My best advice (and this kind of sucks because its expensive) is use a humidor and some weights. I run a humidor in a small room with the boards layered beneath some heavy bench press weights for about a week and then you stop the humidor and let it sit another 24-48 hours with a fan on it, and it will be straight as an arrow
And this is only something I would recommend in an arid biome, where I am its like 40% or less humidity, probably have different luck in a wetter area closer to the equator
Maybe an alternative for ! Could be an effect that would make you take double damage for a turn so the stalker isn’t a condamnation to take 3 damage but he would force you to get really defensive to avoid getting hit by other creatures
I'd be careful with any notion of double damage, you're forgetting that some creatures do 2 (or more) damage, and some warnings have all creatures doing 2 damage (and others doing 3).
I think that might be even more damage than I’d want if things go sideways, plus it’s the stalker that does the damage in the video game so don’t know how thematic that would be. I like the input though!
Uh oh, I already did it.
💀
Would you guys n gals prefer first buying the Space Rig expansion or the Biome expansion?
Personally, Biome. New primary weapons, more creatures, new cave tiles, biome hazards, and the dreadnought elimination mission is usually pretty sweaty, so I like the added challenge.
Awesome.
Had no idea new primary weapons came with it
Yup and some secondaries, and throwables
Gee TWO secondaries?
Nope, Revolver and targeting system for the gatling gun
Unless you count the gatling as secondary cause it's shouldermounted xD
question: the Menace's rule card states that it hides when it takes damage from an attack. Does the damage caused by a dying exploder count? Because it wasn't necessarily from a direct dwarf attack.
If it doesn’t specify it has to be from a dwarf
The creature rules say that if it takes ANY damage from an attack (loses health) it will hide for a short while (until the end of the dwarfs turn)
this will include exploders or anything else that can deal damage to other bugs
I know that the resupply doesn't block LoS, but does it block movement? I couldn't find any mention about it
I tried searching through the chat history here, and the only good response seemed to conflict itself
It's covered in the movement section, "special miniatures". You're allowed to move through it but not end your movement on it.
So it works like the sentry in that regard, good to know
Hopefully one last clarification: the rulebook says "The sentry gun only fires 1 shot per creature per event or swarm phase", so does it trigger for every event or only when the bugs activate?
Hi guys, I got a question, altough it not only regards DRG.
How do you handle that when you sleeve games and the game maybe isn't prepared for that? That results in the issue that the cards won't fit into the box anymore.
Do you take the inserts out and thrash them? Keep them?
Air can get trapped between the sleeve and the card which can result in it being thicker, especially after double sleeving. It may not be noticeable on a single card, but you can definitely tell when you stack them.
You can try pressing and squeezing the air out as you sleeve them. Leaving a stack under some heavy books overnight can also help.
Otherwise, if you can no longer fit the cards inside the games box (maybe the sleeves are too wide) you can get a separate card case which can keep all of your cards together and protected.
Most usually fit about 100 double sleeved cards but you can get different sizes for what you need.
I never really figured out how you're supposed to fit all the cards neatly back into the box
I always end up splitting a stack so they'll all fit
yea thought about that but i'd love to keep everything in one box
They are only sleeved once, I'll already tried to get the air out. I'll try to lay sone books on them, thought it maybe has no big effect if the air is already out
If you're lucky, you might find custom inserts for the game's box for better organization. I know there are a few for drg
I guess that DRG will not be a problem - but I have other games where it definitively will be or already is a problem ^^
Sentry fires when creatures activate, move, or spawn. But only once per phase, so if a creature spawns in range and moves you only fire when it spawns.
i recently got this finaly and i have a question about it
how do i put it away when everything is punched out?
do i do like a gloomhaven like thing?
What's the gloomhaven thing?
arange the tiles in a certain way to make it fit a box shape
Kinda, I guess
there's plenty of different ways to pack the box, you have to find one that agrees with you
but i have a custom wooden incert for that behemoth of a game
oh also how well do the minis prime and paint?
very well
might need to wash them first I suppose, some have reported mould release agent interferring with primer.
other than that, they're fine
i personaly wont be doing that my sister will shes more talnted with atht syuff she helped paint mmy warhammer 40k army XD
but would like to know so i can get an understanding of it
ok good to know
there's a packing guide on board game geek, I can go find the link in a minute or two
ok ty
is this the standard or deluxe? i got the deluxe so i could get the kickstarter stuff lol
ok i didnt fully read looks like thats a deluxe box
another question is the cards are they like standard mtg card size?
if so i was thinking of juat getting dragon shield for sleeves at some point
I don't know standard MTG sizes. But the DRG cards are 63x88mm
ok yea they are the same size cool
i am pickey with sleeves lol i blame my old semi competative mtg days but that was long ago no need for that stuff here
i will order sleeves when i can
Sleeves have been a hotly discussed topic for nearly 3 years..
Dragon Shield sleeves work fine
I recommend Ultimate Guard Katana sleeves for your secondary weapons. Dragon Shields are just slightly too big to fit in the player board
Do you guys know if the Goo From Above expansion will ever come back to the US?
I've only recently gotten into the Board Game and I missed out on the Goo From Above expansion
I was just wondering if it'll ever come back
There's been no public/official statements regarding "ever". MOOD have so far restocked their webstore when they've done prints of another game (recently Valheim), so odds are they'll do that in the future as well. Otherwise you could purchase the STL files and have the miniatures printed (yourself or by a friend/or even outsource it), the rules are available on Board Game Geek.
Ok, I'm hoping that they will restock and I don't have to print all of it myself because I would like to support the creators in any way I can
im the same way it juat feels odd doing it like that when theres an offical one
im odd like that lol
REAL, I just like everything to be from an offical store
my local board game club has the deluxe edition and all the addons to it, but it's a bit of a mess right now
next time I go there, I might just autistically take them apart and try to cleanly repackage them
hell, I couldn't even find the stat card for the dreadnought or korlok tyrant-weed in their respective packs
They don't have separate stat card, apart from their normal cards.
I couldn't find any stat cards for them
Dreadnought's rules are in the Biome rules, and Korlok's rules are on the back of the box.
I see
Probably mixed in with the rest of the creature cards then?
you just said that there were no stat cards, so that explains why I couldn't find any
I'll just need to take a closer look next sunday then
Is the glyphid reference board standard? Or was it Kickstarter exclusive?
Sorry I meant to ping johnno
It was 1st edition, 2nd ed instead got the creature stat cards
Ah okay, thanks
What does the Mission specific event for Mission 11 mean with "bearings"?
Deceptive reflections. The active dwarf rolls a creature die. If the result is !, he loses his bearings and becomes 'stunned'
It's just descriptive text, to lose your bearings means to become lost or to lose your sense of direction.
You can spin your dwarf around on their spot and then add the stunned marker.
does anyone know if there is a guide somewhere on what colors to paint the minis?
also rock and stone
It's entirely individual and depends on not only which colours you personally prefer, but which painting styles/techniques.
i see ok ill try to figure out the colors thanks
Not a guide, but this is one place I've drawn inspiration:
Also, @rigid birch will sometimes post live streams of painting minis, and they're gorgeous. Take a look at those too, I'd say. 🙂
I stream almost every saturday, I'm super close on getting all of the expansion miniatures done, just some pigment powdering, bases and highlights to go
Hey do they sell the minis separate from the actual board game? I don’t think I’ll play it but I would love to just have some little drg minis around
They do not. They do however sell the STL files, so you could buy those and have some miniatures printed.
Speaking of, MOOD just released the STL files for their upcoming Valheim game
That game ever get out of early access? I never jumped on that bandwagon.
it's still in EA but closing in on 1.0
Sick ty
Messaged the creator of the mission generator app on BGG. All of the biomes have been completed but Google is blocking the updates due to “impersonation”. They have written permission from MOOD and have filed an appeal…so expect a large update soon.
