#Distant Fixes: Lua Edition

Is that the lost ps1 build of morrowind?
Also great idea for a loa mod this type of stuff that unifies fixes is muxh needed
Hah yeah, just what happens when I use ffmpeg to turn a video I made with Blender into a gif
What's different about this from zacks's mod? I thought his could support content from other mods too (don't actually know if it does, I'm just assuming cuz it's also lua which is basically sorcery to me
)
The main difference is that this mod can support new content with YAML-formatted data vs adding more Lua code. See this example for Aether Pirate's Discovery by BillyFighter.
Additionally: other mods can ship a YAML file themselves, it need not be added into this one. So the content coverage can be extened with zero code changes or updates to this mod.
Sorry, I don't know anything about YAML either. Is it less performance heavy or something?
it's just a data format, that's all 🙂
The main point is: functionality can be extended with text-based, structured data and not code and also that the code itself is agnostic to content
hey, this is really cool 👍
Hey Hemaris, I appreciate you saying that! Wouldn't be a thing if not for your prior work

getting this error
also im confused about ths mod
is this mod enough or do i need the other distant fixes mods
Thank you for the report - I'm aware of it and will fix it asap.
Despite what the readme says (I will update it) this mod intends to replace the others.
Hey @ashen steeple qq - how are you triggering that error? Does it just happen when you load the game?
it did the first time i loaded a game
havent gotten it ona new game when i updated my build
do you think its ok to continue my playthrough on the current update
or should I wait until this new update drops
@grand elbow
@ashen steeple the error is harmless, you should be good to play but I will be dropping a new updated in a few minutes!
That error is triggered when a quest update happens that isn't handled by this mod. I should have checked if there was data or not before proceeding to try and handle some distant fixes that don't exist. I didn't, so it errored saying it got nil which is accurate.
Alright, thanks!
Distant Fixes: Lua Edition version 1.1 is released!
- Added support for several mods (credit Ronik):
- Fixed a bug that caused an error when a quest updated that had no data to process
- Added the
withScriptfield for fixes- This is a list (array) of strings that are names of scripts
- If an object has one of the scripts in the list attached to it, the fix will handle it
- This makes supporting content with large amounts of changes much easier (Raven Rock, Building Up Uvirith's Legacy)
@ashen steeple please feel free to update to this version and LMK any issues!
Alright thanks
also silly question
when updating this, do i need to redo deltamerge
That's a very fair question - no need to re-merge for this one.
Alright, thanks bro
You're welcome! Thanks for using this mod and reporting problems.
Much appreciated!
