I think i might know why, might have 2 seperate directories for DRG due to previous install in a different location
So i got my game on a D drive, but my config and cache files are in the C drive, is that the norm? not 100% because I might have had a previous install and after changing directories its still not fixed itself

what's are the differences between haz 5a and 6x2
New to drg modding and I love the custom difficulty one in particular.
Is it possible to go about it and ONLY have a map with stationary monsters?
Short answer: 5a has stronger individual bugs and it's easier to randomly die in combat. 6x2 has weaker individual bugs and generally allows you to take less meta weapons and withstand a few hits, while it has more bugs, more special/disruptive/dangerous bugs, more stationary enemies (spitballers etc), and much more frequent swarms forcing you to push forward into all those things. Also they actually put some thought into balancing 6x2 so for example Doretta doesn't instantly die from 1 second of being shot by a menace.

oh my comment got deleted on #modding-approval-discussion, but i mentioned shot cancelling were already possible on the pump action, platform gun and flare gun (some players consider it a bug, not sure about devs' perspective)

equipping a weapon or tool takes .5s, so im almost sure pump action is limited to that if you do it with or without a mod (i can or close? without, just maybe on 60% 90% with some practice of my shots) in my experience
Afaik animation canceling was specifically enabled by the devs and is done on purpose. They had to modfy their animations to support it.
not for or against the mod at least, but think it's at least important to include (and if it's considered exploitative)
You are still bound to the same amount of ammo and mag/clip size as everyone else. Having faster fire rate than the general population is supported with intended animation canceling opportunities and only results in the same goal, at the same cost, but somewhat faster for those who can pull it off.
I personally see that mod as accessibility for those who cannot do macros, have hand disabilities or some other reason why they cannot perform actions like that regularly, or if at all.

I can see it being an unfair advantage if there were actual DPS checks in the game that would wipe the team if not met, or some sort of downside for the team member killing things faster since the lack of PvP.
It pretty much always comes down to team positioning if something goes wrong. If you kill a Praetorian in 3s instead of 5s it usually doesn't affect the team unless you are standing still and not kiting or dodging.
I'd rather not see it go into segregated purgatory where no one joins your lobby when others can get fairly similar results using macros and such without being punished.

Heya guys need some help getting my mint mods to work and wondered if you can help me.
So I get the "Modding has been disabled by a launch option window" and infinite loading for "Fetch Terms of Use from mod.io for the when I try to open the modding menu.
Ill add that its obvious that some (maybe most) of the mods are working when I play the game but cant really enter any of the settings since the mods tab is blocked
Also the game seems to work fine and I can use the ingame mod loader when mint mods is disabled and I can use mods with the ingame mod loader, however IIRC they are stopping the support for the ingame mod launcher.
Now for some info and stuff I tried: Using Win10, Mint loader, new-ish player and never used mods before. I made sure to verify my mod.io account and both link it from the site to my steam and from inside the game to the site, tried multiple times running on different versions of the game, tried deleting the mod.io files on my pc tried adding and removing -disable addons
tried disabling mint and re-enabling it, tried restarting pc, reinstalling game, making new Auth token and applying it, tried waiting 10 min for the load to complete (dont mind waiting more but I dont think thats the issue), tried installing 2 mods and running incase a specific mod is the problem
didnt try any firewall stuff because im not sure what to check there but I dont usually mess around with my firewall settings so ill be surprised if its that.
the modding tab is supposed to not work when using mint, you should have modhud and or unified ui installed and you can use those ingame to change mod settings
how come everyone says to download modhub and drglib before installing other mods?
many mods use those as dependencies
what does it take for a mod to qualify for "auto-verified"?
im considering going back to base mod integration so i can leverage mod sync (mint never had it implemente)
and making mod packs consisting of various auto-verified might make this return to integrated modding a little less bad for those who really care about mod sync (highly beneficial when it comes to weapon overhaul mods)
i wonder if installing modhub initially before you install your list is how you go about installing UUI and using that instead of modhub
i just used A-Better-Modding-Menu to copy paste my list then hit install and drglib and modhub automatically showed up

so the mods that do that are all going to be sandbox mods, which means a separate sandbox save. unless you use mint

Yes, they do, so long as your save is not sandbox.

