Hey dont know if you have it fixed, but for me the main issue was the public/mod.io folder directories were not able to be modified by anyone on the computer, me adjusting that seems to have fixed the issue and allowed me to download mods without the package is invalid error\

Grunts are really the only ones that don't have their weak spot glowing, (their heads), and it's a given in many games that headshots are usually critical hits.

I don't have the actual mechanics setup yet but it'll be a lot harder than just waiting and shooting.
I'm thinking that once I replace the repair sequence with the more proper repair animations and options that if you do that she will get back up but be hostile until you interact with the hacking terminal in that equipment spot and then have to stay within a certain radius of her to get her allied after the repair. The missile launcher I plan on using for the on demand missile strike on a location and will make the missiles a custom model that carves its way to the location from anywhere and detonates on proximity to the laser pointer marker.
Plus there are going to be 4 turrets on the side, which is what those pedestals are for.

Couldn't tell you. You'll need to enable them one at a time until you find the one that's crashing. Frankly it could be anything from a mod conflict to one that's out of date.

The vast majority of mods that are out of date still work with new versions so you should be fine to turn "auto disable outdated mods" off

Yo so I got a few funny mods a while back but since then I've made some decent progress. Not too sure how modding works-- all I know is having a separate save might've been involved. Can I turn them off without losing any progress? Or am I just stuck with them forever?
Note; the mods are all approved and verified, not sure what the difference is between them

(This is all just my personal understanding, I may be incorrect in some places.) First off all mods can be toggled at whenever you are alone in a lobby. Second off the difference between verified and approved is as follows, Verified mods are clientside mods that have no effect on gameplay (I.E a mod that changes a sound or removes effects for more fps) these mods do not force you to switch to a modded save, and allow you to join unmodded games (and host games without the modded label). Approved mods are mods which change gameplay, but do not affect game progression, and thus also do not effect saves; they will however give your lobby a modded label, and turn themselves off automatically when joining a standard lobby. (Again, not 100% on all this, just my current understanding.) Think that covers all your questions.

Removeallparticles mod helped keep my fps stable other than that I run it at a really low resolution but in full screen cause the resolution scaling gets me worse results
There's one that's similar called "Fart With Extra Reverb Detonator for Deep Rock Galactic" I use that one with friends and it's pretty solid

Has there been any discussion in the past months as to the issue of no one joining (or really hosting) approved mod games? I felt so bad there was someone playing with bosco+ (only the 1 mod) in approved and had been in 1 level for 50 minutes, alone. Still very much feels like there is a disconnect between verified and approved 😦
If you have more than 10 approved mods in your lobby, most people aren't likely to join simply because the server browser doesn't display the entire mod list. It also takes a hot minute for it to start showing the modlist. Mods are not always automatically disabled after you exit a heavily modded lobby, which is frustrating to deal with as you have to manually clean or disable the offending mods up. Approved mods are quite often either "cheaty" stuff that changes balance (not all of them, but a few for sure) or too difficult for most players (Hazard mods). People do join lobbies when they see more than 1 player in there.

I get joiners maybe once every 10-15 missions with like 10-15 approved mods running

how do sandbox mods work?
they kick you into an alternate save file
it's not connected to your main save so it will ask you to make a new save but other than that you can freely switch between them by disabling the sand box mod

you can use the modding tab in-game (it's in the escape menu) to do that, or you can go to that site on browser. whatever account you use needs to be linked to your steam. then you can subscribe and mods will download in game to use. there's some FAQ info about mod categories in pinned messages here

If it's verified you're always safe to join vanilla lobbies
What other players see depends on the mod, in the case of Weapon Paintjob Unlocker other players can see your modded skins, in the case of Custom Armor Paintjobs, other players see you wearing the default paintjob for the armor framework you have equipped

There is not, and the way that the mod works is by comparing how much health an enemy has on this tick compared to the previous tick, regardless of how the change happened, so sadly there's not a way to make that adjustment without majorly reworking the mod
that's approved so people will see it since they'll be made to download it if they join you. you also cant take it into other lobbies that dont have it
if it's approved, others will have to forcefully download the mod, making it visible for anyone. so probably

Bosco you can leave behind so that shouldn't be a massive issue right?

Its not too massive of a visual clutter outside of extraordinary circumstances.
I don't think you need to control the environment super carefully to get use out of the mod
It's most helpful for figuring out what parts of enemies to shoot when you're starting out and for visualizing things like damage over time effects

You'll notice that your weapons are doing less damage than they say in the equipment menu if you are playing on hazard 3 or above
I think I'll turn it off for MP but use it for when I feel like fiddling with elephant rounds on my gunner.
That's because despite what the wiki says, enemies don't actually have more health on higher hazards or player counts, they just gain more damage resistance
I think the only mod I'll use for now is the real info display on zhukov/leadstorm.

