It's called the Vampire perk and it's in the base game
no resups + red suger gives you all the HP you ever need anyway

i appear to be having an issue
where the game locks me into singleplayer when i enable any Approved mods
for reference, the only Approved mods i use are 5x Flashlight Range, Brighter Objects, and Personal Mini-Mules
any time i enable just one of them, the 'Seat Available' on my doesn't show up when the Space Rig Loads
and the Discord invite integration doesn't show up
the only way is for gsg to update the game and add in the code for saving to work in that version of the game.
would mods like these affect anyone else in my games or will it just be visible to me?

does anyone know of a mod that allows you to use any dwarves regal aegis on the other dwarves? I'd like drillers white and gold color scheme on gunner and no paintjob mod so far has given me that. Which is weird because I had a mod back in the day that did exactly that

if you're asking for UUI then no, you don't need modhub alongside it
ah yea thats what I meant, since modhub has bloat features i dont like on it.
tho some of my mods seem to have dependency on modhub but it still works fine in game.
yeah if you're using uui instead it'll show the missing dependency icon but it will work

You can set your mission to be friends only, its even possible to toggle it on and off during a mission in the pause menu (bottom left corner)
For example, you can have a team of just three (or two) dwarves by setting the mission to friends-only as soon as you hit the desired dwarf count
Whats the best mod for changing FoV on PC? I see one on mod.io called More FoV but it hasn't been updated in 3 years.
it works fine but you will have to deal with the gameās buggy modding system constantly auto disabling it for being outdated even when you specifically tell it to not disable it
Alternatively you can manually edit the field of view past the end of the slider.
Right click on the game in your steam library, select āmanageā then ābrowse files,ā and you should see a string similar to āC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\FSD\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor," open the file named "GameUserSettings" and search (control+f) for āfovā, change it and save and then launch game

I used to run a combo of those 3, which let me pretty much do literally anything with skins. I think the one you're looking for is Cosmetic Restriction Remover though. Not sure why the description says it's broken with S5 because I'm personally still using it without issues

How does modding interact with cross play? If at all
there is no crossplay afaik
but for pc users there are verified and approved mods
verified are purely cosmetic, approved change the gameplay and when player joins to that lobby, they automaticly download all approved mods

you can go to fan communities and join modding drg but it would be a commission almost no one would make requested mod for free

Why I do not display events? I downloaded the Display Events remade mod and at first everything was showing fine, but after a day I have nothing on the map. mod approved.
If you are using the verified version you have to finish the main objective before the events are shown on the hud

honestly everything is easy to see except sort of fossils already
playing with that mod though made them more obvious which was useful when I was a new player and couldn't easily sort mission-relevant things from decoration

I don't know about the entire cave, but you can make minerals and collectibles more visible with Brighter Objects
I know there are some that improve your flashlight, and others that give you more and stronger flares
You might also just want to mess with your graphics/monitor settings

as in hosting a server that you have enabled mods on, so that everyone can have access to the mods you installed
this is a given node before i paste it and after. the reference still seems to be there, so why does the audio file itself go missing from the player?
drg mint modding is better that way you can host without ppl having to download mods even if its approved or some required by all mods

there is also a deep scan qol mod for finding crystals easier if you need it
high ping netcode if you host high ping players join it will make the experience a bit better for them
chat resup is for ppl that don't have CD(Custom Difficulty)
miracle mod manager is a dependency for buyable missions
personally I love the Refinery Pipe QoL mod; it color-codes each of the pipes, shows you when a pipe segment is around the optimal length before placement (from 8 - 9 meters long), and shows you icons where the busted segments are during the pump sequence
for tracking teammates shield and ammo there are a few options:
- https://mod.io/g/drg/m/show-teammate-shield-above-healthbar just shows the shield, but you still have to press laser pointer to see ammo just like vanilla
- https://mod.io/g/drg/m/simple-player-ui has quite a few options but has a confusing settings page
- https://mod.io/g/drg/m/alternate-player-ui-pd2 can not only track teammate shield and ammo but also other stats like kills and number of resupplies taken. However it is very visually different from regular drg
- https://mod.io/g/drg/m/alternate-player-list-ui gives tons of info and has the most options but might be a bit ugly, can also make health and shield bar hover over teammate's heads
- https://mod.io/g/drg/m/player-nameplates also has a similar feature showing health and shield bars floating over people's heads, but I don't use it because it becomes very small when the players are far apart.
For highlighting teammates I use https://mod.io/g/drg/m/customizable-ally-outlines. Also something useful to have is https://mod.io/g/drg/m/death-marker

no it will load me into my room after i enable the mods but after a few seconds it crashes
remove the cigar see if that helps, if it doesnt uninstall all your mods and reinstall them one by one
and write down the ones you install in order
so we can figure out what is crashing your game
ok i successfully turned on every mod so far and was able to load into a mission up until more fov which made me crash. Then i turned it off and its still crashing

Instead of uninstalling your mods and reinstalling one by one, uninstall half of them, play for awhile. If you crash you know it's in the half you have installed. Repeat until you find it.

