Is the fact that an updated mod will install itself even if unchecked an intended feature, or a bug ? Cuz it's hella annoying
mate of mine had an idea for a mod that fully randomises your dwarf after each mission, or just gives you a set of random numbers so you can scramble it manually. Neither of us know how to mod though so I'm just putting the idea out here :^)
It's been brought up to devs already, it's likely unintended, but hopefully going to be solved somewhat soon
Safe mode shares save data with other launches, and the mode itself uninstalls all your mods (intended). As such, whenever you load back into another launch mode, you will find all your mods uninstalled, and requiring reinstall. Unfortunately, DRG seems to automatically enable all newly installed mods, meaning if you don't have the "disable outdated mods" checkbox ticked, old and likely broken mods are going to end up being installed, or conflicting mods are going to be installed together.
Can somebody tell me what miracle is?

Any interest in creating bundles/packages of mods that are essentially a mashup of like 10 mods, could be a seperate category with smaller limit so only 1 active at a time. (E.g a "ww3.14 with ammo + upgrade x 10 + swarm size") so people can just download 1 instead of 10 seperate ones. Dunno whether this would shorten/lengthen people's time spent joining a modded player(approved/sandbox). Just a suggestion as currently i'm running a 35 mod setup and it's getting pretty yikes in getting them all to edit values without conflict. I would manually do it but it'd probably take me a while to learn unreal engine. SOrry for paragarph
Certain authors will do that and create mod packs themselves.
You can try and ask a modder if they could make a pack of their mods.

someone just released a mod that removes rag dolls entirely, it isn’t verified though due to how the game handles rag dolls and enemy death. It’s literally one of the newest mods on the modio page

Is it very hard to integrate ones own songs into the game? Some games one can just switch some files around.
As far as making a DRG mod, music mods are pretty straightforward. But it's more complicated than just switching some files around as you have to use some of our modding tools and dig into the Unreal Editor.
Probably gotta take a look into it then. Would be a shame to miss out on therm tracks.

So this might be kind of an odd question, but I run 2 savefiles. One with a high rank and one low rank cuz i wanna be a noob again.
but my Noob savefile doesn't get my mods. Opening the modding page still says i'm subscribed, but it doesn't get the mods. Starting the old savefile has the mods again
I also tried unsubscribing and subscribing again, but the only thing that does is remove the mods from the old savefile and reinstalling them there

Make sure you're not running any outdated mods - I see you have the setting to auto disable them off. If any mod hasn't been updated since season 02 dropped, they're most likely gonna cause your crashes.

You're thinking of Hazard 5 Carry I think. I believe the current standalone version is outdated but you can run it easily through the Custom Difficulty mod

As in your list of mods in game? It'll automatically update. Things can be a little slow sometimes and modio was just completely down. If you just sit in the space rig it should hopefully catch up eventually.

I believe you activate the core infuser lookin' thing that you spawn by and go through the dialogue in there. Then when you open up the map, the missions will randomize with new objectives.

Re:Forged is more centered around the new enemies it introduce and make most of the weapon more powerful so they are able to handle them (and change some of them so they can feel unique).
In term of balance it wasn’t as good as CVO, but it can be pretty fun since the new enemies and the changes for the weapons give a completely different feeling.@orchid marlin
(By that I mean in Season 1, couldn’t try either of them in Season 2 yet, since neither CVO nor Re:Forged are done for Season 2 yet.)

approved mods can be used in multiplayer as long as the host has it, they can also be used in your normal save
sandbox mods can only be used in sandbox mode, which is entirely separate from a normal save profile

i have old mods from before mod.io causing crashes on launch, i restart install mods again and mods uninstall every close of the game. uninstalling drg does nothing.
Just press the laser pointer button (I think this is in the live build), press purchase mission rotations. Press M or tab to open mission map, look through missions for randomized ones.

