I think it's not meant for playstation players as it's difficult to point and click bug heads with a thumbstick

I'd rather use something more forgiving of missed weak points like the overclocked firing mechanism or the homebrew powder OCs

I don't use AISE but for general drg aiming, I'd rec learning to use the motion controls

it gives mouse level accuracy which is very appreciated when playing a fps on a pad

I think that some people either don’t know how to manage ammo or don’t notice in the spur of the moment. Idk, I’ve not seen a lotta people use pheromones in general so maybe people just don’t know how it works.

Breach cutter has very high dmg . It hits even if you don't hit weak spot ( as it can just go through enemies and hit weak points) . Has very few "bad OCs.

The best counter to this is the 50% less team dmg perk imo, the biggest red flag being if they're on driller and they're not promoted

It's tough to justify though, personally I've only ever dealt with a single player in nearly 200 hours who was intentionally team killing, I met them yesterday actually haha so I recommend if you're hosting and you see it just immediately kick them

Been queuing a lot more hazard 4/5 missions lately and even though the payout is ironically a lot worse on average compared to hazard 3 & the framerate is almost unplayable on PS4, the missions are so memorable and the players are gigachads, that is all

Did my first industrial sabotage on haz 5 tonight, 45 minutes for 15k xp but the amount of clutch plays and awesome teamwork was worth it

Personally I just stay at 3 now, even if 4 is also pretty manageable the times you do end up getting rng'd to oblivion feel quite bad and like Grample Gust has said the increase in pay off doesnt feel worth it, 25% increase for so much more and stronger swarms, more time trying to get nitra etc

At least for efficiency, fun wise I think 4 hits the spot, 5 just feels like a chore with all the bugs that are constantly spawning

a thing I've found about 3 is once you're used to blowing up swarms on 4/5, going back swarms on 3 is so unsatisfying (aka what I see every week when doing dd after having just finished edd)

the swarms are just so small feeling it's not very satisfying using all these good aoe weapons on them

on the recent double escort dd I brought disperser compound sludge for maximum swarm area denial, then once in mission I remembered it was haz3 and went oh, this was completely pointless, should've just brought vim

I still do 3 a decent bit if I'm just trying to get an assignment done quick with latejoins (2 or even 1 is fine for that), or when feeling lazy, but it's not as satisfying when actually wanting to play

Haz 3 is perfect for just wanted to go spelunking for xp and minerals, it's my preferred way to play mostly, but the combat in this game doesnt really shine until you hit haz 4 and up

My problem is 4 can often be a brutal step up, I'd like a middle ground difficulty that emphasizes using my full combat kit while also being able to explore the caves at a similar pace to haz 3

As far as I'm aware, there haven't been any patches, and I haven't seen too many folks here mentioning what you're experiencing. I don't believe they did anything. Have you tried fully shutting down and rebooting your console?

Yeah, I had this issue the entire time when I was playing drg, but also other games too. Its just not optimized for ps4. I switched to ps5, and everything runs smoother, transitions are faster, and the game as a whole is just more enjoyable. I can't really see it being anything other than just that @tardy apex

There's a recovery tool in one of the in-game menus that lets you recover from some forms of data loss but if your friend doesn't have backup on either a USB drive or the PS+ Save File Cloud, they may have to redo the missing progress from scratch if the backup tool doesn't recover it.

I've done it quite a lot, including rejoining deep dives I dc'd from on randos that didn't have their profile hidden

You can join friends by pressing the button to return to the menu. Going to the top bar and clicking on the friends icon. Then go to the friend you want to join and click on them, then where it say the game they are currently playing click on the game. Then it will show you how many players they are with and there will be a join option.
If there is no join option and when you click their active game it say „request to watch“ and doesn’t show you how many people are in the game then they have a setting turned on in their profile that might not allow you to join. And if you cannot see the game they are currently playing at all despite knowing they are playing drg, then they have another setting on that doesn’t allow you to see their game. In both previous scenarios you need them to send you an invite.

DRG is way better than other games in terms of toxicity levels tho. I used to play Dota 2 which is a surefire way to play with a toxic teammate in 1/5 matches.

Yes, you get Blank Cores in place of the others. You can stockpile the Blank Cores for when more Overclocks or Cosmetics come out, or you can use Blank Cores on Machine Events to get Mineral Cores. Mineral Cores give you 120 units of a mineral and cost 600 Credits to craft at the Forge

I love Azure weld but it seems to generate sometimes a lot more enemies. Like it’s one of those biomes that there’s either lot going on or very peaceful place. But one of my fav biomes.

My least favorite would be Glacial strata, because the snow often slows you down a lot and then ofc being frozen. Cave gen on morkite missions can be bad.

My overriding issue with the Azure Weld and to a lesser degree the Radioactive Exclusion Zone, is the chosen colour pallet and lighting scheme makes it damn near impossible to see certain things properly :(.

If it's too dark for you either play Scout or recruit one.

Dark caves are easy to overcome.
The Dense bio zone's cliffs that jutt outward take twice as many pancakes to traverse than other biomes. They eat Drillers fuel like nothing. And Gunner's zips are either too short to get anywhere useful or you can't get a good angle.

If I'm not playing Scout in Dense bio zone I'm miserable.

I run into this a lot. Just keep trying through invites or joining. If it doesn't work after 4 tries, restarting the game helps. Eventually it'll work, but getting there is a pain sometimes

Unions are a Steam-only "feature." Feature is in quotes, because Unions don't really do anything. There is no gameplay associated with them; they really only give people a few bonus credits and minerals about once a month or so. Non-Steam versions are not really missing anything

It does tho. You cannot enable 120 hz unless using performance mode but you can see the fps starts to dip with turns and swarms even in performance. It could use some fine tuning and I kinda get used to 120 fps in some other games. Also it shows up in the fps counter, it sometimes kinda bugs out as well.