Hey guys, I'd like to design a custom inlay. Are there any breakdowns of statistical/stochastical analysis of the game? Like, e.g. "What is the expected value for the number of throwable-tokens to be played"? I'm not good with stochastics, but I want to optimize my tray. 😅
A lot of what's required in play is down to which missions you choose to play, or for throwables and weapon/class tokens it's down to which of those you choose (or happen to get in case of randomly drawn throwables).
If you're going to keep stuff in the inlay then I reckon ammo and special condition tokens are going to be the most used ones, along with minerals. Then damage cubes and weapon upgrade tokens. Pickup tokens and 'other' tokens is more during setup / choosing characters. If anything throwable specific tokens are the least used since you won't get new throwables that often during play.
Single space cave tiles are also of course used a lot, so could have those close at hand.
is there a LFG channel for the board game?
You're in it xD
I recommend announcing a day (or even two) ahead of time that you want to play, and using a timestamp generator so people can keep track of when it is; https://r.3v.fi/discord-timestamps/
guys elo
im new into board game
me with my homie got 2 questions
- Engi turret deal smth? if yes so what it is dmging? rocket gun profile?
2.How we choose where to place minerals?
- Green bullet die, range 3. When creatures spawn or activate within range, or move into its range. Once per phase, per creature.
- Randomly. You can use the black dice bag or just shake minerals in your hand and decide which location to put a mineral into, before looking at it.
turret has infinite ammo?
and once per phase, per creature, that means that it can shoot non limited times, but only one shot per bug, only depends on how many bugs in hear radius?
Yes it has unlimited ammo. It has 1 health so if it's attacked it's destroyed and has to be deployed again.
Yes, it can fire as many times as necessary.
my thx)
i got more questions
Sry to bother you
"every enemy activating"
what activate actually mean? they run and if get to your radius they bite OR they only bite if they already in your radius? also about their spawn, they can spawn on exit token? Or only on near to it?
Activation happens when event card says creatures activate (they move or attack), or during swarms. Means the turret shoots when you select a creature to move or attack. So the turret shoots if the creature comes into range (started outside of range), starts to move inside the range (ended move inside the turret's range last time), if it spawns on the tunnel exit, or near it if the exit is occupied, or if it spawns due to a card near a dwarf or something.
And if the creature is in melee range it attacks at the same time as the sentry gun, so they can destroy eachother
Or if it's a range enemy, for that matter
no, i doesnt mean turret😄
I mean the enemies themselves
can enemies spawn on exit token or not
and if they activating, they can walk and attack at same their activation?
And about actions, can actions be the same? like 2 moves or 2 attacks?
And question about scout, he can shoot sniped bullets after move for free?
and can he move, create his torch and then shoot for free?
and does his torchgun counts as shooting action?
I think you need to read the rules at this point. Creature activation is a long list of rules about how they work. Scout's rules are listed in his description in the rulebook too.
tried but my mind went
🤯
Well I would really just be repeating what the rulebook says
well, ill try to reread it but more complex, mb will find some clarifications
mb suddenly missed smth
btw thx for help with turret!
Give it a few more reads, I don't mind answering if something isn't clear but that's so many questions that I'd really just be retyping the rules.
Hello! I'd like to add a custom soundboard to my DRG boardgame games, to shout some "Rock & Stone", creatures growl/effects, etc. Does anyone know if there is an archive somewhere with the sounds from DRG?
I knew someone must have done something similar. xD Thanks!
Know if it will one day be updated for expansions?
i think it will be but i dont remember
It said so, but one year ago. He might have dropped it. Asked him again on reddit.
this was his last post
Im back here, i reread rules but now in eng but not in my language and understood lots of things😅 . But still missing smth, you cant get you grenades from supply's? Right? And you cant get them in any other way? Only 1 grenade for whole map?
I read about grenades, and about supply's, and there was no words about it
Grenades are one use, then discarded. You can get a new one from an event card or a rock and stone card, or if you have the expansions there's some upgrades and the assignment reward track. But normally, it's rare to get new grenades
Ok, thx❤️
Which expansion added extra throwables? I have 10 of 16 throwables in my deck.
I can fish out the outliers, they're ever so slightly differently shaded, but now I need to find their origin
Honestly, I don't understand ehy only the R&S cards have an obvious corner tag to differentiate them
Biome Expansion
Oh wtf
I have 3 extra event cards and am missing 4 R&S cards
3 extra event cards sounds like the updated copies that came with 2nd ed upgrade kit.
Upgrade kit? Did it rebalance stuff or something?
No just changed the wording a bit on the cards.
None of the content lists are accurate for the mission cards either
All of them have more than the listed number, as well as in the mission books
This all made taking inventory of the sets much harder than I thought
I'm about to go prime some spore fungus minis
Wow, the Thunderhead, uh... kinda sucks, doesn't it
Doesn't, no, my most used Gunner weapon other than playtesting the Hurricane.
You're telling me I can choose to spend 1 move and 1 ammo to roll 1 explosive die, or spend 2 moves and 2 ammo to roll 2 explosive dice?
What a magnificent difference
2 actions and 1 ammo.
Big difference between 1 action and 1 ammo, resulting in 1 explosive die, and 2 actions 1 ammo resulting in 2 explosive dice, at the same time. Yes, you stand still an extra action and get an extra die. For the same ammo cost. It's one of the strongest options for damage per ammo, especially when it comes to how few enemies have explosive resistance.
Just Painted the bulk detonator yeah I'm not that good with colors so I just worked the way I have lol
Better with a splash of colour on the board rather than just a sea of grey. Look allright to me, could perhaps give the teeth and claws a couple dabs of white or light brown as a next step if you want to take it further, other than that as I said, better than grey 🙂
Are there any further missions for the base game caves beyond the core book?
There's the mission generator at the back of the book, you can use it to make as many missions as you like.
How about the other way
Mh, the second edition rulebook came with an extra r&s card and 3 event cards. Do i add these to the main game?
The intent was that they replace the existing cards of those types.
I see they have updated rules now
Are there any sleeves for the tiny cards?
44x63mm Sleeve Kings "Everdell" sleeves (8840) according to someone on BGG. Then again, any sleeve that size should likely fit
Yeah, looks like this is as close as to the measurements i got, thanks
@wary olive
I tested a few different sleeves marketed for this size card. Some were thicker plastic than others. One was just slightly too short that the card stuck out at the top. In my opinion, Sleeve Kings were better quality than Mayday Games Standards, even though the MG's fit nicer in the Space Rig Slots after cutting a mm off the top.
If you can imagine the plastic that was used for wrapping the board game box when you bought it, the MG Standards were rather similar to that thickness. Very flimsy and fragile. Sleeve Kings were just a little thicker and nicer.
What do they smell like? You could dip them in rotten fish for immersion
Haven't added scent capsules yet, putrified fish sounds like a good choice.
Motion sensor and pressurised air to have them puff out a bit of scent whenever you move something close to em
I guess the resin is still toxic enough
Sealed in by acrylics and varnish now though
How were they too big?
The width is a touch wide, therefore you cannot just cut them smaller
I think the height was also a little tall on them but I just cut them down with a hobby knife and a ruler as a guide
So if you were to put the cards with the altered sleeves in the slots now, they will either sit just a little crooked or get a little stuck by being too snug of a fit
The MG versions don't have that problem?
the MG Premiums were too short, the Standards just needed a trim at the top and then it fits right
However the standards are very thin they're very easy to crease or damage. It's almost like marketed inner sleeves, but I tried double sleeving with them and they don't work with what I've tested with
Is it the standard 7158 for the sleeves that fit into the slot after cutting?
I wonder if there exists a paintable scratch-n-sniff solution
Since you are talking about the cards: Any news about a replacement?
Nope, they're still looking into it
I'd imagine their main focus at this moment is finishing Valheim
Sleeves don't exist in europe lol
Maybe i'll just go sleeveless with the small cards for now
Hey, I have had trouble in the past when packing up the terrain tiles, any tips?
