Thank you for all these advicies btw
It was really helpfull
if you gonna get comfortable with a good B&W underpainting add color theory to it. I've been experimenting with heavy environmental lighting that lets me do very strong saturated colors
Have you any pictures of the minis you painted Îm curious about your work
if you have instagram then check craftsworldstudio - he's a great inspiration for very color theory playful things
I will try
I think I know him
He paint minis like he is painting on a canvas
playing with eldfall chronicles and marvel crisis protocol lately, but got in love with DRG and cant wait for the newest KS to start.
Not sure what's the policy on non-drg stuff so gonna spoiler it
wanted to brush up my speed painting techniques, and a boardgame seems like a great way to do it.
thank you ❤️
Did you use oil wash ?
nope, not here. These are painted using a weird underpainting
Your way to paint light is really intersting, I will totally try to paint that way
If it's on topic when talking about painting / model making / board gaming it's usually okay in here, but won't fly for example in the fan-art channel.
As long as it follows other rules, like SFW etc
Did you use an airbrush ?
oh yeah, very fun way, highly recommend it. Just remember that shadows aren't black. They're the environment vibe. So that's why I'm using purplish/jadeish tones
yeah, all of it is zenithal, then one color from bottom and one from top to stimulate some environment lightning
I would pove to use one but it’s too expensive for me to
I try to do that with brush but it’s way much harder
yeah that's true, it takes a bit longer with brush. But honestly - at this stage transitions aren't that important. You could try flow improver or glaze medium to help make the paint workable longer
so you can make the transitions
in the end i always need to work with brush
airbrush ain't gonna cut it, but it's a helpful tool
and honestly for quick paint jobs id do a drybrush just to make the edges pop more, so it's another step that would hide airbrush vs brush for that base layer
but the key to more colorful paintings for me was just not using black and white altogheter and making more dramatic lighting choices. Very fun puzzle solving
Yes I try not using white at all and it lead to really intersting results
ye, white is bad, especially when you want to run yellow glazes on it - it makes it greenish. Try using pink instead of white for it 😄
my go to is just off white in yellowish direction. Once I understood that values are relative it just made it soo much easier to make it feel very bright by not going higher anywhere else.
can't wait to see your spitballer 😄
Thank you For all these advices and especially your exemples, it helped me a ton
I’l ping you when îll finish it
Thank you so much !
wee bit spread out perhaps.
Depends on the rest of the map, how many more Morkite other than those two do you have to get
Yep, you get jt
Nah, we just rush the morkite
Specifically mentioned that Gunner wasn't incapacitated
I am blind asf my bad
Driller is within R3 of two webspitters in that picture, when it's his turn he can take them out if he has any ammo, even use drills on the adjacent one.
So much depends on what ammo/throwables/R&S cards you have, who's turn it is, etc.

Are there any expectations around how long it could take from the start of the KS to delivery? How long did it take last time?
I think About a year, but don't quote me on this
10 months or so last time.
Gotcha. And is there any known delivery time estimate around ordering from their site? Kinda bummed out I can't find copies locally
well it's not next day delivery. They used to process orders once a week but now with more warehouses I'd suspect that they do it more often. Beyond that it's just handling & shipping, so two or three weeks depending on where you are.
Appreciate the in depth answer!
Are there even 3 roses in the game?
According to the components list there are.
@wooden widget your advices helped me a lot thank you ! I know it’s bot perfect but I know What to improve for my next mini
Maybe I will smooth out some part so it look better and post it after, it’s just late and i cannot continue to work on it
Colorful! 😄 gj! If you want to further increase readability I like doing some black lining - this is the only moment I'm using black (i like ink and a long, thin brush) to make some occlusion shadows, which helps seperate objects and further increases contrast
I will try this as well as try ing to blond better because my model here is kinda messy
doesn't look too messy in my opinion! I would just push for more contrast on the form design to help readability of plane changes 😄 ie, stronger shadows (occlusion being a part of it, and just to highlight each form a bit stronger, especially when you have a strong light source). But I do enjoy the color palette and think that it's gonna look already good on board 🙂
Cuz blending looks nice, but in the end it's only working on edges element of the foundations - helping describe the form change relative to light (ie no harsh cuts or changes in direction, but a smooth round transition). Won't be that visible until you actually push to values of planes a bit stronger 😄
Working on custom upgrade tokens to incorporate homebrew stuff (ignore the horrid topology, this is my first model ever and I improved after that)
That's cool! Can I ask why blender? I've done similar custom stuff in CAD tools, like onshape 😄 found it a bit easier on myself, but curious about other approaches
I had a friend teach me 3d modeling and he's used to blender, so I just did the same so it'll be easier for the both of us
Thank you !
What will be the homebrew rule btw ?
Custom upgrades. So far I've made 6 upgrades so there would be a total of 16, and in a really lucky deep dive a full team can have full upgrades.
I might work on more in the future, to give a little bit of variety to games where even if you manage to save every weapon upgrade you find, there would still be more variety than different players holding different upgrades (but coming up with upgrade ideas that aren't overtuned/overpowered is hard)
When do you think we will get expansions in tabletop simulator
There's no information whatsoever to go on, it's just guesswork. Could be on thursday, could be a month from now, could be in two months.
Earlier 'releases' aren't anything to go by since it's one individual making it, there's no telling at what point the assets were all completed from MOOD's side, or how much time they (mod creator) has to put into it currently.
So, it'll be on TTS when it's on TTS, any guessing, hoping, or thinking, is likely to just lead you to disappointing yourself.
Fellow Dwarves! Is there a community who is making their own maps and sharing them online? I finally have all the DLC except for "Goo from Above" but would like some combination missions using all DLC features. Anyone know of a community who is making, sharing and playing their own maps?
There's an app you can download, made by Jake P (SirSamson). Beyond that there's a handful on Board Game Geek as well, made both with the app and a few others have shared. Haven't seen that many shared tho. Best off with the app I reckon
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3512461/mission-generator-app-were-back-online
Amazing, thank you!
Is it Thursday yet? 😁
I cannot wait to see the new content that is planned!
Soon™ few more days... (repeat as necessary)
Me neither! Incredibly excited
Just received my copy of both the biome expansion and goo from above. I was wondering if someone has some painting tips for specific models and recommend paints?
My general tip is that you can look thru this channel's media tab, you can find some inspiration there
yeah, for quick results I recommend checking out the "slapchop" technique (on youtube there's tons of guides).
This will get your minis quickly up to tabletop standard via the contrast/speedpaint line of paints 🙂
Btw out of curiosity, did you order from mood publishing site? How long did it take from order to delivery? 😄
Ty for the suggestion. I have found some i really like the look of.
I think i will have to use that technique, good idea. I ordered from mood publishing last week saturday and arrived today in the afternoon. For context, i bought it in europe.
The board game tommorow
np
deltarune board game extension tommorow
Looking forward to support the expansion kickstarter tomorrow. Rock and stone!
Anybody knows what time will expansions launch?
July 3 at 3 PM CEST
Huh, I thought it was 2nd July
You thought wrong then
Any idea what that eel is?!?
Yup
It might shock you...
Has there been any talk of a possible all-in-one collection/box set? I don't want to buy them all and then have a complete set come out and buy again, but I would love that option to have all-in-one
Are you talking about a box that contains everything from all the expansions and base game or an all in pledge that will have everything old and new?
a box that would hold all of the base + expansions
I don’t know if they would have a box like that due to how big the game is but they will definitely have a all in for everything old and new so you won’t be missing out on anything
they "will?". Do they have a new kickstarter in the works?
Wow, good timing
It will come out 3pm cest
It has been awhile since they came out with anything new so don’t worry about missing out on one huge set this would probably be your best chance at that
But I would warn you if you plan on getting it you will have to wait the “kickstarter” delay so it could take over a year to show up so if you don’t want to wait that you can always get the base game to hold you over on their website
weird. I can't access the STL files? Need to replace the turret
I have the base, thanks, I was just hesitating buying more because I've been burned before where I get all of a game and expansions and then they have a Complete Edition
I might have em if you need
supported or unsupported?
I supported them- Oh, you mean- okay, is the support setup for Resin or FDM
I have ones with or without supports
I can just give both if you want? You just need turret?
Just the turret.
What's appropriate on here? Post right here or DM?
DM I guess.
sent
I do wish I could get the ones I paid for but oh well
Same but it's a shame that it's an "all or nothing" bundle and I'm too broke to buy another deluxe edition
Do we now what time and time zone the kickstarter launches?
