#drg-board-game
1 messages · Page 15 of 1
Guys I won the deep rock galactic board game in a raffle
I got it practically for free at a local comic book store
awsome
If that were me, that would've been one of the moments of my life!
It would certainly make my Christmas and change that of my extended family 😅
How many rounds could I force upon them on one Christmas evening? 🙃
Just got the board game for Christmas 😃
Merry Yuletide, miners! Management wants you to enjoy your unpaid holidays, ending tomorrow.
On a different note: thanks for your answers on my last request. I've set up an answer, but due to being convinced by the feedback I found a different, probably better form to incorporate the data into a cheat-sheet. (It's still wip, though, so I couldn't paste it here.)
While analyzing the rulebooks some more I also thought of additional questions:
The refinery is said to block placement of platforms, ziplines, resupply pods, and sentries.
- It is not stated, but it would make sense: does that also apply for the mine head?
- Can platforms not already only be put on deep pits, making the mentions unnecessary?
- Does the zipline-rule mean I cannot put zipline-tokens on the refinery (same as 2.) or that I cannot start or end a zipline from the refinery (if a deep pit is adjacent)?
Merry Yuletide to all miners!
I don't know if anyone have seen this already, another miner released a soundboard for the board game with a lot of sounds, this time it's on a website
Checkout the reddit post, I think it's pretty good: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/comments/1pk6s3q/soundboard_for_the_boardgame_v10_shouts_creatures/
Refinery was introduced alongside Biomes, and in that expansion you can use ziplines and platforms on certain tiles that aren't deep pits. In the base game it was simple, platforms and ziplines go on deep pits, so Minehead didn't need exceptions.
Does that mean the expansions override base rules and these apply to the mine head also?
They don't need to override base rules. Base rules themselves explain how you place ziplines and platforms. You're only allowed to place them on deep pit tiles.
Minehead isn't a deep pit tile.
The difference would be that you can place Sentry guns and resupply pods on the minehead, while you can't on the refinery.
anyone know if you can buy all the 3d minatures separately? and how much would it cost?
You can't, no. You can buy the 3d STL files and print the miniatures, or have someone print them for you, but if you factor in time and materials (unless you get someone to do it for below material/work cost) you'll be paying more than buying the deluxe edition.
where can i buy the STL files? sorry ive looked online and cant find anything
support@moodpublishing.com They used to have them on Backerkit after campaigns but didn't do a late pledge this time. They've said they're gonna have them on their webstore later but dunno when that might be.
i might just buy a 3d printer
theres no card board version of enemies from biome expansion right?
also please be careful with that because 3d printers take a lot of time to learn.. a lot of time
There's no cardboard version of any enemy except the base game.
Sad
i already have a decent knowledge of 3d modelling like in blender, but never with stl
thats fine but printing is another thing
and i cant find the stl files anywhere 😩
well resin printers are kinda ok to handle but you need to figure out good enviroment to not poison yourself (and anyone else)
blender can export .blend files as .stl, so you probably don't have to worry about it
I know with bambu lab software it can fix some errors in models pretty well
unsure about other 3d printer software tho
The board game STL files are a paid for product, so can't share nor upload them willy nilly. What you could do however is create your own, from the DRG video game files, as I've done with Dwarves.
oh my god thats genius ill have a look at that
I made a huuli hoarder for example, when it was only a text event in the board game. Now in the latest expansion there's a miniature as well.
wow that looks sick
how did you get the models? would i have to watch a tutorial
There might be videos out there, I found some info on the DRG modding discord and then used heaps of elbowgrease (ie trial and error) to make it work. Fair bit of setting things up, learning as you go.
There used to be a guide in the guides section on Steam, might still be there.
thankyou so much, im gonna spend some time on this
Did you export maybe some cool dlc loadouts?
And care to share :p
thats so cool, are they custom models???
Yep, some are just from the video game, like the Scout and Driller, but the females are obviously custom
I did go bit nuts and made some custom Goblins as well
did you 3d model them yourself?
Nah was a Goblin model I got online, but did rig it so I could make different poses.
that is so sick
I also started on a Colonial Dwarves team, inspired by Aliens.
Imagination's the limit
i didnt even think about using custom models this is amazing
wow this is great
Ya need to remake the predator scene where they’re all just shooting into the forest
Is the teal one a reference to another character ? Looking a little like Rebbeca from Cyberpunk
Or Miku
Yup
Nice
oh cool didnt knew there was an actual board game of drg, i just saw some bugs minis online and thought just a fan did them and used them for like 40k or so as they are so similar of course xD
It’s pretty cool
Rule question:
Can scouts use the zipline and move through creatures at the same time?
(I hope I get it right this time. @royal nacelle wish me luck!)
Reasoning:
- Ziplines allow to move several spaces as one step (which I call the part of the movement).
- The rule for ziplines does not state dwarves may not go through creatures this way.
- However, the basic rules for movement do!
- The scout's rules specify the scout can move through creatures (as long as he doesn't end his turn on an occupied space) anyway.
- Therefore, the scout can use the zipline disregarding creatures in zipline-spaces while other dwarves can't.
Additional reasoning:
- In the spacerig expansion, the pipes specifically prohibit the scout's ability to move through creatures while using the pipes.
- If the designer(s) wanted the same prohibition for ziplines, they could have written it in the base rules.
- We assume this is intentional (and not an oversight).
- Therefore, <see claim>.
Did I get this right?
Nope. You can't use the grappling hook and zipline at the same time. You have to use the grappling hook to utilize its rules, hence you won't be using the zipline's movement saving aspect.
You're getting into rules lawyering aspect, especially with "if the designer wanted they could have written...". They could've written a watertight rulebook that takes up every minute detail and explains everything in absolutes, but that would've made the rulebook many times longer.
Where does it say the scout can not use both?
The expansions' rules are in some ways more descriptive, specifically because people had so many questions that required an FAQ (even if the questions were already simply answered in the rulebook). So yeah, there are some differences in just how specified things are later on.
I see why that is not practical. (I have yet to get even one of my friends to read the whole thing!)
But also, didn't you tell me on my last question that the rules of the expansion don't extend the base rules simply by similarity (like the mine head and the refinery, with the latter saying sentries can't be placed on it)? In the scout-zipline-question we have the zipline and the pipe being similar and the "scout can't use grappling hook to evade creatures"-part suddenly applies? (Or rather: is written for redundancy with the pipe, maybe due to other people mistaking the rules as I did, yet not detailing the rules for ziplines)
I mean... We have one rule which describes a permission, another which also does, an no rule (as far as I can see) which describes a prohibition to use both simultaneously. 🤷♀️
You get a clear conflict between how the rules work. You can't follow the grappling hook's wording while also using the zipline. So by all means use the grappling hook while ziplining, but count your movement since that's what the grappling hook says.
There's also no permission to use the zipline from midair, so your use cases would be limited.
I fail to see how I "can't follow the grappling hook's wording while also using the zipline."
Zipline Launcher: "[...] Any Dwarf can use the move action to move using the deployed zipline.
This always counts as 1 space of movement, regardless of how long the zipline is. [...]"
Grappling Hook: "The Scout can move through obstacles like creatures, stalagmites and deep pits without issue, [...]. You’re still limited to 3 spaces per movement, including deep pit and creature spaces."
If the zipline is used, it counts as only one step. If there is a creature on any of the zipline-token-spaces, the scout may move through.
So, wait. I think I get what you mean.
If the scout were to use the blocked zipline, he would have to get off and on mid-way, in order to use the grappling hook to evade the creature. Entering or leaving a zipline is not permitted, therefore moving along ziplines while using a grappling hook is not permitted. (A proof by contradiction: Assume one could use both movements to circumvent creatures on ziplines as a scout, one still could not do that.)
If so, I must say I still need to know what part of the rules that states "movement via ziplines and movement via grappling hook are mutually exclusive", because the way I see it that assumption may follow rules as intended, definitely not as written, and I cannot make out whether that is even intended.
You can't count the zipline as one space, while also counting each deep space pit, and creature, as one space.
You also strictly speaking have no permission to leave the zipline whenever you want. Its use is specified. So again, the rules contradict eachother if you think it's intended that you can use the both at the same time.
So, are you saying: Each of those rules has a different way of counting the spaces of the movement. One includes the deep pits, including the creature's space, the other doesn't. That makes use of both at the same time incompatible. Is that it?
I think the wording of the grappling hook rule could still be interpreted so that this works: One zipline-step from the start to the end of the zipline, as it counts as basic movement, improved by the first sentence of the grappling-hook-rule: The scout does not get blocked by obstacles.
The counting of the spaces used with this movement could be applied after "warping space" by using the zipline.
Like this:
================================================================================================
#Space 0 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
================================================================================================
#Steps (Zipline) -----------------< not possible due to being blocked >-----------------
#Steps (Hook) 0 (Stand) - 1 - 2 - 3 (Cannot end turn on deep pit)
#Steps (Zipline+Hook) 0 (Stand) - - - - 1 (*)
================================================================================================
Miniature (Scout) - - (Creature) - -
Tokens - (Zipline) - (Zipline) - (Zipline) -
Terrain (Empty Ground) - (Deep Pit) - (Deep Pit) - (Deep Pit) - (Empty Ground)
================================================================================================
* Use Zipline, Scout is not blocked by creature, step does not count against "deep pit"- or "creature"-spaces, as it is one zipline-step
That's based on interpretation involving the logistics of using a grappling hook and a zipline at the same time. If these labels are removed (or replaced with abstract ones), this interpretation would be unviable. RAW: I still do not see where use of both is prohibited.
Feel free to play as you wish. They contradict eachother's use, which is why I said you can't. But if you want to go by rules as written, and write a 9 point list, and 10 times more text than the rules themselves, just to circumvent something that saves you one tile of movement and you'll be able to use once in 50 games, feel free to. This is just tiresome to me. It's another theoretical exercise in something that's not going to come into play.