Is there a client-side Mod that puts Tap-fire locks on Charge/Long-hold weapons?
- Like for the EPC I can tap fire it for the normal shot, briefly hold down to initiate the charge, but when I let go after the hold it continues charging. Then I can tap again to release the charge (before it overheats). Or with the Minigun, I can tap once to start the spin up/shooting, then tap again to stop it when I want.

i was using and suspected quick reload was messing up my micro* when bhopping with heavy objects, could be that? (not using it anymore)

The most you can do is set your active season to something other than S05 – that should make that season's events more rare, as long as you're the host

Yeah, unfortunately removing stalkers is impossible without those mods
Try to listen to their audio cues. It's a high-pitched droning. I usually try to stop everything I'm doing and focus on finding the stalker. Even while ‘invisible,’ you can spot them crawling around on the walls as a transparent, blue disturbance.
you can just play normally after installing your mods from mint, the ingame modding menu will be disabled when using mint, shouldve installed modhud and or unified UI, you can use those to mess with mod settings in game

You can toggle the changes on and off for each biome and monster so I don't think it's unfinished

hi, how reliable is the fast forging mod? the comments under it seem rather negative
there's two versions. The current usable one is good for forging a lot of OCs in a row but it tends to bug out on other part of the game, so it's personally not something I would leave active at all times.
I only want it to mass forge all my cosmetics and never use it again

I have quite a problem with modding. I had a pause from drg, before the pause all my mods were working fine, even the outdated ones. Today when I loaded into the game all my mods redownloaded for whatever reason. SO I just enabled those i had enabled again. (only the updated ones) But now whenever I want to boot up drg, it crashes, "pak file was frozen" and when I restart all my mods install all over again. What causes this and how can I fix it?

we made a custom difficulty and named it P difficulty
it's made on a haz6x2ex base with way more enemy speed, removal of slashers (read enemy speed), and less enemy damage
If you mean the missing portrait in the bottom-left, then none. They just have Options -> UI -> Player Icon, Name and Class set to Off

Hey anyone got a mod that changes explosion sounds like grenades? i found one that changes every explsion sound but the YouTube demo the sounds aren't to my liking.

anyone experienced with Custom Difficulty here? i want to make a twistful difficulty, the main premise being that there is little to no active spawning but the initial cave is loaded with stationary enemies like brood nexuses, infectors, nemesis', cave leeches etc, so you basically "conquer" the cave. weaker enemies like grunts wouldnt spawn, only guards and slashers. which values am i looking to change here?

this mod allows you to change the looks of lootbugs, could probably be used to make them much more visible but requires more work on your part

Hi, I have a difficulty downloanding mods, everytime i try to install something, it just dosent downloand at all.I tried changing mod.io accounts, reinstalling the game, deleting folders and many other similar things.From what i discovered on steam discussions people have been experiencing similar issues and were saying its a https request getting eaten out of the blue and the only solution that they could come up with was the following:
"The only way around this issue is, unfortunately, asking a good friend to pack their already downloaded mods from C:\Users\Public\mod.io and having proper json entries in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\mod.io; they might be with your friends' data, it doesn't matter as it won't connect anyway, it just has to exist and be formated properly..."

Hello friends! I've been away from the game for a while and am getting back into it for the Yuletide event. All my mods are out of date and I learned that DRG mods are on Nexus now. Am I supposed to use Nexus for my mods going forward or is mod.io still being updated?

mod io is still the main platform and the modding system has not changed at all, except that some big creators quit the modding scene

I think you got it reversed. Previously, nexusmods was the main source of mods prior to making an official method. Now, mod.io is the official source.

DRG Modding had a bot and database of mods, that was the main source until mod.io came along. There were a few mods on nexus beforehand but the majority were part of the DRGM discord.

probably better to start a normal mission and then use sandbox mod to delete bugs and refill ammo
sandbox mod interface shows up in mod hub once you install it, and the basics of the interface are pretty straightforward. there’s a tab with buttons including resupply and kill all bugs
You could also spawn dirt in the sandbox but the interface to do that is more confusing
personally I just learned epc mining by doing it in missions
you shouldn't have to reactivate the mods every time you open the game, but it happens sometimes
the biggest tip I have for the actual technique of epc mining is to move so that you are shooting along the wall, not at the wall. this allows your timing to be more lenient since the charged shot won’t pop against the wall if you’re barely too late with the popping shot.

When it comes to achievement unlocks for APPROVED mods, what achievements can be using them? I know from experience that the promotion achievements can be acquired but mission-based ones cannot i dont think.
I'm using MCR
all the achivements are locked when using approved mods.
Anything tied to permanent increases such as player level stuff will be unlocked after approved mods are disabled. Otherwise, effectively nothing else.
what about stuff that is visibly tracked such as mission completions?