I am playing on PS4, and I noticed even after the latest Patch, that Hooli Hoarders aren't scared anymore

The last 6 or so times I saw them I could just shoot them and the AI wouldn't make them Scream and try to escape

I don't know if Solo Play had anything to do with it, or if this is a known bug, but I am just glad for the free materials I got so far...

I started out just playing only scout

and driller can just make stairs wherever he wants to so your team can get around

I dont have much playtime under my belt yet, started playing frequently last week.

since I don’t have much knowledge on builds etc

@neon gorge not really, personally in my opinion the scouts weapons are made for dealing with high priority targets, I'm not saying a scout can't be good at crowd control, but it's harder for a scout then the other classes. Which made that haze PE with the other scout a living hell.

As a rank 178 greybeard, all are welcome, regardless of skill level (even if an unpromoted dwarf joins a Haz 4). The only time I ever kick is if they are actively trolling, or those rare times where I somehow get an unprompted dwarf in a dd lobby.

I played yesterday morkite mining mission and a host was Engineer with lvl 200+. He died all the time (12 times). Once when he pointed nitra for 30 lvl scout and he didn't come because he was far from him, Engi kicked him. Next he kicked Gunner because he didn't revive him and died too. After that I left a mission

Something I'd recommend to everyone for the promotions grind, is to rotate your Dwarves as much as you can, because, for me, I started out playing hard as Scout and hit gold before any of my other dwarves were even silver, and for the last few months I've hardly played Scout since the others were just playing catchup and I felt like I didn't want to deviate from the goal of going for the platinum, so, point being: rotate your Dwarves to avoid any burnout, but also because I didn't realize just how good Gunner, Engi, and Driller are 🤘

As for barrel hoop... you're gonna need some patience for that one 😅 but it's totally doable!

16 more promotions sounds like a lot, but some can go by quickly, especially if you're hitting double xp missions along the way. My routine for the most part has just been doing weekly assignments, deep dives, sometimes I wouldn't even do the elite deep dive, and maybe an hour here and there during the week to try out new cores and perk combinations, while also going for any seasonal challenges that I had.

Is the hurricane rocket system as good as the thunderhead?

Every weapon is subjective. The devs did a good job balancing things. Some people will swear by one weapon or another, but it comes down to what you enjoy using.
Some folks will switch weapons with specific builds for specific missions -- and I love that it's so easy to do -- but personally I tend to find a build I enjoy and stick with it, and since I found a setup I enjoy with the Hurricane I've simply wanted to stick with that. I enjoy all of the Gunner's primaries, and while this one or that one might be "better" in certain situations, I'm having too much fun with the Hurricane to switch.
All of that said, it should always come down to what you enjoy using, because everything can be effective in the right hands. My friends have other weapons they prefer, and you might not enjoy the Hurricane as much as I do, but I think it's a lot of fun

hurricane is a well rounded gun with good ocs. You can build it to be good at pretty much anything

Thunderhead’s main advantages are it’s horde clearing ability and large ammo supply. It’s downsides are it’s super long reload and being the most inaccurate gun in the game

If your goal is to fight big enemies, either would work. The burst gun, built for dmg/weakpoints, would be the easier place to start, but nowadays I'm prefer the coil gun

turn on motion aim (and turn off enhanced precision, it makes it too slow), it makes aiming infinitely easier on console than with just stick

I use BRT with compact mag for that purpose, deals with big things nicely. if you don't have that, lead spray, or experimental rounds, might be better to just run no oc as electro minelets sounds like it makes it worse for that. just make sure to choose weakpoint damage

no oc coil gun sounds worse at single big targets than BRT (want mole for that)

Ok I tried the Armor break module OC for Lok-1. During a Elimination. Used on Preas and Og Dread. I didn't notice any change in dmg between when full locks (12 locks) and doing bursts (4-6 locks)

I thought it would break the armor quickly. But it's extremely disappointing.

In general:

• Rock and Stone or you ain't comin' home.
• (Almost) Never take more than one stick of ammo off of a resupply.
• If people aren't really doing voice chat: use the ping system and the Rock and Stone to communicate. You'd be surprised at how much you can convey with those two things.
• Pay attention to when other people ping things. Especially when playing as Scout or Engineer, as it could be either resources for the Scout to get, or a Platform needed by the Scout.
• Along with paying attention to pings, group up for objectives/events when folks ping them. They are ready and might be waiting for you.

I totally understand. You can use the mic even if others aren't, but it's always possible that others have voice chat turned down/muted so you need to be ready to pay attention to the non-verbal communications. It's really kinda remarkable how versatile the ping and Rock and Stone communication system is, once you get into using it. So much so that many players seem to feel comfortable playing without mics. You can (relatively) easily complete a Haz 5 mission or even an Elite Deep Dive with random folks if everyone is using the non-verbal communications well.

Rock and Stone generally means some form of:

• "hello"
• "affirmative"
• "I'm ready"
• "we're dwarves and we're here to mine stuff and take out bugs, and we're all out of stuff to mine"

based on the context. And pinging let's people know where things and/or provides that context for what you're Rock and Stone-ing about

Adding onto that: It‘s also helpful occasionally for more specific communications. Mostly on higher hazard levels where sometimes the order of events matter and people need to agree on it. Like whether to even do a machine event or leave it. Or if on escort whether to do it now or later. Also if you spot a bulk while downed and nobody else can see it. Very niche senarios but good to know the option is available at least.
