go get a tape measure and make an 11cm wide base... it's 4.5 inches for non-metric folk
plus VAT...
That's board game mini vs statue
that is true, 13cm in height
WELL GOD DAYUM
yeah
People underestimate volume when height increases.
like... fuckin' chonkers
i wish i coud get the littles ones only for the board game instead of these awesome big ones
but yeah the volume of those chonkers definitely makes it worth their price
A lot of people are asking so I wouldn't be surprised if they end up in the MOOD store later on.
yippee!
also i can't believe i never knew there was a whole kickstarter for Caretaker, Horrors of Hoxxes and Shockwyrm campaigns
i must've been living under a rock in july
4.5 inch base + 5 inches average, with the scout's pickaxe reaching 7 inches tall
and likely not hollowed out either
Personally, i'm not getting them... i have to draw a line somewhere, and there's just not enough value there for me personally. I really love the game, I bought into all the KS campaigns on max level pledges, but that's because there's a game in there that can be enjoyed with others.
yeah me neither
and the board game expansions themselves are expensive as is already
it's a hell of an investment
I hadn't spied that they were pre-painted full color too, which adds to teh cost.
true true
here is something totally free that seriously improves the game.... shameless shill of my soundboard https://www.drg-soundboard.com all music, rock and stones and other chit chat, creatures, music, mission control and various effects, much more to come... ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS
Yeah tricky bit is we only have wip renders, rather than prototype, so hard to judge quality. Push comes to shove one could repaint/touch up.
also i saw that there was a post from MOOD about implementing metal dice for the board game, kind of like an upgrade
and they look fucking RAD
but 440$ CAD for 5 minis... sadly, that's a LOT of groceries and other living costs for me
so i'm out
We got metal dice with the latest KS campaign for the boardgame tho, didn't we?
not by that arsehole that lives in your bathroom mirror again, surely?
Statue vs board game bulk detonator.
If people are paying โฌ30 for bulk det I don't see โฌ75 being that much for the statue..
That is with a card though and implemented into the game
Its a big model but insane price for what you get
I'm trying to muster in my head how big a funko pop is compared to the new statues
I have no idea but my guess is the statues are far bigger
A bit bigger yeah
quick googlin' says standard pops are 4 inches tall, so 10cm.
so below shoulder height or so on the Dwarf I reckon
Gunner takes Gunner Jr. to his first shooting lesson
Reminds me of when I made my diorama..
Time to make an even bigger one
I do feel guilty much
Uuuuuugh me wanting figurine. Im broke rn and i bought a monster hunter figure a few months ago so thats enough needless spending for a chud like myself. I have the boardgame minis and im telling my inner dweeb that they are enough
You can keep telling yourself that but secretly you'll know it's not enough. You'll keep it at the back of your mind for the entire year until you start seeing others receive theirs and then you'll be saaad.
Because that's what's gonna happen to me ๐
I'll have to make a big Dwarf statue for myself sooner or later to make up for it.
i think your right but i recently rediscovered that polymer clay is epicsauce.
I will maybe make a drg diorama or some crap
Tryna move rn, start school again, pay bills. No plastic guys for me :/
I made myself a grunt out of polymer clay a few years ago but he lost his teeth as i was moving my stuff to my new apt
Does anyone know where I can buy base game STL's and the Biome and space rig expansion ones?
Backerkit page is still up, but it's not an automated system so likely you have to still contact MOOD after you place an order; https://drg-expansions.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
email support@moodpublishing.com afterwards I reckon. Can still take some time. Or email them first and ask how to proceed.
Beautiful! Always love seeing a painted boargame ๐
Just played our first fully painted Liquid Morkite Extraction (and won!)
Running a 2-4 player sesh on <t:1775179800:F> through Tabletop Simulator. No expansions, mic required. Just looking to play a single round and meet some new folks. Link on GameDate. I'll cancel if I don't have at least one player interested by <t:1775129400:F>
3D printed a sweet dice tower to go with the game... My biggest single-run print yet... 40h almost 1kg of PLA, of which close to 40% as waste because it had to change colours for each layer... Next time I would just print it in one colour and paint it ๐ But it was cool to actually do it for once ๐
I did mine in black and realizedโฆ I have to have it in color now! Your picture just solidifies it for me lol. Looks sick!!
Thanks! It's a huuuge amount of waste though as it has to change colours at least once for every single layer...
I would just paint it if I would make another one ๐
Caved and also bought the Biomes expansion... Areived this afternoon... Quickly painted up the dreadnought so we can hopefully end the night with a bossfight tomorrow ๐
<@&296918282403840000>
How necessary are the expansions? Trying desperately to get my hands on a copy of the game, but figure i should get an expansion or two if they improve the experience :)
I think the game is still as enjoyable without the expansions. If you want the extra content, go for it. The only real game changing expansion I find is the Space Rig with the added character progression and new missions
If you got it, you can try out the game and its expansions on TTS
<@&296918282403840000>
Wonder if this girly would be useable as a mini in DRG
40K miniatures are a bit smaller scale, but you do you
Looks sick though tbf, got it for free from the mini of the month
Lucky, I'd have to travel over 2 hours, N or S to find a offical store
Everyone any good tips for a 4player still I Can't win a 4P match even on the 1st mission
Itโs two hours walking for me, which of course I take public transport but if itโs a nice day, why not
What do you have trouble with most, or rather how does the mission turn into a loss for you?
