How do you figure out which mods don't work if launching the game crashes without -disablemodding?
Do you go to mod.io and just unsubscribe from all mods, and launch without the option, then add them one at a time?

And @manic jetty - yeah the only way to know if a mod that doesnt have the gameversion tag of the current version is crashing is installing and applying it.
I started the game up today to see that my main savefile's a sandbox savefile now. The new 'main' savefile is from august and the 'main' cloudsaves only go up to that.
I used only the fabulous molly mod and it's mod manager before the official modding support dropped, by using PAK files. Is there a way to bring the progress that I made that is now on the sandbox saves over to the main savefile?
Are any of these known crashers so I dont have to disable them all?

Every mod that is using blueprint mod manager as a dependency is crashing right now - i would disable them all for now and give the mod creators a change to update their mods.

Depends, some mods are going to take more work than others to get working. Plus all of the mods are just being made as a hobby/for fun so just gotta be patient.

I try repak my class icon mod after someone suggested, still doesn't work... The icon for MC works just fine only the 4 classes icon together with their Server icon doesn't work... eventhough if installed manually instead of through modio it work just fine. The process is simple enough just replace the icon with my png file in their location so, I have totally no idea why it doesn't work properly...

Temporary hack for getting BPMM to work: Within the first minute of starting a game or spacerig. Go into game settings, OPTIONS tab, and open the Credits page (top right corner). Close the credits page and menu and BPMM is now running.
Are there any mods that change Enor pearl deposits? I've got a friend who has major trypophobia and they make his skin itch. Wanted to see if theres something out there
Only just starting up with mods within the last few days; Is there any way to keep my mods active from session to session, or do I have to go through the menu and manually turn them on every time I open the game?
Your mods are probably being disabled because they are marked as not yet being compatible with this update. Use at your own risk though as some of these mods may not work/may crash your game completely. There's an 'auto disable outdated mods' button on the modding tab that will stop this from happening.
Modders are working to test/update their mods to the latest update but that is gonna take some time.

my primary save with most of my progress is now marked as "sandbox" despite me having no mods loaded on it, not even approved/verified. is there a way to undo it? I can't play with unmodded people now

We only had to say bye to 40nitra pods and 3x flashlight, besides that, almost everything seems to work. Just that game seems to crash randomly now on mods that work for 1 but not for the other.

Read through the pins; sorry if this is a repeat, but I didn't see it elsewhere. I'm using Cosmetic Restriction Remover, and have unchecked "Auto Disable Outdated Mods" just in case, but almost every time I reload DRG the mod unloads and I have to reapply it, as well as change back any armor coloring I'd done with it (for some reason, my pickaxe remains the same, even though I'm using traditionally back blades as forward ones). Any suggestions?
Are there any mods that add more analytics to the post game score screen? I like that Deep Rock has counters for enemies killed, revives, falls, amount mined, but I think the game would be better with more tracked metrics like L4D2. Things like "Total damage done to Glyphids," "Most Red Sugar eaten," " Most Resupplies used," etc.
Better yet, is this possible for mods to implement with the current tools?

The mod loads now with updated Blueprint Mod Manager, but Speedster doesnt work yet π¦
it's possible just extremely hard because of how many elements it involves, most people just change overclocks because that's significantly easier
good to know I kinda want to see lever gun for either scout or engie now how hard would it be to make the engie shell load the warthog (some parts of the animation already exist on other guns but that is not some thing that is mechanically in the game not is leaver/pump action out side of the pump on the engineers reload)

So when you're placing a sentry, which sentry you're gonna place is lit up, and you can switch which one you've selected with the reload button. But honestly, the difference between a selected and unselected turret is so damn slight I have a hard time telling which one is which most of the time, even when I'm pressing Reload, sometimes I just can't see any change. Perhaps someone can make the difference between selected and unselected more distinct?
It isn't something we can mod in the traditional sense, it is enforced by online services and whatnot.
Those files affect what you can actually get from them. The uploader may not even know how to mod so it might never get updated. I think that I made the first public one for machine events and removed it later so other people uploaded it.