Do the Haz 6 mods change the resistances and damage of the bugs, or just increase the bug count?
haz 6 changes the enemy variety, speed, and damage. large bugs also have increased hp scaling. grunts/mactera/other small bugs have the same health as haz 4 and 5
There is also increased friendly fire for optimal PvP

It is approved for progression since it is vanilla reward scaling. More objective = more payout but not more than vanilla scaling.

As the objective count goes up so does the payout in vanilla, I did not alter this, so if vanilla could have 2000 morkite missions this is what they would pay.

Even with Grapple Gunner, devs don't consider moderate winrate increases to be that big a deal. There's surprisingly few things you can do with it that are superior to just plain vanilla loadouts

The pinned messages describe the different mod approval categories. Those describe if you'd be able to progress on your main save or not (and each mod will be labeled on its page)
Mods aren't really going to be singleplayer/multiplayer only.
Verified mods are only gonna affect you while approved will affect everyone in your lobby.
So, clarify
Verified mods mean i can use them and join other players, or have other players join my game, and they get a nornal experience while I get modded stuff?

And anything - anything at all - tagged as either approved or verified is free real estate that won't stop counting progress, mineral gains, etcetera, correct?

is there a list of commands you can enter into your config files to change settings? I know there are mods that do it, things like remove decals or particles or whatnot, but I want to just do it myself and remove/change what I want at will.
the only command i know of thus far is

and I read that the default max value is 20. Don't know if it is true but if I could see more things like that it would be very cool
I haven't released this anywhere but here is a list of commands that I took from the game. I think it is over 3400 of them, majority likely don't work outside of certain builds. There are a bunch of FX ones though, it is alphabetical.

This is a generic crash report that doesn't provide much of any info to you as a user beyond that mods were active at the time of the crash. Maybe it's MotD, maybe not. I'm as clueless as you are.

you need to connect a mod.io account to your steam and then subscribe to it with that mod.io account. then it should download and install in game next time you're in. you can check mods you have installed thru the modding menu in the escape menu in the spacerig
Checks pinned Hmm... So what happens to players if an approved mod is changed to sandbox? (By ... whoever moderates the modders, not the modder making an update) is it a simple case of "Hey, this mod is now sandbox, to continue using it create a sandbox save." or is it full on "Rollback to when you installed it, get rekt."
The simple case. The next time the mod category is checked by the game (likely when the game starts up), if the mod is still enabled the user will be prompted to swap to a sandbox save or make one if they don't have one. If they choose to remain on their normal save, it just disables the sandbox mod.
There's no rolling back your progress.

I don't see a reason for this version to not work but I know my previous method did not.
One other thing that I implemented is a dynamic scaling system. So as players leave or join your lobby in the space rig the enemy and stationary enemy scales will be recalculated within ranges depending upon how many players are present. These are also synced with clients.

I am not sure, but trying to launch Morkite missions in Randomizer size (aka over 400) seems to crash the game
I am not sure if it's only in the Dense Biozone
Played a massive egg and salvage mission before (Glacia Strata und Dense biozone) and those had no issues
but what i know for sure is that trying to play Dense Biozone with 400 Morkite didn't crash
but over 400 Morkite crashed always (both with randomizer active)
Morkite is only rolling collection pls which is a known problem combo which is why that is happening.
I fixed it and will push an update soon with some other fixes.

Morkite will now skip egg hunt layout until I fix it in testing.
Going forward I will be using a separate actor for debugging so this should not occur much anymore if at all.

the other version is outdated, the one with the trophy is the most recent. you cannot download older versions unless you're a moderator or the mod creator

drg is nvidia ansel compatible if you have an nvidia graphics card. if not, i believe that Sandbox Utilities has a free cam now. That mod also lets you spawn things

You just copy the json text, paste it in the big text box in the mod hub menu for custom difficulty, then save it. Then it is there for you to use forever. It's very easy
it's almost like 2D assets are way easier to create and animate
a model of a gun, minus the textures, animations, sfx, vfx, is probably larger than most 2D game mods lmao