Driller can be handy there, either block stuff off with the flame wall, or if you have cryo cannon then the free action freeze + damage can work wonders in taking down big creatures fast. Sludge Pump is also a solid damage dealer
Scout is useful for moving behind Praetorians and Oppressor, Gunner's shield comes in handy..
We were 3 holding the bugs in the same spot the other moving for objective
Being overrun is more about target priority I reckon, and crowd control. Again, driller's flame wall (or freezing). Sentry Gun to deal with grunts
Guest who was going for obj
You have to take out enemies once you start having more than a couple on the board, instead of letting them amass and then activate heaps of times in a row
If you guest driller yes
@royal nacelle so is it viable to split 2v2 so do the map obj effectively
Depends what mission you're playing, sometimes it can even be necessary for everyone to split up entirely, and then rush to help if someone gets into trouble.
Also the card that has a mactera that says lose 1 HP or jump to evade ( Knock Down) is it down on the same hex or an adjacent hex
Same hex
It's very situational, depends on what's in range to attack the Dwarves, and what the Dwarves themselves can attack. If everything is at full health, etc. If you have multiple enemies in range then the Webspitter is probably the easiest to kill vs how much damage/inconvenience it can do, Mactera Spawn a close second as well as Slasher.
You'll extremely rarely have every type of enemy on the board, and even then they'll be spread out. You can kite/stay out of range of a lot of enemies, just by moving your Dwarves as necessary.
speedpaints are magic
not all if them are finished, but yeah, could play with them like this
it sounds like a run of bad luck that you got swarmed so hard... did you shuffle the swarm cards thoroughly before starting the mission?
if you can't win a 4p mission on the 1st mission, to me, there's something you're doing either not enough of, or too much of. What I mean by that is that maybe you're focusing too much on killing bugs from far away and spending too many actions engaging in combat when you don't need to, or you might be activating/moving the bugs on each player's bug phase
Go back over the rules carefully and think back about what you did
like i said, it's possible that it's a bad run of swarm cards, but generally speaking, you shouldn't be immediately overwhelmed by all the bugs on the board.
In each players turn we got tge activate creature and increse treath by 1 and then the increse it by 2 , the other event card the goes on the swarm deck for 2 swarm card when swar triggers.
Yeah we got that in the early turns
Playing my first ever round of this!
@celest osprey how was it
I concur
I'd be keen to hear how it was, trying to find a copy of the game myself :)
I'm having trouble finding an answer to this question. Getting mixed answers. My friend was using the Breach Cutter which lets you roll Fire|Fire and apply that to all hexes between you and your R5 target. He got a weapon upgrade that added a bonus damage die. Is that added to all of the hexes, or just one? Regardless of the answer, could you please provide where in the book it says what your ruling is?
Google AI and my friend say it applies to all hexes. My interpretation is that you'd apply the Fire|Fire to all hexes, and then "After rolling for Normal Damage, roll a bonus die" and then you can apply that die to either a new hex, or one of the same hexes, as with all weapons that roll multiple die.
IIRC the extra dice upgrades inherit the properties of the weapon they are on (EX. Engi's Grenade Launcher has the extra dice apply to the blast), so the bonus die should work in the same way with the Breach Cutter. Johnno, feel free to fact check me
That's insanely powerful in that case. R5, shoots through walls, and every bonus die he finds can quintuple dip. If that's how it is, then fair enough. RiP future glyphids.
I'd have to check if it made it into the 2nd ed rulebook's faq/easily forgotten rules section, but it is in the faq by the game designer on BGG. Bonus dice inherit the weapon function as Sonvek said, so yea smacks hard on AoE weapons
Is there a reason for doing that, instead of just granting another damage die to applied like "normal"? Just curious why that was decided. Seems like AOE weps just scale insane compared to normal ones.
Almost lost lol. Had a partial success. (It was Haz 1 )
It's not too insanely overpowered though since you rarely manage to group/line up enemies for AoE.
It simplifies play when you roll all the attack dice at once, instead of first aoe and then bonus
I mean it would be rolling 2 dice vs 2 dice
In theory AoE weapons scale faster, but in normal play you are more likely to want to sink the bonus die into your targeted enemy, or adjacent, and AoE rarely gets to feeling too powerful
Yes but point of AoE is it hits everything, so you'd first have to deal AoE damage to all and then roll bonus to apply separately.