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3003461/deluxe-edition-packing-guide
I pack mine mostly like Robsbot there
Bro is like a mix of gunner and engineer
Also idk if it's been mentioned here yet, but I just noticed the Mission Terminal App has been updated will all the biomes
This might be old news I forget to update my apps
awesome
i didnt know that either
Hello everyone i got a question: does the Goo from above expansion ever come back in stock? i managed to snag everything else from the march restock but GFA is the last one im missing and couldnt ever see it sold from MOOD
Maybe, there's been no official statement wether or not it'll be back in stock, or when. It has previously been restocked but we have no info on when it'll be restocked next.
Right so there’s a chance. My fear was that it would never ever come back and I would have to resort to buying it from non-official sources
Where does one see updates on Mood DRG restocks? Insta?
Push comes to shove you can get the rules from Board Game Geek, which MOOD have uploaded themselves, and buy their STL files from MOOD and have the models printed. But yeah I'd sit tight for now, could also just email support@moodpublishing.com and ask them directly.
As far as I know they don't announce it. You'd have to keep checking their webstore.
Ah alright then I’ll try to be patient
I’m pretty happy about managing to get everything else aside from GFA this month
Thanks for the info!
Is this a trustworthy site to buy the game from? https://www.gamenerdz.com/deep-rock-galactic-the-board-game-2nd-edition-deluxe-preorder
maybe @royal nacelle knows
Never heard of them before, but googling a bit at least online sources seem to think it's a legit site. Fact that it says Preorder and Feb 21st seems a bit weird though, as does the price, but still, could well be legit.
$106 vs MOOD's $175, and free shipping.. Does sound a bit too good to be true, but could well be they bought copies and haven't been able to sell them, hence the sale.
This kinda ties with the question i asked before. This website lists every expansion as preorder, although some of them (GFA) haven't been aviable in a good while. I wanted to buy it from them but it doesnt look totally legit.
i'd rather wait and buy stuff from mood even if i have to spend more
rather getting baited with low prices and free shipping for a product that has very limited aviability
I think the preorder is delayed
Maybe that’s why it says February 21
“release date are subject to change without notice.”
It was released on Kickstarter though, ages ago, and MOOD are the ones doing reprints of the game. I've seen several sites that have preorders up, and just keep pushing the date forever, without actually ordering in more copies through MOOD.
Considering MOOD themselves have copies in stock I'm not sure how preordering from elsewhere would work, other than the second site waiting for a reprint that may or may not come. And then selling at such a discount would be odd for a newly printed product.
I really want the board game and it seems like a good deal should I order it from that website?
email or phone them and ask when they're actually getting the game in stock, if it really is a preorder.
And if they don't know, well then you'd just have to sit and wait anyway. So depends how soon you want to have the game.
Turns out the game is only $145 from MOOD, rather than the $175 I thought it was (just checked EU + exchange rates).
Alr I’ll email them
What’s gama expo
Sounds like they're going through multiple different middle hands to get the product. Guessing GAMA Expo might be the ones importing the products and then sending them on to distributors.
And the importer is dependant on when MOOD does reprints.
that + the price looks pretty weird
Does look bit weird to have 30% off on a preorder. Price would be similar to the bulk orders from the original Kickstarter I reckon.
@proven saffron you could use the GameNerdz 'set release day notification' thing, or just preorder (assuming you're not charged until it ships).. does mean waiting though, compared to paying $40 extra and getting it from MOOD straight away.
Alright thanks
Just a quick plug in case anybody hasn't seen it yet. 😁
I've got a random mission generator app for free through google play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirsamson.drgmissionterminal
I tried it for a bit, got some spicy layouts, double nexus breeder, even started with menaces on the board in one mission. Love it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah... sometimes it builds some wacky stuff 😅
Yep some of the mission specific events also had me going "ooh extra spicy!"
Really great for easy custom missions, very well done.
Also sent you a private message, don't miss it like last time 😛
Rule question, how do you pick up non-pickaxe pick-ups, like apoca bloom?
Have to dance on the tile
Yep, just step on 'em 💪
Thanks!
Can bugs walk on a minehead? For aquarks missions.
And does minehead block view?
(yeah, I'm playing one right now)
Bugs can walk on it, doesn't block line of sight.
Drop shield on the flare location, pop the exploder, bob's your uncle
It wasn't his turn yet. :P Throw a plama grenade, blew everything up.
How long does the driller's flaming ground last?
until his next turn
Ok
Takes a while to get used to the pace of the game, knowing when to speed up and when you have the time to chill, like skipping certain minerals or cave sections, which enemies to focus on, and so on.
Thanks a lot, I am gonna put everything like this next time I play
I need to learn how to paint minis so I can paint my dwarves and bugs
"Veteran" difficulty really means veteran, eh @tame jungle ?
Need to print some more goo tokens
Seems like a sticky situation! 😆
can we find the board game in french ? ;-;
You can find rulebooks in other languages on BGG
just the rulebooks ?
So far just the rulebooks and mission books on pdf
The game itself is only made in english, unfortunately
Not a physical copy no, but if you email support@moodpublishing.com they can send you french versions of all the cards and boards as well as the rulebook/mission book you can find on BGG.
might it be a saturday today? i know what that means https://www.twitch.tv/dreffbuilder
hello i'm looking to sell my drg board game so if someone is interested please dm me. the price can also be a bit lower
I've seen a few people asking for Goo from Above at least, if you'd be willing to sell it separately?
sure but i'm just selling it because i need 65 euro and i think 65 euro is too high for just goo from above
@plush surge poke
Uhhh I just need the GFA expansion though
Thanks for the ping
Can I DM you?
I've been tempted to get a second core box for extra cave tiles and cards
If they’re willing to split, I’ll get the GFA immediately
sure
Would so appreciate Mood Publishing kept producing all them DRG stuff. I vas THIS close to order double up on all before yuletider 2024, but had no spare money... obhoy, the REGRET!
@proven saffron might be interested in the core game box?
Last I heard they were looking to resupply during March (they're producing the Valheim board game now so probably getting copies made for DRG at the same time)
I’d rather have the 2nd edition
I’ll probably order it off of gamenerdz
is it ok to dm?
well they said they'd rather buy the 2nd ed so bit futile I think
no i mean you
ah sure
I've actually got an additional GFA box I ordered accidentally as an extra, I'm in Europe however so mailing it across the sea might be a bit of a expensive endeavor
1st or 2nd ed?
The stat card from 1st ed might be worth the cost xD
Yeah but the 2nd ed GfA box doesn't have the stat card, so you don't get the full rules unless you go online to grab em.
MOOD are still looking into that, reckon we'll get a 3rd ed GfA next time around
Ah right, yeah i grabbed the full rules myself
can anyone tell me if the board game is worth it for only 2 players, or should we wait until we can play with 3-4?
I've mostly even been playing solo, and think it's certainly worth it if you enjoy the miniatures (painting etc). For 2 players, definitely, know plenty of people who mainly play with their partner or a friend.
@fiery shuttleyou could scroll up a bit here and message kay, discuss grabbing their deluxe edition.
no worries. i have the box from the kickstarter campaign. just have never gotten around to playing it for a few years (to my shame)
ah, well if you have someone to play with give it a whirl.
Yeah I mostly play with my dad, it's a lot of fun
Привет, есть желающие сыграть в DRG в Tabletop Simulator? Можете писать в ЛС, договоримся о времени игры
Your collectors sticker looks different. Is that also a 24hr?
Hello, I want to sleeve my cards, which size should I take for DRG:BG?
no it's not but i backed the highest tier on kickstarter
63x88mm and 44x63mm.
And mission cards, yes
👍
Really any standard size will fit
Your selection for smaller sleeves are a bit limited
Interesting. Didn't know there was an exclusive sticker for that
There was one for Collector's edition (since it has the metal mug), and one for 24h (coin).