About Randomiser
Now Randomiser generally enables all mission types to be massive with massive ore deposits or tiny, but when looking a massive refining mission i feel like that mission type is an exception
Now I get that the model only allows for 3 wells
but what about secondary? and i don't know if that would be possible, custom time it needs to pump the morkite out?
but after trying out a PE, I kinda dislike how you can get mining expedition caves in Morkite Refining and Point Extraction missions

It's stuff that I am looking into, already got a prototype of multiple refineries in one needed for completion.
It's just very complicated stuff and time consuming so I haven't had much time to do stuff like that since I have been fixing stuff.
The next update is quite substantial in terms of content, reworks and fixes.
Completely fixed map gen failures (not crashes though), completely fixed incompletable secondary objectives (map gen failure or frozen / other non counting death methods), redid and optimized the internals for most of the mod, completely remade chimera formation and ghastly caves and added unique mechanics to both, added a new mechanic to sweet teeth, renamed some warnings and reworked all of the warnings, added the groundwork for new mission types and such.
Mission's been working fine on stability on my end :P

but yes, you can share your approved mods with everyone by making them join you, it will install them automatically if they are required by all

i wouldnt say any are must haves but there are some nice QoL mods
6x2 is harder than normal haz 7. People play it because the increased timers/enemy variety/speed of haz 6 + double the enemies makes for a very intense challenge that juggles managing both crowd control & single target damage and keeping a good pace. It's not perfect but it's intense and very fun.
I do hate the projectile speed tho

I hadn't even realized I said among us, nice. Wanting to share all mods, approved and verified. When people join it only shows the required by all mods when you join the lobby
the only way to share verified mods is to tell people you're friends with to also download them. there's no way in-game to make people download verified mods on join.

since with swarm size you can decrease spawns and enemy damage/speed/resistance to 0.05x so even on haz 5 you can play the game with your monitor turned off

There's no convenient way to do so. You cannot share your subscription list directly for some reason, and there's no mod list feature. Some users have been making mod pages that have every mod they use as a dependency but I'd recommend not doing that. It presents issues with enabling and disabling any individual mod, and it can clutter the mod.io moderator queue.

Bain as mission control with audio.
While that's a fun idea, sourcing and editing all the audio would be a big pain. If something like 15.ai added a Bain voice, it would make life easier but it'd still be a ton of work.

if I have a mod that replaces some vanilla overclocks then mods that also change vanilla overclocks won't work, right?
i think there is something wrong in my game. i clicked on 'manage my mods', unsubscribed from a handful of mods (i took a break from the game and few of those were outdated) and I subscribed to new mods (updated recently). but i don't see these new mods and I still see the old unsubscribed mods in the modding menu even after restart . can someone tell me what is going on?
in the mod.io page on the steam overlay website, I see my updated list of subscribed mods but the modding page in the game menu doesn't update. The steam overlay page shows me as being logged in (obviously or else I would not be able to sub and unsub). do i need to log in anywhere else in mod io?

i've got a small question regarding mission control mods that change the way it looks
i slapped on the morshu mod for a bit, but it's kinda still stuck as morshu's face where mission control would be, and uninstalling/reinstalling the game/verifying game files hasn't fixed it after unsubbing from the mod

Whenever I install a mod it mentions something like error invalid package. I've tried deleting both mod.io folders (under C:/Users/Public) and the one under localappdata. My DRG is saved in my E drive so I hope that's not the cause of the issue. Any solutions on how to fix this?
unsub to all mods on mod.io and delete account
launch game with -disablemodding in launch options (right-click game's title -> properties -> general tab)
exit to desktop and delete -disablemodding from launch options
go to "C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local delete mod.io folder
go to "C:\Users\Public" delete mod.io folder
(Check "C:\ProgramData" and see if there's a mod.io folder - if there is - then delete it)
then launch the game```

No, approved just means it changes the game a bit. Some approved mods WILL make the game easier and can be abused a little - tbh like Spawn Menu - spam turrets, spam crassus detonators, make absurd profits
What it does mean is that only players looking for other modded players will join you
