This is just one example of an overarching experience with the Playstation players, but just now I had a Dozer mission with one other random scout player. When it came to the defending part, he took 7/8 ammo pots to log grenades around with no reason. When I told him after that it might not be cool to do that, he basically said he didn't give a shit about etiquette. Not rock and stone at all. :c

I actually found the default kinda shitty, as enable precision aim is on by default and it makes the gyro barely noticable

once I disabled that setting I could actually get something useful out of gyro

but I understand the option being on by default so it doesn't throw people not used to gyro off too much, yet still lets them know it exists

definitely thankful you guys implemented it in the first place, it's super rare for non-switch games

I've forgotten the answer to this question, but: If you're carrying gold, nitra, etc. when you're in the drop pod during evac, are those added to the total tally on the results screen, or would you have to deposit them on the side of the drop pod before the mission ends?

You do get what you're carrying when you get into the drop pod, even if you don't turn it in. It's been a long time since I tested all of this, but I'm pretty sure that also extends to large chunks of minerals too. So, if you're carrying a chunk of Jadiz in your hands (i.e. not on the floor of the drop pod) when the mission ends, you get that as well (although I should probably retest this at some point, because it's been a while and I'm old and my memory ain't what it used to be, haha)

I was in a match today where I joined late and mined a bit of gold before evac, and forgot to deposit it, but the results screen did say I had mined that gold, so, I was curious if that counted, and thanks for clarifying that it does 👍

Right that, i just had that exact problem yesterday

On site refining we spent 40 minutes trying to touch the button to launch the rocket, just after those 40 minutes the refining went back to normal letting us walk over it like normal

It'd be interesting if they introduced more cross-class synergy, or bonuses that would benefit, say, having two of the same class on the field e.g. more than one Scout increases movement speed for the team, or more than one Gunner increases weapon damage for the team. It might be just me but id think its not much of an issue on console since both square and the right joystick are pressed by the right thumb, so you cant rock and stone and repair at the same time without weirdly gripping your controller anyways

OK I just had the most best and worst spawn of my life

1. Drop pod hits a prospector triggering the event
2. A gold bulk det appears out of thin air during fight with prospector.
3. A hoarder also gets triggers during the 5 minute onslaught.
4. After the bulk det exploded and prospector is taken care of, an error cube apparently was underneath the dropped when it landed.

Also the mission is solo on site refinery so Im currently making my inventory and painstakingly taking it to the refinery.

All in 10 minutes of mission time

random thought, but the rival tech weapon frameworks are some of the best and worst looking ones depending on the weapon.
the flamethrower, minigun, BRT7, Lok-1 or the GL are some examples where they framework is probably the best looking one.
the Warthog, M1000 or the Bulldog however are some where they framework adds too much bulk and looks really not good.
generally tho the rival tech is i think the best pack to buy, the frameworks and the colour skin for the weapons just looks really good on most of them

you don't want DRG day 1 releases IMO 😆 there's usually a good week or more of major bugfixes after it leaves experimental, PC steam folks get to help find the bugs

The Steam version has the ability to have slightly more complex cave generation than the console versions, so it's possible the caves are significantly different. That said, I've never been bothered to test between Steam and another version, so perhaps the caves will be similar.
That said, I have tested Xbox versus Microsoft Store Deep Dives. The caves are identical, but, depending on who is hosting (either the host is on Xbox or Microsoft Store on PC), the placement of minerals and objectives will be different. If I host on PC during one attempt the caves will be the same as if my friend on Xbox hosts the next attempt, but the Nitra and all the objectives will be in different locations (as expected if I host every attempt everything is in the same location as previous attempts).
This leads me to assume that while the missions will have the same primary and secondary objectives between versions, your experience from the Steam version of Deep Dive will not completely prepare you for the PlayStation version of the Deep Dive

Not sure if the devs will see this, but will the new AMD FidelityFX upscaling option be coming to consoles as well? Would love to use it to get more stable frames — the 120hz mode on PS5 is great but it can drop as low as the 40s. I believe it’s called a Data deposit, if you manage to successfully hack it, you’ll get a core at the end you can turn in for a big exp boost at the end of the mission.
As well as getting a free scrip for the pass

Also you’ll want to make sure the hack is consistently going until it’s done, cause the bugs won’t stop spawning

When I first played, I played 4 solo matches (a different class each) to get the feel for each class.

I also took the time to study the bugs. Gotta know the enemy to defeat the enemy, right?

Testing everything is an ok idea, Gotta learn the perks/upgrades and such eventually.

As a natural hoarder, I believe collecting all minerals is a good idea. Kinda hard to upgrade if you don’t have said materials ._.

It's more platform limitations than the engine. The engine is Unreal Engine 4, and there are games on UE4 that are cross-platform. But none of the platforms have cross-play built into their network or account systems. Since DRG is a peer-to-peer game, there's no servers, meaning the devs would have to build their own cross-platform networking solution.
Also, the Steam version would have to be altered to allow it to work with consoles, since currently the Steam game can support slightly more complex caver generation than the consoles (due to last gen hardware limitations).
Lastly, if DRG went cross-play, the devs would lose a valuable resource for development: Steam allow them to develop and test and patch rapidly compared to console development. If a bug is found in a new update, it can be patched and the patch can be delivered in as few as a couple of minutes (if it's an easy bug to find and fix) on Steam. That same fix would take hours to deliver on console due to the console makers requiring code certifications on every update. Basically, all updates would take longer to get out, and if there were some issues with an update those issues would take longer to fix.
These are the main reasons why cross-play is unlikely to be a thing. For a small dev team it would be a ton of work to make it happen; it would slow down new content and make new content more complicated to deliver. Never say never, but there are no plans for it at this time

Sony also seems to be changing their tune on opening up their ecosystem to PC, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that something eventually happens there, but it also probably won't be anytime soon if at all

The problem between cross-platform is usually consoles hardware and firmware makes coding have to be changed for the limitations plus you need special server stuff and a lot of technical stuff.

Plus it can make things run worse for both parties

special powder overclock on ps4 is fun

but like, actually fun oh God i love taking off from a place and land on the other, maybe using the grappling hook

although it completely kills the possibility of shooting your shotgun while flying with the hook

and will also kill you at times but that's irrelevant