It makes me disappointed you feel that way, but to each their own.
Obviously it’s not intended by the game designers you combine these two abilities, why rules lawyer over it?
I could be wrong here, but I saw it as a "teleport" move other than a "slide across" like with pipelines or smooth ice. True to the quote, "From A to D, skipping B and C" (But this time any class can do it
)
Meaning whatever enemies that are within the pit are ignored. Only the entrance and exit spaces need to be clear
And Scout could use the zipline even if both the entrance and exit were occupied, as long as he ends his movement action on a suitable space
guys whats the difference between hazard 3 and 4 in the board game
that's explained in the rulebook, as far as I'm aware
fairs, ive only just got the game havent managed to read everything yet and didnt know it was stated
both start on the same space of the swarm threat track, but on haz 4 you also have to deal with an extra grunt at each tunnel exit
Hazard 3-5 all start on the same swarm tracker position. Hazard 4-5 start with an extra grunt at each tunnel exit. Hazard 5 grunts deal 1 damage on '!'
Also the Swarm meter is almost over
So yeah...
Rock... and stone
Update: now we have a spitballer
And there is pvz gw2 music playing in the background
Resupplies
Holy Fucking Shit
That is an interesting house rule, allowing multiple supply drops at a time
I mean the original has it
Plus it allows for silly moments like those
With random shit on the board serving as drops
and I think theres no where in the rules specified theres can be only one resupply
There is. "If the supply pod is already in play, move it to the new location. Discard the previous supply pod card, along with any unclaimed supplies still in it."
About that
If you empty out a resupply, does it dissappear or does it stay on the board?
" Once the last of its contents have been collected, remove the supply pod from the board and discard the supply pod card"
Ok
There have been debate between my friends about that because there are some niche situations where you can use it as cover
Happened a few times that someone ordered a resupply to save themselves from a web spitter or spitball
It doesn't block line of sight. The only way to use it defensively is to have it adjacent in a tunnel, to protect you from melee creatures.
Aw man
Can't creatures walk cover the resupply so long as they don't end their movement on it?
Yes, hence you have to be in a 1 tile wide tunnel, adjacent to the resupply pod, and creatures on the other side, so they can't end their move on the resupply pod, and can't move to the other side of it.
But again, only works for melee creatures bigger than grunt. So if it's a grunt, then webspitter or mactera for example, they will still be able to shoot you.
Alright
We'll probably keep the resupply blocking vision rule just as a rule of cool deal but the rest makes sense
Also can players walk over the resupply or only the scout?
They can walk through it the same way they can walk through other Dwarves, or the Sentry Gun.
Because it counts as a friendly unit?
Well, unfortunatly for them, Im in possesion od the ultimate weapon. The home rulebook
Explody plants tested my patience more than I would've thought but calling them donezo
Looking forward to painting those “he said sarcastically”
Yeah they look edible enough
does anyone have some STL files I could 3d print for the board game?
I'm sure people do have them. you can also have them if you buy them from Mood Publishing.
i dont mind buying them at all, its just i cant find them available anywhere they dont have them on mood
Did you email support?
You might have to reach out directly to them at that email
they don't seem to have them listed on their website anymore
oh thats odd, so im assuming they dont sell them anymore?
No, i think they just don't have them listed.
They've sold them during their Kickstarter campaigns, and have said they intend to put them up on their website, but haven't done so yet. If you reach out to them directly they should be able to sell them to you.
because there's basically 3 "sets" of them so far, so i'm guessing they'd need to see what you're looking at getting...
So i'm guessing that involves a conversation about your need/want for which minis, etc.
alright thanks a lot guys 👍
Pew pew
thankyou this is good
Anyone knows when the sold out Expansions will be available again ? Seems like they have been sold out for over a year now.
Probably when they, the publisher, announces another kickstarter for new expansions/edition/etc and that'd be your chance to pick them up. They did that last time with the 2nd Edition release. Could also be a wholly new game and they'll offer it in their addons at pledge manager but not all publishers do that.
so unless i spawncamp a new release i wont get the expansions?
i don't see anything sold out
that is their store.
Generally i would add: MOOD refreshed their old stock ( of basegame / first series expansions / ....) with the following campaign. It is not an indicator if this will continue
korlok, detonator and goo bomber are not in stock and will probably not return? what a bummer
they're all on the site for me
idk what you're seeing
Korlok and detonator are in the top part, though i'm noticing that Goo from Above is sold out (you can likely contact Mood to get an estimated timeframe on restock)
idk, maybe it's a region/EU thing, i'm in NA and I see Bulk and Korlok available (screenshots above)
yeah seems like eu only
reach out them via email, they might be able to pull stock from other regions
every interaction i've had with their support team has been good, so there's really nothing to loose
also, you don't need to "spawncamp" the page... if you sign up for notification emails to any of the kickstarters they've done, they generally send out an email blast before the next campaign starts
thanks for the heads up
i'm in the EU
it seems like you are somehow in the wrong store?
if you are on mobile it might be a scrolling issue. the scrolling feature is a little bit finicky. You need to hit the correct button to scroll through it.
zoomed out view on their website
yeah the mentioned expansions are also sold out for you, the website shows correctly
My friends have no idea
They've returned multiple times, but if you don't want to wait there are multiple options. You could see if anyone in a region that has them in stock can buy them for you, and ship them over, you're paying extra shipping but at least you'd get them.
Else you could get the STL files and have them 3d printed, the rules for Goo from Above are available on Board Game Geek, and you could grab a screenshot from Tabletop sim to get the stats/rules for Korlok, and then use one of your normal hidden cave tiles for its deployment.
bro got hungry
What is a difference between being knocked down and stunned
Like both are: You cant do anything until you use up 2 actions
You can't help someone from being stunned. You can help someone who's knocked down, thus allowing them all their 3 actions on their turn.
You can also shoot over people who are knocked down, as they don't block line of sight, while stunned Dwarves do.
And being stunned doesn't mean you have to use two actions before taking your third, you literally only have one action. Whileas if you don't have 2 actions to spare when knocked down, you don't get up, and are still down next turn.
It says pre-order, because the new expansions don't exist yet. They are about to be build manufactured in china. And first shipping is in 26Q1. That is when they will have them in stock
The Kickstarter campaign (horrors of hoxxes + rival incursion + shockwyrm) just finished the funding in 25. they listed them in the store with the pre order tag to give people, that missed the KS campaign, the opportunity to preorder them
These are the ones that are showing sold out for you. That's the point they were making.
EU showing "Sold Out", while NA still appears to have some stock, since I can Add to cart those items.
Yeah send some over
hah, I would, but I'm all in on the last 3 campaigns, so i'm in no financial stance to 3rd party resell those
i see, sorry for misguiding.
Picked up the deluxe base game and a few expansions today!! My painting backlog is enormous but these guys are cutting to the front of the line 😈
(also resisting the strong urge to remove all of the mold lines)
I hate mold lines
I do too 😭 It feels like there are way too many models to clean each one super meticulously though.
I'm also super torn on colours- despite hundreds of hours in the game, I never realized grunts came in different colors! I perceived it as lighting differences in different biomes. The walls in glacial strata are blue, so grunts look more blue.
These look SO different in colour to me, also
lighting doing the heavy work
Can always have more 3d printed. Else some have painted 6 in one biome colour, 6 in another, and 6 in a third. I myself have regular brown, green, and black. Will perhaps do blue some day down the road.
Yooooooooo these are sick
Yeah it's the ambient lighting. There are the Glacial Strata and Radioactive Exclusion Zone variants (can also include Swarmers and Spawns if you want even more variety!)
ngl you could make a pretty sick ass dnd campaign with these
Man, a Brood Nexus that can make full-size grunts is. Horrifying I think
That poor Brood Nexus
Cannot wait to paint mine! Those look great!
who gets better dental care? grunts or dwarves?
(doing my best to clean up these mold lines)
Off topic, but you should have picked Mercy 🪨
Or widowmaker
I made a Template for Custom Drg-Mission using a Free Drawing-App (IBIS-PAINT)
Here are some of my favorites Custom made Mission I Playtested with Friends:
Hi all, do anyone have a link to a good printable 3d model of some rocks we can use as stalagmite , that fits on the board within each hex?
I know I'm coming to this late, but just saw the latest update - really like their solution to differing cave backs problem
Yeah they look sick
Agreed, simple but very nice solution to an issue they never thought about with multiple expansions
It would appear so, yes.
Anyone got an custom missions to share? Bought a ring binder and printing missions off for a custom made mission book.
Theres one or two in this chat's media
this looks amazing!
Should I buy it?
the board game? I'd recommend the base game to anyone, especially a DRG fan. It's a good time and easy to teach anyone. The various expansions and add-ons are good too, but the price is much higher relative to what you get, and so only really make sense if you already played the base game a lot and want more
Copy. With printed figures, right?
These well-made ones, not flat
I like painting models, so that would be my choice, yeah
I reckon everyone here will be a tad bit biased, but yeah, it's very good.
Copy, understood, rock and stone
If you want to try it out tho, I can reccomend getting TableTop Simulator (only 20 bucks on Steam, often a lot less in sales) and playing it there, just to experience it before committing to the (kinda) hefty pricetag of the physical game. 🙂
Not exactly the drg board game, but working on a diorama for my 40k space dwarves digging out a giant chunk of (fools) gold. Thought yall might appreciate it.
Titling it "we're rich!"
The TTS implementation is EXCELLENT. It has a bunch of missions pre-loaded and it'll configure the board and everything.
Hey guys, quick question:
I painted some minis and used them before applying a protective coat. Now the color is coming off in several spots.
Can i just overpaint it? Would the new color stick?
Paint usually sticks very well to matte and satin varnish!
Oh, sorry, I mis-read that. You can paint over the spots where the paint has come off but I would put something on it first, like a matte varnish. Paint tends to not adhere well to plain plastic.
