Would using something to raise brightness be allowed in regular lobbies? I struggle with my vision so id like to use something for that
I don't know of a mod which flat-out raises the brightness above what you can normally set the game to, but there's a verified mod which makes collectibles and minerals themselves brighter and you can use it just fine (I don't have vision problems and I also use it): https://mod.io/g/drg/m/brighter-objects#description

Don´t you have dissabled modding? If you right click on DRG in steam library and than select properties, you should see it under Select Launch Option.

ok so for some reason after removing the mint mods the integrator works normally now
Is there any mod that fixes the UI of ores deposited when you run all the secondary missions? It gets pushed down and you aren't able to see what ores are in your depository

Best way that I can measure one meter is one step forward, so if it's 50 meters i would translate it to 50 steps

That would definitely have to be a sandbox mod, which I'd wager isn't what you want

and apparently nothing reverts when i stop using mods so why would it make a difference
You can spawn things with sandbox utilities but if you spawn events it will cause client desync
Yeah if you're using mint, then mod categories don't matter
I use this to disable annoying events/encounters like the corruptor, korlok, prospector, but you also set events to always spawn on mission generation. I will say that you need to configure it every time you boot the game though, but it's pretty easy.

Ah yea that is my mod. It is pretty borked atp sorry. After not finding a way to allow multiple events to spawn without causing client desync, i lost motivation to fix anything else regarding it
Alternatively if you wanna cut a couple corners you could use a save editor to put yourself at lvl 100 for the season and give yourself a pile of scrip

You need to configure it in the space rig before dropping into the mission
I assume it would cause clashes with my "100% good events" mod though, if they're set to 0 by default

Understandable. Getting terrain and event generation to play nice across host and client when mint is involved seems to be a black box.
I don't believe I fully isolated it, but disabling it did solve my issue. And I'll clarify that it didn't crash my game exactly. It made it so two of my three party members got disconnected, and could not rejoin the mission.

yeah, seems like the mod isn't spawning a core stone when i load into missions - could be an altercation with another mod or simply not enough room to generate it lmfao i'll try sandbox utilities
spawning events with sandbox utilities is pretty difficult, objective and event spam sounds more like Massive Content Revise or dedicated event/encounter control mods

Yes others will see your lobby and it will have a [modded] tag on it. If you only want to play with verified mod users I recommend hosting your own game and kicking those who are cheating. There is no other way

Yes people who are using approved/sandbox mods via mint can join your lobby but most mods wont do anything unless you are the host . Eraiser Caiser aded mk2 turret's it's a mod pack that turn's drg into doom pretty much there's more and they are faster-ish? But you getting 2x half and ammo and also it change's some upgrades and Overclock's i wish i could turn off them thru mod hub but sadly i can't

My DRG starts with a blackscreen after installing 50 mods with mint for the first time

also i think ammo percentage indicator extended still causes issues with mint

You can rotate missions with sandbox utilities until you find a double xp mission
There is also a custom mission selecter mod but I haven't tried it

I'm having desync problems running modded. I uninstalled Sandbox Utilities thinking that was the problem but it still seems to occur
Even though the mods I have now worked completely find beforehand
Sandbox utilities does not cause desync just having it installed. Spawning machine events with it will cause desync
Be aware it is one of the few mods that will partially function as a client joining your lobby and has alot of potential for abuse by clients

there's no way to tell if they're deprecated or simply not tagged for the latest version
for the particle mods they usually just don't have an entirely updated list of particles to be removed, but updated ones should exist

Hey, I'm having some trouble with getting the More Players Balanced mod to work properly when I turn on the mod.
It seems simple enough, but I'm not entirely sure how to get it to work for me and and a handful of friends.
I was just hoping to get some help, because I've played on a few servers that had more than 4 players, and I never got any notice for needing mods and such when joining them.
And I'd like to know how to use the Dynamic Nitra mod as well, if anyone uses it of course.
I posted this in general, but does anyone know any sandbox-ish mods or movement courses that offer you a lot of space to run around in? I know about the standard sandbox mod, just wondering if there are others.
i dont know of any mod that adds custom movement courses or maps
standard sandbox mod can also enable cheats like infinite health/instant resupply/delete all enemies in normal missions

