Three days ago, I had to switch to Mint just to use verified mods because when I tried enabling a 51st mod, I ran into the exact same issue (I had 75 verified only mods)

Unfortunately it still disables matchmaking but not direct connects afaik.
mint adds [MODDED] to the start of the lobby name. thats not a surefire way to identify modded lobbies though; im pretty sure mint always tags the lobby with [MODDED], even if theres only verified mods. And some people use forks of mint that remove the [MODDED] tag entirely. regardless, you might be able to use something like https://mod.io/g/drg/m/server-filter-by-nameregion#discussion to filter out lobbies with certain words in the name (like [MODDED] or 6x2)
but if they're completely unmarked, with no mention about it in the lobby name... then i dont think theres any way to filter them

Do you know where your mint install is?
You'll need to open it to disable it
Theres a bug with the mint master branch that makes it so the game will not show you Season 6 lobbies
But the fix is easy
alrighty sounds not too bad
Find your mint installation, open mint, disable all mods, click install mods once they have been all turned off, then launch the game vanilla, check the server list and you should see season 6 lobbies now
Once you do, you're all fixed and you can re-enable all mods
Some mods may need an update or may be broken

that flashing red circle hurts more the eyes then it helps... its even more annoying by haz 5 when you are revived and are at like 5 hp

Okay so if the game unexpectedly closes with a mod active, the game just removes all your mods by default apparently

Okay so yall obviously know the overheat crosshair mod, but is there anything that makes the Coil Gun bars on the crosshair more visible, or maybe an overheat crosshair with segments instead of smooth movement

They might, it's just that they haven't been labeled specifically for this version
A lot of mods lost maintainers while we were waiting for S6
In addition to stuff above - if you're using the in-game modding integration (as in you click "mods" in the game itself), be sure to uncheck "disable outdated mods" in the mod menu

Can someone make a mod where Engineers Lok-1 starts talking like the gun Skippy from Cyberpunk 2077? There're some voice lines that would work in DRG aside from the dialogue voice lines. I think it would be hilarious to have one of engis guns talking
theres a mod made by siirvend that gives the lok-1 a voice, its not skippy but it does the job well (voicelines play when reloading with a full clip)

As long as you don't run over 50 mods at once, you can both host and join missions. Once that limit is exceeded, hosting is disabled.

Can you browse and download mods directly through the game? I'm pretty sure I saw the option somewhere but the modding menu in the settings only lists the ones that were already installed
Found it, there's the option "To Info Screen" at the top right of the modding menu. The info screen can also be set to show on startup in the UI settings

this will make a separate save, but after testing, you can just turn off this mod, and go back to your regular save
don't think so, but there are some mods which allow you to generate rather specific mission, maybe they have such options, look into those

I tried deleting the head meshes for the default dwarf and it ended up hiding the rest of the body model. Is there a specific way you're supposed to replace head meshes?

This is subjective. You don’t need any of them - try to find something that you wish were different or customised to your need. Say, try some basic query on mod.io per mods popularity and start from there
Off the top of my head, some of the neutrally useful ones are, I'd say:
- Weapon Heat Crosshair,
- Combined Resources,
- Build Inspector,
- Rancor's Rig HUD.
and don't forget dependancies if there are any - they should be listed in description of each mod

Test them out for any issues, but typically yes - all the mods I used before Season 6 were working after the patch went live, including the 4 I have listed above
Rancor’s rig hud doesn’t have the option to select missions on that part of the hud right? Cause I think Missions Hud mod has that option which imo is amazing, and allows for setting haz difficulty and party settings, but they both do pretty much the same thing in the end
I had defaulted myself to Rancor’s HUD by the virtue of it being a simple tracker for what missions I can find <in which zone> on the mission map, but I wouldn’t be surprised if since then there’s been mods that have build and/or improved on that solution.