Thanks, but I think I still didn't make myself clear. See these dark spots on the Scout's elbow? The black base, which was sprayed on, is still there. Only the color I painted on top is gone. It could also be that there is grease/oil from hands on the surface of the figure, as the figure has been played with before.
Can I just paint over that or would that make the paint not stick?
Any updates on the latest kickstarter anyone's heard
The paint likely won't stick properly if you've handled the miniature, as you point out grease from fingers will affect the surface.
Personally I would 'swab' (brush back and forth repeatedly) a miniature like that with a damp/moist brush. Even wet, for that matter, and then get the excess moisture off with a different brush. You could use a Qtip or cloth or something else, as long as it's not too abrasive.
Once you've done that it'll be as if it's just regular primer, and you can paint on it fine.
I see. You should be able to paint over that. If you want to be thorough, you could use a little bit of brush on primer to create a layer between any oil that might be on the figure and the new layer of paint.
Then you absolutely need to varnish the hell out of the model so that more paint doesn't rub off. Gloss varnish is considered the most durable because it is smooth and therefore there is less friction between the surface and your fingers. Matte varnish looks the best, in my opinion, but it is also slighter rougher and therefore causes more friction when handling, making it more likely to rub off. The compromise is usually to do a few coats of gloss varnish followed by a few coats of matte varnish.
The most durable varnish is multiple coats of polyurethane gloss varnish (followed by multiple coats of polyurethane matte varnish), but each layer of polyurethane needs 24 hours to cure. Not sure if you want to spend a week waiting for varnishes to cure!
If you're going to do several layers of varnish keep in mind that it'll often dull the colours. Try on a sacrificial mini or practice model, to be sure.
Yes, thank you for reminding me. I'm just used to the dulling effect.
Before and after two coats of acrylic matte varnish
Aye, I noticed it quite abruptly because I'm conservative with my edge highlighting as is, and then varnish dulled it down (I haven't used varnish prior to my DRG miniatures).
When varnishing, what is considered "one layer"? It's applied as a spray, right? So, it it like a quick spraying, a few seconds at most, or fuming at it from all angles for accumulated 30 seconds?
Oh wow, that dulling is STRONG. How do I counter that? Should I paint the figure accordingly, add shadows and highlights?
Do you also have an example for a glossy varnish?
Compare to primer. One layer is spraying gently enough that the model is covered, but not clogged with paint, and allowed to try. Then you spray a second coat lightly, etc. I wouldn't even say seconds, more like a few of the light spritz of moving the spray across the model at speed, and 15-20cm away.
And yes, paint accordingly, with brighter highlights than you think. it'll take practice.
I don't use gloss varnish 😅
Satin varnish can be an okay compromise between the two.
Exagerating highlights and shadows is certainly one way to make sure the pieces really pop on the board! The model in my photos was a competition piece so it needed to look good under close scrutiny. Using a matte varnish allows the viewer to examine small details in the painting without any shine or glare getting in the way.
You can see how there is shading and highlighting here on the robe, but it isn't particularly pronounced.
Thank you, guys. Very insightful. I'll try to apply these advices!
I think I've heard you can use mate varnish before, so the paint has something to grip onto.
just bought the stl files from backerkit looks like im gonna have to time travel to receive it
Oh yeah, completely forgot about those
I just bought the DRG deluxe board game. I have never painted figures before, what typen of paint should I use, any recommended brands, tips etc? Thanks
,and sorry for the many questions.
Most common is acrylic paints (water soluable). Vallejo, Army Painter, Citadel, are some of the brands specifically for miniature painting hobby (but there's heaps more. If you have a local hobby store you could go there and look, or find one online depending on your country.
Tips etc would take up pages, I recommend to buy some cheapo toys to practice on, or start with the grunts, to get a feel for painting. Most also use a primer rattle can spray before painting.
Youtube is a great source, just try something like "basics of miniature painting". There's even some how to DRG ones I recall.
Okay, thanks
👍
Finished up my Korlok Tyrant Weed! Trying to get as much expansion stuff done before next annual gaming meetup.
Nicely done, gloss varnish on the 'bulbs' is a nice touch.
Thanks, yeah, gives it a nice "slimy" look in-person for sure.
Important, don't be too hard on yourself and judge yourself against some of the amazing paint jobs you'll see out there (easier said that done sometimes). Just remember that any amount of painting effort put into a mini will look better than bare plastic on the tabletop.
Hay, is the board game only available in english?
Are there any plans regarding translation?
The physical version is only available in english, but there are translated rules for various languages available digitally (french, german, italian, spanish, as far as I recall). Rulebooks are publicly available on board game geek, while MOOD publishing have said they're happy to provide cards and other info over email.
how would it work if you put a resupply pod on heavy snow? Snow ends the dwarf's movement on that tile, but you can't stop on the same tile as a resupply pod. I suppose it just makes movement through that tile entirely invalid?
You call a resupply onto a tile next to a dwarf, not on top
Same from taking stuff from it
Pretty sure, yeah. If the resupply is on a now tile then it's basically a wall (though it doesn't block vision)
Hello, I missed the Kickstarter campaign for this wonderful board game... As a big fan of video games, I'm looking for the bonuses already released, obtained by participating in this project, and the bonuses that will be included in future expansions (Bet-C, etc.). Feel free to contact me! 👍
should i get the board game
Yes
ok sure
Not sure if it's considered "above board" but Tabletop Simulator has a really nice implementation of it if you just want to give it a try before buying it.
I emailed Mood Publishing and asked the same thing. They never wrote back. I understand that Kickstarter campaigns need some sort of incentive to convince customers to spend money well before release. However, punishing players for not knowing about your product early enough, effectively locking them out of items forever is an abomination in the context of DRG. The video game never locks players out of anything, ever. Season 1 is playable forever. Players are never punished for not buying the game earlier. In a world of predatory battle passes and microtransactions, Ghost Ship's actions demonstrate that they don't want to do that to their players.
So I think it's hypocritical that they would license the IP to Mood Publishing knowing that they would have Kickstarter exclusive items. They won't even send me the STL for the Space Rig Memorial Hall trophy to print myself. They didn't write back to me at all.
(rant over)
This guide is an amazing starting place.
Feel free to DM me also, I love painting lol
I think those of us who frequent the DRG board game channel might be biased in favor of the DRG board game.
Holy moly
@faint finch I completely agree with everything you said. It's really sad to miss out on all this, and like you, I haven't received a response (I'm also waiting for a reply because I'm missing a plastic token in a purchase; yes, it's just one token, but we pay to get them all). What I find really unfortunate is the bet-c aspect; it's a whole part of the game that we miss out on if we didn't participate in the project...
are the deep board games simple enough for playing with older family members?
If they're normally into board games it shouldn't be a problem, I've heard plenty of people playing with their parents/children. But I've also seen people struggle (at times immensely) due to DRG being their first ever board game. As such it's sort of a mid-range game in complexity, so not ideal if you're not used to board games. That said, even if they're not used to board games but you are, and you'll kinda be holding their hand, it'll be fine.
You won't miss out on BET-C if you really really want it. Can always pay someone else for theirs, just depends on how much you want it. Even then, they're likely to show up on ebay/trading sites, I helped someone hunt down a 1st campaign 24h coin, 2 years or so after the campaign. In an unopened box no less.
Beyond that it's easy enough to 3d print your own and use the published stats.
Ill click you if you dont
im looking into gettting an expansion but i'm torn between getting either the space rig expansion or the biome expansion, anyone have any recommendations?
If you want biome/creature variety, biome. If you want mission/progression variety, spacerig.
Spacerig has Escort and On-site Refining, which are quite different from the normal missions. Whileas Biomes has Elimination (dreadnought), which is more a boss fight.
I'd be torn too, both have a lot of cool stuff. Personally I'd probably lean more toward Biome, to get the new primary weapons.
@royal nacelle Yes, it's definitely possible. In any case, I'm really motivated to find all the bonuses; I'm so bummed I missed out on this campaign... A 3D printer will be my plan B since I don't have one 😕
oh cool! i didnt even know the biome expansion came with new primaries, must've missed that when i was reading it on the mood website
thanks for the info!
You can download the rulebooks for the expansions on Board Game Geek, and check out the components/rules. Also of course available on Tabletop Sim, if you want to have a more immersive peek.
Biomes has primaries, some new secondaries, new throwables. And of course heaps of new creatures /biome stuff.
Can't forget the third primary option for each class in the biome expansion
They're a big part of why I prefer it over the spacerig expansion
I suppose they blend better into what a player is likely already used to, while the new upgrades/assignment progression takes more getting used to. I keep forgetting I have upgrades, or that some anomaly is in effect.
Seeing how many people wanted Spacerig just for the progression/upgrades stuff though, I know some people prefer it. So don't wanna oversell Biomes xD
The gear upgrade system of the spacerig expansion is pretty intimidating for newer players (the extentions on the character board really confused me and my friends when we tried the game for the first time on tabletop sim)
But lately I've grown to appreciate it more since you can't argue with the increased gameplay variety and the potential for replayability it adds
they kinda have memory issues
uno is a bit slow for the group
well... there are memory aids and reminder cards, as well as print/photocopyable class bits.
Even though DRG is somewhat limited/simple on the actions you can take, you have freedom of movement on the map which then affects tactics, and combinations of your different actions can entirely change the game. You can try, but if even UNO takes extra time I think DRG might be overly complex. There's a lot to take into consideration when deciding what to do.
It IS a game that can be played with a GM though, as you could be playing as "mission control" and making sure everyone's following what they can do.
Yeah, just depends how heavily you want to handhold, and how enjoyable the game then is for everyone else, basically just following what you advice them to do sorta thing
yeah
not 1 player playing 4 dwarves, but more of a "what do you want to do?" "okay, sure, roll 2 yellow dice" "yes, you can move there"
It does also give the Mission control access to the more "complex" part of the game, which is controlling the enemy interactions and conforming to those particular rules.
it's really not a supported game mode, but it's an adapted method to play the game with 5 people at the table.
yeah they too old for it
<@&296918282403840000>
Yes. Decide which one you want to play with beforehand.