Well, the last time I tried using it with more than 3 friends, it didn't seem to work, though part of that might've been whether or not one or two of my friends was already on the game or not, when I sent the invite that is.
But I'm just needing some help to know just which things to change to just allow more than 4 players to join the lobby.
Because the only two mods I hade turned on was the More Players and ModHub ones, so I could adjust the numbers of max players and all.

there is a safeguard to disable active mods if the game believe it crashed, to prevent chain crashing on boot
otherwise I wouldn't know, especially if its only some mods, shutting down gracefully from the quit button should keep the mods active

anyone knows a way to move the priority target mod? there are no options for it in modhub
Hi so I've been messing around with modding with mint today for the first time. I started installing a few verified mods to test out how it works. When running to install mods this popped up. Basically its saying there is a Trojan in the game files? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not sure if mint or some of the mods specifically caused this or is it my antivirus? I use Bitdefender free version. Any ideas?

It's the antivirus being a little too careful. The way that mint applies patches to the game by injecting custom code looks a lot like tricks used by malware, and mint is of course not popular enough for most antivirus programs to be familiar with it and allow it through.

because of exactly that, plus mods disappearing until i unsub then resub, plus the load order seeming to randomize every time i launch the game, plus them randomly turning on… built in mod loader is spectacularly bad

I've been playing this game vanilla for some years now and i was wondering if there was a particular mod-set people use to add difficulties and some QoL changes to improve the game and add more content without breaking it?
you can play with anyone with any verified mod, the approved mods bend the game a bit, things like more difficulties, new over clocks, etc. Up to you where you draw the "breaking the game" line
I'd think gamebreaking would be unnaturally overpowering yourself against the current highest gameplay difficulty in DRG
So I'm not necessarily looking for mods to buff or alternate character functions unless they improve the quality or fix something that already breaks in base-game but I am interested in making the game harder
Also IIRC GSG wants anything that messes with progression rate (ie. “Make machine events and cargo boxes 100% chance to spawn”) sandbox

I try to launch a single mission, but it doesn't seem to work
also, the seed which I want to play has a "S4" at the end, meanwhile I have "S2" while in the space rig (the seed is on season 4, and so am I)
the mod seems to be working correctly for deep dives however
I don't think Mission Selector has been updated since GSG added the feature in DRG to choose what season you want to play on. Could be that functionality doesn't work. Have you tried replaying a seed from the current season to see if that works?

update: I launched some other season 3/4 exclusive mission (checked on dxp .net) and wrote down the seed
and the mod can't load it, so I guess that's how that works
update 2: this is kind of weird and unintuitive, and some longer seed sequences get replaced with 999999 it seems, but it worked for my purpose
now I got what I wanted, a 20 minute clip of me looking for nitra, but it's over 1GB
now to figure out how am I going to show this to the guy
Highly recommend this mod, you can save an infinite (or well close enough infinite) number of builds, and outfits, and pickaxes, and all 3 categories are independent from one another

I now the in game integration has a cap of 50 for MP but I don't know if you can have lobbies with potentially more mods if utilizing Mint. If I'm overthinking this please inform me as to not go down an insane rabbit hole for the next 3 hours. 👍

the end of mission screen endings and alike are usually used a lot to load stuff in the background etc tied to tons of game code etc

Might not be EXACTLY what you were pertaining to but there is a in game setting to set on or off the info screen during the start up
and I know during when the game is starting up and loading you can skip that process at some point just when you see it load up with the splash screen of the games logo start pressing right mouse or space and it should skip that phase and go start to click screen to start or whatever

not for the reasources
The description says that you have to complete the mission's main objectives for events to be displayed. It's supposed to help you realise if you had missed anything before returning at the end of a mission, rather than telling you right at the beginning what is there to be found in the cave.

well for me the punch mod works just fine, i could say maybe check you dont have any animation mods that could overrule the punch animation.
does it work on its own? like if you were to disable all mods and just run a solo game with the punch mod?
huh oddly enough using the punch and backhanded slap power attack mod do work together.