I would add "More Loadout Slots and Icons" too and "MOTD + Stat track" (sends customisable messages when you host and tracks damages and kill/assists)
Apologies if this has been answered before, but...I just recently installed mods (client-side/verified only) and any time I restart the game, they all default to inactive and I have to go in and manually activate my installed mods upon starting game. Anyone else experience this?
Edit: I unchecked "auto disable outdated mods" and still same result.
Edit 2: As of now, mods are loading normally, without having to manually activate them. I have no idea what caused it initially, but it's working for now.

like the game already has an equipment menu for the flares. but why are there no upgrades for it?

new and unique upgrades are hard to mod in and i don't even know of any upgrades that have been modded in, so all flare mods that exist just buff them directly

Correct. That is because the previously-existing upgrades to flares have since been directly baked into the base flare. what you are working with at base is what used to be considered a fully upgraded flare

Well, that's new. I've never seen a rate limit error there. I don't know the fix for this specifically, but when I encounter rate limit errors in other games/sites/etc I typically stop and try again like 30m/1hr later
i have a feeling that rate limit is because DRG is not tunneling through my VPN
and i'm certain the gov here has blocked even mod.io

do you know how i can mess around with like the fire wall settings related to DRG to have it go through the address and port i'm using for my VPN connection?
looks like it might be possible with some sort of 'bind' call, but I don't know enough about this to tell you for sure. Literally just searched it and eventually found that as a possible solution. I can't really say if it would work or how to do it though, as I'm not at pc and can't test it myself to get the hang of it

looks like that's possible, but then you'd need to manually insert it into the game unless u wanna use the 3p modloader. I don't remember if that's as simple as inserting a .pak in a mod folder tho, or if it's more complicated

Okay so the original creator of haz1x64 deleted their GitHub account apparently and I saw a video on haz1x64 and thought it would be fun to do I don't know where to get the file anywhere do any of you have any ideals?

I've been running approved mods on the same save that I've used for normal, vanilla playing. So I usually just swap the approved mods on-and-off depending on if I wanna play vanilla, does this cause any actual issues with the game?
nope! you're completely fine, no issues will come up with that unless u activate a sandbox mod
How do you know if you have been changed to a sandbox save?
Have been interested in dabbling with some basic quality of life mods and sometimes joined modded servers, but would prefer to have my own save be "normal"
If you've activated a sandbox mod, you'll be prompted to create a separate sandbox save when you try to load into the space rig. Your main save will be fine, you just can't use sandbox mods on it without using the external modloader Mint

if you haven't been prompted to make a sandbox save, you haven't activated any sandbox mods. Additionally, you can see a mod's approval category when subscribing, downloading, and toggling it in the mod.io integration, which can be useful for making sure none are active

funny, the latest thing from 2023 doesnt let me add the mod.io oauth token bc of authentication error. no idea why, but i'm suspecting their api changed since 2023 😂
you might not be using the right code, had to refresh my token and it worked fine
ok yeah that was it, the first oauth token they give you is a LOT shorter than the other one. weird UX on mod.io's part
i went as far as to compile mint from source but that one fails to start due to some x11 dependency not found on my wayland system
I had to use "env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY <path/to/mint>" in the terminal for that one.
@arctic phoenix Last time I talked about damage number mods I got timed out for 2 hours so I have to do it here. Some damage number mods by default show the scaled damage. Enemies at higher difficulties actually don't have more health, instead they take less damage from the guns. If you go into the settings for that mod and toggle the box for resistance scaling, it should be fixed.

i have a question about the Swarm Control mod. couldnt find an answer on the mod page and im sure its basic enough to where i can get an answer in here. The actual multiplier in the swarm control settings, is it based off a universal preset or is it applied TO your hazard. like if i want the enemies to have as much health in a hazard 5, and i load a game on hazard 5, do i them put the HP modifier to 1x, or to a value that would correspond to the games actual modifier of health in haz 5, which might bel ike 1.2x or something

I'm starting to play with mods and when I try to play, no one joins my room, even though I only have approved mods. I have a friend who uses sandbox-style mods and a lot of people always join his room. Just yesterday we were playing with 8 people. Does anyone know why?
If they load stuff with MINT, pretty much anyone can join even from the normal server list, and if you use the in-game mod integration with approved mods, people will have to specifically add "Allow Approved" to the server filter

Installed MINT a couple of days ago and its working great, However I have this small issue that when I browse the servers in the servers list I cant see what mods are used on the different servers, it just says "ERROR" for each mod, Anyone had a similiar issue?

I just installed mods and trying to play with my friend, we're running the same mods which includes one sandbox mod. He can join my lobby but I can't join his, and whenever I try it gives me a "sandbox mods disabled" warning before kicking me back to my own lobby, how do I fix?