Could compare it to what you view "straight line" of the zipline to be. Since rules have been changed to the zipline not having to pass through the middle of tiles, then the bottom image of simply the longest distance would be correct.
Yaaaay, I been acually playing by the rules for once :D
When bunkie strat almost goes wrong
thats random weapon upgrade on map or in stock?
It's from the stockpile.
my thx
I would like to announce, that after a total of 42 mission, for the first time my group used gear exchange action
(in order to give scout all the mule legs so he can speedrun the objective faster)
bruh i bought the stl files for the game from backerkit like 2 weeks ago and i have received nothing
email support
also, they've been busy and swamped with KS campaigns, so it's possible they have a backlog.
yeah i did like a week ago and got nothing back, i guess i dont mind if it just takes a while, i just expected to receive my stl files automatically with no wait?
i dunno
between holidays, ks campaigns, logistics and other day to day, i can see how they would have been delayed.. if you do communicate with them, submit as much details as you can, things like confirmation numbers, purchase screenshots, etc.
alright thankyou bro
You never used it to exchange ammo ?
No
Never
We usually focus more on surviving rather than increasing our chances of survival
giving ammo is cool because you can do kiss jokes
Campaign logs are finally here!
are those official?
They are not, I bought them from a seller on Etsy, but they sure look the part! Quite happy with them
damn that's actually a pretty neat idea
I sent them an email about the same thing on January 7 and haven't heard back.
have they started giving the stls from the recent campaign?
very cool
No
hi
thanks for the info johnno
rock and stone
Last I saw they said they'd make a separate update on Kickstarter, so keep an eye there I reckon. But I'm also sure people here will be chatting a heap about it once they start sending out the files.
thats true, im sure the buzz gonna be big here
Im just hyped for the next update on how shipping is going
Aaaany day now.
true that, only 2 more months until the end of q1
The repaint has begun! Traded my slapchopped minis for a friend's unpainted ones. Much happier with how vibrant this painting style is so far.
Made a Custom-Mission that utilises the Exit3 Hidden-Cave within the basic Layout
Playtested it myself, but haven't been able to playtest it with Friends yet...
May be a rough Mission for 3/4 Players
MOOD just posted an update, STL files are planned to be sent out on Monday.
Yuss! Stl's!!!!
Make sure to check the email with which you signed up to Backerkit, and check your spam folder as well. And if you use Apple mail thingie.. best of luck xD
<@&296918282403840000>
Bro has uranium on his blood
You shall not pass
Hey guys, what are your guys rulings on how hyperactive creatures and For Karl interact?Hyperactive rule says “if an event card doesn’t activate creatures or trigger a swarm, activate creatures anyway” but there’s nothing about what happens if a cards effects are ignored (per for Karl). I can see creatures activating anyway or the activated being negated so I’m curious what your takes are
unfortunate turn of events
I don't have the rulebook handy right now, but it's my understanding that "can't" wins over on "can" effects. meaning that if a card or effect states a negative, like don't, can't, won't, then that card takes priority in the order of things. In your example, as I see it, the card would do nothing, given that the 'For Karl!' card is a Rock and Stone card that has it's effects only last momentarily.
My opinion: Pick the option the suits your group best at the moment. It’s just a game and the rules police will not show up at your door to fine or arrest you.
That said, you’ll have to be more precise as I don’t have the game in front of me and I haven’t memorized the cards.
Is hyperactive creatures a card effect or some other effect?
If For Karl tells you to ignore card effects and Hyperactive Creatures is not a card effect (instead a space rig modifier, etc), then I imagine For Karl has no effect on it.
Gorgeous, what purples/paints did you use for the web shooter?
Also the nmm on the claws are 🔥
Thanks! I used a white primer, then Army Painter Speed Paint Purple Swarm for the carapace & Familiar Pink for the flesh. I then highlighted up from there with other acrylics.
Very nice, thanks!
Please note: Resupplies do not block movement. Bugs can move through them.
Anyone get their STL files email?
Or was it delayed and I missed a comment?
I haven't gotten mine
Probably take a day or so is my guess
Not me, but I've seen someone on KS comments section got theirs, so it's underway I reckon.
Hello everyone, I've been enjoying the board game with my kid for a while now! I bought the second edition box set from a FLGS, not the Kickstarter, but recently this has been happening to my boards. Anyone know if this is a known issue?
That can happen due to your environment. You can google/youtube some different ways to straighten out warped cardboard.
Yeah just odd, I thought it was because of humidity but we've had humidity issues in the past and run dehumidifier and have humidity checkers around the house. I'll see if I can flatten it somehow, thanks!
The only thing I can think of trying is stacking a bunch of heavy books on top for a few nights
Woke up this morning with STLs in my inbox. I wasn't expecting any that required assembly, yet our dreadnought twins look like they'll need a little help. Not a complaint, they look great!
Got my STL link per mail today
Why is there no 3D printer emoji yet !?!
Odds are I'll be one of those "if you haven't received the files in 48 hours contact us" people xD
Same here, STL email received this morning
indeed
I got my STL files today, too, at 6am. 🤷♂️
strange times
I'm still waiting 🙁
i got the STL's as well
Anyone by chance purchase the STLs from the pervious expansions with this one? Curious as to when I'd get those.
Best bet is to email support@moodpublishing.com and ask for the files. It's not an automated system.
Gotcha gotcha
I got them all in one email, so I would send support a message
Hej Fellow Miners. Shamelessly shilling my free Boardgame Soundboard here. You can Play music, shourts creatures and music of the video game all from your phone or tablet www.drg-soundboard.com
Rock and Stone to the Bone Brothers
Did I hear a rock and stone ? :3
beautiful!
That is pristine, great work
Finally got the dwarves done! (Beginner Painter)
Painted a Crassus!
Thanks guys this is exactly what I ruled
Huh, thought I replied to that 'rules' question xD
Clicked back to see what I said. For whatever reason I didn't actually post it. Weird.
Has anyone had any success stripping the models that came with the game? I saw something about the models warping in isopropyl alcohol and now I'm afraid
Even if they warp you can readjust them with hot water. Really depends what paints you've used, and thus what stripping methods are available.
Polyurethane Vallejo Surface Primer and then regular Army Painter Fanatic acrylic.
Well I'd still say try alcohol, it's not going to damage the miniatures themselves. And if they do warp you can pop em in hot water and fix em up
I have a stripper from AK as well and I think it's just gasoline idk
So honestly the best stripping kit you can get is a sandblaster. A small one. No chemical product and it doesn't take hours or days marinating to clean. Just a couple of minutes, barely any more than it take to clean a mini after it soaked anyway.
doesn't that remove detail from the model?
Hello miners, I don't know if anyone else thought about this, I was looking for a 3D printable version of some form of cave wall (like a dungeon from D&D), I was thinking it would add to the immersion of the game. Can't find anything online though, it would need to be piece by piece (one hexagon)
Someone made some magnetized handcut ones ages ago. I did also grab some online, lemme see if I can find them.
Hey Johnno, if you can find them I would really appreciate it. Do you use them? Do they make sense or are they a hassle to use? I thought having an actual cave wall would be nice
Not the ones I found, but these ones would be easy enough to rescale/adapt; https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4825486
I never actually printed the ones I found, I had intended them for a diorama but never got around to it.
Another set: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4891174
Ah ok, thanks Johnno. I did find the second set you mentioned, but was unsure how to incorporate in the hexagon map of the game. I suppose you would need more of the L shape due to the shape of most maps. Seems like it would need a bit of work to get it right and a lot of pieces
ah here we go. These are the ones I downloaded but never used. https://www.printables.com/model/211579-stony-cave-walls-openforge-20
Would be a bit of work since they're bit slim, compared to the other ones I linked that can stand on their own
The way whoever did it here earlier was to make pieces that fill the entire hex. So any wall tile is a 'pillar' in a sense, and when you stack them close together they look like a wall
Just taught my lil sis how to play the board game. Gotta teach em young
Yeah that's what I was thinking, each piece is a small part of the wall, kinda like the last ones, and when you connect them together they make the wall. It's a bit hard when you have turns than say, a straight line though
Yeah but that's why you could have each wall hex be a full set of 6 walls
That's effectively what you need anyway.
sec I'll set something up so it's easier to understand
Ah OK, I get it now
Like a set of 6 walls together, so the orientation doesn't matter, you just have to match each wall's surface the direction you need
Yup I get what you mean, not a bad idea at all, probably would look better too if done right
The hard part is getting it right, but I can see it being done that way
Yeah what could have POSSIBLY happened in 4 turns 🙏
(if you are observant you can see a downed dwarf there)
this is fine
Fat Boy would go crazy rn
not sure about the bulb. Tried to make the weak point have a plasma glow but there is no contrast to the surrounding white and pink.
Gonna just gloss it up and say its done tho
Orrrrrr maybe i can bring out the pink bulb by making the rest more dull red/purple color around it.
Really like the coloring on the legs!!
Thanks youuu. I put a ton of paint on those trying to get it right so glad to hear that.
Tru tru
Remade my previous Mission, since I wasn't really satisfied with the Layout I chose for it
I playtested the new Mission with my Brother and barely managed to Win. Might be my hardest Mission yet
I challenge some of Yall to try and beat my Mission 😎
Might be Fun 👉 👈
Do you have some Color suggestions for the new Pod Spawner and Mist Sprayer Minis?
can someone tell me, in the version that has models, does each enemy have slight variations in their pose, or are they all exactly the same
Grunts have 3 different poses, the others are the same. But you can use hot water to soften the models and give them a slightly different pose yourself.
ah thanks, i was just wondering because i was going to 3d print the models myself
You can modify them before printing then
yeah thats what im gonna do, add some custom variation 🙂
Can someone tell me if the "6 hidden cave tiles" mentioned in the December expansion Kickstarter update will be available with the current pre-orders for the two bigger expansions from Mood's website, or sold separately at some point?