Im trying to do a bestiary video for my final major project at college and I chose to do it on DRG. In the sandbox utilities mod, is there any way to make the glyphids not move around so I can get footage of what they look like as I cant seem to make them still?
you can disable their AI, which makes them not move

I just want to know that if I apply a mod that only increases the max number of players that can join the lobby, will I need to actually have them subscribe and download the mod as well?
I ask this because I've joined a few servers before that ended up with like 8 or so players and I never saw anything pop up saying I needed to download or really do anything at all.
So I'm a little confused on how to proceed with it.
in general, only mods that are tagged "required by all" will need everyone who joins the lobby to have it.

@past cedar the best part is that you hear the sound even when another engie uses the shard diffractor so it's a pleasent surprise

It's been a while since I've used the built in mod loader, but as far as I remember, it's pretty eaay once you set up an account
They just click ok when they join your lobby
once you login with steam its better than steam workshop mostly the same thing
with more players the you may need to lower resup cost with another mod or get nitra multiplier
It can be a bit of friction to get randoms to join, but if you've just got a larger group of friends, it's fine
las time i played with more players pub i tried haz 5 praetorian edition was super fun

It allows you to use mods in the vanilla browser without everyone having to download the mod which is what you are experiencing when you join an 8 person lobby and dont get a notification to download anything. Alot of mods are tagged requiredbyall but are not actually required by everyone to function. Some are though so if you use other mods you'd need to experiment to make sure it's not actually required by everyone to function properly. Mods that add more players to the lobby work fine without everyone downloading it (obviously since you have already experienced it)

for your antivirus, it depends if you installed one or if you're just using windows defender. Windows defender can be accessed within the windows options too.

No particles wouldn't be a big breaking of moral standards I don't think, but not giving the game a chance in its raw form is a real shame.

Verified Mods will not be disabled when you join a server.
In effect, Verified Mods are only active for you and do not alter the gameplay of any other players.
there are approved mods that can be run on the server without the client needing them, it is entirely dependant on what functions are replicated.
the mods their friend is using are approved mods, that have been install unofficially. which is why they are unable to see the effects of the mod.

Hi, Im new to drg modding, and when me and my friend try to access the mod page on drg (for both of us) it just loads forever and doesn't pull up the terms of service page it says its fetching. I was looking it up, a bunch of other people had the same problem but for windows 7 (Im on windows 10) and it was something to do with "TLS 1.2" which from what I gather is an encryption standard. I also gather that TLS 1.2 should be enabled by default on all windows 10 machines. The posts are old, so my first assumption is that mod.io could have updated to a higher encryption standard but I'd like some advice before I go downloading and trying things. Any help would be appreciated

it depends on what kind of mods you're installing, you can read about the different categories of mods in the pinned messages but the short summary is: verified is optional, approved is required, sandbox is required and puts you on a different save, you can read further on what they mean in the pinned messages

Hello, I'm new to modding and stuff and I tried to download some mods today from the in-game modding tab and I subscribed to some mods and when I went back to the modding tab it just says "There are currently no mods installed. It can take up to a minute for newly subscribed mods to appear." and it's been loading for like an hour now. I'm not sure if I messed something up or it just doesn't work.

sometimes it helps to click on the mod page and then subscribe and also wait on that page after hitting the subscribe button for about a minute sometimes a little longer

Depends on the mods, unfortunately if a modio user is hosting and a mint user joins, the mint user has to manually add any mods tagged "required by all"
Not really a clean way to do it other than cross referencing mod lists
And if the mint user has required by all mods that the modio host doesn't, there can be other problems
oh thats why the host suddenly gets my mod while mine breaks
Certain things are dictated by the host's game, some are left to the client, it's a bit of a spaghetti mess bc the devs understandably only planned for the official modio integration

They're probably gone, because they are stored with the game data, and not in a place where Windows would back things up when it does a recovery.
but something to check... Open Steam > Right-click Deep Rock Galactic in games list > Properties > Installed Files > Browse
That will open up a File Explorer window. Go into this folder:
FSD > Saved
Do you see save files there?

