Hello, OpenMW script modders!
Bounties for script mods (usually from an existing MWSE mod) I would like to see in openMW. I am offering the default bounty of 50usd, but the price can move up if the mod is complex enough.

Bounty (Wanted Mods)

  1. Merlord's Character Backgrounds (Nexus Mods Link): This mod adds depth and personalization to the character creation process, allowing players to choose a background for their character that comes with unique traits, abilities, or challenges. Additional 50usd from @clever vessel for a total of 100usd.

2. Cosmetic Overrides (Nexus Mods Link): Finished by @silver talon
3. # Blasphemous Revenant (Nexus Mods Link): An old classic necromancy mod. Bounty paid by @naive raptor with USDT (stable coin with 1-1 match USD) If you are uncomfortable with crypto, I can facilitate a transfer on the completion of the bounty. Where ateno would give me the USDT and I would turn it into USD and pay you that.

  1. # POTI Settings (Gitlab Link): This is to help @silver nacelle with his config for POTI, which is a wabbajack mod-list. The premise is to set defaults for other lua mods that are included with POTI. Any configuration of your mods to make them work better with player choice in the Script menu is desired.

  2. +1 Weapons/Armour: The idea for this is to improve weapons/armour with like a grindstone or something based on the players "armorer" skill.

  3. Crafting in General: Just be able to craft stuff based on materials + relevant skill, e.g.: armor/weapon crafting requires armorer skill.

  4. Nimble Armor (Nexus Mods Link): Added by @peak crest This MWSE-Lua mod makes armor contribute to the player's and NPCs' evasion modifier and allows evading attacks to practice unarmored and light armor skills. He will pay this bounty.

  5. Morrowind XP (Nexus Mods Link): 100USD provided by @rustic bear . Morrowind XP replaces vanilla leveling system with one based around experience points.

  6. Extended Hotbar (Nexus Mods Link): 50 EUR provided by @nocturne island. He desires actionbars and a keybinding menu (like 'f1') on screen and ability to have 30 keybindings like an MMO, (3 rows of 10). Please contact him directly. He desires this by 2024/04/18.

Bounty Details

  • Default Bounty: 50 USD for each mod.
  • Complexity Adjustment: The bounty can increase if the mod's complexity justifies it. Basically if you make a super complete complex mod that takes you a lot of hours I'll pay you more.

Expectations

  • The implementation doesn’t need to directly match the original MWSE mods but should capture their general functionality and spirit.
  • If the mod is infeasible for some reason, janky work arounds are probably fine for me.

Payment/Bounty Fulfillment

Basically I will do pretty much everything to get you your equivalent of 50USD. Paypal and ko-fi are preferred. But if you have an unusual circumstance I can also pay the equivalent in crypto (of your choice, but I prefer ETH). The payment is given after I have verified the mod works to a reasonable good level (quick 10-15 minute test with a chat). If the payer is not me, you have to chat with them. If you do the work and they don't pay you, I will pay you personally (50% of the bounty) , and then ban them from requests in the future.

My primary concern is that it works with modded quests, like in Tamriel Rebuilt. Everything else is secondary.

I've on multiple occasions grinded my character to high levels without completing a single major quest line, and then lost all interest in doing content.
Its kind of a me problem. I used to only play on console to avoid the temptation of cheating.

There might be a way to scale exp rewards based on number of quest stages or something, but even a flat "Do 3 quests and level up" would help me a lot

Doing a quest and my only reward being 100 gold feels bad. I have the same problem with Skyrim, where I'll get a magic sword my build never uses. I could have spent that time farming dragons.

Hello!
Just wanted to say I got myself an interview for a 7 to 5 job (which I passed and will get, so long as I don't screw my trial period), so I'll overall have a lot less time for coding than I used to
However, I'm not gone, just took a break to do a UAD campaign while other life stuff was happening, and now got a job opportunity I can't afford to refuse, but whenever I get the energy to do it I'll sure be working on some more mods, albeit most likely whatever I feel like making rather than bounties (albeit the two can align sometimes)
In the meantime, I'll still do my best to keep the 2 mods I've uploaded up to date with latest openmw versions

Ok, think it’s time to make some mods so I can eat, Hotbar/favorites mod should be playable in “beta mode” within a few days. I can probably put together a hack to make crafting framework not depending on RTT, maybe just show the item icon or a custom image.