Either way, designer's ruling
When breaking eggs that says for each tunnel exit rolls 2 creature die. Does it mean roll the 2 creature dice on each tunnel. So 2 tunnels 2 times 2 dice or just 1 time ?
its 2 dice per tunnel exit
including the ones without numbers in space rig, and the number 3 exit that one of the hidden tiles has
So iwill have to trow the 2 dice twice
For the 2 tunnel exit
Well im in luck got nothing and a bite , and the other 2 blanks
So, me & a friend have played all mission (all haz 5, besides when we began, then we did haz1), have done the full deep dive (on haz 5).
To keep the game alive, we made our own modifiers (just like the real game), and here's what we did:
Firstly, the system is, you spin both the Warning Wheel, and then the Bonuses Wheel. On both of those wheels, you got the 3 anomalies (there are only 14 missions, else you'd never see those).
If the Warning & the Bonus cancel each other out, then you spin both wheels again, because bleh.
Here's what we cooked up, thought I'd share, & if anything's to powerful (because we've not tried these yet), please do let know lmao.
Warnings
1. Productive Swarm = Every "activate all creatures" = move & attack.
2. Tight Budget = After the mission, no permission to use gold to resupply.
3. Double event = grab 2 event cards
4. Double swarm = grab 2 swarm cards
5. Tethered = Tether 5 spaces long (in between)
6. Deadly Status = Status effect (like webbed, stunned or downed) + 1 hit
7. Oppressed = Oppressor immediately spawn at the furthest exit from the droppod.
8. Snowed-in = only move 2 spaces
9. Triple Trouble = always add the 3rd enterance ground
10. Pre-Pretorian = always add the Pretorian ground
Bonuses
1. Steeve's back! = Every swarm includes one Steeve (options: grunt, Slasher or Mactera)
2. Extreme Rock & Stone = always draw 2 Rock & Stone cards.
3. Miner's minerals = choose where to place the minerals
4. Lucky = always double the loot die.
5. Bluetooth Ammo = exchange ammo at any distance at time.
6. Clearance Sale = reduce the cost of 1 resupply by one nitra/gold.
7. Buddy Bosco = add bosco to the team, each player get's one Bosco action
8. 20/20 vision = add 1 range to all weapons & grenades
9. Copy Cats = add one passive from other (not selected) dwarve(s).
10. Overheal = you can overheal + you start with one extra HP.
Anomalies
**1. Mayhem **Double ALL dice
2. Dungeons & Dwarves = roll D20 to see if hit (0-10 = miss, 11-20 = hit)
3. By the Ancestors = you *have to kill the last bug that knocked you down, BUT you gain 1 extra dice for that attack.
(By the Ancestors because we both play 40k, & my army is the LoV, so I had to add something 40k related)
(I just installed some wheel spinning app, but this is what the wheel system looks like)
I've never looked in this chat, so if anyone already has thought of this, or you've already made this sort of system, I'm really curious to what modifiers y'all have cooked up! (that way I can add more to the wheels lol)
Anyways may the dice favor y'all <3
Does the stingtail hook you if he roll a blank ?
Yes
Hi everyone, good evening.
I unfortunately lost the turret of my engineer to my DRG board game and I would like to get a replacement. I saw during the kickstarter in 2014 they added the STL files to the pledges but I was unfortunately too late to the game.
Is there a way to obtain them today? I'd really like to get the engineer's turret back.
Thanks in advance!
IIRC you can email MOOD directly to ask about purchasing the STL files
I'll try to do that.
I somehow got caught on a reddit post where several people said they contacted MOOD for those files and that the response from the publisher was rather dismissive.
Of course, it is reddit and I shouldn't let that demotivate me.
I emailed them, crossing my fingers.
Thanks !
Does anyone have some good 3d prints to upgrade their deep rock boards? I'm looking for some fun additions to add to my board to make it feel more alive
Check out etsy. There's one with an led boarder which looks pretty neat. One for the space rig too
went back and got the link for the LED boards: #drg-board-game message
I painted my oppressor! I'm a beginner in painting minifigs and I'm pretty proud of this one!
I still have some adjustments to do but that's the first coat
I recently bought the game and I've been playing with my family, it's really fun!
ill give ya 30$
for it
I'm not selling but I really appreciate it!
$31
35$ TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT
nah, but for real tho, that's nice.
wish i could paint the absolute ton of minis that i have
Why not? Is it that you don't have the time or you're scared of not being good enough? If it's the latter I'd say don't worry! The most important thing is to have fun. I find it quite relaxing to paint miniatures
time i can make, practice i can make also, what i lack are the paints, brushes, primers, surface area, ventillation and calm environment to dedicate myself to the craft.
Yeah... It can be expensive as well with all the paint
Only one of those things can't be easily fixed. 2nd hand paints / cheapo sets that aren't known brands, cheapo brushes, paint on primer solves ventilation/primer situation, I myself paint at my desk by pushing my computer keyboard back a bit... calm environment is the tricky part.