so, i've looked at the steam page discussing mods and issues they can cause, but the fixes didn't work. maybe i'm just doing something wrong? i want to overwrite my main save with my sandbox save cause it has more progress. i completely forgot that i had two small mods installed and i didn't really pay attention to the whole update 34 thing. i have way more progress on my sandbox save than i do on my main save. i want to get achievements and join vanilla lobbies, but i can only play with other sandbox players. i don't want to restart all over again cause that was like hours of progress.
level 25 to promote. also you can use the unupdated mod if you disable the setting to turn those off, but it might crash you

Yes, but we've done some testing and due to how native spawning currently works BPMM doesn't work for clients at all, the interface doesn't appear. It works correctly if you're the host though.
Was it approved or verified that is the least obstrusive category?

Correct! Only the 3rd category we haven't mentioned (can't remember the name atm) require making a duplicate save file

Approved mods will impact your progression by disabling achievement progress while they're active; I'm not sure if disabling them allows you to claim the achievements, it has never been definitely stated.

Hey guys I have a question. Is there a way I can bookmark mods on mod.io? The mod interface in-game is bare minimum (Doesn't allow us to sort mods, categorize them, make mod presets, etc) and since the game likes to reinstall the mods often and whenever a mod is updated it likes to automatically activate it, I want to keep the mods organized somehow without having to constantly deactivate some every time I boot up the game. (Also I subscribe to a lot of mods because I'm not sure how else to keep track of them on mod.io and I don't want to go through the entire list every time I want to re-subscribe to it.)
TL:DR is there a bookmark function for Mod.io, or some way you can make a mod list?

@harsh girder Long story short: as far as I know, author of GAP has moved the project to DRG Modding; you can get Twitch Integration by going to DRG Modding (link is in #fan-communities), find the twitch-integration channel there and follow the instructions, it's fairly complicated to setup.

Nope i literally have every skin, for example on the new engie weapon i only have the dlc frameworks and custom engineered, but i can use the skin from all other frameworks like scale brigade, neon band, etc
And since i read in the description that it wasn't supposed to give you ununlocked items i was confused
Someone ought to mention that to the author because if it's giving you access to everything, without owning the items, then that puts it in the sandbox category.
By skin i mean paint job, it doesnt unlock the frameworks

Anyone got the idea yet for putting a little high-visibility vest on friendly tamed steves? If not someone should get right on that. Maybe put a little hard hat on em. Would certainly help to make em more visible as friendlies than the minimal cyan overlay which is a nightmare for colorblindness.

I know for sandbox mods you need to make a separate save file, but im just wondering how i should go about making a separate save file should i decide to play with some sandbox mods. do i put my current save in a separate folder and just start the game? is there a built in multi-save feature i dont know about? when you download a sandbox mod it will show you a save menu thing
then you have to type in a save name and press make a save and it just makes a copy of your current save but sandboxed

yeah thats why i asked if they're using karl class. the list is litterally too long to display the new guns. you have to disable it to see it and purchase them
Why does my game reinstall the mods every single time I start it up? And that leads to me having to hit the "apply" to apply ALL the mods then I have to go through and disable a bunch.

seems like a bug introduced as part of fixes in experimental. they likely already know of it and just havent had an oprotunity to push out a hot fix yet

Hello! Is there a guide to making UI mods? I wanted to estimate how hard it is to add an overheat indicator around the crosshairs.
why does the mode preview video not play if i click on it?
Has to be an issue with Steam Browser itself; video previews work if viewed on the mod.io site through a normal browser.
do all mods give the same gold and xp? like if i used an admin gun mod, would i still get everything given to my main account without problems
@orchid hemlock not sure if it's working but your best bet might be the Display Events mod
it tells you what special things are in a mission or not as soon as you land, and it's approved

If anyone figures out how to increase the player limit, it would be awesome to have a giant mission where everyone splits up into smaller groups and goes on mini missions to maintain a base camp. The goal would be to survive as long as possible.