If you like damage numbers, you should check out Gorflow's other mods, they're great at providing information and generally helping out especially for new players

Hey, I have a question. Perhaps I'm asking the wrong place but a while back I downloaded mods for Deep Rock and removed the mods later on and it says I have no mods installed. It currently says I have mods on and says my last non moded save is in September of 2021 and is a significantly lower level than I am now.

that's because the mod devs haven't checked the "updated" tag in the files
they still work fine, usually
don't turn off the tickbox that says "automatically disable out of date mods" because that's how you get soft locked
but there's a togglebox on the top right side of the bar that lets you turn on/off all mods, use that

you can't when you're not alone on the space rig, but other then that you should be able to turn on or off any mods, regardless of if they're marked as out of date or not

Karl class is a great one. You can mix and match equipment to your hearts content. It can be as OP as grapple plus plats on one dwarf to not bringing a single actual gun and only tools, melee build essentially
im curious, i feel like the m1000's superblowthrough rounds are good though they dont feel cool, its impossible for me to tell if im getting any use out of it. I was wondering if theres any mod that would track how many kills you get with a single shot? I think that would be cool, and it would make blowthrough feel a little more impactful. I think it's important to note that im (quite obviously) a greenbeard so i feel a little weird getting into modding already but i think it would be really fun and make me feel more satisfied using this AWESOME gun

it's going to depend on the mod. most visual and audio mods are fine and just havent been version tagged. most blueprints mods are fine but some blueprint and hex mods may not work.

Currently, no. Would be a major undertaking and replacing models like that tends to break the characters or game. Only recently did a model swap actually retain functionality so it might happen, idk.

if it asked you to make a sandbox save then the mod isn't meant for public lobbies
i don't like these modded servers popping up that aren't official mods, maybe its a region thing and people don't have access to mod io or something, but joining a server and one hit on a mineral takes the entire thing out at once or drops a thousand pieces per hit, instant killing bugs, taking no damage. that's what the sandbox mods are for but people are somehow able to mod their games and run them without any mod label whatsoever

Player count is enforced by steamworks. Matches where you see 5 players are the result of an uncommon bug.
Pretty straight forward using some of the tools we have in the DRG Modding Discord (linked in #fan-communities).
Would just have to extract files from the game and then use a plugin in Blender to import them and export them as STL.
I have everything set up and can convert them for ya if ya need, shoot me a PM if so.

Nope. As per the description in the pinned messages, you can unlock achievements while using verified mods. Approved and sandbox mods are a different story though.

I didn't realize my save file is listed as sandbox and now (I'm assuming) I cannot complete steam achievements. I have my Main save but I would lose so much progress.

The difference being it doesnt make the progression any faster. Arguably easier maybe. But you still have to play the missions, kill the bugs, mine the minerals. And it takes the same amount of time as vanilla hence why its approved for progression.

Most mods I use are outdated, seemingly because of hot fixes and mod authors not keeping up. They should still work, just make sure you un-check the box in the modding tab for automatically disabling out of date mods and you should be all set

@sweet portal Use World Ending C4 sandbox mod and run FAR away. Human Drilldozer is an approved mod that makes your drills mine a much larger area much faster as well. Go for max fuel for drills, and use a mod that makes supply drops cheaper or free and you should be able to get it done, might just take forever though lol

I've never done a full VA mod thing for a game to this scale before, but I hope it works out.
My goal is to not only provide the necessary lines for a voice replacement mod, but to also encourage a 3D model artist to make a visual mod for the dwarf to make them look like kobolds, to complete the mod.... and maybe even by some miracle, encourage the developers to make them official.
If I could make a suggestion, maybe use the names of the enemy less often in their death line, especially for ones like the Spitter

You connect your steam to a mod.io account and then subscribe to mods on drg.mod.io. You can do this easily thru the modding tab in game (in the escape menu). Just make sure steam overlay is enabled to pull up the browser. You can also subscribe via drg.mod.io on any other browser. Pinned messages talk about the mod categories to get you up to speed

At first i was only interested in paintjobs but i finally got to the message the guy sent before (he's most likely offline rn) and i noticed that part of the mod
people will only see the changes if they also have the mod, which they would if you hosted since it's Approved and they'll be made to download it when they join you. you cant take it into other games

Im sure my friends were able to see the paintjobs regardless of me hosting or not
varies. Cosmetic Restriction Remover can be seen by everyone regardless of who has the mod, but Stock and Bosco Weapon Paintjob Unlocker and Custom Armor Paintjobs (Verified) can't be seen unless they also have the mod AFAIK

You can make a music mod that uses a Random node in the Cues to add more songs to each cue. You have to dummy the original songs or add them to your project to still include them. There is no way to combine music mods together though without making a new mod.

If you used approved mods, your save file doesn't change. It only gets marked approved in the browser if approved mods are on. If you used sandbox, it probably prompted you to make a new save/swap to one. You can check which one you're on in Options > Save Menu.