^
Thank you :)
Np
Not appropriate to share a paid for product.
Any uploads they've done would have expired by now. You'd have to contact MOOD to get a new link.
Where can you buy the files?
from MOOD
Don't think it's on their webstore, but you can email support@moodpublishing.com
Backerkit in theory still has them so can probably get them through there: https://drg-expansions.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
Data cell mini?
Finally, I can eat the heart of the caretaker and see if I get any freaky powers
Think those might be the batteries? Since there's two
Will the rival expansion only have rival tech enemies and industrial sabotage or will there be more to it?
We will know more at around 3pm CEST
2.5 more hours ig
is it too much hoping that you'll be able to pick up the caretaker energy field's batteries and use them as bombs; like you can do in the videogame? It's a massive stretch, i know
those are data racks
batteries are small, brown with reddish energy colour
you can get them directly from MOOD publishing, by contacting their support. they send you a individual link.
Everything isn't going to be 100% similar though, and there isn't two data racks normally is there?
Actually, they could be the zapper things that rise out of the ground when you get too close to the caretaker?
Possible but I doubt important pieces like data racks will be used as replacement models for batteries or the Tesla coils
It wouldn’t make sense. Also I doubt dwarves will be able to step on the caretaker’s platform in the board game, which makes Tesla coils redundant as they’re used to deter them to camp under the boss in the video game
By the common thought that small details like those are overall just flavour mechanics , the board game should have neither batteries nor Tesla coils
Nor two data cell miniatures on the board during the caretaker fight...
What if they’re used as tokens for which power station is still active and which one is already dead
Another stretch, I know
Ah well, 2 more hours and we’ll know
My guess is it's just box art.
By logic if it's the data cell there wouldn't be two, nor would they be present during the fight, so it'd just be box art flavour.
Well done miners
Yeah it got funded while I was looking at the stuff crazy work
Same
@royal nacelle would you know where i can buy some round googly (but not flat) eyes for the barrage infector?
lol
Backed the collectors edition, my duty is done
Not off the top of my head, I'd have to look around (pun intended)
Great, thanks!
I was there before it was funded, lol. Talk about an early bird
I did my part
Excited! Got the full game so far, so definitely considering this. I'm bummed that the acryllic tokens got put as an addon instead of a stretch goal though..
Guess we go back to work now miners
No stretch goals seems like a good idea, given the result
I'm excited to see how the dice, new mat, and barrel game end up
Wonder if there'll be any new grenades or secondaries
185 euro for collectors is pretty good, 235 from last was abysmal
I take it you didn't get the collector's then?
I am very pleased to see all the new additions. More than they were letting on!
Metal dice is cool, too. Pretty pumped.
They are included in the collector's edition.
Acrylics have always been collector's or add-on if I'm not mistaken
Oh whoops! Egg on my face. Didn't see that, and misremembered from the last campaigns. Thanks for the correction.
I haven't pledged yet, but still might :)
I look forward to the inevitable surprise(s) but I am more than happy with the current selection
I typically split the pledges with my dad, who paints the minis, let's see if he can be swayed !
seems to be a bit of an error, in the collector's bundle image the new art prints are included even though they shouldn't be
They were quite thorough with adding in the remaining critters into the game. Not entirely sold on a smokescreen glyphid but I respect Mood for their creativity bringing unique board-game-only creatures into the mix. And shoot maybe Ghostship will feel inspired and bring a surprise into the video game for us. How crazy would it be to see a shockwyrm in Season 6?
a giant worm that digs though terrain would be dope, true
I'm glad there's a new neoprene mat included in the collector's edition. I've given up hope of storing this game compactly.
Seriously, SAME.
and how do we know it wont just be separate like the old one?
also, quick info about this thing
Anyone know what the mission cards do?
you can back the pledge without reward and later change to another tier and still get the coin
Im thinking of getting the collectors edition of this, but I only have the base game collectors editiong and not the mixed missions rule book.
Like, how do these additional biomes and missions tie into the base game?
The add-ons are all included in the Collector's edition. Also showed a break down during check-out.
i think i just misunderstood what you said lol, thought you meant the new mat was gonna store more easily somehow
Oh gotcha. Yeah no. I've managed to have all the game's current content in the original box + the Biomes expansion box. This will no longer be possible.
no idea how you fit the mat into that
*should clarify don't currently own a mat
They're for the spacerig expansion, to draw a random mission.
Shai hulud!
for the base game, you just pick a starting layout and go with it
If I dont have that, then how do I play this new content? We are currently halfway into the standard game campaign.
as long as you have the base game, you can add expansion stuff however you please
What does it mean by unsupported?
Maybe I should get the mixed missions book, so I have another campaign that we can adapt the new pieces to.
The models come as they look in the picture. They have no supports added for 3D/resin printing, you have to add those manually.
yea exactly that
I see
Kind of a tedious process, resin models should always come pre-supported imo.
3d printing programs have ways to automatically add supports, and honestly i wont be surprised if some expert in here adds said supports
Lets say I get the collectors bundle now. Should I then get the Mixed missions book so we have another campaing to draw from, then mix in the new pieces wherever it makes sense?
i think the wind knocked a plate into the floor one moment
But sometimes supports hurt the detailing on the final print, no?
Automatic supports rarely work well, sadly. Resin printing is espcially sensitive to poorly placed supports, with models failing completely if they arent done right.
the mixed missions book is a thing for if you own the space rig and and biome expansions
Yes, but you should always place them in such a way to minimize damage. And expect some amount of sanding afterwards to clean the mup. Supports are required, the models fail completely to print without them.
Right. So these expansions are only for random missions then?
Its always more fun to play with friends when you have a clear way forward, a structured campaign to work through.
Really wish they would offer the previous expansions on this page, instead of in that 600 Euro bundle, thats too much.
Each expansion comes with its own missions, the mixed missions combines missions from spacerig with biomes. Personally I find it easy enough to pick a biome, and then pick a mission.
without the space rig expansion it'll be like you currently play, you pick a mission and place starting stuff like you'd expect
some things like creatures get mixed into the existing cards too for more new stuff
Bottom of the page, they're addons. You can add them as you like in the pledge manager later.
Ohhhh, I must have missed that!
does the collectors editions for the new expansions come with the acrylic tokens or do I have to add them manually?
acrylic tokens are included
Those are included in the collector's pledge.
ok thanks
everything new is included
Do I have to do the base game upgrade to 2nd edition as well?
Also, why isnt the mixed missions book anywhere to be found? Kind of a requirement isnt it?
the mixed missions book is more of an extra thing, but if you want to i could get you a scan of it
since you're already buying a lot
It's a paid for product that MOOD have chosen not to upload online. Please don't share stuff like that here.
Ill get it some other way if I need to. But it really should be included with the expansions, crazy that it isnt.
yeah fair enough actually
You don't have to, it mainly gives you individual creature data cards instead of the large sheet, and larger rulebooks.
honestly you could probably ask mood about the mixed missions, they might even add it as an addon
Not a requirement at all, and I'm not surprised due to all the negative comments there were regarding it during the last campaign.
About the previous biome expansion, is it just two large two-sided cave segments per biome like this one? Or is it more? Im tryhing to decide between space rig or the previous expansion.
I appreciate the 2nd edition upgrade pack for the 1st edition game. ❤️
I'd have to check but it had 3 tiles for some biomes.
4 tiles each for fungus bogs and azure weald, 3 tiles each for glacial strata and magma core.
Ah good, because the picture above shows... One, for glacial strata. Like, there would be next to no mission variety with just that.
All biome tiles are double sided
6 double sided for this new one likely means 3 per biome.
And then you add the smaller, random off-shoot caves on top of that, with their usual random elements inside.
May be a bit much to go for 4 new biomes, then 4 of the previous biomes on top of that. Maybe Ill go for the space rig expansion that, altho I ahve no idea how that even works or how it ties into missions. Im gonna have to read up on it.
It's more that you get the creatures, I'd say.
But yeah if you're getting Biomes 2, then perhaps Spacerig instead of Biomes 1, so you can get Escort and on-site refining
altho Biomes 1 does have some of my favourite creatures
the biome expansion is definitely for the creatures, i mean theres a dreadnought
Ooooh boy these expansions look good
So I'm a bit mixed. On one hand, yay new creatures!