I think they're aware of it, not sure how hard it is to implement. Figured a mod would be an easy way to fix it. Hopefully can get one approved so it doesn't require a separate save. I don't use mods at all so I'm not very familiar with the rules for them
only mod that's been a help for me is https://drg.mod.io/brighter-objects but it's pretty limited in its scope, nothing for UI elements that I've found
Thankfully something like a colorblind mod would probably fall under "verified" since it sounds clientside

This is where it should appear AFTER you do the full assignment mission set. (it would say 'locked' or something there instead until you unlock it ... which you do by clicking there, and clicking buy in the popup or menu in the lower right afterwards)

Just assume itβs outdated. I canβt use Dynamic Resolution myself for some reason so Iβm not sure.

Anyone know of a crosshair mod that lets me change it to something more standard like a counterstrike crosshair or just a dot? I feel like some weapons have crosshairs that sort of get in the way

the fact that there's a limit at all is due to a bug they're trying to fix
this has nothing to do with what games players tend to join
also even ignoring the fact that many vanilla players tend to ignore approved lobbies, this is an awesome change since you can now use many more cosmetic mods in multiplayer sessions, in addition any of your approved mods

not that im aware of. the mods not working as client seems to be an issue for blueprint mods only, other things seem to work fine, from my experience

They don't add enough to DRG to justify the development costs.
I've used a path tracing plugin for reshade in DRG. The performance hit was enormous for a minor graphical improvement.

Hi, hopefully this is an alright place to ask, I've had a lot of issues for past week with accessing the mod options in the menu. Mods used to work without issues, but suddenly one day, I couldn't click anything, or access the mod thing. All I get is this screen, where I cant click anything, and its just stuck on "fetching terms of use from mod.io" (Which I already clicked agree on before, so I don't get the option to do that anymore.
I've gone through a lot of troubleshooting, reinstalling the whole game, unsubscribing to all mods I had present, deleting and making a new mod.io account and many more "fixes" to no avail, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Seems no matter what I try to do, I just cant interact with that menu. A bit earlier it did kinda work, but all it did was show a blank menu with two boxes that did nothing, when clicked.

How to make mod for DRG? What library need for make mod?
Do you have the option enabled that automatically disables outdated mods? (it's on the bottom of the modding settings screen) The recent hotfix counts as an update and marked every mod as outdated unless the mod maker manually went and updated the mod's listing.
There's some useful guides and tools in the DRG Modding Discord (linked in #fan-communities).
General advice: disable the "automatically disable outdated mods" setting and never turn it back on, it's a trap that causes more grief than it's worth. If a mod crashes with the hotfix/update, it's going to crash you regardless if it was active or not prior to the update. For some reason all mods are automatically activated during the first boot of the game after any update.
Genuine question : if the cosmetic restriction removal mod (the one that lets you use paints from frameworks on other frameworks) is done by only changing some parts of the code and is already present in the game, why havent the developers made it available? It's such a good QoL change, being able to use scale brigade color on any weapon framework.

You are 100% right - its extremely unpopular. To be clear I mean that it's unpopular with the average public player. Obviously there are friends groups of 4 that love mods and use them all the time...

Because modding is utilized in a multiplayer environment. Therefore it's stuck with the stigma of being used to cheat. Really it just comes down to ignorance since sandbox mods are forced into their own, well, sandbox.

Yes. I do have it disabled. Every time I log into the game, I get a huge list of red "failed to extract" or something like that on the right side of the screen, which covers every single mod I have downloaded, cause then I can go into the mod list, and none, NONE of them are currently "downloaded."
It's a process that happens every time I start the game.
Half the time I try to start the game the game crashes too but I hear the devs are aware of that issue.