Anybody else prefer playing with 50 mods over playing vanilla? I know I’m not playing “true” to the game, but by Karl if playing in hazard 3 with my buddies with 5x the enemy count isn’t a rush. Lootbugs that fart on death. 40 nitra resupplies with double reserve ammo. Being a driller with a flamethrower, mini gun, and grenade launcher and my drills mine tunnels almost the same size Doretta does. It’s a shame I can never get any randoms to join my game lol
I'm usually sitting at near 50 mods myself, but I stay within the realm of verified mods to still play with randoms.
It's definitely awesome how much you can change the game to play it how you want.

Maybe unsubscribe all, restart game completely, then redownload all? I was having different issues with mods last night, my issue was that some mods have become outdated and unsupported so I just had to shuffle stuff around and change some mods
Makes rag doll animations shorter in duration, I use it because I’d theres a ton of bugs it makes me lose some frames, that mod helps
Hello, i am new to drg and i've never installed a mod, can sb help me find and downoad a vanilla friendly mod that highlights the mission items, resources and whatnot if there even is one?

unfortunately this didn't work and led to the same forever downloading, but thanks for trying. i managed to "fix" this by downloading drg + mods on another drive and transferring the mods to my main drive

Why was custom enemy cap removed?
It's hidden (aka private), not removed. The original mod creator has left the scene and isn't planning to return. Next update will break all mods due to technical reasons, so the author decided to hide the mods to avoid people subscribing unwittingly.
There is a soft replacement for CEC, namely the Spawn Menu mod. You can adjust enemy caps there.
cec also is a hex mod so it breaks relatively frequently vs just only blueprint
spawn menu directly edits the proper vanilla game info for the cap while cec is hex to remove all spawns and the blueprint side to spawn enemies that are tagged a certain way to be edited by the blueprint logic
same problem goes for generous management, it has a hex base to edit the supply pods and blueprint for the other aspects
this was before we could basically simulate / edit most things in the game with blueprint alone

Up until now I have been mostly recording my lines by memory of what I remember hearing in the game.
Is there a way for me to access DRG and find out how many lines there are and how many variations are there of the dwarfs?

There is a tool we use for modding called Umodel that lets you extract files from the game. You can pull every audio file if ya need.
Check out the modding Discord linked in #fan-communities. In the guides and tools channel in there we have a zip of tools. Check out the general modding guide for some help on how to use it.

Settings for the weapon heat crosshair will show up in the DRGLib menu you access by hutting B in game.
sounds like something on your end, all my verified mods are working, and i use quite an assortment, what kind do you use
haz 6/6x1.5, 40 nitra resupplies, live mission stat tracker
apparently haz 6 and the stat tracker work now but resupplies cost 60 for some reason
so they are working? check the history and/or patch notes for the 40 nitra resupplies, they might've added an option to change the amount needed to call one and made it default to 60
im not sure which are working and which arent anymore since stuff like weapons in the spacerig arent
and the 40 nitra resupply mod isnt changable since there are other mods made by the same guy for 60 and 50
I need some help, here's the problem : I added some new mods and out of nowhere I cannot see the players icon/names in-game, etc. anymore so.. it's seriously hard to find my teammates .. 😦

My mods have suddenly stopped working a bit
Certain mods just wont work together and reloading the game breaks all my mods, says they installed but notice no changes in game
So does mods involved with weapon sounds require other players to download it so they can join the lobby?
Because somehow the mods that change the ping noise or mob noises can be viewed as a non modded lobby

I'm currently redoing all of the internals and optimizing everything with some new methods that I learned a few days ago.
So basically rewriting from scratch but with reference to what I had to work off of.
Got a whopping 5x performance increase.

This is a planned feature of the mod linked below. But has not yet been implemented. It could be added anytime between this weekend and mid April depending on my availability.

Ey yo, not sure where else to ask this so I'll drop it here.
Anyone got the audio rips for, well, basically the whole game? I spent a good week a while back trying to get ahold of them. Managed to pull meshes, decals, etc. But the sound files I found were basically unextractable.
I want to make a mix using the weapon / voice / generic sounds, but I can't record it due to ambient noise, layering, and overlaps of different situational lines.
The stuff I have found online is mostly in-game recordings with all the issues that comes with. I'd really appreciate the assistance!
I assume you were using Umodel to extract things from the game? Make sure you have Sound ticked in the Export-only types setting when you first open Umodel. Then it'll let you extract any sound you want as .ogg files.
Yep, done that.
Even went on the correct version, since a lot of older guides were using an older version.
All the file locations are there, but the size ends up being basically 0kb. Totally empty folders

Possibly might have been an issue extracting it on a certain update.

Are there mods that can basically enable you to cheat on vanilla/verified-only mod lobbies? I was hosting a deep dive the other day ( I use verified-only mods in my lobby) and someone joined that clearly seemed to be cheating (always on full ammo, his boomstick was firing more than 2 rounds in a clip, etc)
I basically stared at him in game after I saw him fire 4 rounds of boomstick at once and then he just left, kinda confirmed my suspicions at that point