'wish' might have been a strong word, but 'i'd like to but i can't be arsed and i'd rather spend my money on other things' was, admittedly, a bit long.
The only real motivation to tackle painting them would be that they could look fantastic when painted as people here repeatedly show
But the hurdle is big enough to push it to the side for some other life / situation in life ๐
If I don't paint them, I don't need to worry about scratching the paint off when storing them
๐ ๐
and that's exactly why I don't pain them myself because I know the worries isn't worth it (for me anyway)
I've yet to put any painted minis back into the box, and likely won't (they're all on a display shelf). Will have to buy some foam padding to use instead (or liberate one of my old 40k miniature cases, stash those minis elsewhere)
I paint them because im spending way too much screen time when studying or gaming and to relax my head after my exhausting semesters. I am enjoying it even though most of my paints are kinda trash.
I played with some friends today. The grabber attack event card saved my friend by dragging him across half the map and dropping him next to me so I could pick him back up right away
Never thought an enemy card could be this useful
I plan on painting mine to get my money's worth, with how pricey this game is I figured its only really worth it if I get hobby time through painting as well
Painting is recommended and fun, try Army Painter ( they are danish too =). I painted the Engineer and Scout for my two siblings. In colors they loved. Engineer went full purple with mauve gold metal details and brown boots, gloves, and flashlight with red fluorescent pain that glow by shining UV light at it. Scout I painted black with orange gloves, boots, with steel metal details and flahslight with blue fluorescent paint. I also painted a glyphid grunt each for them with cool white markings on their shells. Dots and triangles I think. Purple- black and red-orange
sadly, as many times as people keep clicking on links they shouldnt, install stuff they shouldnt, or otherwise get their account credentials stuffed by signing into fake sites.
ah, so infinite
I mean... there are how many people on the server? that many potentially.
always click unknown links. there could be candy inside!
I swear to Karl, not a single store has the board game in stock
It's in stock on Mood Publishing website though
I believe its quite rare to see it in retail stores. At least in the country i live in.
I've seen it here... In the biggest board game shop in the country, conveniently located right below the MOOD offices. ๐
Pretty convenient ngl
If I had a nickel for every time I came across Deep Rock Galactic in a board game shop, I would have two nickels
Minutes after sending that message I found it on their website lol, rock and stone
Really happy to get that "lock in" email this morning
whats so special about lock in?
Shipping getting closer. If they don't lock in your address they can't send you the pledge.
I mean isnt shipping still not actually expected for a month?
2 months actually
still cool to see but I wont be hyped until it gets super close to being in my hands lol
It's a lot closer now than before
Hi everyone! I contacted MOOD publishing to aquire the STLs of the game but I haven't heard from them in 5 days. Has anyone had experiece with contacting them before? Do you know how long it may take for them to answer?
It didn't take long for me to get a response from them. Within the day at least. It was for something else however
The confirmation email said 10-14 days, so just wait for it. Your request might reset if you ask again and you'll have to wait longer
Interesting because after I sent them an email, I never received an automated reply saying it is being worked...
I used the right email address right out of their website ...
Maybe check your spam?
I did I did, nothing ... I will try to send again.
For what it's worth: they just did an email blast to lock in the addresses for the Rival Incursion and Horrors of Hoxxes campaign, so they're likely swamped with requests
Yeah ... Lucky me ๐
Still pissed at my friend who lost my turret miniature ๐ข
Thats.. ugh, yeah a gut punch. i assume you have searched for it? Backtraced where it could be. If I had a spare, would love to send you one. Maybe someone could even 3D print one for you?
I have a 3d printed one I can shoot out and send you. Or if youโd like and are patient I can print a finer detail one with my A1 and send that. Just want to help.
I have to question Mood's marketing team with the new Kickstarter campaign regarding the add-on board game miniatures. I guess they don't care, but it seems like they are throwing away money locking the board game miniatures behind at least a $90 pay wall. Instead of possibly hundreds of people buying the add-on at $30, I bet there would be 1000s of people that would buy it because they love the board game, but don't want to spend that kind of money on collectible figures just to get the add-on.
Is the board game worth getting into in 2026?
I bought the base game in early January and have since purchased all expansions. Great game for me. I'd watch a couple of playthroughs on YouTube to see if it looks like your kind of game. I usually can't watch a full playthough of most games before gettign bored, but I watched three all the way through for this game then decided it was my kind of game.
I think you're exaggerating the interest in the alternative board game miniatures. I've been showing off my custom board game minis for 4 years now, and MOOD have shown them off as well on their facebook/instagram, yet the interest in them has been near zero.
During KS campaigns as well nobody's really been asking for alternative Dwarf miniatures.. as said, for 4 years. Except that one guy with repeated demands for female Dwarves.