Now I'm getting fomo over a damn sticker 😂
And one for 24h collector's I suppose
Good thing we have two of them
same and same for the next statement too. Haven't even played a game of it yet... round the same time i got it, all my regular boardgame buddies left town for various reasons and we stopped having regular boardgame nights. Now i have two full rows of kickstarter disappointment on my shelves.
little child
Baby Dwarf do doo do do Baby Dwarf do doo do do
^ when you hear baby shark and you have small kids
👀
a shower thought i had: i could use the bulk minifig to behave like the unknown horrow for the haunted cave mission warning in my BG missions 🤔
Several people have figured the same xD better yet, have one printed in clear resin
Could do, or have R1. Make it auto-hit when it ends its move in range of a Dwarf, but no dice roll, just a flat 1pt damage.
1 dmg seems low considering the horror one-taps you
But R1 makes very much sense
It’s danger lies in area denial
And kiting capabilities
Like, you can feel the real danger in this week EDD in the videogame
Aquark + dread + haunted cave
Trying to deliver Aquarks and then fight a dread in a cramped space with the horror
Move and attack is strong though, plus unkillable. Once dwarves start going down the game gets way harder, so definitely shouldn't be a onehit. Especially if you do automatic damage rather than rolling there's little mitigation.
True
Also board game differs a lot in that if it zeroes in on a dwarf they might not be able to move in time if they just had their turn. So others would have to kite it, and you end up with a cat and mouse moreso than being able to go do the mission.
Give it a whirl whatever you decide though, does need playtesting in the end anyway
I’ll try with m1 r1 and move+act 1damage
Although m1 doesn’t make too much sense considering bulk is 2 hex
W birthday lads?
nice flare
Does anyone here still use tabletop simulator to play the board game? I have the original boardgame (was one of the 24hr coins backers), but my friends either aren't keen to play or there's too many of us when we get together.
Yep, I do. Also seen a few people occasionally setting up games here.
Oh nice! Good to know, I'll keep my eyes peeled to join sometime!
My steam profile is https://s.team/p/dhd-hdgn/btgfbbhk
Also..just realised that's a one time invite link...
This is my profile if anyone wants to online boardgame 🙂
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197999215177
I would certainly be up to play sometime. It's been a while since I've been busy at uni and I miss playing it!
Here is my steam profile link for anyone interested in exploring Hoxxes on TTS sometime: https://steamcommunity.com/id/effervescent_evil
Your Gobbos are looking awesome!
Thanks, I started pondering if I'll want to make all 12 of them.. xD
That'll be freaking cool! You'll have a full arsenal then!
Yeah they take a lot of effort though so we'll see. Still need to finish my Colonial Dwarves team as well, so might make a couple Dwarves first.
I can't seem to add you as friend, it's private. Maybe I need to wait till I'm at a pc rather than Steam mobile..
Apologies about that. Yeah, steam mobile can be temperamental sometimes xD I've added you :)
nearly done with the splodies
That a great blend on there main zit thing!
thank you, i kept over brushing the highlights then had to bring the orange back up.
They're not done?! They look pretty refined to me
nice work
Eventually have enough to make a custom 4v4 Dwarf vs Gobbo killteam game
Thanks! the base is still just primer but yeah the creatures are done as far as im concerned. i may gloss them up for added grossness.
I like the satin finish for the chitin. Maybe some gloss varnish on the pustules to really make them shine and look full of volatile gunk
Or the other way around. Honestly don't know what would look right
Question: which size of minisleeves youre using for the assignment cards? 44x63mm should be correct but i thought i'd ask here aswell
i bought 46x61 mini european sleeves
this is hpw they fit, cant remember why i didnt get 44x63
I went with Sleeve Kings Everdell sleeves (44x63) after testing other brands of the same size. I'd like to change them if I ever come across a better quality sleeve
I feel like you'd have to trim the top of most sleeves if you want them to fit in the Space Rig slots better
Are those Gamegenic Mattes? They look pretty close despite it being bigger measurements
yes gamegenic matte
Yeah 44x63 seem to fit way better. Thanks.
Oh God it's happening! Everybody stay calm!
im not even done with getting all the mini espansion and they hit me with this hahahaha
hopefully it'll be better than the in-game caretaker
BRO my storage can't handle this🤣
i'll be forced to print myself the all in 1-box organizer
@royal nacelle I blame your custom Nemesis model for being so good that it has convinced Mood to bring the rivals to the tabletop officially 😂
My wallet is getting vaporised yet again
I'll have to finish it so I can play with it early 😄
Right after I finally spent weeks printing an insert that holds it all together. Still I’m hyped, always down for more of this amazing game!!!
I got a whole transport bag for DRG thinking it would be enough but now it's already obsolete 😂
LOL
I just got everything to fit into 2 boxes
I never thought we'd get the Rivals in the Board Game, this is great news!
Rock and Stone brothers, lets show em why Rock is superior to Metal.
Next they’ll throw in events like rockpox and meteorites
I do kinda like how they started with the base game and are slowly adding in new elements of the game. Giving us time to figure things out before adding more
At this point we're gonna need custom carrying containers
Carrying? More like trolley.
How many kg can it be before the box needs wheels
Get you the death stranding backpack
Hello! I planned to do a board game tomorrow in a game bar, but sadly no one registered. Would anyone be interested for a game on Tabletop Simulator tomorrow at <t:1742065200:f>?
Wonder if we’re gonna get Sabotage missions with the new expansion
Wait, there's a new expansion cooking?
Yup
Oh dear.
And I still didn't receive my figures painted. xD Dang.
The board game already felt more than complete with the last expansions sets
So it's nice to see more is comming
And I still couldn't play any of it. :S
I mean I'm still looking for mates to play it IRL, but no one seems interested here.
The only other mission type left is the new one with drill
Deep Scan
Yeah
I could see it working
Then it’s situational things like meteorites and rockpox
Mood probably has to be creative fie the drillevator section, but the searching should work dine
I already need a separate table just for the miniatures. Lol
Well at this rate, I am going to need a Pallet Trolly with a DRG themed Pallet 🤣
Rolls up to game convention with a hand truck and it’s just Deep Rock
And maybe more boimes and the Twins as a boss fight
Speaking of which
I would like to see more content from the video game, but I don't want the board game to turn into a checklist
I don't want Mood to add everything from the video game
We have struggled with some of the missions with what we already have
My success rate in the board game is way different from the video game. Lol
You could put me down as a maybe, not 100% sure yet so don't need to save a spot for me if you find others
Noted, thanks!
Considering the tentacle bots and the big eye on the post, we most likely are getting the sabotage mission, it should work similar to the escort duty mission by drawing cards when doing the rival boss
Cool that they are expanding it more, but I hope they resolve the outstanding stuff with the last campaign (fixing card backs, the korlock cave and the issues with the rulebook), before the launch. I know they already said they are looking at it, but would be nice to have resolved before committing to backing the new one
also connecting the hacking pods (like when building pipes for morkite) to the power stations and then defending Hack-c
before the caretaker
Yeah. That should be a similar process
Saw them post in the comments section that they're planning an update next week about the cards, and mentioning they've found a solution
That sounds good! Fingers crossed
Is there a role I could ping to highlight the game I'm hosting tomorrow?
Nope
Me learning of a new DRG board game expansion.
Will there be any bonuses for contributing to the kickstarter?
Probably, if I had to hazard a guess a coin and some knickknack
Usually small things only
I like the new themes, although I hope for an equivalent to the omen modular tower. I think detachable modules with different abilities would be a cool boss event.
we are about to be so broke
And a month before my birthday no less
sigh Here goes my savings.

Embed fail /j
dont tell me theres 2
i am not buying another two expansions
my table gets full enough already
i really hope the rivals is a mini expansion
or the other one is
I'm just curious what the second expansion could be. If one introduces Rival Tech
probably new biomes
or they could do something really wild and add the corespawn
which would be awesome
Maybe machine events?
they havent given any hint about the other expansion
but wouldnt machine events still be considered rival tech
like the omen tower
i think they will put all the robot stuff in one expansion and put new biomes and creatures in the other one
I'm just going to QQ for a moment here, and curse things for the expansions coming out.