I think that anything that only ever increases in the save game should carry over, but the achievement won't proc until you increase it again. So say if you found 6 bittergems (5 for achievement), it would not unlock when going back into normal mode until you deposit another bittergem.
But achievements that unlock from contextual mission actions like Car Pool would not.

theres also somewhere in the files where it stores your settings so you could set the fov manually

Hey, i've been having a crash issue when trying to use a new mod, and I'm not sure if it's clashing with any of my other mods or if it is just not compatible anymore.
the mod isn't up to date, so it's causing crashes
but i run other Out of Date moda that don't have any crash issues

all the characters are extremely important though, though i think there's a pretty strong argument to be made for gunner being the most vital character the higher you move up in difficulty

It is probably not purposefully breaking bosco, just go through one by one to see what mod breaks it. Sometimes I get bugs with mods so I just don’t have flares, who knows why when it’s never related but it’s just trial and error.

Hello. I run games with More Players Balanced for a group of friends, which results in lobbies of 5~8 dwarves. Is there any recommended way to reasonably scale up the difficulty for large groups of players?
I'm aware the mod itself has a feature to scale things up, but the power spike extra dwarves give is so massive that the difference is meaningless. Even h5a with bug scaling for double the player amount is something that becomes trivial with +6 players of reasonable skill.

Because we kind of prefer not having anyone feel left out of a game. I don't enjoy it but it is what it is.
I have not heard of any good solution for the problem you describe. As you said, the extra dwarves give so much extra power. Any difficulty hard enough to still challenge the team tends to be not very fun because each individual dwarf tends to just die to bullshit.

i use mods on the microsoft store version of DRG and some mods only work for me and not other players and im wondering what type of mods let the host install and clients can see them, for example spawn menu works and xbox players can see goo bomber fire but other mods that are not listed as requiredbyall are not showing up for xbox players
what mod do you want for them to see?
slightly better Traversal is requiredbyall but it works for certain classes with xbox players, like engi can make a better platform but driller doesnt work for other classes
im guessing its a compatibility issue?

there are 4 other people with similar experiences just scrolling a little up so i would say my correct words still stand
a handful people on a discord hardly represent the majority though so that's making a wild leap in assumptions
quirky seems to be definitely more accurate than nonfunctional
my original statement would be the modding integration can be bad and nonfunctional at times
Personally, I haven't had any major issues apart from all my mods getting deactivated once in a blue moon (can be annoying, but quick to fix and pretty rare), and some of the files being unable to be overwritten by mods (like fonts)

i use the (pretty old) latest release and it works fine, but there are newer forks or you can build the unreleased newer "real" version if you have rust

As a crude workaround, you can use sandbox utilities to rotate the missions until you find a mineral mania mission. I think the 2xp makes your lobby most attractive tho

there should be no desync or anything, people in the server browser just won't be able to see what mission type you're on

When I collect an item, it keeps appearing as if it hasn't been collected (those secondary quest items). I noticed this doesn't happen to the host of my game, only to me. When I am the host, the problem only happens to other players, not to me. Does anyone know what this could be?

Nope, I want to know how many shield charges I have left as gunner. Like how all the weapons have an ammo counter on the actual model, but the shield generator does not.
I turn off as much of the hud as I can because I like having as little of my screen covered with redundant information as possible. But hte shield generator doesn't have that information.

Yes that one can show shield charges as the class tool ammo and can also show shield remaining uptime/charge time as the class tool magazine
why do mods always fuck with space rig equipment? i only have crosshair heat mod and can't see my characters in equipment section anymore
now after game restart the beard is flapping around like crazy

I dont think that is the mod, I think drg is just inconsistent
although drg handles mods strangely
most of the time if a mod isn't working, it just disable flares
dont know why, but that's how I know something is broken
i have never experienced that beard jitter without mods
and every single time with mods
IIRC the issue is tied to mods but also to Vsync/FPS limit
maybe you can fix it by tinkering with those
any mods with ingame integration will cause beard jittering in terminals

hey so i'm having a weird issue i haven't managed to find a fix for. my mods disappeared from my mod list recently, possibly after I played on another PC recently, and now I can't get them to come back.
i'm still subbed to those mods on mod.io and can even sub and download new mods, but i can't redownload the mods i previously used.

just do any sort of prayer before you open the modding tab every time
or you could probably like make a new folder on your desktop and permanently delete it before you launch the game as a sacrifice for the modding tab to work