I personally doubt that 1000s of people would have wanted essentially the Scout with an alternative weapon (GK2), and Engineer with a secondary... while the Gunner and Driller are the same as we already have in the board game.
If there had been interest in the past, as much interest as there was in the comments section of the large figurines, I'm sure MOOD would have considered making alternative Dwarf miniatures for the board game. Now instead it was just a "might as well" response since so many people all of a sudden asked.
Judging from the campaign material, it looks like they'll be available outside the campaign, since it's saying there's a "campaign discount".
Fellow dwarves, I have acquired it!
such beautiful boxart
Any info when the New expansions and the Playmat will be lauched
What do you mean launched? You mean the Kickstarter?
Finished August last year. Delivering soonโข
The biome playmat rival escalation and horror of hoxes
I'm guessing you want to know when they will be shipped.
Shipping will start soon, as we have just gotten the update to lock in the addresses.
Yeah ... We played until very late at night. I searched everywhere. I think somehow, we must've mixed it with the snacks trash and somehow threw it out ... It sucks.
Thanks mate I appreciate the sentiment.
I could actually print on is just that I don't find the STLs anywhere and the guys from MOOD publishing support don't answer my emails ๐
That's awesome, how did you print it? Do you have the STL file? I also have a couple of friends with printers here in the near by me so I could theoretically also get it printed here, it's just I need the file to print.
@final sparrowYou could grab a freebie turret (video game model) off thingiverse, or I can extract it for you if you wish. Will need a bit of tweaking in blender to thicken the thin parts tho at that scale
EXPLODER !
Don't talk to me or my son ever again
๐
Hey guys, this metal token is not listed in the list of components in the manual of the space rig expansion.
Does anybody here know what it is for?
That was a bonus for backing in the first 24 hours, so no purpose it is just a cool coin
Ok! Cool thanks
Do downed dwarves still increase the swarm threat while a dreadnaught is on the board?
id say yes because the dreadnaught should only pause event cards and not the swarm threat board by any means
You can play either way, increase swarm threat but then don't draw a Dreadnought card, or don't increase swarm threat but do draw Dreadnought card.
I've personally even played increase swarm threat AND draw Dreadnought card.
Purely rules as written you're drawing Dreadnought cards instead of Event cards, and since downed Dwarves don't draw Event cards they wouldn't draw Dreadnought cards either, but increase swarm threat.
Well we only did swarm threat and we got an oppressor, so safe to say it was a doomed run
Finished up painting the minis, now they're ready to stone & rock!
does anyone wanna play the drg board game on tabletop simulator?
its on steam for 20 bucks and drg board game is in the workshop
Thats.. news to me, might check it out later some day. Usually I play solo gunner with the physical boardgame version, while listening/ watching GSG or other DRG content creator streams etc
Hello, does anyone have any recommendations as to how to place everything back in the box efficiently?
Yea donโt! Get a wall display for the minis and keep the rest in the base game boxโฆlol.
I spent lots of time trying different orientations for the expansions but it was hard to get into one box.
I only own DRG 2nd edition, it was. A birthday gift from my boyfriend.
I wasnโt even aware there were expansions
I'm trying to solve that myself rn
Making a model of a Cantilever box that would fit in the original case and hold the first two expansions (probably with some lid lift though)
The only way I could figure out was to use the base game box for all the cards and tokens. Minis take up so much room.
Hey all,
Was playing DRG the board game last night (after a long time) and it was awesome! But also got reminded how "annoying" it is to switch between the creature data cards, and the rulebook to see all their rules. I Honestly don't understand why they didn't use the huge blank area at the bottom of every creature for this information... or made the cards a bit larger?
Will the new expansions include better creature cards?
Oh, and a rule question! does the Warden protect itself with its shield?
No
They could have made the rules so much better by simply adding "excluding itself"... from the text it sounds like every creature within 3 spaces of it... well, isnt the Warden also within range of 3 spaces? ๐
thanks for the clarification, we played the extra hard mode then!
Missed out on the 1st Edition creature board
Best I can tell it was due to the change between the creature sheet and the cards, in short order during a campaign, after "player feedback" where none of the players who complained about the large creature sheet went through the bother of actually outlining exactly what they wanted.
Thus it fell on some graphic designer who likely didn't play the game enough to know exactly what was necessary info to have at a glance, on top of having limited space on the card. Would have turned out much better if players actually gave proper feedback and examples, instead of whining and crying that the large creature sheet was too "clumsy".
And no, the new expansions likely won't include any better creature cards, considering what we already had in the Biome expansion.
Beyond which, it took what, like 2 years for a player to make creature cards to upload to BGG, and even then they just copied all the text and made it super tiny, instead of putting in the effort to rewrite the text properly. It takes a lot of effort to get things right, and if nobody in a community of at least 20,000+ people can be bothered, well that shows just how much effort it would be. It's easy to sit and complain, not so easy to actually do it. We would've been better off just letting them do additional large creature boards.