correction the bosco mod worked after i reset the game and tested and it worked fine also so im really not sure why it isnt working for you. id recommend to do i thing i do time to time where i clear out all my mods (unsubbing) verifying game files and getting mods again maybe some mod you have messed your game files i know after a while of getting mods and activating and deactivating them something breaks things for me.

custom difficulty 2 is not on mod.io so it requires an external mod loader called mint. once you have mint running, it is as simple to install as any other mod in mint

Technically, the answer is: You disable all of your sandbox mods, upon which the game will prompt you to load your last save from before you installed any sandbox mods.
I do have them disabled now. tried the reset/restore options, but it's still keeping the sandbox saves separate. making me wish I'd never used mods, just because I wanted to have jet boots

Mod categories are kinda meaningless with mint, as long as it's runningyoull have that tag regardless of if you just have a single verified audio mod or a hundred sandbox mods.

sometimes special powder might help, but not always
also depends which mission type it is
knowing how to power attack into a wall, cancel heavy object throws, catch heavy objects with grapple or SP, release and regrab heavy objects at high speed should all be tech that help in going fast
other than knowing tech, it's just about gamesense and generally being good at the game
and those things will come naturally

Hey, I've never used mods before and was wondering about something. I have a LAN party later this year with some old friends. They've played DRG a few times so know the basics but are probably around lvl 10-15 on their first unpromoted Dwarf. Is there a mod that will just unlock all/most stuff and offer a few premade load outs so we could try a few missions or maybe a Deep Dive as part of the LAN party? Likely on a separate save, I'd imagine
(And so that they can try the general power level of upgraded weapons & overclocks)
Save file editing is possible, but that sort of thing, especially within mods, is going to be restricted to sandbox, which mean unless you're using the mint side loader, it will be a separate save
are mods based on VRAM or RAM because when i spawn in turrets my computer crashes and goes black screen
sandbox utilities will force a sandbox save, but it has a cheat menu that can force unlock stuff and finish assignments and stuff

They fill the same purpose. I tend to get slightly better performance with UUI, and it also lets you favorite mods so they are always at the top of your list, which is very useful. its also searchable, and doesnt have any extra bloat. If you're not running mint, then I believe you cannot run just UUI, but even if you have to run both, I think it's much better
They seem to work just fine together at the moment, but some mods require ModHub so it can't be a replacement
Mods say they require modhub, but if you're running mint, you can get rid of it and be just fine
when a mod just disappears from the menu, does it mean its outdated?
The mod menu doesn't really know when a mod is actually broken/outdated, it tags it as such if it hasn't been specified for the current version, but there are plenty of mods that haven't been updated in years that still work perfectly.

Anyone has good suggestions for mods to help against griefers/trolls?
For example:
-Customizable ally outlines: helps because you can see outlines at all times so if a driller is drilling a long vertical tunnel to shove down all aquarqs and order resupplies down there, you can see them.
-Combined resources: To see if someone is hoarding all the secondary objectives or resources and is pretending they don't have it.
Any suggestion helps 🙂 as on modded lobbies it often gets more difficult and chaotic with the increased enemies so it's easy for griefers/trolls to act like children and make everyone else have a bad time

i think the far greater performance concern is going to be with enemies always
and more players without increased enemies doesn't really exist because that's boring to not shoot at anything, so i can't say how the performance impact exclusively from increasing player count is

The filter doesn't work because the unofficial modloader bypasses it, the [modded] tag youre seeing is just plain text as part of the server name people chose not to remove
The actual modded tag shows up as bright blue and does filter properly

maybe it would be possible to make a mod to parse the server names and detect specific strings and highlight the lobby, but I’m not sure how much of the server browsing functionality is available to be modified
I recall the original mint author saying that if it was technically possible for mint to put the actual modded tag then he would have used that instead of the janky text version that people don’t read half the time

Those are some of the mods I use, mostly quality of life stuff and customization which don't really affect the gameplay, these are all verified mods which have no significant impact in gameplay and you can use them in public lobbies.
huge respect for not including spam mining and spam depositing
space rig 17 after hours lets you customize how your space rig looks, I mostly use it for the lightning.
refinery pipe qol lets you set colors for each one of the pipes and also adds an indicator to where the pipe is currently broken but im pretty sure that can be disabled?