On the other hand, I feel like it's getting a bit overwhelming to have ALL the creature minis available and ready to spawn
basically, cross missions upgrades and modifiers
I meant you dont have to play with every expansion at the same time. I quite like mixing stuff up to really see some unique enemies shine often
Could always take out the cards from the swarm/event deck, depending on what you want to play with. Personally I also only grab one of everything really (other than grunts), and then fetch extras as necessary rather than pile up everything on the table.
That, or a side table with the boxes
Guh, this is tough. Not sure at all anymore! Ha.
Yup. I can barely imagine the indecisiveness of having to pick what to buy, as I've gotten everything. Having to choose would be immensely tough.
do you have "just" the base game or the goo bombers too?
I have double up of miniatures from Biomes and Spacerig too, since I made my own while waiting for the games to arrive xD
I have the collectors edition with Goo Bombers mini expansion.
That's not a bad idea
it might because i think shiny new thing looks cool but I'd go with horrors of hoxxes over the biomes expansion
theres a good amount of creatures and the biome specific hazards do look cool
Yeah I was thinking of doing that because it adds 4 new expansions. Getting 8 new expansions would be a bit overwhelming. So maybe Ill do the collectors edition of this and then the space rig expansion and call it a day.
Is the Tyrant Weed, Bulk etc worth it?
i think the tyrant is better than the bulk
it has one of those random tiles you flip, and suddenly getting a tyrant fight is quite the experience
I've enjoyed both
the bulk is really cool too but it's one large mini and a few cards
I've had more memorable experiences with the bulk, only one time have I run into proper trouble with the Korlok, and my team was already in trouble really so didn't feel as it was the Korlok on its own that did it.
Theyre really fun, both of them. Korlok expecially makes boring missions very interesting, expecially if your friends are new to the board game/video game
the bulk detonator evens out the creature roster I feel, especially once you add the biome creatures. Else you'll rarely meet high health creatures.
its a lot more possible to 3d print a bulk mini and get a few cards for him than to make your own korlok
Not really. Same same, if you're 3d printing. And you can designate one of the 8 hidden tiles to be the Korlok, as I do now due to the colour difference on the back of the tile.
but yeah me and johnno having wildly different opinions should tell you that they're both good
With the bulk det I designated one of the exploder spawn cards, and removed the other, prior to getting the real deal.
I think I would prefer the Korlok to be honest. Now I just need to look at a video of the space rig expansion to understand what Im getting.
You could download the rulebook for it from board game geek, and look through the components list and rules..
seems to be like the bulk but with dreadnought like abilities
Any guesses what collecting Jade might do?
tasty mid game snack
I'm kinda glad they didn't re-release everything as 3rd gen. I don't have to experience FOMO over things I already have!
I'm hoping they add a separate add-on for just half sleeves. I have so many extra standard sleeves from last time, and would happily double up on half sleeves.
Wanna know a horrible thing you can do? The caretaker piece uses the hidden cave segment shape. You can easily mix it into your stack of hidden pieces
surprise caretaker fight during your chill escort duty mission
i see nothing wrong with that
Gosh, I didnt realize the previous expansions all came with their own unique missions that showcase the new stuff. Now I really dont know. I quite like the new creatures introduced with the new biomes, but with the 4 new biomes I assume itll be the same. It would be quite interesting to mix in the new creatures and event cards with the new biome. in that regard, the previous biome expansion wins easily.
So the new expansios + biome 1 might actualyl be the best combo, plus korlok. This will spice up events a fair bit across all missions in all biomes.
Challenge accepted 😆
honestly, it's starting to be a whole too many boxes and things in general for me
it's already taking so much space 😵💫
At this rate I'll be able to enjoy the rogue core 1.0 release on a board game box throne
Mission 3 just became more interesting.. pickaxe the wall, get Caretaker, Korlok Weed, and BET-C, all at once.

extra points if you manage to kill at least 2 of those with a bulk
You can always make one.
I shall call it Mission X: Insurance Fraud
Oh right with horrors of hoxxes both the twins and the regular dreadnought can be added
Saw mention of it in the comments, they're fixing stuff as errors are found. Think it's fixed now.
Mood's keyboard gnomes are quite good at their jobs
yeah several things have been fixed, saw some mention of what STL packs go where etc.
Actually now that I think about it you could pretty easily balance this, give it only one appendage and much less starting health and you got a pretty easy diy mini expansion for any non rival missions
...Is that not the point? It's what I did with the Korlok (which for some reason happens to show up every other mission)
That's the point of the korlok and the newly revealed bet-c, but the caretaker is supposed to be mission specific
Fair point
The power stations are shown as being on their own hidden cave tiles, so if you mix in just the caretaker you'd be removing those, so it's no longer a industrial sabotage mission but only the caretaker. Would be like adding the dreadnought to a hidden cave tile, or swarm card, I suppose.
Imagine a mission where you spawn in a closed off droppod location. Mine 2 blocks to reveal only hidden segments with a full caretaker, betC, Korlok and all other hellish things one can think of
Yup, Mission#3 as I mentioned earlier 😛
No no no, skip the revealed segments and make a custom mission with ONLY hidden segments.
Calling it Bravo 6
i was kinda expecting them to make a rival presence mission modifier
or as theyre called: "warnings"
rival missions dont seem to have any special event/swarm cards tied to them except for the mission specific ones
Neither did Spacerig
Apparently Rival Incursion is no longer available on kickstarter. I wanted to get the bundle, but it’s only letting me get Horrors of Hoxxes
but rival enemies can appear in other missions through warning, escort duty mission doesnt add anything optional to the other missions
Check again, I just checked and I could select all possible rewards. Must be something wrong in your browser
Stuff can happen in the video game that doesn't happen in the board game, and other way around. Better to not expect a 1:1 adaptation.
Why cant I add upgrade kit to my pledge?
It worked this time
Think I might just get the collectors edition of this new release + korlok. Too much money to get the previous expansion. I think gameplay wise this will be plenty for now.
We still have the original missions to get through and I dont get many opportunities to play with friends, so its slow going.
New update.
Love it already
I can barely beat hazard 2
I think I officially subjectively have enough stuff with the first two expansions
looks great though
good to see that there is still a lot of interest though
Haz 6 is finally real
wish I could get the haz 6 cards on their own
the septic spreader mini almost makes me want to back
almost
I love killing that dude in game
this is awesome
It sounds to me that this enemy will damage other enemies too?
"targets" is usually only hostile ones.
Since it can't on its own target creatures.
don't forget the option to try out the game via steam's Table Top Simulator if you own it (with all pre this campaing released expansions)
Late to the chat but wanted to toss this in there as a HIGHLY EFFECTIVE homebrew rule to mix things up, though it does add a few minutes to setup. I have my swarm deck cards separated out into multiple piles, based on the creature itself. The base deck includes grunts/slashers/praetorians and the many random basic combos, then I have piles for each specific creature.
I roll the three green dice for each pile. 2 or more hits tells me to include the pile, and I prepare the mini for the possibility. 1 or less? Sorry creature, you won't show up this time!
I do this for high profile targets too like the Oppressor and Bulk Detonator.
It feels good knowing the enemy variety before the mission, helps prepare more uniquely in a way for greater gameplay variety. "Less is more" functionality.
Just thought I'd share.
With even more creatures coming, I think this will prove even more effective.
Could do the same but draw a card from each separate pile, so only some of each are included. That way you won't know exactly what shows up, but it'll be less heavy/special creatures.
Kinda like how version 0 of DRG had you select number of 'positive' cards to set the hazard level.
Yeah that could work too. I just liked organizing it like this for easy mini prep.
Not sure if relevant but I also play a homerule where the mission continues if the swarm track is maxed. Any card that says to increase the track by any amount instantly triggers a swarm instead. It's a lot of fun to try and power through instead of instantly losing!
holy crap thats amazing
having an enemy that destroys your minerals is going to be so fun
That's I think exactly the rule that's in the 2nd ed rulebook as an optional 'end of game' rule.
i might skip horrors of hoxxes just because i dont want to deal with hollow bough.
I guess MOOD saw what I was doing and incorporated it. You're welcome everyone lol
lol
Horrors of Hoxxes seems to have a lot more stuff than the rival incursion? Or am I missing something
Really nice to have so many more biomes
Horrors provides biomes and creatures, whereas Rival provides mission variety. This is not dissimilar to Biome and Spacerig, respectively. Both are good options for different reasons.
cant believe we are finally getting new event cards
doubt it, was ages ago 😛
thats interesting. we can hack turrets bot not patrol bots?