Yes, you can join and be joined
From my experience with literally just forgetting to turn off stuff like Sandbox Utilities - a lot of mods shut themselves off when you're not the host. At least from what I can tell, don't quote me on how mods work exactly
And to the last question - people can join you, for their game instances, you're basically running vanilla
MINT will put [MODDED] into your lobby name though, no matter what mods you're running. There are forks that don't apply the tag though, so yeah, we just trust people to be responsible
When I try to join anyone else I get the first popup saying no sandbox mods installed, press "OK", then the second screen saying no sandbox mods detected and I can't choose anything there and after a few seconds it just loads me back to my solo lobby... Anyone know how to fix it so I can join others? I'm using MINT and all the mods installed are verified (if that matters)

I had the same problem when I ran mods via MINT... Uninstalled them via MINT and then reinstalled them via the ingame mod browser and haven't had any problems since

Are you using the actual token or something else? The actual token is about 500 long, slight exaggeration but it's super long
IE, on mod.io there's API Access token and OAuth access token, chances are you're trying to use the API access token

Look around <gamedir>/FSD/Saved/SaveGames, mods typically save either right there or in Mods/
Some are yes, but not all. Combined Presets for example isn't there

Yeah, I didn't see that in any of the guides either and had the same problem... Also, when copying the url of the mods to paste into MINT they also didn't say you had to copy everything up to and including the # in the url, then copy the mod ID and paste that... Just copying the url gives an error message instead

I dunno, just know that when I copied the url with the "#description" at the end I get error message

Yeah, at first I was only using 1.40 updated mods because most games where I use mods the game breaks real easy when using outdated mods (or just due to some obscure conflict that isn't obvious), then I saw a vid from only about 10 days ago where a guy was using 50+ mods and most were outdated
yeah like out of my 53 mods 7 are up to date
The reasoning i was able to gather for that is the fact that DRG has native mod support wich i think means updates dont alter the file directory quite as drastically as they normally would so things generally stay the same between updates sans the items changed or added so even a 3 year old mod can still find and correctly alter what its supposed to.

The in-game loader is, hm, fairly buggy (though still usable), but the whole process with it is "find mod - click subscribe - wait for download (and maybe nothing will break)". MINT is unironically more reliable while still easy to set up
I can't figure this out, the mod list menu seems to be designed to let me save presets, but i can't for the life of me seem to get it to actually save
Does it, like, not save after you switch to a preset and select whatever mods you want there? Back when I used it, it worked for me

it's an alternative to the ingame modding system that uninstalls your mods randomly and takes 900 billion years for people to install every unnecessary mod if playing with approved ones
it uses mod.io to fetch the mods
It's a sideloader as opposed to an official loader, and has significantly less glitches/more stability
it also only requires host to dl game-changing mods for them to take effect, unless the mods are specifically RequiredByAll

i'm on an arch based distro (endeavorous) that uses wayland and if i try to execute mint as normal it just hangs and only works if i execute it as admin

@kind carbon about that one - there's a mod that allows, among other filters, blacklisting specified lobby names, which is exactly what I did before to [MODDED] lobbies
Keep in mind though that MINT loader prepends [MODDED] even if the host is using only verified mods

Just had to abandon a 20+ min on-site refinery solo run on scout 'cos I grapple hocked to the refiner and got stuck in it... Even getting killed and revived by bosco didn't unstuck me, and obviously can't mine my way out

you usualy get stuck if you go towards an entity (refinery, non-cave entities) very fast, you might get stuck
esp when the part you go towards is moving
Someone in drg-chat suggested dropping a resupply on myself to get unstuck and that actually worked... So memo to self when doing solo missions, always keep 80+ nitra on hand in case of getting stuck

and you also don't need to wait for the barely visible c4 "pulse" to reach you, and you don't need to look at the brick
Well the vanilla pulse also goes to the max distance, so effectively you are just pausing the pulse at the max

all i could find was smth to increase the cap of active challenges from 3 to 5, which is sweet but the cooldown remains the same and only gives u one at a time
the best i can find is that more mission secondary and other approved stuff like massive content revise
so you probably gonna grind script for around 20 times and all the season item stuffs
there's also another method but it's considered cheating so not worth talking

I don't think so, but you have four or five (can't remember which) different slots you can save crosshairs to. I usually use the default one for all weapons so I have a reference point for the center of the screen when the default crosshair doesn't, and then I also have one for when I use OPA because DRAK's crosshair doesn't change to show spread.