Using something like Umodel you can scrounge around the game files, exporting game assets as otehr files that are easier to work with. Models come out of the game as PSK files but can be imported into something like Blender with a plugin. Guides should be in the modding Discord linked in #fan-communities

@somber obsidian so i found out what was causing my mods to stop function. my firewall decided to just suddenly block drg for some reason. i recommend you check and see if you can access the server list to see if your connection is the issue

Think it'd be hard to add captions showing when a battery/crate or beacon helmet is nearby and their sound is playing? Being deaf, they are much harder for me to stumble upon visually, especially the helmets. They seem to be entirely uncaptioned so far.

and it's not always greybeards, i get some adventurous newbies that join too π
idea for starship troopers type mod:
mod that makes it so that instead of higher difficulties increasing the stats of bugs it just increases the amount proportional to the increased power of the bugs in vanilla
so instead of a 14 health swarmer at haz 5 you get a pair of swarmers at haz 1 stats
for number increase purposes its always assumed theres a squad of four, so at haz 5 instead of a 1125 health praetorian with 4 people its 4 337 health praetorians regardless of squad size
basically means roughly the same difficulty but in the form of swamping you with enemies rather than letting the enemies huff some 'roids before you drop down
starship trooper's 2x haz4 bug spawns on haz5 is already pretty bad on fps
like, my drg normally runs at around 140-200fps, my worst SST performance was like 29fps (duo PE where we didn't kill any bugs and just did objectives)

MANY mods are out of date right now... you just have to turn mods on one at a time to see which ones work for now, or look to the right to see if they are out of date. Many of the out of date ones STILL do work, but some do not and will crash the game. The ones that ARE up to date, work no matter what.
i found a solution in reddit i deleted my mod io accoint and disabled modding then reanebled an i logged in with steam and now it works

Fyi I think either Brighter Objects or Cosmetic Restriction Remover (or combination of both) causes visual bugs from time to time. Like weirdly glowing exploders, or snow flashing and looking like sand, morkite looking weird etc. It's bizarre so if you have epilepsy watch out for that. Particularly bad is frozen dirt in glacial, you are right up to it and it flashes really fast.

The last one, but a change for the platform gun that builds waffle forts instead of cheese wheels.

Iβve been playing with DRG mods lately and Iβm pretty surprised some of them are βapprovedβ because of how much easier they can make the game.
Lower nitro supply pods, faster molly, upgraded doretta, improved bosco, changing enemy spawn limits, etc.
How do the devs determine what makes the game βtoo easyβ? I know sandbox mods are only those that directly affect progression/XP, but doesnβt having 10+ mods that make the game way easier also do that? You could regularly run haz 5s as if they were haz 1s or 2s and earn way more experience than you would have otherwise.
Disclaimer: I donβt have an opinion on it but Iβm sure the devs do.
it comes down to what affects progression. Sure 40 nitra resupplies makes the game easier as does buffing the weapons. But you still have to complete the mission objectives and you still have to go through the gameplay loop.
Ultimately it doesn't speed up the game in any significant amount.
the way approved is set up, it gives a lot more room for choice because it marks lobbies as such
they do change gameplay and can make the game easier or harder, ultimately, but you at least know that in some way the gameplay will be altered
the sandbox category is generally for types of mods that let you skip over some system like overclock hunting so you can get all of them immediately for example
its a bit hard to pin down from my perspective, though, some choices that have been made for which mod categories some mods should be in have been less agreeable

but, you are still doing the mission
why would you make resubs 40 nitra when you could just... give yourself infinite ammo?
it doesnt really break anything super hard and thats what the distinction system is meant to indicate

how well does blueprint mod manager work on the current version? i've seen conflicting messages so far and it hasn't been updated to the latest patch yet so i'm wondering if it's safe to enable
It has been updated for a week or so and works fine unless you are a client due to a bug the devs need to fix.

so there is this mod that was released on Nov 6th and it still hasn't gotten approved (it has the "aimedforapproved) all the mod does is add more max ammo to the LOK-1
and not just LOK-1 mods not getting approved there are tons of other mods on the mod.io page that aren't getting approved