Aren’t those just missions for the robot side? Though that said, does make me wonder how the new biomes will get incorporated into the old missions
I think most people played by that homebrew rule ever since the game came out because the whole "you lose if you run out of time" just felt bleh.
i guess it makes a lot more sense because we already have friendly turrets
Makes more sense for the board game. Hacking immovable turret means it just triggers at a certain point for you automatically, whereas hacking/controlling a bot also needs movement control, a more complicated step added to the mix in a board game.
Quick question, the deluxe upgrade kit was already included in the biome expansion, wasn't it?
It was included in the previous Kickstarter campaign.
Aight then I don't need to get that
Game is entirely playable without it too, even if you don't have it.
whats the difference between cardboard, plastic, and acrylic tokens?
Acrylic is plastic.
Cardboard is what comes with the game, acrylic is the fancy plastic ones.
How accurate were the "Estimated timelines" on the past Kickstarters from MOOD (for the fulfilment to be exact)?
The US timelines were pretty spot-on.
The initial one was a little behind, but they seemed to recalculate for the first expansions.
First campaign was a few months off for some people, fulfilment started "on time" but took longer than expected. Second campaign I think was quite spot on.
so since the new expansions have acrylic tokens and the base game has cardboard wont they feel really different?
All the boxes come with cardboard tokens. The plastic tokens are extra.
oh ok
If you didn't buy plastic tokens for the base game but do for the expansions then that's kinda on you. You can still buy the plastic ones for the base game now.
I love my plastic tokens, they feel great! As a little bonus, it's possible to double-up on secrets in random sessions, since you can mix them with the cardboard ones for the drawing pool.
im considering getting plastic tokens for everything
but i also feel like they arent very necessary
I mean no, they aren't necessary. They are an addition.
I like having both for the redundancy, but honestly the cardboard ones look and feel better. Truer colours
The cardboard is just fine.
I feel the plastic look better? Maybe it's the lighting at my table though. Regardless, I've already scuffed a couple cardboard tokens, but my plastic ones will likely outlive me lol
Plastic is definitely more durable
I also like the way they feel. Tactile stuffs is important to me in my board games and cardboard is a tad bland. But we're seriously splitting hairs here, both work great. Plastic is separate because it's an extra, not a necessity.
do we know if the small card sleeves included in the card sleeve addon still have them fit in the box slot? I feel like i remember the mini cards had a problem when sleeved with becoming too big
Not sure. In general, card steeves sleeves always increase thickness and width. I have all mine sleeved but everything fits in the original boxes, albiet a bit tight.
Guys I'm sorry this feels like a dumb question but what does "Color injected" mean 😭
That the plastic will be in a different colour than 'base plastic', so gold, in this case
So if I buy a bundle that comes with this statue it will be gold not grey?
yes
Alright thats I wanted to know thank you!
i cant wait to make my steeve and memorial hall dwarf statues fight
I wish I had the memorial hall dwarf but hey at least I can get the steeve one now!
WOW its raised so much! hell yea
Someone can tell me where the shockwyrm appear? I had near 400hr in the videogame, is from the last season or something?
It's a board game exclusive.
I am so freaking stoked for this campaign! ROCK AND STONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also MOOD has been amazing at their timelines so its very exciting to see that I will get to play this likely by the beginning of next year, thats so fast!
I consider it a must-have, as every game with cardboard tokens eventually has the pieces break down
Then don't shuffle on all the creature swarm/wave cards
the big question is how many premium dice do i want to get? :/
i have 4 sets of dice 😄
don't you start as well. I've already gone through the turmoil of pondering that. *glares @tardy merlin *
but i don't see me getting 4 premium dice sets 😄
i bet. i was checking if i care about money per plastic but i didn'T care enough to complete my table 😄
You're going to be rude to any visitors and force them to play with regular dice, while you have premium dice?
And once extra set won't be enough, we both know that.
was thinking of you, johnno, when pondering that
and if i am polite, then i end up giving them to others and not using them myself
also not a solution
Yeah, I think we need 4 sets.
Trying to figure out how to explain to my wife that I just bought four sets of the same metal dice, hmmm
think the dice might still be plastic, just in a metal tin. What you have to explain is that these look slightly nicer.
metal die are usually a terrible idea
tends to be too heavy and can damage furnitures
I think they're a great idea! Coincidentally, want to buy my custom dice tray?
lmao
Extra reinforcement, the one sold by MOOD won't be enough.
speaking of, I need a dice tray so I might get it this time around
I can't keep using the 421 dice tray forever
it's not very practical
I got the DRG one but have been using my own custom one
I was really torn on which expansion to get because I only have enough budget for 1
Ended up going with horrors of hoxxes
The rivals are cool, but with normal caves, I think industrial sabotage would get old rather fast and extra biomes and enemy variety is more exciting for a standalone expansion
I mean I don't have a budget for any of this but my greedy dwarven tendancies need it so Rock and Stone YEEEAAAH
The responsibilities of being a functional human being are in the way of my reckless joys
Sincerely though, one thing I've learned is that we ought to live our lives with happiness. Sometimes that means spending $200 on a board game every year. I don't splurge much but I will happily put in some extra work or liquidate some of my assets for this joy.
If you aren't living your life, then what are you doing anyway? Eh?
I want to agree, but my fridge becoming empty for the rest of the month would say otherwise
Oh well, I'll just have to settle for torturing indulging my friends with a double elimination mission with both the old dreadnought and the new twins at the end of deep dives :)
By the way, is there any explanation as to what the jadiz will do?
it will make you happy
I don't think it has been explained yet. Maybe some kind of bragging rights point system?
There's always 3d printing down the road.
True, true
A friend suggested to turn it into a race where the first person to mine it gets to make a deez nuts joke
I can already feel the silence and suspense of when a jadiz spot shows up
How much did I miss?
What the heck does (Fixed) mean!?!
At least one person will die because of it
Where?
For the Add-ons
I've seen so many comments about it, I think it's like McGuffin says and stuff that's been changed. Tokens having wildly inaccurate prices, etc. Not sure if the upgrade packs didn't properly remove the earlier ones when something was tweaked, and now there's a duplicate.
The tokens one seems right, as the $dollar difference for...7 rival tokens going from 24$ to 4$ is silly
No clue on the Upgrade Kit tho
Either way, bit of patience, MOOD have been fixing errors, and I'm sure they'll sort stuff out. As long as you've pledged something you're fine for the coin, anything with your pledge can be changed later. MOOD are very helpful to fix things if need be over email as well.
MOOD has been great and very responsive, even if shipping takes a while.
Shipping is shipping, but I've seen them fix countless issues with people's pledges or orders. Or sending out replacements for broken/missing parts and whatnot.
I myself .. cough... had some extra dice sets added long after the campaign had closed.
How payments work on kickstarter? If you can change the pledge after you've made it, when does it charge you?
There's a bit about it in the FAQ. I think you're charged after the campaign closes
I see!
Altho, don't quote me on that. You can change (and cancel/refund) your pledge up until the campaign closes, and normally they collect funds right after that
And beyond that, last campaign there was some trouble with certain banks, so they collected payment multiple times, giving people time to talk to their banks and fix stuff.
Wasn't it a UK thing and them double charging tarifs?
So if you run into trouble you can contact them and they'll sort things out, so don't worry about missing out if you're low on funds and the money is supposed to be taken when you don't have enough or something. Happened to buncha people
well that too and Norway, but a lot of banks have checks in place that disallow payments to certain countries if you hven't done business with them before and such.
A lot of cards said "nuh uh" when a random payment to Denmark appeared.
Could be an issue if it's your first Kickstarter too, the bank can view it as an unexpected payment
You've opened up the horrifying possibility for me to be irresponsible with my money
what're they gonna do if you can't pay, send you to Hoxxes IV?