The thing that's most crippling about it, is my absolute fomo when it comes to not being able to get anything later on from KS campaigns
that is all.
I have the coin, and the mug, and the deluxe everything from both ks campaigns so far
and damned if that email today didn't rile up some emotions
i'm going to have to see when it launches to see what's what with it.
I still haven't painted the minis, nor have I even had a single playthrough with either base game or any of the expacs
so to say i'm conflicted is an understatement
Rockpox if you ask me
A fair point. I've got a group of friends that like the game so it's more encouraging for me to get it.
See I was thinking also but I wonder what they could do for it
rockpox cleanup, corruptor.. prohibiting spaces where dwarves can stand (or at least have negative effects) would be an interesting mechanic
Some extra rockpox enemies could be interesting, if only to set them slightly apart from regular enemies
who knows, rockpox could well be tied together with deep scan
I had a look at the enemies in the game and there aren't that many that aren't in the board game (not including seasonal)
And most are too similar to what we already have
Beauty of the board game is they can do their own, as in rockpox enemies could stand out if they want them to. Remember for example that the Stingtail was originally made for the board game
The rammer is something we don't have in the video game
do we even need more bugs? the beastiary card pile is pretty thick already
Interesting I thought the Stingtail was in the video game before the kickstarter
it was
It was due to how things were released, but it was conceived for the board game.
a little glyphid running on a ball of crap sounds like a fun idea
Makes sense why they look so different
I think the board game version looks better imo
I didn't realize the video game one has tiny grabby arms near its mouth, until I had a closer look at its model when doing some stuff.
Makes more sense also. Where even is the mouth with all those tusks?
oh absolutely. I modelled my handbuilt one after a picture of it, before we got a proper look xD
in the middle of them..
I mean for the video game one
Ooohh I see it now
Do I remember wrong?
Stingtail, for what it's worth, is listed under "spider - stinger"
I wonder if the board game Stingtail got stuck in nerf hell like in the video game
cough
Hey, might get the fixed cards that everyone nagged about 😄
I feel two ways about a "solution" and how people might get their hopes up xD
Gut feeling at best you'll have to wait until the next expansions ship.
they will probably give you the card corrections if you buy the new expansions
I hope they don't release a 3rd edition to everything
Why would a 3rd ed release be more profitable than just reprinting 2nd ed? Surely people who have 2nd ed stuff aren't going to get 3rd ed just because some minute detail changed.
... ummm 👉👈
3rd ed goo from above.. now with both the stat card AND creature cards.. which we have from 1st and 2nd ed...
_>
What can I say? I like the number 3 on my boxes
Jokes asside it makes sense they won't
Well that said if we're being pedantic it's only 2nd ed for some stuff 😛
The only reason they would is if there's any more revision to spelling or wording on the cards or rulebooks
Example could be for the detonator, where they didn't add that creatures activate on the swarm card
Yeah. But, as I said, pedantically, that'd be 2nd ed for the bulk det 😄
I'd say it's fair (but not necessarily something I forcefully expect) that they fix a buncha things for anyone that buys the latest expansions. Just don't think it's really fair to expect them to fix every single detail ad nauseam
They're only human
I think it’s fair to expect them to fix most of the errors - this is a premium product. Some random typos are OK, but this is beyond that
What I meant with "ad nauseam" is that you're somehow guaranteed a perfect product. If they do their best to fix something, but it somehow falls short, well they tried. Rather than you having 10 different Korlok tiles until you're happy.
Sadly it's something that definitely should've been caught in QA, same with the card backs, long before it become an issue.
New cards, and Korlok tiles, WHEN a new game is released, would be fair. Not sure of rulebooks when they provide digital versions, but .. sure, could go that far too.
But that's my personal view.
Sure, there has to be a limit, and it doesn’t need to be perfect, but I don’t think we are close to that. There have been no revised backs sent out at all, and they might not even be fixing the parts of the mission rulebook where the set up is just totally wrong
And yeah, I don’t mind waiting for them to send out fixes at the same time as the new game so they can hit it all in one print run. But shouldn’t be contingent on buying the new expansion
I wouldn't expect a new mission book since that's not crucial to play, you can "fix" that on your own, compared to cards that clearly show on their back what you're about to draw next.
And I didn't say necessarily buying the new expansions, but WHEN it's released, as such that you can get it when stuff is being printed, rather than them printing stuff at extra cost
ie having to wait
We'll see as they said next week they're planning on releasing an update, may well be they'll say they'll send something as they're printing new stuff
Waiting is fine with me, part of the Kickstarter experience haha
Because at least now it's coinciding with a planned release of new expansions
Just saying it could be fair to wait until those, to get fixed stuff. Not saying it's quick nor easy nor acceptable.. just... well, reality.
If the fixes are good and free, waiting is fine
I think what feeds into me wanting them to address this is that the original game felt like a good deal, but the expansions felt a bit expensive, so them having quality control problems on top of that was disappointing. But I think it’s best to give the benefit of the doubt and assume they are doing their best. Let’s see next week! Also very curious how they expand the game further as it felt pretty complete already
In hindsight I think the original game was "too good" of a deal, not only in quality but the bundles etc. That, plus slap on covid and inflation, expansions hit at a weird time.
I forgot about the klorok tile being a serious issue. It's not even as terrible as how some make it out to be
Some don't see the difference, some don't care because they like it being distinct since you can see Korlok vines before seeing the thing in the video game... but yeah, if you really want it as a hidden cave tile, it should be the same colour.
There are mechanical fixes like rolling a dice or something , but you lose the great moment of physically flipping the board piece and finding a horrifying threat
And the game generally leans into the physical tactile side
hence added horrifying moment of my fix, picking a distinct default tile to replace.. that split second of thinking it's just three grunts, only realize you promised yourself that's the Korlok tile..
That is probably the best fix yeah
Easiest at least, doesn't take into account statistics
Any layer separation? Any warping?
not really
the truth is, every tile is a slightly different colour
which isnt great
but it also means you cant memorize the tiles
so it still gets the job done fine
They said that? Where?
expansions kickstarter update comments section
Anyways, I’m going to wait until this expansions release before getting them. I feel like the previous ones were overpriced for what they were.
…especially the Bulk Detonator.
As for the card backs, I never noticed the difference with them. I did notice the difference with the Korlok Tyrant Weed. And honestly that led me to never using that tile and fighting the weed…so I do feel a bit burnt on that purchase.
Could well use the Tyrant weed as a secondary objective, or just adding it for difficulty.
Could also just be because I have no friends and have been playing the game by myself.
Well even then, I personally just decided to "fix" the Korlok issue myself. And I already even printed and sculpted a bulk detonator even before getting the expansions.
I know others have pointed out that I have a different view, but honestly, you're paying one hour's worth of work (average salary in western world anyway) for a hefty plastic model. I'm not sure what you're expecting, or at what cost. Personally I'm kinda tired of hearing the whinging about it.
Sorry to be harsh about it, but it's not that much to pay for a handful of a model, and if you don't like it don't buy it.
ikr my giant board game backpack cannot carry all the drg content; need to get some expensive custome inserts or something to maybe reduce box count x.x
They haven't even finished with Valheim yet
I was thinking some kind of season expansion, rockpox, rivals, and maybe deep scan?
Considering that there is no verticality in the board game I don’t see how they could implement deep scan. Rockpox would be fun with Harold roaming around and the dwarves foaming and vacuuming him up
How long did it take for expansions from kickstarter start to release?
And also at space rig and biome annoucment, were karlok and bulk also announced or did they comes later?
I got space rig, biome, karlok, and bulk all in one kickstarter, so they were announced at the same time
first round I got base game and goo from above
Here's a discussion about this a bit ago (with regards to deep scan, namely the drillevator): #drg-board-game message
I just checked, and for me (Netherlands), the expansions arrived at my doorstep exactly one year after the KS launch. (Sept 23-sept 24).
The 2nd edition base game arrived a bit earlier, in June 24.