They've made no announcements about any such plans.
Thanks for the response. I came across this game a month ago. Since then, I've managed to pick up the core game, all current expansions, and have preordered the three new expansions from MOOD. I was curious if the hidden cave tiles would be made widely available since it's their fix for the tile back issue.
Wait and see I suppose, or you could email them and ask.
I'm still waiting on a response to email messages I sent a month ago. They seem to be swamped I guess.
I came here hoping for more info in case they were more responsive on here. I'll just keep waiting and see what gets announced soon.
Don't think MOOD have posted here, ever. Just Ole Steiness but it's been about game stuff.
That's good to know. I appreciate the info.
If you take an industrial powered yes, but a civilian model won't damage your miniature. And varnish won't be able to resist it so you can even remove that quite easily. You manipulate the blaster like a hobby knife removing mold line in truth, constant swiping movement, don't stay laser focused on any particular point. It's a sandblaster not a waterjet, it's not going to damage something just because it stand in front of it.
I ended up doing two rounds in AK Interactive stripper and that did fine
Aye, chemi is fine. It's just well... chemi.
Prefer sandblasting, it's quicker and ironically cleaner.
You could put it in the microwave and melt the paint off
We might try it because a friend of mine wants to play the hardest mission
I was wondering, how do you make these custom missions, do you make them in photoshop?
There is an application/tool on Board Game Geek, in the utilities (or files, don't remember which) section for the game that has an application that was made for randomly generating or pre-generating missions using the mission generation parameters included with the game.
Oh I remember that, I haven't used that in a while, I was actually looking to download it again cause I changed phones. They must have changed the app
What do we say to oppression lads?!
That is the angriest venus fly trap and I love it
Its korlok oppresor
His green butt is really beautiful!!
Hello, is there a French translation or version in progress ? (I’ve looked it up but found nothing) thx in advance
https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/281850/rulebook-deep-rock-galactic-the-board-game-2nd-edi
the rulebooks in french are available as pdf
but the actual game is only available in english afaik
someone also made this player aid
https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/261296/aide-de-jeu-fr-deep-rock-galactic
Thank you very much
https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/284355/rulebook-deep-rock-galactic-the-board-game-2nd-edi (not deluxe version afaik)
I made a custom template with a Free Drawing-App (IBIS-Paint)
Using the lasso-tool and Rotating the Images allow me to Documment my Custom-Missions
I only have the Base-Game Images, but want to implement the Expansions in the Future
I am planning on Sharing the Files, but don't know what's the best way of going about it
Did you pay for them?
i dont know where to find them to pay for them
email support@moodpublishing.com and tell them which ones you want to buy.
thankyou, how much do they cost?
like for the base game
€20 for base game as I recall
Bleh. I was looking forward to playing the Board game more, but only me and my brother are really interested in it
Which is fine, but he is the proud father of a chaotic af baby
Miners, what currently missing creatures from the video game would y'all like to see being added to the board game in possible future expansions?
For me, I have to go with the stalker.
I don't think the stalker would work at all in the board game, except for maybe an event card
Hiw would one move a minifigure for an invisible enemy?
I tried concepting a tf2 board game a while ago and gave up because of tbe spy
Anyway I would like to have the scalebramble as a enemy and Deep Scan (or a new mission based on the exploration phase)
I could see them make it out of translucent resin. Would be a cool way to do it. They'd have to cook up some specific movement rule.
Would love to see that as well, I feel like MOOD got at least one more expansion in 'em and Deep Scan would be awesome.
Sounds cool but how would it work from a gameplay and psychological aspect.
Are we, the players just, supposed to ignore the invisible enemy we all clearly can see and know is there?
I mean, that's how the menace works currently
Not really
It cant be hit once it "Burrows" but it stays on the board
The menace makes more sense mechanically and sortywise reason
In the case of a stalker we are not even supposed to know where it is
Unless the stalker has some hidden movement mechanic, and we don't place the mini until it has been exxposed or attacks
They could go like: the stalker moves towards the dwarf that activated the last. (To make it unpredictable) If it reaches said target, it is allowed to attack immediately.
Then they could add: it can be hit only after it has attempted an attack; revealed itself.
Or something like that
That way it is "invisible"
I'm sure MOOD could figure out something a lot better, but that was my 2 cents
Glad you like it. 🙂
Possibly could make it work similar to a Menace. Moves fast, melee attack, becomes immune after getting hit. Maybe moves some spaces back after getting hit (like scare)?
Or like you said an event card; Sneaky Bugger: A Stalker has snuck up next to you and is about to attack! Shoot at any adjacent empty space and roll an enemy dice. If it doesn't land on a [BITE], lose 1 health and get Stunned.
Also a good idea
Or switch it to "if it lands on a [BITE]...", depending on how you want to alter the chances
Might make it easier to read too
Easiest way in my head is to have it as an event where it appears next to a dwarf and attacks. Then after all dwarves have activated if its still alive reshuffle the card into the enemy deck. If its killed discard the card from the game. 🤷♂️
I think an interesting way to implement it is to have it work in states
- Invisible: remove the stalker from the map and place a marker where it last appeared. Whenever its activates, if there's a dwarf within 3 spaces of the marker, place the stalker next to them and it attacks. Otherwise, move the marker 2 spaces towards the nearest dwarf
Also can't be targeted so long as it's invisible - Visible: so long as it's visible, next time it activates swap it to invisible mode.
Can also be hit while it's visible (duh)
How about the Scalebramble? I'm thinking it could work much like the sentry gun, where it automatically attacks dwarves who move or activate within range
A fairly obvious omission is the Glyphid Grunt Guard, which I think in the current design is mostly represented by the Slasher. Another option is the Hiveguard Dreadnaught and friends.

<@&296918282403840000>
I think that if you want to create the hiveguard you need to forgo its phase mechanics (especially the second phase which it practically impossible to implement without being too complicated for a board game), but then it would be way too similar to the normal dreadnaught
To be honest the video game's hiveguard is already just a chunkier dreadnaught
maybe you could just skip the 3 weakpoints phase, only minion and hiveguard itself. Could be 1 minion for 1-2 dwarves and 2 minions for 3-4 dwarves
Do we think the new collectible figurines will be size-compatible with the board game?
no. they're on large round bases
Mood can't keep getting away with this...
They look cool as hell
Im ngl I was so excited for a update on where they at in the pre-fulfillment process, kinda bummed we still gotta wait
Understandable, although given MOODs trackrecord, they're probably right on schedule. 🙂
Im new to their Kickstarters, whats the likelihood they actually start shipping in march lol
Start shipping, pretty high. Finish shipping to absolutely everyone, pretty low.
fair enough
Last time I think a lot of us received the previous expansions about 1 month early, so it's pretty likely we are at least right on track for the predicted delivery (which is already quite fast by kickstarter standards)
I missed the Kickstarter for the new expansions, so I pre-ordered the three expansions from MOOD directly. I was notified today they have shipped.
Game question: Can you reveal an item and pick it up within the same movenment? Like reveal it by moving next to it and then grab it by finishing the move on it?
You can, yes
Questionmarks get instantly revealed as soon as you move adjacent to 'em
Ah oke, so does this mean you also dont have to end your movement over the item either?
It is not much but after procrastinating on painting up the minis I have started
yes
they dont interfere with movement at all
when you walk over it you pick it up automatically
what handsome grunts 🥰
Getting started is always the hardest step! Lookin' good!
This channel is for the board game.
Go to the LFG category of channels.
For the driller's primary fire haze can all the dice be used on on space for crazy damage?
Sure 🔥
wow drillers primary is crazyyyy
So is the board game separate from the video game or is it like a board game within the video game?
separate !! you can find things relating to the board game under a tab in the in game pause menu named "drg universe"
Ok
Yeah, it's a physical, offline tabletop boardgame.
I would've liked the board game displayed somewhere in the space rig as an easter egg
Like in the abyss bar
Maybe interacting would pick up a random mini or their class
you make carl proud! tysm for this! rock on brother
Or flicking the creatures away would be funny
I need a clatification on this. What are the special event cards that you remove for a hazard lv . Because i have the 2nd edition an this is not there.
I am pretty sure I have never seen this page before, and I have the first and second rule book
Where did you get this?
I think this is outdated from the 2021 rulebook, since I found this page in that one but absent in updated ones posted online
I'm not home rn but I can check later
idk where he found it but for me its the first thing on google after searching "drg board game rules"
I remember reading a blog about the development of the board game that did mention this mechanic and how it was scrapped
ohhh maybe its an old archived rulebook then
Does explain how Ive come across 3 slightly different rulebooks online when trying to learn the game...
I found the same thing, definitely an outdated version as the copyright is from a year before the board game was publicly released
Bad thing it's the first result on google
That's a pre-release work in progress version that was only available during the first Kickstarter, and was never put into print. The rules changed, hazard level is now changed just by moving the swarm threat tracker and adding grunts (and haz 5 grunts hit on !), not by removing cards.
Ok
Kind if difficult to win the game with 4 players
What kind of strategy you do with 4 players. My friends and me couldnt beat the 1st map 4 players.
Stick together, or in teams of 2, with one of the 2 players always being next to activate (so stagger the turn order basically). Secondary weapons with stun or freeze are good for crowd control.
Beyond that everyone has their class equipment to use, be mindful of when to use flame wall with flamethrower for example, when to deploy gunner's shield, having the engineer's sentry gun deployed as often as possible.
Also does reaction attacks activate when new creatures spawns from the Exit tunnels?
No. Reaction attacks are only when an event card allows them.
Ok
worth double checking you are playing the rules right - but also there is an element of luck with the swarm deck. Even when things are going well you are on a tight timer
In this scenario can the spitball hit the enginner or the scout or it doesnt have line of sight
turrets don't block line of sight, therefore the spitballer can hit both the engineer and the scout.
