphore a little more it would also help with LORKHAN if you could disable silence for songs in the same playlist

sly helm
#

You can.

sly helm
#

I believe you just set your silence chance to 0.0.

#

Btw

#

Does anybody hang out on the Oblivion Nexus?

unreal bone
#

got total overhaul modlsit updated since last year and only problem iv noticed in old ebonheart it plays its track and then silence until i love the city

thorny pawn
#

I just want to say that as a music enjoyer, I really love s3maphore. It feels like it took forever for proper music management to come to OpenMW, and now that we have this, I personally don't think there's a single advantage to using the old engine anymore.

Thanks for creating this and sharing it with us!

Hello, I'm using s3maphore for OpenMW and enjoying it a lot. It's so much better than the vanilla music system.
I do have one question please. Every time I enter/exit a building, the music track changes.
Is it possible to keep the same track instead?

thorny pawn
#

As far as I know, the MUSE Expansions don't contain any specific building music (taverns, guilds, etc.) except for a few special locations

#

You could also try fiddling with the overworld/dungeon override settings in the script options in-game

sharp roost
#

I've checked, there's no playlist that would affect the track change.
Maybe something else messes it up in my modlist. Or some weird incompatibility with 0.51...

thorny pawn
#

Might be helpful for your issue too

sharp roost
#

thanks, I'll try

sly helm
#

Playlists do not control this at all.

#

Just go into the script settings for this mod, and you can control when tracks change during cell transitions. There are three separate options for it

thorny pawn
sly helm
#

No worries!

#

There are a ton of settings tbh

#

Some days I think it's too many but every now and again someone asks about one of the settings I keep thinking about removing...

thorny pawn
#

I think the settings are mostly fine! Personally I don't have a use for the silent tracks or the "finish current track" settings, I feel like they interrupt the flow of the music too much, but I get why others might like them

sly helm
#

You know tbqh I hate the silence tracks too lmao

#

EASILY the most requested feature I ever got, though!

#

Actually I felt the exact same way about "finish current track", but that one also was a MASSSSSIVVEEEEE request from people

thorny pawn
# sly helm Actually I felt the exact same way about "finish current track", but that one al...

Haha yeah I spotted you talking about this in the Nexus comments from about a year or so ago. I get it, some folks like some silence for the ambiance or whatever, or don't want a cool track to end, but for me if I'm changing locations I'd really like to hear tunes to fit it.

That was always my biggest gripe with vanilla Morrowind music, the lack of proper dungeon tracks (that even Daggerfall had). Hearing the whimsical overworld music in a Sixth House base was ridiculous.

fallow bough
#

I like finish current track ❀️

sly helm
#

Honestly, I was REALLY blown away by how much more expansive DF's music is

#

They've got day/night, dungeon, sneaking tracks

#

It's arguably one of the most obvious places you can really feel the time constraints in MW dev

karmic stump
#

And it is a good place to add immersion.

Granted MW OST is a bit higher fidelity/production value wise

sly helm
#

The tracks are great, too.

thorny pawn
#

I think at this point the MUSE Expansion stuff has won my heart. I sprinkle a few Jon Babb tracks (the Morrowind Music Overdose guy) in my playlists as well. Combined I think it's my favorite TES soundtrack.

Hello S3c:tor, first of all, I want to thank you for all the amazing work you are doing on OpenMW.
I really do think OpenMW is one of the best things to happen in gaming.
I've been modding my modlist for a year now and it's been a fantastic journey (still is!)

For my problem, it's no big deal really, but I've disabled all options and still the track changes between exterior cells.
https://youtu.be/4sIPbRTojL4

sly helm
#

You know, I'ma be honest

#

I don't think there actually was an option for this

#

We have one for OVERWORLD transitions, where you're going between exterior cells

#

There's entering hostile or friendly areas

#

I'm not sure that one of them ACTUALLY covers going from indoors to outdoors

sharp roost
#

Alright, got it, cheers πŸ™‚

sly helm
#

well, I guess I should've finished that thought

#

What I meant to end that with was, lemme make sure I didn't misremember that, and I can add that setting for you