yeah only my presets are gone. all my actual saved progress in the game is there
OK. Combined Presets stores its config data in a few folders in FSD/Saved/SaveGames/Mods/ where the game is installed, so if Windows wiped that and you didn't have a backup of that folder (which most people don't) you are probably out of luck. š¦
I think the folders where it stores its config data are:
Mods/EquipmentPresets
Mods/VanityPresets
Mods/WeaponPresets
So when you make them again, you can back up those folders somewhere for safe keeping

If you're handy/comfortable with copying files, I have a bunch of common builds in my weapon / equipment presets at least that might save you some time, I could share my save data. Feel free to DM me (it's like 2-3 tiny data files)
(Would be cool someday if that mod had a way to share builds by like pasting a text file or something)

Requesting again that someone pick up and maintain some of Miracle's/assembly's mods that are abandoned ever since the community drove them out. I use Custom Soundtrack (something I asked for a lot and only Miraculon decided to try to implement), Better Post Processing, Advanced Darkness, Build Inspector, and Better Modding Menu, all of which are very nice QoL.
a couple mods i use (autosprint, pickaxe cancel) tend to stop working once i've been revived ā is this a known issue? if not, is there a log i can look at to diagnose it?

heyo i need some help, this is my modlist and Game/Engine.ini changes
after about 8 people join my lobby
some people try to join then either crash or are in the void and dont even appear on my player list
sometimes some people just shadow disconect into the void too, where they are still technically in the lobby, but their name disspears from the playerlist and they can still talk and take a player slot
its not a gaurteened thing, i would say its about a 5% chance of it happening to someone
but with 24 people coming in and out, it happens to 1-2 people every game
i didnt have this issue before the easter event

it's a bit convoluted, but if you really wanted carriable gems in the rig the only way i know how is to use the take me home mod
i don't know of any mods that just spawn carriable gems otherwise
can spawn a bunch of gems in a mission, stuff them in the drop pod when extracting then you have them in the rig pod

When I'm communicating distance I never eyeball it but use the terrain scanner to measure on the spot. Besides, other players expect you to use metres by default.

Project Rebuild: a few personal findings about my most commonly used weapons (Not complete in any way)
- The Colette Wave Cooker: This is useful, as the drastically increased fire rates and ammunition allow it to have greater battlefield sustainability; the damn thing overheats real quick; the heatsink mod is useless and the cooling mod has been buffed in this version of the mod.
- The LOK1 Smart Rifle; personally on my solo runs I use the Swarmfire Mechanism overclock (reworked Neuro-Lasso); you gain locks faster and fire them off quicker, but the strain on the system makes it so you can't hold the locks for long periods. I use an ammo-focused build as the enemies are relentless in their attacks and any ammo you can get you need.
- The Thunderhead Heavy Autocannon: This uses reworked Mortar Rounds which is now Kinetic Penetrators; it drastically increases the direct damage, but you don't get any area damage. You also get better armour-breaking capability, at the cost of reaching your maximum fire rate slower.
4: The Jury Rigged Boomstick: This is basically a more powerful variant of its vanilla counterpart; no surprises here. I use the AP+ Buckshot overclock which makes it so the shells are hard to reload with but break armour like it wasn't even there.
The Participation Award goes to the Boltshark; it needed love and got a quarter of what it was owed. Yes, you get more damage, but it's not really useful, given that you now have less ammo achievable than vanilla. That concludes my personal opinions on Project Rebuild weapons, thanks for your time.

4.5.1 and 5.whatever from the Epic Store are causing problems on my end; as every new project comes with a massive landscape that causes the laptop to stop responding to all input except holding down the power button to force-shutdown. (the buttons to turn up or down the keyboard lights don't even respond).

you can't un-sandbox a sandbox save, that's the whole point of sandbox mods

I'm so confused.
Any mods for the performance passes? Theyres just so much and I dont want to have to grind so much for the items. It's all free stuff but I dont have the time to go thru them normally. I just wanna drip out my dwarves
theres probably some approved mods to make it so you always have the double seasonal reward item, but as a general rule, anything that affects progression is sandbox, and with the default modio integration, that requires a separate save
It returned you to your previous save, so you don't have any progress you've made on the sandbox save.
Enabling sandbox mods again will switch you to the sandbox save again.

I still have the weapon I earned while the mods were on, so I didn't lose any progress. I still have my stuff.