ᴵ ʷᶦˢʰ ᵗʰᵉʸ'ᵈ ˢᵉⁿᵈ ᵐᵉ ʰᵒˣˣᵉˢ ᴵⱽ
How do you writ so small
ᴵ ᵇᵉᶜᵒᵐᵉ ᵗᶦⁿʸ ʷʰᵉⁿ ᵘⁿᵈᵉʳ ᵈᵘʳᵉˢˢ
-# ermehgerd me too
ᵀʰᵃᵗ'ˢ ʰᵒʷ ᴵ ʰᶦᵈᵉ ᶠʳᵒᵐ ᵗʰᵉ ⁿᵉᵐᵉˢᶦˢ
Nemesis doesn't scare me
There's a built-in way to do it in discord where you type '-#' before your text, but it doesn't look good on mobile (just looks like faded text) so I went to an external site with a tiny font that's compatible with discord
I wonder how the caretaker's stl will work considering the whole "two separate parts" thing
You contact MOOD when you print one, and they will sell you a €50 clear plastic tube to connect the two parts. Or you can hire me to model a cylinder.. I'll only charge €35
Time to sharpen my plastic straw-cutting skills
I'm coming at this a bit late, but have MOOD stated that they would do the same as during the 2nd campaign where you could pledge 1$ and then upgrade your pledge afterwards in the pledge manager, and it would still count towards the 24hr coin?
Last time around people were being sent the coin even when they only pledged $1, and were charged $35 for shipping or whatever it was.
But I haven't seen it mentioned, specifically no. As far as I'm aware your pledge number doesn't change, so if you pledge now and change your pledge later it should still count for the coin.
Right, I fully intend on going full deluxe again... i just need to buy myself some time to pay down the credit card/appease the better half.
hrm.
Someone just asked for advice regarding their pledge, and kept it at €768.. because their partner plays. I think you need to get your better half into boardgaming.
Then it's no longer "I spent this money"... it's "hey honey we got new gamez!"
yeah
that works great for some people
I -do- see that KS has a "pledge over time" feature, which is actually pretty decent
This is mad confusing though, when you go to the page for confirmation:
Like, I'm pledging for the collectors and now i'm presented with this "fixed" tokens?
Isn't it just the first thing in the list of addons tho?
You can add multiples of a heap of stuff, even if it comes in the bundle
New weapon upgrades...?
I'm really starting to lean toward (Fixed) just being a new Kickstarter thing about something that's been changed.
Those were mentioned as tools, in the Rivals expansion.
Huh
Is there any way of getting only the STL for the bulk detonator? I really dont want to spend 30 bucks on a duplicate, but painting a crassus version of the detonator and having the reward be "all blown up surfaces ar now minable gold" instead of the normal reward for killing the dude seems like a blast
Ooh
You can buy the STLs for $20 I think... or extract from game files for free..
I made my own bulk detonator, before it was released
But I just want only the bulk, not all the other stls as well (also I am smallbrain and have no Idea how to extract files from games)
BY THE WAY! The BET-C is repairable!
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4366139/files Bulk_detonator.obj if you want a quick one.
I made my own but yeah takes some effort
Also, it's not lost on me that it's listed as "Pledge A/B/C/D/E" on the campaign, but 1/2/3/4/5 in the pledge list.
Hype indeed
Now i'm just on an internal debate about the card sleeves
I have the sleeves from the previous campaigns
I'm wondering if i should hit the big pile of them again... i'll end up with an overabundance of them though, which is kinda wasteful
12 mission cards, so that means we will be getting another 12 missions per expansion right? Do we think we will be getting an updates combined mission book? incorporating all the mission types and biomes and mixing them?
They look cool so im getting them
The tin is metal, the dice themselves probably are just custom dice that are plastic
damn half a million already
I did my part
I don't have the space in my board game closet for more
wish the worm expansion was sold seperately
It likely will be. You can pledge €1 and add it in the pledge manager.
Or wait for 'release' in the mood webstore.
Hmm I see, guess thats an option
its an addon, cant you pledge like a dollar and just take worm by itsself
If space wasn't a concern I'd love to get more, but I also have to paint everything and I have like 100+ unpainted minis
by the way, anyone have a picture of the memorial dwarf statue, I want to know how golden my Steeve is going to be
it is very unhealthy for me that I am also into Warhammer. So my boxes of DRG are currently staying unpainted until I get the balls to start on them
Yea same here
I got a necron combat patrol and cities of sigmar spearhead sitting around
I call it. The Pod Spawner has hereby been renamed the Mover Nexus. (partial credit to @lime jungle )
yellow plastic with a hint of sparkle. You know the LEGO gold?
I got a Necron 2k point army, spacewolves 1k points, and several Kill teams (I have a problem, none of them are fully painted)
Also the Nemesis Retaliation crowdfunding has like 55 minis
and the stretch goals add another equally large number of machine demon things
just too much plastic
Amazing, lego gold is peak gold. Though I might repaint him into a oxidised copper if I feel like it one day
for what its worth, DRG is easy to paint. Simple creature designs, large plastic sculpts
yeyeye, and a very defined artstyle
Tint might be off so don't come after me, but it's what my mind goes to when I think of it. Bit more yellow than that gold I reckon but still, you get the idea.
so flat colours and a generous bath of nuln oil or equivalent and I am set
zenithal + speedpaints if you are really lazy like me
sometimes another wash and a drybrush
Yeyeye, all is fine I wont send management after you
yeyeye, might go black primer, heavy drybrush of white and contrast bath for every surface to get the effect
or maybe a kind of borderlands-esque paint style with deep dark highlights
painted the full Blood Rage boardgame for a friend in just 9 weeks
still mentally recovering from that
holy hell, you are already LEAGUES above what I can get on a mini
some extra saturation in Photoshop to be fair, this is the raw image
but yeah, really proud of the result
shame I couldn't keep them lmao
thats good!!!
Me and my space wolf just chilling here while you are going hard
Though, these are very dark for SW
(Sorry for the non Drg board game talk people, I get hyped talking about my hobbies)
I think the blood rage minis ended up really nice because I could just go wild with the color choices
wasn't using anything in particular for reference
Man I love that big chimp with the fire sword, the OSL came out amazing!
so a lot of contrast just from picking the right colors, without much effort in edge highlighting
Yeah he is everyones favorite I talked to
did try some OSL on the DRG ones too
though the chimp-thing having black skin made it very easy
He takes the number one spot for me as well, close second would be the mountain troll
Looks amazing, what paints do you use? citadel, army painter?
army painter
basically went for both the speed paint and warpaints fanatic 2.0 sets
and some extra individual ones
very liberating to just be able to experiment with a large number of colors
great setup dude, Might look into this when the bank isnt as damaged as it is right now due to, you know, deluxe kickstarter plus goo from above
If you ever feel like sharing the other cool stuff you have hit me up! love seeing the projects others are active with
honestly I think the Blood Rage one was the largest thing I ever painted
I got into the hobby like 10 years ago but I am a very irregular painter
speedpaints are magic and make it so much more rewarding, being able to actually finish a decently large number of minis
having normal acryllic is important for touching up tho
once I finished the essay I need to write I will try to speedrun the DRG main box
yeyeye Speed paints are amazing
If work stops being a pain in the ass I might stop being tired when I come home and actually feel like painting
and i have a deadline for my plague marines kill team so I actually have to start those
understandable
I do have some nurgle boys too
these were done with normal acryllic
I think your detail work on the SM is very compareable to mine
maybe a bit cleaner
with all these miniature pics I feel left out. I think I forgot to show my driller when I posted him on Reddit..
if I may
always
painting is such an important part of the boardgaming hobby honestly
These look so amazing dude! Wait, lemme show my work from a couple nights ago on a nurgling, I was trying out some stuff
I only realised as I posted him on Reddit that he looks like the "shoot him again" cartoon meme
totally unintended
send the meme, I dont think I know this one
also, I absolutely LOVE this custome dude
3d printing looks so fun
another expensive hobby to get into
eh google it xD
the small nurglings always look so silly
that they are cannon is just wild to be
warhammer is so silly
I like the oxidation effect on the armor
I need a nurgling and squigg only killl team
that would be the ultimate goof off fight
THanks! armor is far from done, and actually want him to be darker bronze, but I dont want to strip him of this as I might look back on him all nostalgic and happy
yeah don‘t paint over finished minis
Hurray for the new expansions! Finally
Not sure if I'll pledge now or go for the 1$ for now, is there any price difference? I don't think so with the previous campaigns, but have seen some other kickstarters charge more after the campaign
I don't personally recall.
Also yey for Bet-C, really happy to see
Exclusive though, so be careful
I am getting started on my brood nexus, does the osl look good ?
Oh you mean if I pledge later on the pledge manager I won't get it? Damn
you will I think just don't miss pleding 😄
Better than anything I've ever done (cause I've never done OSL). But yes, I think it looks good.