Thatβs my guess.
Something worth noting; the xp gain per mission is part of a formula involving objectives, minerals mined, enemies killed, AND TIME.
eg; if you do the exact same mission twice, mine exactly the same amount of minerals, kill the same amount of enemies.. BUT, do one of them 1 minute faster... You will actually get LESS total xp for the mission.
Of course, your 'xp per minute' will be higher, but xp per mission will be lower.
So don't fret too much about mods that might 'speed it up'. Its very hard to break the 1,000xp per TWO minutes rate without the double xp modifier... And people who know how to play (in vanilla no mods) can easily break 1,200xp/min or so on a double xp mod on a 7 aquarq point defense mission.
And as a personal example; I currently play 2x bugs (usually 3x with 'scout for starship troopers', but waiting for that to be updated still), 40 nitra, and a ton of QOL stuff as well as grenade buffs for all classes. I RARELY break 1,000xp per 3 minutes.
There are much faster and efficient methods to gain a massive amount of XP quickly than using approved mods. Cheat Engine, savescumming with save editors, etc.
Tbh i recommend not looking at player level at all, but rather at hats (limited and old ones prove that lvls are legit) and overall movement in lobby (especially barrel boosting) they are better indications of overall skill usually (also you can just check steam hours lol)

3x flashlight and above should be considered a sandbox mod, it's like having a flare gun with infinite ammo and on every class or unlimited throwable flares
It does replace throwable flares quite well tho

yep, before 2 rockets would leave grunt with 10%hp and on fire (so would die to dots)
now 3 rockets leave them 10%hp and not on fire lol

Generally speaking. If a patch doesn't touch the files a mod changes, you should be able to still use an outdated mod. It depends on how the devs patch this game.

In it's current state at least fron my expirience it's the least valuable perk it's not useless but your better taking something like iron will field medic or dash, hell even senses is super good even if it's a bit situational

Hi there, having a lot of trouble with mod.io lately, mainly it just refusing to work suddenly. Didn't have any problems before this. I wiped my subbed mods as well as the folder in my C drive, no luck. I had about 20 mods installed, once I discovered that I somehow had 2 mod.io accounts and merged them, all my mods vanished and will not load since. I've also tried using both mod.io in chrome and in steam overlay web browser

verified mods are only seen by you. approved/sandbox mods have to be downloaded by everyone who joins you when you host and get turned off when joining others

Hey all, my friend streams and is planning on streaming DRG sometime next week. I looked around and saw a video of a person using a Twitch integration mod, and it looked like a fun idea. I was trying to find out how to get it working but I can't seem to find out how? It's strange, the video is the only place I can find a lead on the download, but then his link leads to a broken discord for me. Any help is appreciated!
twitch integration is done thru a combo of spawn menu and a companion app. info at the modding server, link at the bottom of #fan-communities . there's a channel in that server for twitch integration

What does that do for game preformance on average?
tbh i haven't done any in-depth metrics to be able to give you a number or percentage on average
I guess a specific case would be Escort. I cap my FPS to 60 fps and without the mod I can maintain constant 60 FPS in "silent" times (i.e., no enemies, everyone just walking/mining around) like the spawn room of escort mission. However as soon as the dozer starts drilling that easily drops down to 30-40 fps and drops down even further more once enemies start actually spawning. But using the mod, I can maintain my 60 FPS even when the dozer is drilling. Then FPS drops is dependent on how many enemies spawn.
There's also that explosion thing that happens in between the stages of the hearthstone fight. Without the mod, my game straight up freezes for a second whenever that explosion happens. With the mod, no freezes or drops at all.
i'd be curious tho on whoever uses my mods how much it improves fps for them
If you find an interesting cave which results in significant performance drops I can run a benchmark between vanilla and the performance mods. Just send me a screenshot of the esc menu and the specific mods.
hell Iβve got a 2070 and my game still drops to 30-40 FPS if it gets busy