After playing for a while I read the creature rules less and just use the cards for the basics
Nice to line them up in activation order and take away whatever's eliminated from the board
yes it makes setup so much easier. you still have to move the pieces on your own but i imagine we both know the rules failry well at this point
ill be playing the board game on tabletop sim if anyone wants to try it out
Not really, have the first edition with the big board, it had its own problems...
I agree, the creature cards are a letdown. There is an upload on BGG that is a reference sheet for pretty much everything you could think of in the game. It's not the most eye pleasing, but it works well and you can definitely have it open on a phone or tablet to remind yourself
I dont understand the Shellback does he only attacks from range. Can anyone explain who he works
If it activates within 5 spaces of a Dwarf/target it'll move up to 5, to get adjacent, and then attack , with ! knocking Dwarves back 1 space. If the Shellback can't get adjacent but is within range it'll use a ranged attack instead, ignoring ! results.
And since it moves and attacks it can potentially attack twice during Fast Critters.
So fast critter it will hit with the knockback and then ranged or it will be double knockback? So double melee
It won't move again since it already moved, it'll attack either ranged or in melee without the knockback as its second attack.
Yep
Ouch
Also you got the space rig the 1st character upgrade does it apply to all dwarfs or just the one that made the progression move
Perhaps this was already answered somewhere I just donโt know where so sorry if thatโs the case. Super excited for horrors of hoxes and rival incursion expansions to arrive!
Will there be more mixed missions booklets for not only between the new expansions but the first set as well?
Example: rival incursion + biome expansion? Or horrors of hoxxes + space rig?
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/moodpublishing/deep-rock-galactic-rivals-and-horrors-of-hoxxes/posts/4444692
"Weโre planning to create new official mixed missions, designed to bring deadly twists to your games. These will be released as PDFs and offer new combinations, perfect for squads looking to shake things up without building everything from scratch. We'll share more info once the process has begun."
We have no other info than that at this time.
Thanks for sharing that link youโve always been a legend in this channel
Question; If I did not pledge during the kickstarter for the following; Horrors of Hoxxes, Rival Incursion, Shockwyrm. Can I do a late pledge has of now or is that not possible? Can I still get the Kickstarter goodies for those Expansions or not? (Sorry if the spelling/ phasing is bad.)
<@&296918282403840000>
sorry however i think this is not possible anymore since the KS has ended
You'll have to contact MOOD directly and ask them if you can still late pledge or pre-order. I know that they have some stuff on their web store, but it's very likely that the kickstarter exclusives are not available outside the campaign.
Alright, thanks. I emailed asking for a late pledge, hoping they allow ot
I emailed them about this same thing the end of December. It took about four weeks for them to respond and tell me sorry they can't. By the time they had responded, I had already purchased everything from MOOD's online store or EBAY anyway, but without the Kickstarter extras.
Alright, thanks even more, bummed out a bit but I guess that's fine. Have a great day brother.
Timing is everything with these things. Maybe you will get lucky and they will have some extra stock due to cancelations.
Hopefully, just gotta hope.
the board game needs its own lfg chat
people need to get tabletop simulator on steam
@spare cradle i have the simulator
TTS is playable through Remote Play, so don't necessarily have to buy it as long as the host has it, just have to play 'hotseat' style
Anyone have recommendations for ways to carry the contents of the board game around more easily than the boxes that the game and expansions come in? Specifically the miniatures. The boxes have been somewhat wearing over time and I'd rather not use them for transport anymore, and the trays inside I worry might take damage if not in a fitted box. Plus it would be nice to just have everything in one or two boxes rather than having to sort through 6 different boxes (more once the rivals expansion is shipped) if I want to use all the expansion content (which I normally do).
I am looking for a solution myself, but figured I'd ask as to not reinvent the wheel.
A lot of people transport miniatures in some kind of army transport box
not specifically these but here are some random google pics I found
The right one is meant for a magnetized setup if thats something your thinking about
Yeah, looks neat. I imagine those boxes/ cases have bigger slots for bigger means. Think dreadnaught and praetorian glyphids. I have these awesome Feldherr storage packs, though filled to the brim with DnD minis at the moment
Yeah, plus some people make their own by just cutting up a sheet of foam
How will the Shockwyrm be able to spawn?
Event or Swarm card, seem to recall it was mentioned somewhere during the Kickstarter but I'd have to go digging to see which it was.
Thnx
Is wasn't another cave one like the Korlok?
No, it's like the Bulk Detonator
Does shockwyrm swap the event draw or do you draw its cards when creatures activate?
On the store page it says you draw Shockwyrm cards instead of event cards. This could change though
Man i hope we get to see the BG exclusive enemies in the videogame aswell. Fighting the shockwyrm ingame would be absolute kino.
true
Some of them can't translate well, like the septic spreader in game vs the hammer in the boardgame, but I can't see an issue with the shockwyrm showing up in a later season
Not outside the realm of possibilities. The Stingtail was created for the board game, and Ghost Ship like the idea so much they added it to the video game months before the Biome expansion was released
The Stingtail has also been my mortal enemy since
On-release stingtail haunts my dreams...