Ah there is no way I won't back the campaign, have done so with the others and I always want the new stuff
since money isn't taken from your account until later I think it's safe to pledge now. There's even a new "pay over time" function I think?
Ah thanks Johnno, it seems I missed that, a lot of new kickstarters have that, nice. Maybe I'll just do that so I don't have to pay everything in pledge manager
And I see that now they offer sleeves for mission cards as well, that's nice
You do you, I can't for 100% say how exactly everything works, I do my best and as best I can tell money isn't taken until campaign closes. I could be wrong tho, so you do you and take responsibility of your own actions please xD
you should try it with some scrap minis to really test it, because it is not as hard as it looks
also your cryo driller looks really good
i love the highlights on the beard
Thank you!
Nah it's just I've been painting for ages before OSL really became mainstream. I'm used to a specific style. But I really should try it, yes.
i think some light osl could fit your style very well, it could make the detail pop even more
I like it!
It's ok, I'm paid more on my newish job so I can manage better
Yo the new models look awesome
what does the "fixed" part mean? they are not even out yet so how can you fix it already? I am so confused
thank you !
I really love the new expansions, I've already backed them already, the only thing that I think is a missed occasion would be a robot swarm card, so you get to see them outside industrial sabotage, but other than that I am baffled by the amount of content we got
I think I saw sometime earlier say that the tokens were priced at €20 when instead they should be €3. Jeanne from MOOD replied to one of the comments on KS to say so.
we think it might be about errors they had to fix.
Also I saw someone comment that for them only the (fixed) upgrade packs show up in addons, not the others, so same thing there just that the previous ones haven't been removed
About what?
i think they should have just added those abilities as pickaxe/helmet/armor upgrades instead of making a whole new thing for them
And how would someone who doesn't have spacerig expansion use those?
As explained the point is specifically to make it unique. And not part of a different expansion.
where are they going to fit on the player boards though?
they look to be the same size as a weapon upgrade
Where do they need to fit in? Where do throwables fit into your player board?
Wait and see. I don't understand this negativity or thinking they should do something different, before we even know how stuff works.
alright, so if I go for the collectors bundle, should I interact with that yes or no?
If you get collector's bundle nearly everything is included.
The plastic tokens show up as an add-on if you want extras, beyond the ones you're getting. You can get multiple of everything you get.
but the tokens are included in the collector's pledge
Depends if you want double up on tokens.
The reward page lists what you get for each different pledge, and what the add-ons are.
I'm still debating just getting an extra standard edition, for more event cards xD
pffff-
if i have to pick between one of the two main expansions im definitely getting horrors of hoxxes
i feel like its just better
Do you have to pick though?
not sure yet
ill probably do what i did last time and pledge $1 now and then buy my full pledge on the final day
(i think ill be able to get both though)
i think its great that they made a new neoprene mat, i was going to buy one anyways and now i get a better one
It's not likely "better".
From what I saw from MOODs response it's just different graphics, for variety, and not "different".
well thats still great
it means i can pick between two designs
does the neoprene mat fit in the box though?
No, not at all whatsoever.
Rolled up it's twice as long as the box is wide.
Unless you fold it in half and .. no. No it doesn't fit.
what's the 2024 "promo card" that people keep referencing in the comments?
its a beer card for the space rig called Glyphid Brew
its on BGG
Was handed out at some Con in 2024.
i really want it too
I see
I was wondering, since I went back to the other campaign and didn't see anything about it.
I have a question about the newest board game expansions on Kickstarter, if I buy the expansions, will they come with cardboard standees or will all the new enemies like the caretaker be plastic minis?
Because I want to know if I'll need to buy the expansion with the stls if I want the minis on Kickstarter
Everything is minis.
No, the STLs are extra if you want to print additional minis.
Ok, great, so I can just buy the bundles if I want all the new expansion minis? Great
There are no standee expansions.
There are no standee expansions, everything is minis. The only standees that exist are the base standard game.
Hope that helps!
Well, that's good news, thank you @royal nacelle, I was afraid I'd have to pay almost 200 more dollars Just to get proper minis
Nope everything that's shown as minis comes as minis, and disclaimer it's still an ongoing Kickstarter campaign so things may change but yeah should be minis for the 3d models you see.
And if something you see isn't a miniature, I'm available for commission work to turn your dreams into lovely miniatures for 3d printing.
Thanks mate, I appreciate it
What is the turret controller token for?
The turret controller.
My head just exploded
there was a preview of it in one of the trailers
I think a lot of people mightve missed the new trailer
There's a new one?
49 seconds vs 16 seconds from earlier, or somesuch
yeah a long one
nearly minute
I blasting Pika Girl, else I'd look it up for you
Oh yeah I assumed it was the same one on the kickstarter page
It's a lot longer
Thanks for letting me know
has some cool stuff in it
Anyone have any theories on what the new mat could add?
A spot for the grenade cards maybe
i always just put the grenades under molly
and i dont think there would be room for any additions
I put it on the logo, personally
if i pay $1 for the coin with one payment method can i change payment methods to buy the full game
I have a question, how long will I have to back the campaign before it closes? I see that you get the metal coin of you pledge in the first 24 hours, so does that mean it will close after that or you just won't get the coin?
Usually about a month
I put the grenades back into the tray (which you get with the deluxe main game) and i put open resupply cards on the logo
Well i did the full pledge
It is shown quite visible on the top of the project page. The 24 hours is just for the coin, if you dont want it you still have 28 days to go!
is the Drg broad game ever going to go into retail stores?
Retail stores I wouldnt know, but the board game is purchaseable from the MOODpublishing store front online!
https://moodpublishing.com/collections/deep-rock-galactic
Some should still be available, as well as some expansions I think depending on where you are located
Why did i see the overloading magma worm in one of the new expansions?
I was like "HOLY SHIT THIS ONE IS POPPING OFF DAMN!" but then realised that one is 200K, the other 20K
I've seen the Standard Edition in a store a handful of times. It's a treat finding it in the wild
Never seen the Deluxe, nor any of the expansions however
I slip them under my sleeve so I get a sneaky advantage for later
This fun trick also works great for casino games
hello, im owner of the 1. deluxe edtion + all the add ons. so far ive sadly only played the base game. I want now to to purchase the Pledge 4: Collector's Bundle. Ive read some comments bout wrong cardbacks in the past edition(second one)? I kinda lost the overview. what would you suggest me to order beside the pledge 4? do i need additional card sleeves for example? Do i need the upgrade Kit: deluxe(fixed)? would be glad if someone could help me out 😄
just found out there was an Essen Spiel exclusive card, my collection wont be complete...
Bruh
Godamn
I managed to finish my brood nexus, thought’ill share
Will I still get a coin if a edit my pledge after 24h?
edit -> yes
cancel -> no
Also:
Can I change my pledge?
Yes, you can change your pledge here on KS before the campaign ends or you can change it in the pledge manager after the campaign. In the pledge manager you can only upgrade your pledge. You can also add extra add ons over there.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/moodpublishing/deep-rock-galactic-rivals-and-horrors-of-hoxxes/faqs
between that and the KS exclusive stuff this time around, i'm left a bit cranky about this one; variants and non-gameplay stuff is great for exclusivity, actual gameplay being exclusive is terrible practice
i do see the point of that. But in the end: Most people, who care, will be getting it through kickstarter
i do agree on something requested in the comments: make it available for all in the long run, as there is no exklusivity needed for that
the incorrect card backs were on some of the RnS cards from the expansions, they were missing little bolts in the corners, they sent out a survey if you wanted replacements ages ago, so you've missed out on that, but it doesn't really make that big a difference; if you have everything from the first two kickstarters, you only need pledge 4, and sleeves, the small size sleeves are new so you'll need those anyway, and maybe some for the new cards depending on how many sleeves you had left over last time; if you got the second kickstarter, you already have the upgrade kit
Love the color scheme
(they really need to add information about just what you need and what you don't depending on what you backed before, it's pretty confusing at the moment)
if you didn't back the last campaign (Space Rig & Biome Exp), then you wouldn't have the upgrade kits and would need to consider one of those (depending on the edition of your base game)
but they are not mandatory. It is just nice to have updated manuals and the creature cards (The base game had them as a big overview sheet instead of individual cards / creature iirc)
the rest is just options to buy stuff you might have missed or not bought the last campaign(s) (acrylic tokens, [...])
no, i know that, i was just clarifying for someone 🙂
I know the feeling 😔
and, yeah, i don't mind paying money for previously free gifts, or there being inconcequential stuff like the coins or gold minis that are forever exclusive, it's just gameplay stuff
huh, i didnt know that happened
and this isn't thatbad compared to some i've seen, where i've come late to something only to discover that half of it was KS exclusive and no longer available
well damn, turns out project update 24 went to my trash mail folder automatically
the update about the mismatched cards form
i think i filled that in, but honestly can't remember
I guess ill send an email, but i dont think ill be getting those fixed cards
can't hurt, worst they can do is say no
I LOVE that color palette
thank you ! I know that my minis painting skills still are not the best but the advices you told be helped me so much
thnak you very much !
i still remember that stingtail you painted, it looked so cool !