Source: DRG 1st Ed rulebook, page 13
answered above.
Thanks. Also Coundnt finish mission 3 got stuck fiighting than moving 😩 4 grunts , 1 opressor , 1 warden , 1 Web sppiter and 1 spitball close to the pod. Only failed because time and 1 egg that i didnt reveal
If all enemy types are present on the board what you all consider is priority from highest to lowest
Depends on distances, healths, what weapons/throwables the Dwarves have, etc. No simple answer to that one.
My group's top priorities are always warden - breeder - web spitters when present, just because of the overall annoyance produced if left unattended for too long. Last week we failed a mission we thought we had in the bag just because we got overconfident in letting a warden and a w.spitter alone.
A yes the You cant move debuff❤️
Two of the three new expsnsions have arrived. I missed the Kickstarter, so I had to pre-order through MOOD. the Horrors box probably weighs two times what Rival does. Not much to the Rival expansion, but I'm sure it will be fun.
Same...what the heck Mood
Mood is keeping us kickstarter fellas waiting what
Pay 1st get it last...🤦♂️ 😵💫
wow! hope i get it soon as well. Are you in europe?
Ok, i cant say im entirely happy about seeing this but i feel that its gonna take more time to fullfill backers who bought more things rather people who preordered literally 3 items.
You can say it put you in a bad mood
im glad you fixed that for me, thanks brother
It's important to keep in mind that there is a difference between MOOD's shop and the distribution partners that they are working with, so everything ordered from MOOD themselves are handled in smaller quanties and by someone else. It's not like people pre-ordering are skipping a line, they're just fortunate that the dice roll of logistics was in their favor.
Indeed, everybody is going to get everything sooner or later so its just a matter of being patient.
So we can also expect them soon? Considering we have not gotten a shipping confirmation, but people are receiving the expansions already im a bit confused
i suspect we might get an update soon 🙂
Honestly, at GSG we're pretty far removed from the whole logistics part of it, so I have no idea about the details. I just know from experience that shipping such large amounts of product out in a short amount of time cause bumps like some outlets possibly getting and selling copies before backers get them, because one pallet of games to a shop somewhere is much smoother sailing and has less friction, than an entire container to a shipping center, that does loads of different things too. 😅
True! thanks
Personally, I would have rather been able to purchase through Kickstarter to get the extras and save some money, and have to wait longer, then get the items early without the extras. The Rival expansion is especially sparse without the extras. The retail versions also do not include the hidden cave segments either, and there is not a current option to purchase them at retail. I really wanted those to fix the mismatched back issue.
US
ah alright
thats true! Im just hyped cause I don't even have the base game yet lol
Ive been learning through tabletop sim and for me thats a bad way to experience this awesome game
So I just logged back into KS, checked what my reward was for the campaign... I'm not upset at this... the amount of stuff that's in the KS Exclusive pile, to me, feels worth the wait.
I recall waiting over 4 months during the first campaign from when the first people received their game. No different now really.
Well, to be fair, things in the UK were... tumultuous right around that time as well.
I think it worked out better in campaign 2
100% agree, lotta nice additions
Now the question is: where do I put the new expansions when they arrive... My board game cupboard is full 🫤
i bought an all-in-one-box organizer and it just made so that i have enough space for the new boxes
Is there a randomize board generator?
I recall using an older one but it's no longer published and doesn't work on my new phone
Thank you
Custom made for DRG or a generic one?
Custom for DRG, its one anybody can find after a simple search on etsy.
it stores all minis, cards, dices and boards in the main game box
interesting; you think i should just wait for the new expansions to come out at this rate though?
I’d advise you to value space management and the overall cost of the organizer. I personally needed space so I just bit the bullet and bought it
also, i dont know if the seller is willing to update the current design to fit the newer expansions as they contain large minis or if he can at all
as is, the organizer makes so that the box becomes c.a. 1cm taller in height
I just hope we'll get a definitive organizer directly from mood but that would also mean that there would be no more expansions planned for the board game, which would be sad (if i remember correctly the statement on the latest KS comment section)
Would be nice to not have to sacrifice an entire shelf for the game
Might also print that organizer, I dont see how else you can bring the game to events
I mean if they are done that’s not that bad. Many of the other missions that are missing may be very difficult for the boardgame. I want a drop pod shaped storage container. But that’d take so much work to manufacture…
That would be sick, tho the cost would be insane
Doesn't have to be insane, lasercut plywood would be cheap enough.
True
I’m thinking a 3d printed one with drawers and such would be pretty sick!
Guess it depends where your painpoint is for extra cost for a bigger box. I asked multiple people who were asking for a "big box" during the Kickstarter how much they'd pay for one, yet nobody answered.
Hard for MOOD to make a "all in one" box when nobody is willing to say what they'd want to pay for one.
How do you guys transport your game+expansions btw?
I think honestly I would pay $100 maybe $150 for a way to move the game easy
Im planning to build a wooden chest deal with handles and removable trays with enemies cards ect
Just need to get around to it
mine is a stay at home game
Thats fair
Have you noticed any paint chipping/scratching issues? It seems some people had problems with painted models
If not then Ill definitely print it
I don’t have my minis painted yet I’m afraid. Still there’s enough space between the figs and the inserts so that eventual paint wouldn’t get scratched imo
Except for the grunts
Im not at home so I can’t send any pics but ill be able to provide some tomorrow in around 23-ish hours
You all good, Ive seen the pics on the Etsy thanks tho
I am a bit worried about the grunts
but they may be fine with a hefty coat of varnish
Did your praetorian fit well? That was another concern people commented
Once you figure out the right angle yes, I don’t like how one of them HAS to touch the spitballer
Hmm would you still say its better for paint then the OG insert?
From what I’ve seen and heard the original insert does to figures, yes
But it’s my opinion and my minis are not painted
The problem is still the space for the grunts
Because it’s just a rectangle where they just sit on top of eachother
I appreciate your insight regardless, very useful for planning ahead
Am I too late? Haha
Whats going on with the kickstarter? Havent heard anything regarding eta or delivery.
Hopefully we hear something soon. With someone receiving the expansions from mood directly I’d at least expect some news by now.
Any day now probably
Neurotoxin grenade only gets detonated with flame tokens right? Or do yellow die do too?
IIRC it says it detonates when the tile it is on recieves fire damage
Yea, but unsure if we attack a creature on top of it with yellow dice it ignites or only with the flamethrower tokens
I'd say the dice, since if it specifies flame damage, any flame die can trigger it (and if it was the flame tokens, neurotoxin would be WAY weaker if you either didn't have a driller, or he wasn't using the flamethrower
Would that... work?
@royal nacelle we need your guidance
As in gooing the spot while the beamer is destroyed? Yeah, why not. Creatures can walk into it, it uses up ammo and action, and using it defensively is a big part of its point.
Im asking whether i can spawn kill a beamer that way
Considering you can spawn kill other stuff, yes.
The space isn't occupied, so the Beamer can spawn there. Nothing prevents you from gooing the spot, and the Beamer isn't immune to damage.
Yipeeeeeeee
the GOOPY GOAT
Question, does driller's attack flake storm with cryo cannon require you to use dice? Half the team says yes, the other half no.
No, it's a free action attack (still uses ammo) that automatically freezes two adjacent targets within range.
And remember, freezing instakills flying creatures (unless they're immune/resistance to freeze)
Thought so, can you use it only once per turn? The FAQ says that you can use free actions as much as you want, but it seems kinda strong. I guess the limiting factor is ammo
Ammo is the limiting factor. You can use it as many times as you like.
It is indeed powerful, But creatures might just the same activate right after, and thus you've spent ammo for nothing. It's great if you have actions left to utilise shots at the frozen enemies, but otherwise it's a good crowd control tool to at least keep some creatures from activating
Cool, I mean it makes sense, plus it's for adjacent enemies, which, if you want to survive, isn't a good thing to have them that close, but pretty nice crowd control
No adjacent to eachother
Not to you.
It still has range 3
No worries, yep It's my favourite for Driller
Hello Miners! Just a friendly reminder from Mission corntrol to use my webbased soundboard for the boardgame. Has pretty much most of the voicelines and all music, creatures and lots of effects etc Working on version 1.1 with all the missionspecific stuff. Hope you go check it out its totally free https://www.drg-soundboard.com or checkout the reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/comments/1pk6s3q/soundboard_for_the_boardgame_v10_shouts_creatures/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Rock and Stone to the Bone Brothers
Question i moved the bottom grunt where is this one will go tru the top side or bottom side because he moves 3 ?
Bottom side, since going the top side would leave it further away. It'll move 2 and stop above the other grunt.
Zip lines can be placed like that?
Does anyone know if the new big expansions will have the mixed mission books with eachother and possibly with biome and space rig?
No clue
it's very likely that the zipline markers got knocked around, but generally, no, ziplines can't connect mid-hole like that.
wait there isa boured game
Yeah . You can find it on Mood Publishing
Reset the counter
.
Nothing here as far as I know
we're all just guessing we'll see an update soon
Was either that or having us pay extra shipping for the cave tiles I suppose. Considering what uproar the updated decks caused I figure they just went ahead and held back instead of going down that route.
this is incredibly devastating as someone who doesnt own base game yet, at least its coming
Damn :/
With current state of world it is what it is...at least we've had an update about it
The Armello board game kickstarter has been suffering the same delays… delayed by at least a full year at this point
Sad to see
very unfortunate, even more unfortunate considering some already have it...
Yup, was just sitting here shaking my head over the fact that it's all due to people demanding a 'fix' for the miscoloured Korlok tile.
yeah...
Oh is it that thats causing delays with the KS stuff?!? 🤦♂️ ...oh well 😂
would've appreciated if they sent all the other exclusives, and the cave tiles later
but i know thats pricy
Yes, they got the prototype for the tiles and they weren't up to spec, which caused a delay, then chinese new year hit, and everything was held back. There must've been a separate shipment of just the expansion boxes for the MOOD store, while everything for Kickstarter pledges was to be another shipment, so people ordering from the store could get their copies, but everything from KS was held back.