The korlok and bulk came with the expansions as well, and were announced at the same time.
From past experiences, MOOD aims for fulfilment of their projects in about a year iirc.
So they have Valheim now, which should be by October 2025 this year, then there's the Goat Simulator card game (not sure how long that would take but it seems much smaller than Valheim/DRG etc. projects imho) and then there is the Rivals and Horrors of Hoxxes expansions. So, a bit of a list of projects ongoing and in the future rn xD
It wouldn't be a stretch to say that we might not get the two major expansion until at least late 2026/early 2027.
At any rate, we'd better wait and see. I'm so excited ngl xD
Quite a commosion happening over there XD
how could they do this
Should it be to bubbly?
Hey all, I’m finally getting around opening this beauty and have a quick question. I’ve got the first version of the base game and first expansions (from first kickstarter) as well as the second set of all expansions from the most recent kickstarter. Can I use the second edition of the rulebook even though I have the first edition of the game?
mine is
yes, believe it just has some better wording and updated interactions
Thank you, wasn’t sure if they play differently
Honestly, this kickstarter better have some kind of storage solution
Would be a waste for them to make a storage solution unless it's some ultimate future-proofed version. Else they'd have to keep making storage solutions each expansion.
i just hope they stop with this upcoming one
i love them dearly
but shipping costs are killing me.
Yeah bit rough when local retailers don't stock everything
Sorry Johnno, in the end I managed to have friends play the game with me this afternoon. :P
All good, hope you guys had fun
We had. Started with a novice to take the thing in hand, then veteran which we won 2 threat before the end. Quite fun.
Nearly had to Satchel myself.
Damnit another expansion??? I gotta catch up on my painting
Honestly I don't know if I will get the new ones, just because I so rarely get to get a game group together. I've played it like 6 times total? I haven't played any of the new mission types let alone the deep dives...
yeah same boat tbh haven't even touched the space rig and biom expansion yet and only on mission 5 of the base game
And it's not that it's not an excellent game either! I just don't have friends with enough free time anymore 😭
Not in person ones at least
im in the same exact boat. never painted minis before and now i have a backlog to paint and have only played the game like 10 times lol. really love it as a hobby and social thing but damn its tricky to find the time and people with how complex it can get.
I just play with myself.
tmi
I mean, it’s why the game has BOSCO as a mechanic in the rulebook.
i did do a mission by myself it it was way more entertaining than i thought it would be
i also wasnt worried about anyone getting bored
i will have to try it again
There was an app on Android that generated random missions and board layouts for the game.
But almost a week ago, Google took it down for impersonation.
was there any update on the rumor they'll be restocking the previous expansions with this expansion or in anticipation for Valheim's launch?
In the last kickstarter with the 2 major expansions they restocked the Goo From Above expansion so I’m expecting they’ll do the same
Literally made a kickstarter account just to follow the new kickstarter I’m so hyped for rival tech stuff
Even if I can only afford one (which is likely) I’m definitely buying the rival tech one over the horrors of hoxxes
I was messaging mood support and there appears to be a new shipment of the expansions arriving sometime in april, atleast for europe
genuinely no idea where to put more expansions
bottom left is reserved for Nemesis Retaliation
top right Sniper Elite
Guess you’re picking up one of those all in one box inserts eh
probably, but its not exactly going to be easier to transport
tbf i've seen some etsy things where they made like printed containers to store everything decently so im probably gunna do that
also thanks for tha answer all :P
Mine is even more bubbly im pretty sure
How can we be so sure that there will be another one soon?
Together with my dad i have done the entire base mission book and done a bunch of mission that we thought looked fun out of the expansions. Also did some fun expansion missions while playing the space rig campaign
MOOD teased it on Facebook
Greetings, Miners! ⛏️
We’re thrilled to unveil new expansions for Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game, bringing fresh challenges, deadly new threats, and even greater rewards for those brave enough to fight the rival company.
Go to the Notify Me page to be the first to know when the campaign launches. Link in bio.
HYPED
rivals visible
"horrors of Hoxxes" is that the name for the new biomes maybe?
no clue, rivals is obvious but horrors of hoxxes could be anything
the video game update of the same name added a lot of enemies that are already in the board game one way or another
In case this hasn't been posted yet, here's the Kickstarter page for Rivals and Horrors of Hoxxes: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/moodpublishing/deep-rock-galactic-rivals-and-horrors-of-hoxxes
Man it's already a whole mission to try and bring the board game to gamenight as is 😭
Get the Deluxe Travel Version
At this point it's easier to pack my pc for tts
Someone know what is this material coat called?
Also does somebody knows how can I get this kind od cardboard?
Google wildly for online printing services.
I think the game has quite a bit of variety with biomes and space rig, I’m not sure I need more
But damn I want more DRG minis
I can recommend getting a 3d printer and learning how to make them yourself 😉
I can not jump into another expensive hobby
I have an extra set of plastic tokens for the Expansions (though the collector versions had cardboard tokens), does anyone want to get them? Giving them away.
I gladly take em, they always lacking when I play
Are you in europe? I'd love to have them
I'm in EU yeah.
Eu here too, what country you are?
France.
Well if you want to help with expedition fees, I'm not against it. =p
But going to Rakso then.
I sent you a DM already. :p
God dammit I got here too early Îm in France too so if the other guy changed his mind îll gladly take them
He didn't, sorry. :P
does anyone know the cheapest place to buy the board game from
because its not on amazon
wait are you supposed to 3d print the models urself
I saw that stl files were included, does that mean I can chose to 3d models and get it for cheaper?
only for the miniatures
you still need to buy the actual game
what's ur pfp
pretty random question but its from Underdogs VR
very good game
directly from mood publishing
or used
You're not "supposed to" to only print the miniatures, but if you buy the Standard edition with the cardboard standees and then print the miniatures it could be a bit cheaper, depending on your access to 3d printing. You'd be putting in time and effort rather than the extra bit of money.
However since the expansions all have miniatures you can't get them cheaper, at best you could forego buying the mini expansions (Goo from Above, Bulk Detonator, Korlok) and print their miniatures instead.
https://www.gamenerdz.com/deep-rock-galactic-the-board-game-2nd-edition-deluxe-preorder it’s cheap on this site but idk if it’s legit or when it would come
I think they have delayed the release on their website
I was thinking maybe rockpox and corespawn?
We nearly have all the enemies of the videogame, and adding the missing ones wouldnt really be anything new
but the expansions are so huge, I’m not sure
septic spreader and acid spitter for example
I am ordering them as soon as possible haha, love the board game
yeah there is tons of enemy variety already
maybe new dreadnoughts, but i doubt it
I fear adding more mechanical depth might just slow the game down
and more enemy/terrain variety isn’t really necessary
we will see
I have a completionist urge and I like to paint, it will be hard to resist
instead of just enemies that are pretty similar to what we have
Im gonna start painting soon but school is keeping me busy...
Those look very good
I really need to know more, at the very least I’ll get the goo from above expansion if that is available through the kickstarter
Goo from above is a fun expansion
I have all the expansions (took me a lot of effort to find all of them)
how would you rate each?
goo from above looks good with two important enemy types from the game
bulk detonator is too expensive for me for one enemy type
tyrant-weed has printing issues I’ve heard, which kinda defeats the point of the randomized tiles
I think you summarized it pretty accurately there.
I really like the bulk det tho, while it is on the expensive side, it adds one more of those "oh shit" enemies.
The Tyrant Weed is also really awesome, but as you said, has some coloration issues.
Still plenty of ways to use the Korlok, even if you don't want to do any of the simple fixes of being able to deploy it.
I've had my struggles with the Goo Bomber and Menace, but Bulk Detonator is a far more thrilling "uh oh" encounter.
Most statistically accurate way I've found without extra dice or anything is to designate one of the base hidden caves, if you flip it over then roll a creature die, if you roll a blank leave the base cave, if you roll anything else replace it with the Korlok. 10.4% chance of a Korlok (instead of the 11.1% 1 in 9 would give). Does lower the chances for the designated base cave, but eh. Pick one you don't like (or better yet randomize it every mission).