Cool idea for the rivals' stls: make the connecting piece of the caretaker pyramid to its base the data rack that you can remove and take after you beat the caretaker
seconding what he said, super aesthetic
I saw you were going for a similair look with your other minis, should be really great when finished
appreciate it ! I am hard at work since I have a lot of free time currently. You're mini painting skill are awesome too
Dang, never heard anything about this. 😭
On a more positive note... Dang, that Shockwyrm looks cool! That's a boardgame enemy I'd love to see ingame
Same
OH, the cardback change was between 1st and second editions. Guess it doesn't matter for me anyway
Hey yall - I'm not seeing any stls on the Mood site or in the pins; any idea whether it's possible to buy them anywhere other than during a kickstarter?
You can contact MOOD directly at support@moodpublishing.com
I think the STLs are still up on Backerkit but I'm not sure how fast you'd get them from there since they're busy with the new Kickstarter
Thanks! Took me a minute - didn't find them in the base game Backerkit page, looks like they're all in the BKit pages for the expansions. Good to know I'm not shooting myself in the foot if I don't snag them all now 👌
Hey guys, someone in the kickstarter comments reminded me of the cards mismatch from 2nd edition and mood providing us with a solution through a survey about sending replacements
Has anyone received them? I recall they were going to do it eventually
I missed the updates 2-3 months ago and missed my chance to get added into that list, and they didn't respond to my question on this KS about possibly adding it.
They're said before that you can email them, that they have spares they can send out.
Oh sweet!,
Just ask support about the corrected card backs?
yup
The bug cooker is going to be so fun
AP die and explosive die.
Those are good on every weapon
I meant especially effective on this gun
I guess the one that lets you use ammo of any type would also be nice
To conserve primary ammo
I suppose, you'd have a very limited number of shots though. I'd rather add upgrades that make each ammo spent count more, as per usual.
The stun upgrade seems useful with 4 dice
I promised myself that I wouldn’t dump any more money into this game…but man…that Horrors of Hoxxes expansion is looking mighty tasty.
I guess. I just prefer to give those upgrades to low damage weapons since they tend to have some up side stapled to then (subata, zhukovs, lok-1, ect.)
Sure but that depends entirely on what weapons are being used, who's where, what upgrades have already been found, etc etc etc.
Of course, but I think that it gets more value from more niche upgrades like interchangeable ammo and extra range, that (at least in my play group) are considered less strong and ofter get taken just to get exchanged in deep dives
There are several weapons I'd put either of those on rather than the Bugcooker.
6 dice monster, for 2 different ammo hehehe
The grenade seems neat, more so with the new dig sites or whatever they are called.
Kinda like a different kind of flare, imagining a driller just doing 8 pickaxe damage in two actions, ignoring resist, just cus.
I think the grenade opens up the possibility for a melee only dreadnought kill
Just requires a lot of luck, and a lot of guts
Just seen the FAQ on the upgrade kits, so does this mean if I backed the initial campaign & have the first ed, and the last campaign, I dont need to pick up the upgrade kit as I remember the edited cards & rule book being provided in the second campaign or is this a totally new upgraded set do we know?
It's the same upgrade kit. If you got it from the previous campaign you won't need it.
Unless you want double up
Ah cool thanks Johnno, I thought that was the case, just found the email wording a little confusing. - also long time no see, I have been quite quiet. Finally gotten around to beginning to paint the last expansions 🤣
Starting with the meatball I mean Ommeran
What is green sphere, couldn't find anything in the small cave segment part of the manual?
Tunnel exit
Spawns creatures whenever a card says "all exits" or "nearest exit" etc
Nasty
I spotted one on the glittery cave wall tiles too
Yeah. I really like how it spices up one of the most basic things in the game
I suppose you just shuffle them in with the normal wall tiles
Also we forgot about the ignore resistances weapon upgrade
The bug cooker might be one of the best guns for it honestly
Nah. Minigun.
It's still just range 3/5 with a green and yellow die per ammo. Plenty of weapons out there that could put it to just as good use. Anything with green/yellow dice, the Breach Cutter, etc.
You're affecting a lot of dice in one shot sure, but once you break it down to dice per ammo it's not necessarily groundbreaking. And once you consider AoE or piercing weapons.. eh.
All in all it seems fairly balanced to me.
Considering bullet and fire damage are the two most common damage resistance types, I still think it would be far better on it
Not necessarily when you consider the ammo cost, you're less likely to end up using it that often. Plus you're less likely to hit with them as well. Flame dice are the bane of my existence.
I'd likely stick it on the DRAK25, or GK2, if I was playing Scout.
Why? almost no enemy is resistant to pierce
The enemies that are are more often a higher priority to kill, and the enemies that're resistance to bullet/flame I'd take out with the AP anyway.
Also on the topic of scout primaries, is the m1000 ever useful?
Sure, just requires a different playstyle than the others.
And Drak25 requires more planning
I'll try it some time then
The drak feels more powerful than the other primaries because it deals the most damage per ammo per action and the reduced range is less of an issue with the scout's lightfooted passive
I only ever jam it as a hail merry when fighting stuff like an oppressor/praetorian that's already close to dead
By that logic just stick it on something like the flamethrower to delete the big problems
And by that logic I consistently have to play the Driller?
Fair point
As I said earlier, always depends on what classes are playing, where the Dwarves are, who finds the upgrade, which weapons everyone is using.. more often than not from my experience the Dwarf that finds the upgrade usually uses it, unless they already have multiple.
You play with a "finders keepers" rule?
No, but I'm not going to hold off on adding an upgrade I can put to use just because some other dwarf halfway across the map might be able to put it to 5% better use. I'd rather be fair so that if I've already gotten an upgrade I might give one to someone else, but just the same Scout often ends up with multiple because he's moving about.
That's lame
One of my fondest memories from the game is opening a cave with an upgrade I didn't need, so the gunner and driller raced across the map to get it
The driller used the flamethrower to block the entrance to the cave segment after him and the gunner used ziplines to bypass the fire and take the upgrade
I haven't gotten the drg board game yet (I really want it tho lol)... but the idea of kickstarter exclusive gameplay (specifically the bet-c and glittery cave walls) are really making me less interested 😭 (sorry, I'm a huge board game fan but this is one very specific pet peeve of mine)
totally agree with you, but so many other BG companies do the same, that they can't not do it.
FOMO rules the gamespace right now
it sucks, but it's the truth.
yeahhhh, like.... I don't mind the idea of kickstarter exclusive
- fancier pieces
- alternate art
- bonus merch
- literally anything that doesn't lock off gameplay mechanics
or even selling the extra content at a higher "you missed the kickstarter" price
I don't get why companies never do that last one tbh, like I'd totally buy an expansion at a higher price just because I didn't back the kickstarter tbh
They already do, the prices have gone up a lot since the first campaign. And the Kickstarter prices are always discounted.
Yep they're going to be exclusive.
that sort of thing just makes me not want the game in the first place, since my brain won't like that I can't "get all of it"
It's seemingly impossible for them to please everyone, the whole reason they removed stretch goals was due to all complaints during the last campaign. Now we're getting free stuff (consider that BET-C would've cost another additional €25 or 30) and people still complain.
But.. you quite literally can get everything right now. You're arguing over an idealistic point that doesn't affect you. Go grab the all in €600 pledge.
I am not in a situation where I can do that at the moment
MOOD are not likely to change anything in the campaign, or add anything extra like people keep asking. There's been wishes and wants during each campaign and they haven't budged.
Beyond which they're trying to cut down on the time to delivery, anything new would take time to design, prototype, etc etc.
yeah I know, just sad about it
And you can proxy the gameplay elements you might miss, if anything is exclusive. I'm really the wrong person to complain to, considering just how much extra stuff I've done for the board game.