Yep but considering the fuss last time around when we had to pay extra for shipping the cards, and the mess that made, I'm sure they took that into account to just hold everything back and send in one go.
understandable to be honest, but unfortunate right now
For sure
Literally unplayable. My blood boils EVERY TIME I see the ever so slight different hue whenever I have my eyeball pressed up against the tile under 5000k lighting. Shame on MOOD
"WhAt dO yOu mEaN YoU dOnT HaVe A 1000 LUmEn mAgNiFiEr To sEe aLL ThESe cOLoUr DiFFeReNcEs!?1?"
Well it’s also due to their management of the logistics- getting caught out by Chinese New Year is a rookie mistake, as it’s not exactly an unusual event. And having the entire kickstarter waiting on one thing and then hoping it’s produced perfect first time to meet the schedule isn’t ideal
Them fixing the Korlock tile issue is fantastic, let’s not take away from that
You can clearly see the difference under any light - and they clearly agree it’s an issue or they wouldn’t be fixing it
I kid. I just don't get why some people made it out as a horrible sin that completely altered the gameplay enough to piss them off (much like the card backs). It's good that MOOD considered it and found a solution, however, but it's only because people were so turned off by it
I just found it amusing, as the Korok is the hardest of the random tiles AND in the video game you would see the roots before aggroing the weed.
Tho it does mess with the oil rig mission flow if you know it is coming either way.
dont they usually release the rulebooks for new expansions before shipping them?
are the rulebooks for the new expansions available?
it messes with the flow of every mission because
#1 you will always be prepared for the fight when you know its coming
#2 it ruins the surprise aspect of opening a hidden cave
#3 you know it has the best rewards so you will go there earlier, making the rest of the mission easier
at least thats how it goes with my group
Yes they have released them with one of the updates
I myself am waiting for the whole product to not ruin the moment lol
How do we get the new Korlok tile?
There is no new Korlok tile.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/moodpublishing/deep-rock-galactic-rivals-and-horrors-of-hoxxes/posts/4569622
Not sure if they'll sell the set on their webstore later.
Ok they’re fixing the colour problem with cave tile addons
they're not fixing the colour problem, they're printing 6 new stand-ins so that THOSE will be equal, at which point when you reveal the tile, you pull a random tile from the box/bag and put in play instead.
I know it seems like a minor nitpick, but it's important to set the proper expectation for people.
yeah I pushed myself to do some tattoos since the arm felt it was missing out
can't yet call this all done but it's very close
oh and it reads karl on the green cloth tattoo on the arm
That free hand is incredible! Well worth the time!
this is so awesome how did you get the model? I tried to get things with ninjia ripper but it never worked and was always missing a lot of items including the character itself
Johnno is to thank for the mini itself, the two token bases behind the mini are also from him
Question: what’s difference between rock and stone?
Oh wait
Question: what’s difference between Deep Rock Galactic: Standard board game and Deep Rock Galactic: Deluxe board game?
Standard has glyphid standees afaik, no miniatures except the dwarves and some other stuff
So, just cardboard figures, right?
Yeah otherwise it should be the same
Standard has cardboard standees for glyphids, though minis for the dwarves, resuply, and bosco, iirc
small correction, just the dwarves have minis in standard edition. Bosco, The MULE, The Sentry Gun, and The Resupply Pod are all cardboard tokens in the standard edition
ah
except for the Mule. Poor girl just doesn't exist in standard
yeah, Molly is only a deluxe mini
that reminds me though, i gotta find myself a resin printer to print me a few loot bugs
I got a shard defractor with ignore resitances plus stun upgrades an im attacking a spitball will it get stuned?
Question, how many unique pledge rewards like these are there?
if i recall correctly, just those two?
Convenient considering how difficult finding these two in the drg bg update logs was
i'm having a hard time remembering when those came out though
campaign 2 or this recent one?
yeah, i think these were stretch goals in the space rig and biomes expansions
I think it was campaign 2?
My computer started chugging when I tried to load up tabletop simulator so I can't check right now
I'm heading to bed, but I'm pretty sure those were some of the stretch goals ones for Space rig/Biomes... and i'm pretty sure there's 2 weapons and 2 grenades
Oooh?
Do you have any pictures of the other two?
i'll dig through the expansions tomorrow, see if i can find something
I think there's some promo cards that were made also, that were not KS exclusives, but Games Conventions promos...
I wish the board game had a wiki because I wish to know about all of the new gear and enemies
I just checked both space rig and biomes expansions that I have here, and those aren't in it
I'm guessing those are convention promos
The update said it was for people who pledged to the kickstarter
I'll let others weigh in on that, all I can say is that I don't own those cards in physical form and I'm an all in, 24hr coin holder for all 3 campaigns
they may have been promo cards for another one of mood's games that came with a KS pledge, I can see that happening...
or the person making the update made a mistake or mis-understood the origin of those cards, which is also something i can see happening.
this link has the Spiel Essen promo cards listed
Thank you!
these are for the new ones actually
horrors/rivals
IIRC they are kickstarter exclusives
Found these.
Also a later post had all four of these amount others
Earlier campaigns didn't have any extras, there's been on Beer card from Spiel Essen, and one R&S card I think.
This last campaign had a buncha cards as Kickstarter exclusives; 5 R&S cards, 6 Swarm cards, 4 secondary weapons, and 4 throwables.
Completed painting the Space Rig Expansion and also painted the 2 Praetorians from the Core Set, 6 more enemies to go, then the droppod and the little robot and I've got the entire core-box done 😄
Any tutorial for painting the minatures and not screw them because i dont have Experience painting
You can search on youtube. It's mainly brush control and patience, and learning to thin your paints so they don't go on too thickly.
I'd recommend practicing on toy soldiers or some cheap toys.
I used SlapChop Technique for the undercoat and then SpeedPaint for the colours 🙂
YOU USED SPEED PAINT?, I have never seen speed paint looking so good, damn I need to work on my technique for it lol
thanks a lot for that comment 😄 Yeah, I use the SlapChop technique ( black primer, grey drybrush + white drybrush ) to create an undercoat and then I just put one layer of speedpaint on top of that 🙂 ( in this case, I was even using SpeedPaint Markers to make it go fast as I've got a ton of other miniatures to paint too 😄 ) I "learned" the technique from this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH3WGHw9eDw and it works especially well on "organic" things like the enemies from DRG 😄
@light crystal ☝️ this video is where I learned how to do this kind of painting, it's a supereasy technique that is almost guaranteed to give you great results, even if you're not super-amazing at painting or just starting 😉
@magic pine any good primer brand for the minatures
I use The Army Painter
to add onto what everybody else has said, if you are ever unhappy with the final result, or wish to repaint the minis later if you get better, you can use paint strippers to remove the paint. My personal recommendation for this is "LA's Totally Awesome", which is a cleaner instead of a paint stripper, however having used it a few times I can say that it is amazing for paint stripping. Doesn't damage minis when leaving them submerged, left mine in there about a month and nothing bad happened, and people online have said that they have forgotten minis in the stuff for years and still no damage. If its not in any stores near you, you can buy the stuff on amazon.
Just completed these
Almost done now 🙂 (luckily they all have the SlapChop undercoat already, so just need to add colours now)
oh also, if you use acrylic type paint (which in short takes a lot longer and is less beginner friendly, but the final result can look amazing) over contrasts (fast and easy, looks good enough for the table generally, but amazing results are hard to get in my experience), whites and yellows tend to SUCK.
My driller in the picture above is done with contrast paint, quite happy with how that yellow turned out
what color did you use for the armor?
Citadel Contrast Bad Moon Yellow
Best yellow I found so far
I think contrast/SpeedPaint can give good results, but not if you follow the instructions of just doing it on plain white/grey primer... If you do SlapChop, the results are better than I was able to achieve after 3 years of working with acrylics and washes 🙂
for me i've found success with both but for me, acrylic is better in the end. (probably doesn't help that I painted over a white prime first since I had no idea about slapchop at the time.)
not to say that contrast over white didn't look good, it DID look good but acrylic for me has simply looked better in the end
I mostly play Warhammer and KillTeam (next to having a job and a family) so this method had greatly improved my througput 😄
oh yea thats a pretty big reason to use contrast over acrylic
the speed is so much better
I can do a squad in 1 long evening or 2 short evenings 🙂
And the results are decent enough for me 🙂 I paint to play, not to score a Golden Demon 😄
same here but I know i'm gonna notice things and acrylic for me has better control
Oh, I get it, I notice those too, but I don't see them while playing as I'm generally standing up while playing Warhammer so no way to see those little imperfections
Once I got over that hangup, my pile of opportunity finally started shrinking
Now have 3 armies (Dead Guard, Ultramarines and T'au) and a few painted boardgames and about 15 KillTeams all done 🙂
If it looks good while playing, I'm satisfied:-D
Alright, midnight here, time for bed! 🙂 later!
So for primer grey or black?
Im gonna start on glyfin grunts
@magic pine can i see a picture of your gunner mini
I prime black, like in that SlapChop video I shared earlier
Looking great! That goo-green is stunning!
Completed the Brood Nexus's and the Supply Pod, only Bosco and the Opressor to go 🙂
That looks fucken sick
Thanks!
I will say it reminds me of the tyranids from 40k
You know that driller trait? Negates all melle imunity? The flying bugs have it, but no, the driller just throws the drills at them. Funny
Melee only driller sounds really funny
just shoves the drills into the air to hit a bug
Yes
I imagine he’s just boxing with his drills
ACTIVE drills
Well, they're all bugs, right? Bugs that want to eat us 😄
Thanks! I used some fluo green for the final touch
Bases for the character boards arrived! Huge thanks to DRG2theBone from the Etsy store for making them, I am sure he is somewhere around here. The lighting doesn't do them justice but they look so cool!