I’ll be poor
I really hope the New expansions bring more event card because with all these new enemies type I hope we can see them not only in swarms
you can see a small difference in color on the back of the tile. Just shuffle them and let someone pick them with their eyes closed and its fine
Also new dreadnough would be really cool but I don’t think it will happen
It is a beautiful miniature
but yeah you dont see it often
Goo from above i see nearly every mission because it has event cards too
so i'd say goo from above 1st, then bulk (korlok doesnt walk so you can avoid it if needed), then korlok
they are all fun
but that is the order i would put them in
With event cards though you'd run the risk of upsetting the balance by getting too many swarm threat ones, or not enough. I reckon having the creatures on the board at start, from swarm cards, or from mission specific events is fine.
who knows, very excited about the horros of hoxxes expansion
I’ll definitely get Goo in the KS then and maybe a big box if they make interesting additions
If they have a Nemesis model its over for my wallet
oh that would be sick
i agree
what if horrors of hoxxes adds more event cards?
i dont think the expansions have added new event cards yet
yeah thats such an oversight tbh
it should add new cards like "stabber vine attack" or something
I'd kind of prefer if these expansions actually kept models a bit more limited so they can keep the price and size down. A couple of robots would be nice though
They are major expansions, so I’d be surprised if they weren’t as big as biomes or space Rig
DRG is easily the most expensive board game I own
its a bit of a bummer since I’m certain the board game would have more fans if it was just a bit less expensive
100€ for an expansion is pretty wild as far as boardgame pricing goes
We very likely get at least 6 rival enemies making it in (Shredder, Repulsion Turret, Robotic Appendage, Burst Turret, Patrol Bot, and of course the Caretaker) plus the miniatures for the 2 hacking stations and Hack-C
So yeah it's gonna be expensive
For other enemies I can see BET-C and the Huuli Hoarder making it in a special events, and the Twins as a second Dreadnought boss fight
Hey I wanted to ask if anyone had any recommendations, currently one of the biggest struggles I have is packing and unpacking the game. I thought that maybe I could buy some kind of large case for easier storage. Does anyone have any recommendations? is this something other people have done?
You're shortly going to need a bigger box.. But yeah I've seen some, MrSevenGold has a plastic bin that perfectly fits everything (until we get the new expansions);
#drg-board-game message
not quite what I was thinking since my issue is unpacking all the boxes and putting them back together again, but I could just use plastic bins I suppose. trying to minimize the space it takes up so I don't need a seperate table just for the boxes lol
I've seen people use soft inserts for the miniatures as well, so could get those and a regular bag or miniatures bag
well some have made custom 3d printed inserts that hold the miniatures more snugly, so that you can fit the expansions together as well. It really depends on what exactly you're having trouble with and what type of solution you want.
Do you want to pay €50, 100, 150 for ease of access, or just get a cardboard box and stick some dividers in. shrug
I'll think it over a bit more, I don't mind paying since I really like the game and it would be worth it for me, but yeah I just wanted to see what some other people's solutions are
I've personally been doing fine so far with what we had, mostly because I didn't have to move all the stuff, except from one room to the next
but it's getting to the point there are way too much stuff laying around that you might need during a game that just keeping everything in the boxes is no longer gonna be possible
Even with the base game I thought you kinda need a side table, just the normal stuff takes up the kitchen table.
you definitely need a side table, yeah
but now ? that's not gonna work
I'm not gonna get an extra table just for that
I set up the table and the put stuff back in the other room. Don't mind the break of having to get up to get something the few times it happens. I normally don't even bring all the creatures to the table, so if I need that second praetorian or spitballer it's walkies time.
does anyone want to buy my drg board game? ($70 because i can't find anyone who want to buy it lol)
Do you think mood would provide me with exact drilldozer board dimensions they use to cut it if I ask them for it? Im planning on making 2 layered drill board
Only one way to find out
go for it
i hope they do real stretch goals for the new expansions
not sure if i liked the freebie thing
Probably will. Last time they reached 800% of the goal
Both KS campaigns had real stretch goals if I remember correctly.
The expansions had freebies in addition to those.
So I think it's safe to say we'll get stretch goals again.
I have the 3D printed insert. Can fit all of the miniatures in one box. I decided to keep the books, player boards, and space rig board in a separate box. Will have to see what the expansion gives me. And yeah table space is a thing. 3 of us can play pretty well on my dining table and the pieces all stay on the 4th side
Heaven help me if we have a 4 player game
Unless it’s mission specific (like the dreadnaught) anything can spawn at anytime, so I need everything on hand
Hell yeah. I'm damn proud of the color matching on the Heartstone
Turbo Dork:Miami Sunset, with Warpaint Fanatic: gemstone red highlights, followed by titanium white in the creases with Warpaint Fanatic Effects: radiation glow applied liberally over it.
Taking notes 📝
The Miami Sunset is this cool red/purple colorshift that you have to put like 5 coats over a black primer but even by itself its so cool
I know Im 2 days late, but yeah, in my case at least you can easily spot it amongst other random tiles
oh wow! New expansions huh? Im thrilled
I need to know more
🎶 Tell me more, tell me more 🎵
really cool
gonna have to buy some bronze coloured paint for the new expansion
just ordered a bunch of army painter speedpaints and a white primer
can't wait to paint this game
That is beautiful
- When do you think kickstarter will start?
- How much do you think will mą n expansion cost?
im guessing the kickstarter will start in the summer
and i have no idea about the price but it will probably be cheaper than the biome and space rig expansions
what makes you think it will be cheaper?
Given their past track record, they generally notify/make an announcement about 2 weeks before they launch the campaign
could be longer, but i'm guessing it's coming early april
i dont think theres much content left to add
we already have the assignment board thing and all the biomes
honestly if we have more biome board pieces i might actually lose my mind
theres already a lot of them
if people want to buy more enemy types, either for enemy variety or minis, they will keep selling them
im curious what the horrors of hoxxes thing will be
Unknown Horror Ghost that follows you around
sold in an expansion box with nothing in it
The previous expansions got teased on Sep 9th. 11 days later, the kickstarter was announced to be opened on the 28th.
But that could mean absolutely nothing for this one.
There's an unlimited amount of content to add considering we've gotten custom missions and custom enemies (and weapons, grenades, etc). The board game is not limited to only having what's in the video game.
We also don't have all the biomes, they could well add Hollow Bough or Radioactive Exclusion Zone with interesting mechanics.
And if you think they won't add that much, wouldn't that contradict that they'll wait for summer to start the Kickstarter? Why tease the Kickstarter and wait months when adding little.
I think they can add lots of stuff. Would be interesting to see new primary weapons for example. And they left like 5 biomes. I bet they can even make another set, one for each season, like rockplox + another random expansion.
I for one would even be interested in a small expansion that has more events. I feel after multiple playthroughs that more variety in event cards would be nice.
Having extras to build your own deck with would be nice yeah, swap out ones you don't like (or there are multiple of), and put in some others.
Yeah that would be neat, I believe it's a good idea for an expansion like goo from above price, and having more variety is nice. At least for me it's one thing that I would like them to improve upon.
I'm calling it now. Rival Nemesis will be under a mini expansion
Like how it was introduced the season after the caretaker
Give people a reason to call it a DLC I suppose.
Nemesis will probably be the bulk detonator of the new expansions yeah
isnt the point of the Nemesis to mimic dwarves? how would it do that in the board game
No? That's just audio. It has no effect in the video game.
but lore-wise
But even lorewise it doesn't work well enough to fool Dwarves.
hmm true
would be interesting to have an enemy that grabs the dwarf until someone shoots its weak point
like a super buff stingtail
So like the Stingtail then..