I wasn't complaining to you specfically lol
Did previous campains had any kickstarter exclusives exept for tge coins?
Beer mug event marker for the first and memorial hall mini for the second afaik
I agree that making them KS exclusive is a little annoying, but it's not the end of the world. I don't think the glittering walls for random rewards/dangers and bet c for a chance to get a walking turret add all that much to the game
It is fomo, but it's not like the game is unplayable without them. Not even close to that
It is still quite anti-consumer to create a timed exclusivity for gameplay mechanics within a game.
Think it's a moot point, currently the campaign only has 3% new 'customers', and exceedingly few will buy everything if they haven't followed the game for the past 3 years.
Matters little if you can or can't get one specific card or enemy, there's so much in the game that 75% of people who pledged for the first campaign haven't returned.
Each new campaign effectively halves the number of customers, due to the game's size. The more that's added the more people feel that they have enough.
I can agree with that. Pretty much the exact reason I won't bother with any mini expansion ever
Well people might buy these products in many years time -- they may not be able to purchase now, and some people might discover these games after the fact.
I wouldn't agree that it's moot as it sets a precedent for companies creating their own curated supply and demand. Following the logic of "the more added the more people feel there is enough" you could apply the same to video games. Gaming studios get enough flak when they create timed cosmetic exclusives; the only reason they don't do the same for gameplay changes is that the video-gaming audience would kick up too much of a fuss -- so for that reason alone I think it's worth discussion and definitely not moot.
I think you're exaggerating the amount of gameplay there is from a single brew card, and BET-C. Especially so when we can create said things after the fact as we please. We can comparatively easily make new things if we wish, far easier than in video games, and even there people do all sorts of mods and whatnot.
Y'all. I really want to back the Kickstarter and go all in. I don't want any of the extra art or toys though.
Is the All-In Collector's Pledge still the best deal?
I just want all the gameplay with the most premium components. Miniatures, acrylics, etc.
It is, even if you don't want the art or coasters or toys
Dang
it just is what it is... the bigger the bundle, the better the discount, you know?
Does anyone has any homebrew rules to make the game a big harder ? I want to add more tension to it
Draw two event cards per turn? 🤷♂️
Makes sense, it's a bigger drop of cash too
Yeah, though, I was particularly happy to see kickstarter putting a feature where you can pay over the course of installments
my 300$ CAD purchase, instead of being in 1 hit, will be over the span of 3 months, so i'm not going to feel it as much, at 100$ per month.
I didn't about that. That's a cool feature
Rock and stone!!!
It's purely co-op, just like the videogame?
yes. up to 4 characters that fight together against the board and time (rounds)
My favorite part of the game is the solo mode. Just like the video game I get my money's worth by playing in my free time
yeah, you can play solo as one character or solo as 2-4 characters
The game has been very well reviewed by more casual gamers, which is great because I like the complex action economy of the game, and other people like rolling dice and killing bugs, lol
does anybody know if you can just get the miniatures cause i just wanna paint them i think there so cute
lil sad theres no golden loot bug in the packs
outside of just buying the deluxe version of the game, you could buy the STL files and 3d print them yourself or maybe commission someone to print them for you. The base game STL files include a lootbug mini btw!
ooooo ok thank you
Been a minute, finally got some time to continue painting. Oppressor was trickier than I thought he'd be but I am happy with the end result.
Crud. I forgot Kickstarter won't allow me to use Discover for overseas campaigns 😭
Assuming you can add everything individually in the pledge manager you'd end up paying nearly the same as the ALL IN bundle. You'd miss out on two neoprene mats, set of premium dice, acrylic tokens for all expansions, for €40 or something. Even just the extra dice are really handy, and a neoprene mat as backup..
Actually, two sets of extra dice, since the classic addon bundle comes with the regular dice.
in the ommoran heartstone card "surrounded" it says "advance the swarm threat marker 1 space. trigger a swarm event if it lands on a blank space." that means if you land on a swarm space a swarm is not triggered right?
sorry if this has been asked before
Swarm spaces trigger swarms.
okay
Card says "even if". Not "only if".
it should have just said "trigger a swarm no matter what it lands on"
Even if means previous rules apply and it's additional.
That's what it says with the "even if" wording.
In TTS it does, but yea on the physical card it says event. Either way, it doesn't change the rules.
I just noticed something. The bug cooker doesn't have the "extra ammo slots" on its overclocked form
This one
I wonder if that's intentional
Intentional in a graphics design choice of way likely, since it doesn't have space. That or it's still WIP.
Question on aoe attacks and big enemies: if I use an aoe attack like the epc on an enemy that takes up multiple tiles, does it take the damage only once or once for every effected tile it's standing on?
Only once, written on the oppressor's rules.
talking about that what's the ressource needed for the new weapon ?
I think it shows primary and secondary ammo
not sure though
Yeah one of each
noice idea
So ignoring the fact I’m running out of space here
Glittery cave walls. When it says these are backer exclusive, is this like an entire ass mechanic that’s only for backers
Still getting it, but not really cool :/
I do appreciate they’re selling first edition upgrade kits tho, that’s enough that I’ll look past it this time
hope they don’t mess up the hidden cave segment back this time
Result of there being so much whinging about the stretch goals. Now we get backer exclusive stuff instead since stretch goals weren't enough.
There's a blurb about it in the Risks and challenges section on the main campaign page
eh, I didn’t really mind that the stretch goals weren’t much of a stretch personally, but that’s life
Oh good to know, thanks
I love it, little reward for backing
Yeah there was definitely a bit of quality mismatch in the last set, honestly would get a replacement for it if I could
the korlok tile specifically anyway. The rest is fine
I've spotted a mention of a fix but I'd have to go dig it out
Pointing out anti-consumer business practices ≠ "whinging"
Calling it "anti-consumer" is indeed whinging.
You're such a brown-nose, man.
Feel free to take it up with MOOD on the Kickstarter comments, and keep this place friendly and light. I'm fed up with the bitching and moaning spilling over here.
None of us here can do anything about it. We all have our own opinions. Things are not going to change no matter what we say here. Take it up with MOOD in the appropriate place.
Even if there is a fix, it’s the kind of fix that’s likely to cost 35$ plus shipping unless they’re offering trade-ins
Likely they'll send it with pledges, and separately at some point to those that didn't pledge this campaign. Figure they'll be producing them at the same time.
Oh, that’s perfect if that’s what happens
They've already mentioned sending out packs of cards free of charge to those that wanted them. Not sure if that's underwy or if that too will be produced with this next run
I have brought it up on Mood's Kickstarer, as have many others. This is an official Discord, and it's clearly a contentious enough issue for multiple people to bring it up. It's in topic and isn't in invalid topic just because you dislike it.
Yeah, i would appreciate not having to actively ignore the card backs
Glad they’re fixing the quality issues
This is not MOOD's Discord. This is the DRG video game discord, and the devs here kindly made a channel for the board game fans to use. There's no direct contact to MOOD here.
and if we’re talking about the backer exclusive parts, I think “replacements” is also a pretty major concern there
either way, back to work for me so I can afford board games
I love it, little reward for backi
Yes, I understand that but it's still a DRG property. I would not be surprised if MOOD's team are in this server and even if they're not it is still a channel for said product. Here is absolutely a valid place to discuss this as anywhere.
as long as you keep it friendly
Are the rulebooks out yet?
Not on BGG and haven't seen mention of them yet
Shame, would like to look over them before putting my money down
You didn't do a €1 pledge for the 24h coin?
I learned about it today
ah shame
well worst case could throw in €1 and then add stuff in the pledge manager, or even late pledge, but I think late pledge prices go up a bit. The campaign is discounted quite heavily.
Which could also lead into the whole “timed exclusive” discussion but I don’t want to cause it’s early. I don’t have any of the other kickstarter exclusives anyway due to money/time/simply didn’t care for em
Yeah, probably will anyway, just not as ideal for me
I trust em enough
Could pledge for the bare minimum that allows you to get the exclusives.
And get the rest later.
I mean, I guess I could have but again I just didn’t really want any of those
The timed exclusive sale is something I’m more interested in on this one :p
Tbh I'm more interested in the error cube than the bet c on the rivals' pledge
Yeah. It's cool
Does it have a function outside of tracking swarms?
It's completely cool if it doesn't I just couldn't tell