heres some others, minimal refinery hud is compatible with the refinery qol mod too, better explosion range indicators lets u customise how the explosion bubble looks and also tells you if it has the upgrade that makes it blow up on hit, as for the other ones, I find mortar round explosions cool but they block your view pretty easily, and as for the dread twins one, it's just if you can't really differentiate between arbalest and lacerator normally.
i'd recommend you to filter the mods in mod.io by "verified" mods and have a look at them
there's plenty of client side, qol, customisation, funny and other stuff for mods

there's a button on the top right (i think) that brings you to the modding menu which is now on the info screen
it was changed to be view-only in the space rig since it caused problems trying to hotswap mods

Sent a bug report to mod.io, meanwhile I have submitted a new config without those keybinds seeing as it breaks searching. Will be part of a hotfix

Verified you can use everywhere. Approved marks your lobbies as modded, and if they need other people to download them to work, it will also download them. Sandbox is not on the server list IIRC.
approved mods don't show on the list either, unless you have checked the option to see them.

Besides, if the devs wanted MINT to go away, they would have taken steps into that direction - which they haven't. Because they don't care and it's not even worth it either.
I can't speak for them, obviously, but I know them enough to know they don't mind MINT being around. The mod categories was trying to give something that would fit all kind of players: both the ones wanting the game to be easy to mod, and the ones wanting none of it.
It can be argued that the proposed solution doesn't work really well, which is usually what you get when you're trying to please two opposing sides at once.
I like mint becuase it lets me get away with installing local PAKs.
I don't use mint myself but it does have merit in many ways for people who heavily mod the game

mint is great in keeping the game alive
people can host modded lobbies for non modded players, and customizing the challenge and fun factors aids so much in replayability
if the devs are to ever break modding (in the non-normal sense) then it will kill the game for sure (post season 6)
not doubt it helps some players but I think you're overestimating how many people mod the game - and that's even less people using MINT too
which is probably why this wasn't included in the steam post - on top of being a non-official way to mod the game

This should be solved with a reboot. There was a bug (should be fixed in the next hotfix) where the live update doesn't update pending mods correctly to installed if it happens out of order

not really true? at the very least, they aren't intentionally avoiding that change
there's a pull request for it, and the only real reason its not in a new build is because there hasn't been any new builds in over a year
i cannot see it being intentionally avoided because its just an unequivocally awful thing. players that want better modding integration while using verified mods only are actively punished for doing so

i do hope a proper fork happens but i suspect anyone who has the ability to do that plays the game with mods that warrant the tag, and as such don't really have reason to care (which is fine)

@daring ferry Sorry for the ping, but I have one quick question: I see that the mod integration did change somewhat (maybe mods are loaded earlier?) because I can see some changes I have made in a mod on the title screen already, which wasn't the case before.
However, there is still one specific thing that remains broken: replacing fonts. I have a font file replacement specified in a mod of mine, but even after the modding system update, it doesn't work. Could this be fixed?
Yep mod loading is done in the info screen instead of the space rig since many mod issues were caused by hot reloading, so this fixes some issues that previously needed the entire game to be rebooted after installing certain mods
As for the font file, can you send me some steps and screenshots and I'll take a look at whats going on. (and to clarify, this didn't work previously and still doesn't work? I.e it's not something the new sdk version broke?)

Here is a screenshot of the fonts in the mod's file system (I believe this should be the correct name and location for the replacement). The only notable one is Carbon. I think the others are just leftovers or dependencies.

It has been a hot minute since I played DRG. I usually host with mods when I play with MINT. I wanted to play on a random lobby without me hosting but it got stuck not being able to load a profile and there was no way to exit other than Alt+F4. With the new change are we to now use the in-game version of hosting mods or does MINT still work fine.
Another thing is are we now to have two separate saves that have different progress.
I see this command but does this revert back to how things were normally before the need for a separate save. Does this still work normal along side MINT. So far seems like I can use my original file and I was able to still join regular lobbies without the sandbox warning or being asked to choose a save.

This doesn't feel like it should be intentional, but every time I quit/rejoin all my mods are inactivated. This isn't great for lower end PCs, since reloading mods takes some time