And it'd have to be weak enough that BOSCO can deal with it.
oh i think this expansion could also introduce those teleporting bombs that the caretaker and nemesis use
random tile takes damage every turn
And how would you randomize tiles?
could be in relation to the boss
lets assume the caretaker is like the ommoran heartstone where you draw a card every turn
at the bottom of each card it could say "the tile 2 spaces away from the open eye takes one explosive dice damage" or something
an extra thing in every card
so unlucky dwarves/bugs take damage
or just make it that every dwarf rolls a creature die and takes damage on an '!'
And to make it less difficult you can choose to throw yourself to the ground before you roll a die
yeah that makes a lot more sense actually
predicting a bad dice roll and throwing yourself would be a really cool mechanic
I assume Rivals will focus on Robot Enemies and the Caretaker mission type
and Horrors will be biomes and or the more exotic enemies we've yet to see in the boardgame
things like the scale-bramble, trawler, stingtail, septic spreader
so in a way Horrors might be equivelant to the Biome Expansion, and Rivals equivelant to the Spacerig expansion
of course Im just blind guessing here
scale-bramble would be very fun
Not only does the board game already have the Stingtail, but it was a board game original that GSG loved and decided to put in the video game.
no rammer
GSG deemed the Rammer to be too similar to the Qronar Shellback
it would be cool if they went wild with horrors of hoxxes and just create a full set of new enemies
I want to see a septic spitter though
honestly septic spitter or nemesis would be buys for me
Septic spreader as area deniers would be great
Like they attack even if we are out of their range
I think goo sacks would be neat
What'd be the point of them having a range then? xD
I despise them due to people spamming voicelines, so no 😦
So they put the goo everywhere
I wanna physically point at a little goo sac and scream
But them gooing you from across the map would kinda break things
Surely they can have a range and shoot at you like everything else.
Sounds very similar to the goo bomber but the puddles are harmful
Yup
I feel like it being able to damage you from dice and then surround you with damaging puddles can be a bit op
Thr puddles would need a lifetime
Would like to see their take on the model though
New Expansion: Drillevator, with magnetic glyphid minis and a crank to lower the elevator down a large tube

yeah the septic spreader is an awesome looking enemy and I’d have to purchase just for that
Got me wondering what its firing animation looks like, never actually seen it up close. Opened it in Blender and it just arches it back really, makes me think those little nodules on its back are the firing ports. (oops missed to hit reply to @lime jungle 's message)
So arched back with acid globs coming out would be a neat model, so it's shooting like the Goo Bomber but horizontal/vertical
I love goo
Also that deep glowing red would look great on a table
does anyone have experience with painting the minis and putting them back in the game box?
Some of those insert spots are very tight and will rub off the paint, not sure if even varnish is enough to stop that
Some have said it isn't, then again depends what varnish you use I'm sure. Some have taken to cutting away parts of their inserts, so create relief for the minis. You can also push in the little nubs that hold the minis in place.
I'd probably opt for soft custom inserts if I were to pack mine up in the box (I instead have them on display on my shelf)
Once you have the crystals connected you flip over the drill tile. Which then takes you to the geode tile. Collecting the seeds triggers endgame and you use the jet boots to fly to the drop pod
or it could use a certain component like "altitude tracker" which has swarm icons on it, instead of swarm threat markers
That could work. Similar to the phases of the heart stone
yeah
After each phase you check to see if the drill needs fixing
Yeah
"dense rock! altitude meter doesnt go down for 1 turn"
Would be its own deck. Like the heart stone
yeah
Instead of drawing event cards, you start drawing drill cards
yeah
MOOD has confirmed they can change the cards of the 1st edition to match the backs of the latest edition
They sent an email to anyone who made a claim about it
If you send an email to support maybe they can still help
They just need a few details for shipping
Maybe, but thinking back I recall opening up the claims page, and couldn't in good conscience explain why I'd have an issue with the cards as they were. At best I would do so to get extra cards to pad my deck, but don't really think that's fair.
That's fair. It's really only for aesthetic purposes
The colour of the back is off too, so not only the missing rivets. I'm happy that they will fix it.
🥳
wait i dont think i got an email
i remember making a claim though
hmmm
Might be in your spam
not there either. ill probably send them an email
What enemies currently in the video game, but not yet in the Board Game do you guys think could make the cut for the new expansions?
I personally feel like maybe the Barrage Infector could be a solid candidate. As an AoE stationary enemy.
that would be sick, but also terrifying
Why not a mobile Barrage Infector, like the infamous mobile Spitballer?
If that ever becomes a thing, we might as well just abandon ship and move on to Hoxxes V
Im not buying the expansion if thats inside
Thanks, I hate it!
They gotta pay me to get that thing
haha for real
Beautiful
Beautifully disgusting you mean
Beautifully beautiful
beautifully cursed
why did you give it dwarf feet, why not just stumps XD
Put down the 3D blender and printer and back away slowly.
Number 15
It's a running joke (pun intended); #drg-board-game message
As I recall someone said how terrifying it'd be if spitballers could move, someone else photoshopped a spitballer with dwarf feet, and I had to double the number of feet.
No, I'm gonna blender even harder now :[
JOHNNO NO. Put it down!
do you can split damage of minigun to adjacent targets? or all three dices for one target?
You can assign dice to adjacent targets following the assigning hits rules.
thanks
If a weapon can only hit a single target it'll say so on the weapon.
The moment Johnno said "It's blendering time" and blendered all over those bugs
Johnno was supposed to destroy the Dark Blenderers, not join them!
Hiii, I just started learning the boardgame, and am yet to invite all my drg-loving friends to play! Is there any advice i should hear? And, having experience with too many computer/tabletop games that require mods/homebrew from the very start for the best experience due to poor balancing (bruh the videogame drg being an example with some its weapons, upgrades and the entire perk system), i'd like to know if there are any quick fixes or clarifications to the rules that I should hear about before I need to figure them out myself.
for me, one in particular comes to mind; on the start of Driller's turn, any Flame Tokens on the board are returned to Driller. This was accidentally left out of 2nd edition's rulebook and several people have asked for clarification on it before
thanks! Also, are flame tokens completely untraversable? Grappling hook mentions that it doesn't allow to move over them
And also I question whether scout can safely move over unsafe ground other than pits, such as ice, lava etc.
Think of it as a wall of flames
yep, cant move OR see overflames
nades and engi's grenade launcher i think still see through it, since they ignore most LOS blockers, but I would double check that
also yes
scout can ignore terrain effects like black ice, thick snow, lava river, the goo in fungus bogs
Although the 1st edition rulebook does say that dwarves suffer 1 damage if they move into one or more flame tokens on their turn
This was missed in the 2nd edition book
And it does say that it blocks creatures' los but doesn't mention dwarves. So a bit of a grey area
Honestly same
I just looked it up on BGG then
If you have the 2nd edition rules;
Driller's flame tokens are retrieved at the start of their turn, you can walk into flames as a Dwarf but take 1 damage and the flame is removed.
Sentry Gun fires when creatures move into its range, activate within its range, or spawn within its range (once per phase according to rules, FAQ states once per turn, personally I find per turn hard to keep track of at times so I go by phase).
Ziplines can be placed "at an angle" as long as it's clear that they lead from one starting tile to a destination tile.
Line of Sight rules mention that your LOS ends if it comes to a flame tile.
When grappling yes, but not when finishing their move on a tile.
Got it. Missed that page
forgot that part
Can I throw grenades on stalagmites?
Also, for tokens you flip that require mining, I think its possible to grab them from an adjacent space?
For tokens you flip that don‘t require mining, do you also grab them from adjacent spaces, or do you have to move onto their space?
Thanks! ... LOL I found first edition rulebook and it is so much more clear in several places, by using just couple more words. That's worse than d&d situation of "streamlining" the rules making them more confusing.
No, you can't collect them from adjacent space, you have to move onto them or through them if they are not mineable
yeah a bit weird how you can't press [E] to grab fossil from adjacent space, but can suck up all gold from a lootbug this way
Damn, I also like how 1st edition calles digging and rock cutting actions landscaping and interior design
Yep you can target any space in a cave, just not wall spaces.