I'm really proud of my webspitter! I might like it more than my oppressor.
The bright colors are sweeeet
<@&296918282403840000>
damn this channel is a magnet for scam bots
They post server wide, in all channels they have access to.
ah I only pay attention to this one
Shockwyrm would be neato in DRG
me too, man. Me too.
Played my 3rd round of the board game yesterday and started painting some of the minis. Really enjoyable so far
these minis are GORGEOUS
damn, looks really fun
i cant wait any longer i rlly hope it arrives in q2 still and doesnt have to get delayed again ๐ญ
Well done! I need to get back painting too but I am too busy with some secret DRG related projects ๐ Checkout my Soundboard for DRG in case you havent heard about it! https://www.drg-soundboard.com lots of new stuff coming to it soon ๐
Do you guys think we will ever see rogue core expansion for this?
By the beard I hope so, great idea, why not. I am all for it !
i would love it as well
yeah the corespawn would be cool but im not sure how they would be different from regular glyphids
me neither but it could be interesting
I hope so! Or a seperate game. I could definitely imagine fun rogue like elements, like random selection of primary and secondary weapons and negotiating your upgrades
Also has potential! or maybe just a modification of the current game just like with the space rig expansion
Yeah for sure. That could work as well. I must admit I have played a lot more rogue core than DRG, so Iโm definitely rooting for a rogue core board game ๐
hahaha well thats 1 developer on our side
I was thinking about the board game recently and was thinking about how to potentially add rockpox stuff?
has anybody else thought of if that's a potential add on?
yeah i thought that might be an expansion in the future or part of one. Maybe a season expansion with all the season events
however rival incursion is now a seperate one lol
Nice stuff! I like how you can choose which class to hear the voices from
Dad's Gaming Addiction (look him up on youtube) made his own Rockpox 'expansion', actually if you search for "DGA rockpox" on youtube you'll find a video. Not sure if he made a public TTS mod.
But yeah it's been thought of and prototyped a few times over.
Is spacerig expansion worth getting over biome?
Hotly discussed and people always pick one or the other for various reasons.
Those that missed having a proper campaign play (and felt deep dives were lackluster) choose spacerig, while people who wanted more monster/biome variety pick Biome. I'm personally also biased toward the new primary weapons in Biome.
Ah okay I was thinking of getting spacerig but changed to biome
Sort of depends how much you play, and if you feel that you want a campaign instead of individual missions after each other.
My game is the standard version and having a mixture of standee and figures look rly annoying lmao
There are some interesting things in Spacerig, such as challenges and gear upgrades.
Ah okay
My friend has a 3D printer Iโm thinking of getting the stl files but idk if itโs worth the cost + plastics cost
In the end it probably ends up costing about the same, especially when you factor in time spent.
Same as a deluxe edition that is.
Problem about getting deluxe for me is there is none in my country and I have to order them in
And the shipping price is so expensive
Also I donโt know what to do with the standard edition after that lol
Ah right well in that case 3d printing may be the cheaper option.
I've for years been on the edge about buying a standard edition to supplement my deluxe, just to have more tiles, more cards, more .. of everything, for custom missions. But eh, with expansions it's enough.
Oh lmao
here's a list of all the expansions I both have and will be getting
Space Rig, Biome, Bulk Detonator, Korlock Tyrant Weed, Goo From Above, Game Mat, Rival Incursion, Horrors of Hoxxes
Trying to set up all my custom DRG board game minis for a picture... realising I have too many.
lies. never too many.
also, you've gotten incredible with your painting
Thank you, slow process over time. Also resin prints help a lot, hard to paint details on crummy filament prints
i see gobwins
is that a fake mustache/nose set on one lol
Yes.
Engineer has fake moustache/nose/glasses... scout has fake beard... gunner has fake beard and toupee...
Driller just has bunny ears and will be drilling wildly so nobody sees her through the dust.
art
shirt and trousers wrapped around a walker frame
Think this gobbo engineer is the model that took me the longest time ever.
I love how that shirt looks
Bosco ain't playing anymore
can someone post this reference guide from BGG? I'd rather not make an account just for a single file
oh YES the tabletop sim version added toggles for the expansions
this makes setting up individual expansions a million times easier
Guys for the stl file (base game + goo bomber) can someone estimate the total weight of all the stuff when 3D printed (all the creatures, stalagmite, mules, turret) etc
Depends heavily on material used, infill, if you hollow out the model or not. You'll get wildly different results depending on all that.
A grunt is about 5g with the plastic my friend uses
hey so, i'm trying to paint my rammers but i'm not sure what colors to use, any suggestions?
Do you wanna Freestyle or stay true to the rammer design?