That sounds strange. Are you sure you were using a sandbox mod while unlocking those?
Generally, the way it works is when you enable a sandbox mod, the game will prompt you to switch to a sandbox save. If you don't have one yet, you have the ability to make a copy of your main save and use it as a sandbox one.
The moment you stop using any sandbox mods, the game will prompt you to switch back to your normal save where you never made any of the progress you did on your sandbox save in the first place.

When I asked if turning off my mods would let me earn cheevos again, I was told in this server that cheevos were disabled because I was using sandbox mods ā so I assumed that I was using sandbox mods, since that was the only type of mod to disable cheevos from what I was told.
But then when I asked how to unsandbox my save, I was told I couldn't; but before I got said response, I was bored, so I turned of all my mods to see if that would unsandbox me, and I was able to earn achievements againā¦
So I have no idea what's going onā¦
As for a third party mod loader ā do you mean the Mod Hub? Because that's a dependancy of at least one of my other mods.
You seem to have a misunderstanding about how approval categories work using the in game mod integration. Have you read the pinned message about approval categories?

That doesn't really help when I don't know what mods are in what category.
Someone told me that I wasn't getting cheevos because I was using sandbox mods. So that's what I assumed I was using.
If I wasn't using sandbox mods, then I don't know why I wasn't earning cheevos. No one said there was any other reason for cheevos not being earned, so I don't know any other reason they wouldn't be.
This whole thing was because I just wanted to be able to earn cheevos again.
I can earn cheevos again, so that problem is solved for now.
That doesn't really help when I don't know what mods are in what category.
Yes it does. Every mod is tagged as such (verified/approved/sandbox) both in mod.io and in the mod menu ingame.
And if you had read the FAQ correctly, you would also know that approved mods disable achievements while active, but you can turn those off (unlike sandbox mods).

Everyone seems to forget the most essential verified mod, "Actual sound for cave leech movement" that basically replaces Heightened Senses for free and is client only without any "modded" approved limitations.

Highly unlikely anybody will be able to tell you which mod it is. Like the other guy said your best bet is to disable your mods one by one or half by half if you have alot until you find which one is the issue.

it's case by case, i know build inspector is still working fine though
outdated just means the author never manually tagged it as updated for the most recent patch
I use quite a bit of outdated mods - like gago has typed, it should be reviewed case by case
Generally just expect that some things may not work or cause issues
You can look in the comments, that's usually a good indicator. If it's just people asking for the mod to be updated, it's usually fine, if they're saying its broken, maybe not.
I still use some funny outdated mods like neco arc cave leech lmao

Hey uhh, does anyone know a fix for modded runs crashing the game the moment you shoot an enemy?
I've done everything to narrow things down to see if it was specific mod, but for some god forsakened reason its all mods that crash my game
even a single up to date verified mod is enough to cause a crash the moment I shoot a single glyphid
only time it doesn't crash is if I run full vanilla, so I'm completely stumped what the cause is
Uninstall/reinstall the game, verify file integrity
I've had that sort of crashing behavior with a few mods (they were verified)
Damage numbers and some particle removers if I remember right
Right, managed to narrow it down and it was the Damage Numbers mod
though I got no clue how its crashes carried over to the other mods, but the uninstall + verify fixed that weird issue too

Don't use Damage Text. It compares HP every frame, which could lead to performance issues when there are lots of enemies at once.
Use the mod below instead.

There is a sandbox mod called resource customizer that can do that but it will cause client desync
There is also a sandbox version of display events that shows the icons on mission start

For others yea they won't see the same resources. Mineral replication hasn't been figured out in such a way to allow a host only mod like that

You can google DRG Mint to learn more about it. You'll want to use that if you want people to join your modded lobbies. Otherwise you will always have a hard time

What approved mods are you using?
If a mod is marked requiredbyall on modio then it might not work with Mint. Some mods are marked requiredbyall and aren't actually required by everyone to function. For example more players balanced is marked requiredbyall but you can use it with Mint fine. MCR is also marked requiredbyall but will cause the issues you are seeing now if you try to use it with Mint since it adds assets that don't exist in the vanilla game
Maybe check the approved mods on modio. Read the comments on the mod and check if it is tagged requiredbyall. Usually a good indicator of whether it can be host only or not

because sometimes people join and still get 80 resup cost, despite it being less

Depends how you want to do it, some hard diffs add new enemies with dangerous modifiers, some scale up the stats and quantity of enemies, with a bit more variety. Hardest version of that second approach is probably something like final destination, here's a vid of an attempt