Whoa
oh my god thats amazing
That is unbelievably cool
That is the most pimped out player boards I have ever seen
Real quick, can the sentry gun shoot more creatures in a single event phase? But only once per creature?
Yup
Once per creature per activation for each creature withing range/entering its range
Johnno can correct me on this if I'm wrong but I think that it acts at the same time as the creature it's attacking. So even if it kills the creature, the creature still gets to attack and deal damage before dying
That's indeed correct
If it's already in attack range mind you, doesn't get to move and attack for example during Fast Critters
It give the vibes of:
"Oh no ...anyway"
Did he got rammed by the rammer?
My Dwarfs i need to ask somethink. I recently buy DRG board game (still study rules). And i saw in shop some expansion. How many expansion are there and some advice what to buy first or what order to buy them ? ( I will buy them later but still want to know )
There are 4 large expansions (two of them recently Kickstartered so they still technically pre-order), and then there's 4 'mini-expansions'.
Personal preference will decide what you may want to buy first, but the Biome expansion, and Horrors of Hoxxes expansion, are similar in that they give you new biomes, a Dreadnought / Dreadnought Twins mission, and various new enemies.
Spacerig expansion gives an assignment/campaign, along with some gear upgrades, as well as Escort and On-site Refining missions.
And Rivals gives the rivals robots, with a Caretaker (big boss) battle/mission.
Personally I'm biased toward the first Biome expansion, since it also give the Dwarves new primary weapons. A lot of other players prefer Spacerig for the campaign (I personally am fine playing stand-alone missions).
The mini expansions are Bulk Detonator, Korlok Tyrant Weed, Goo from Above, and Shockwyrm.
Bulk Detonator is a "uh oh!" moment spawn, mostly have to make sure not to be close to it when it dies (blows up).
Goo from Above gives the Menace and Goo Bomber enemies, mostly annoying but frequently showing up. A lot of players like it specifically for that reason, so you feel you get more for your money since they're more frequent.
Korlok Weed has a hidden cave tile it spawns on, it's a bit different fight, a mini boss of sorts. Can be both annoying to the point of you skipping that cave if possible, or a good fun fight.
Shockwyrm is a mini boss that shows up randomly, step down from the Dreadnought, has some nasty attacks and whatnot.
For mini expansions it really depends what you feel you want to expand on. If you get one of the biome expansions (biomes, or horrors of hoxxes) then you might not feel like you need Goo from Above. Personally I feel that the Bulk Detonator and Shockwyrm nicely fill out the enemy roster with tougher enemies. As is, I'd probably go for Shockwyrm first, unless you play the video game and have a soft spot for the Bulk Detonator.
Thx I will write that down
My Opressor is done, so my entire core box is fully painted 🙂
I should get around to finishing my base game creatures xD
Yes 🙁 right in the crotch too
In pure theory game doesn't end until the swarm threat marker reaches the end, so could've still picked him up. Or perhaps you did that?
Can still end the game and call it a modest success, as per rules.
We play the climacting ending variant so we were already on the last marker and if i had picked him up I'd have drawn a swarm card instead of just ending, so the rammer, praetorian, grunt and oppressor would've activated anyway🥲
Yes we just extracted me and progressed the marker once on the space rig
Instead of twice when all dwarves extract
Dealer's choice really, could've tried 'til the end to get lucky, or call it early just to get on with your day.
I guess I could've just kept resurrecting him until i spawn every possible creature on the board🤣
I remember one mission I played with 4 Dwarves, scraped by until the very end with 1 Dwarf making it to the pod, instead of giving up when I thought it was game over. I was so sure it was done but figured I'd just play it out.
well it's more like even if they activate they might not hit him.
If there's few enough enemies it's a few dice rolls
Guess you're right
Eh we just moved on the 1 progression on the board wasn't that important to us at that point i guess
We just finished the last mission on the campaign and on it we got the "Exterminators" achievement 🙂
I think all 4 missions took like 13 hours to play through🫠
Enjoyed every second though!
Sounds about right, 2-3 hours per mission is quite normal I think.
Me and the boy/11 are starting our first deep dive campaign. Wish us luck! Gunna be a wild one I think.
no luck, all skill! Rock n Stone!
I love your resupply dice tower, that is awesome!
And is that a little resupply holding device for the ammo tokens?!
Yup
Forgot to take a picture but we won! Had to outrun a bulk detonator though.
Hey I always wanted my brother to 3d print that resupply token holder, does it actually work ok to hold ammo and health?
It works perfectly. I’m about to make a multicolored print one in the near future.
Nice
Man liquid morkite is nuts! Really well done compared to the video game too.
Next mission is loaded and ready to go… no luck this time, only Guts!!
<@&296918282403840000>
A fine demonstration on how chaotic the table can be
Character board for our 5th player, Bosco, is ready! Big thanks to Chris_cc and Albert Zweistein from BGG for the image file and the concept!
I did a terrible job with what cardboard I had, but it will work!
I have a question for anyone willing to give some feedback: would you be willing to purchase a hardwood drg game board? The threat tracker and the hexagonal playing field would be recessed into the wood an 1/8 of an inch. The threat tracker icons, each spot where the types of cards sit, and the borders of the hexagons would be laser engraved to give clarity. The dimensions would be 23 1/4” x 23 1/4" x 3/8” in total. I was just wondering if there would be a small market out there of people if I were to build/sell something like this.
If only I had the money for such a thing
I'd love to see one, that's for sure.
That sounds awesome, but what would it cost? I would be willing to have something like that for sure, but surely it sounds expensive due to the process and the materials used. Would you sell it on something like Etsy?
yellow is so hard to paint
but the gang is almost finished
just have to make the bases consistent
then I am done with the base game
yeah, yellow is annoying as hell to paint
I struggled with yellow for ages, have found a pretty good colour combo now though, Averland Sunset base colour, and Phalanx Yellow over that (both Citadel colours). The base colour covers really well unlike yellows normally do (it's tinted more toward a light brown I suppose).
I’m not totally sure yet, I need to actually build one for myself and invest In materials for a prototype so that’s a few months down the road. My guess would be in the ballpark of $150-$200? And I would most likely put it on Etsy or something similar.
I would totally like to see something like that, hope you make it!
Thanks, when I get around to it I’ll send pictures in here when I’m done
Great job! Those look amazing!
Forgot about my 'Goo From Above' expansion, but that's now painted too, so everything I own is painted, and I printed 3 lootbugs to replace the cardboard tokens 🙂
umm ackchyually
anyone know what the material/type the first dice tray from the first kickstarter is? ive been trying to get more dice trays like it but i cant find anything. it's not felt-lined but a squishy rubber
First dice tray? Did they change them?
Looking at the kickstarter I see a few add-ons with "(Fixed)". Not sure what that means?
Yea so the first dice tray is I think rubber. That’s the one I have and it’s one of the best I own. The ones after that have been the felt-lined ones, which I have a set of from Amazon, but the felt has wrinkled over time and doesn’t stick to the walls anymore. I wanted to get some more like the rubber DRG one I have.
However, when I look for “rubber” or “neoprene” dice trays they are all just a sheet of rubber/neoprene which don’t fold at the corners, they bend. The first DRG dice tray is the only “rubber” tray I’ve seen that were designed to fold.
This is the tray from the first kickstarter before they became felt-lined:
I didn't want to get any more felt-lined ones cuz of the bubbling
Huh I had no idea they changed them to felt
and then all my searching for a rubber tray ended up with trays like this, where they dont fold
i ended up sending an email to mood, hopefully they can let me know more about what kind of trays they are
yeah their site is just the felt-lined one now
Damn now I need to get their felt trays 😅
i dont know if you saw my pic but if its anything like the bundle of felt-liners on amazon, then they could detach from the internal boards
Has no idea I don't remember them mentioning it in their last kickstarter
.
yea cuz the issue with the amazon ones is that its just one big piece of felt "pasted" onto all boards, so when the folding happens frequently then the felt starts to come off
there's some trays that do have each section sewn onto the walls, but at the folds the felt isnt sewn
the rubber DRG trays has been fantastic at keeping the fold, just wish i could find some like it that isn't a piece of neoprene where you "roll" the walls together instead of fold
its easier to accidentally roll a die out of the tray when it rolls instead of folds
Dunno if it's an issue, but for MOOD's Valheim board game they made trays I think it's smooth faux leather?
wow, that is beautiful
omg checking their site now it says "suede-finish" for these
lol yea i was just checking, i would have loved to get that tray
Crazy they made dice trays kickstarter-exclusive in a way
ok im going insane, i thought the dice tray was from the first kickstarter, turns out it was in the second
????
in the second kickstarter, they were prototyping the felt-lined one???
when were they briefly rubber??
I must've got my rubber trays from the second kickstarter
Yeah I think I remember seeing them expecting felt and then got rubber
<@&296918282403840000>
Looks like i missed a campaign while i was moving and getting into debt
Eh, maybe someone on ebay wants to get rid of the glitter walls and betc encounter
MOOD is making the upcoming collectible figures into board game-sized variants!
I gotta say; Scout and Engineer look pretty cool, but Driller and Gunner don't look different enough for me to get personally.
This is the one that we received
<@&296918282403840000>
This is an absolute win
Be good for doubling up on classes I suppose
Scout as least is wysiwyg for GK2 primary
Cant forget the player boards
i very much wonder how one boards the game, holy moly this is neato
just saw another capaign and had to smile for a solid 2 minutes when looking at this:
next up, someone requesting a DRG BG backpack that does not give backproblems 🥹
you will need at least 2 of those for drg hahaha
Me on my way to bros house for a board game night (I just got the new Deep Rock Galactic Expansions)
Fr tho, I got something similar to that backpack and it's unfortunate that it won't fit everything in the near future
Haha so do I! Hahaha didn’t know there were others with DRG addiction like me.
my god a single figurine of the new kickstarter campaign costs 75 euros
and that's discounted!?
They are rather big.