I've seen a few paintjobs that make it look like a cool mushroom
maybe a bit of freestyle on one and i'll try the true design on the other
but for the true design? i am not sure bout what to use
This was my interpretation from what I saw in the first art released. You could really go any which way since it's so hard to tell from the art, purple-ish in the cover art and green-ish in the creature list art.
Have anyone have done a Playtru using the space rig progression system im kind of lost on it
How did you make the lines on the face so straight
Yep, what're you lost on?
Just hand painting and patience
So does the progression tracker move +1 even if the mission is lost and the challenges when you complete it does it discard itself or stays active untill end of mission ?
The reward track advances +1 even if the mission is a failure, the assignment track does not. You replay the mission with new challenges, modifiers, etc.
Challenges stay until the end of the mission unless something else is specified on them. Some end at a certain swarm for example.
Also does the rewards apply to 1 dwarf that made the tracker move for the reward or all dwarf get the reward like for examplw character upgrade?
It's different for the different rewards, you'll have to read them under Reward Types.
Im not a good painter but if its about the concept
Its look devine
For whatever it's worth, this is how I did mine.
have there been any updates on shipping yet? not sure if i missed anything
On june
In the space rig the character upgrade that gives +1 primary Weapon and the other that gives 1+ scondary does it mean that i dwarf will have 3 weapons on the mission ?
Yes
Oh thats strong
A friend that plays driller will have a field day when he can bring Corrosive pump+Hydro cannon
They gave us an update that they would soon give us some estimates per region
they sent this april 21st
Luckily we will probably get our may update soon
Given the current... turmoil in the world, it seems fair that they've provide month updates around the 20th
doesn't make sense to do weekly updates... "Hey everyone! Nothing's changed! Stay tuned!" "Hey everyone, everything's still on hold, stay tuned!" "Hey ever... anyway, you get the idea.
I've seen plenty of people clamoring for exactly this, because they're neurotic and think they've been forgotten about.
This is the cards in space rig that im confused. Rock mountain does it give reroll be get blank. And rock plaster does it mean for example supply pod have 1 HP cube and you take it, will you get 2 HP from the outside storage and the challenge does it mean dwarf must collect 1 mineral and kill a creature no grunt?
Rocky Mountain: You must roll 1 hit when carving out a wall, and may then add 1 hit to do something else with, when carving out a wall.
Red Rock Blaster: yes, you must be able to take 1 hp cube from the resupply, to then be allowed an extra 2.
Challenge: each turn that you collect at least 1 mineral and kill 1 non-grunt enemy, you gain 1 reward track space. Doesn't matter how many enemies you kill, or how many minerals you pick, it's just 1 space per turn.
That extra 1 rock mountain can be use to carve another adjacent wall or deal 1 dmg to a adjacent enemy?
Wonder if loot bugs count. Killing a creature AND collecting 1-2 minerals in one turn
lootbugs dont count as creatures
Anyone play The board game on Table top simulator
I've been working on some 3d-projects for the Boardgame
(Mainly focussed on reducing setup time)
This is the first project I've completed so far:
Cool!
woah those look clean
do you happen to sell the files..
It's a Passion Project of mine, so I'm willing to send the Files for Free
I've never Shared any of my projects online tho
Does anyone know if I'm allow to Share the File through this Discord Server?
I would recommend uploading it to whatever site you like most and sharing the link
also how come some bugs with 2 health have 3 spaces for cubes and others only have 2? same goes for the one with 7 health that you gave 6 spaces
its likely for if multiple of that bug are on the board
I see now
and the rows separate them too thats cool
too bad Ill probably forget which one has which health lol
correct
I also only track Glyphid-Heath with 'Damaged' Enemies, so that's why it's always 1 lower
(It also takes way to much space with larger Health Glyphids to keep track of ALL health)
Well, guess Discord is my Favorite Site
I do want to share some Pro's and Con's of this Card Holder:
+No longer need to Individually sort/place the Cards Manually
+Glyphid Health can be shown in a more 'structured' way
+Most Important info is still visible
-Health Display covers specific Abilities from certain Glyphids
-Card Holder barely doesn't fit within the Original Box (kinda, only when bending the cardboard-Box a little bit)
-Need a 3d-printer that can print 300mm (301.5mm to be exact)
Here are the STL-Files:
lol I meant like thingiverse, printables, makerworld, etc but that works too
Woah, that is really cool!
If there's one thing I'd maybe change is make the health tracker a sliding panel so you could still view the creatures' attacks
Still really awesome though
Oh looks very nice
Thank youuu!
That's actually a really great idea
Also, I thought that I was Satisfied with the Final design
But the more i look the more I want to change some small things
Might update the design a bit and send the updated Files
I'm not the best painter, but these came out ok
By Karlโs beard, they look great!
<@&296918282403840000> Execute this bot
show us his beard
They're an audio designer, so maybe they already have, using sounds
Played the board game for the first time over the weekend!
