#Pickpocket Overhaul for Quickloot
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
on patreon i got 4€ within a few days for this, but since nexusmods threatened to ban me if i have any paywalled mods on my patreon, i was forced to refund them and be happy with the 0.1 cent per download
stupid nexusmods -.-
0.1% per download? You mean converting DP to paypal?
yep
i guess this is the same file as the one on the quickloot main mod
Ouch.
Honestly I don't think making money off modding is a viable strat unless you are a popular youtuber or make a ton of massivly popular mods like the rimworld vanilla expanded series.
Artwork tends to make more.
Cold truth, yet truth.
There are surely more profitably emergent markets, let's say.
no, its a replacement for the module in the quickloot main mod
thus requires you to overwrite when you drop it in
or put it in a seperate content path that gets loaded after quickloot, which makes it get overwritten only virtually
hope this is not too complicated
if it works you have "QuickLoot PP" in the settings list
Does this make Pickpocket Rebalance obsolete? I see that this edits max chance setting, but what about fPickPocketMod?
Do I need to install regular Quickloot for this to work?
yeah this doesnt use any GMSTs, everything is configured in the ingame settings
yes this depends on quickloot
The only time I've seen patreons gated mods that made money are dragbodys stuff for fallout and Minecraft texture packs
99% of mods are completely free, makes sense that few people will want to buy them
not to mention that most of those patreon modders are just ripping anims or textures from other games and porting them to tes
textures in general are a joke, you can upscale everything with AI. Scripts at least still require skill
yeah but this is a kinda nieche mod and i unreasonably spent over 10 hours on it, so making it some premium content made sense
adding to the fact that
- quickloot has module support for anyone to make something like this (incl permissions explicitly listed on the mod page)
- quickloot already has the vanilla pickpocket system built in, so it's not like i'm gating pickpocketing behind this
whatever, it's not really worth getting into a dirty fight with nexusmods over 10 bucks
the fact that you cannot have any paywalled content on your patreon page if you advertise it is pretty scummy though
(or "links to any communities that discuss paywalled content")
the only thing they allow is a link (subtle + at the bottom of the page) to your paid mods on an "officially supported mod page" (like creation club)
its even against the TOS hinting that you might implement a requested feature if you got a donation 🤦
tldr: nexusmods scummy
-> topic: the mod:
i know that my settings might not be for everyone, i consider making different presets if you have good ideas (or other feedback, even if it requires me to add another thing to the calculation) (presets: iirc it's possible to cycle through presets which would immediately change all other settings.)
feedback: vanilla's "minimum chance" comes to mind for example, which this doesn't use at all (might be overpowered if combined with the wrong settings)
i could add that if people miss it
note there's also a libreOffice spreadsheet for some example calculations (because the exponential formulas can be hard to grasp)
my balancing should be fine for anyone playing with the price balance mod or without
If you use security skill for pickpocket, does that switch the target's skill multiplier to use security as well instead of sneak?
no, because i assumed most npcs (vanilla and modded) have their sneak skill adjusted (intentionally) to make them harder to pickpocket
I like this mod, but by default it seems too easy.
Did anyone figure out how to set it up so it's challenging but rewarding?
Just saw in here that you were having trouble with nexus and money and whatnot, I just chose the kebab option on patreon for you 🤣 quickloot honestly makes the game playable for me and I just installed MBSP after Just Background Noise did a video with it. Keep up the great work!!
thank you so much, i really appreciate it
i see, unfortunately he didnt show his mbsp settings
also he got one thing wrong, mbsp can actually refund magicka before you cast the spell
this allows making spells even more expensive
or have them scale from more expensive to less expensive
oh i see he shows the mbsp settings at 21:02
i see, he left it on default
Have you been getting more love since he put out that video ?
