hey guys, how's the no ragdolls mod?
comments seem to highlight some bugs with it, and the fact that it's jarring. I'm debating if it's worth it for performance gains
it is a pretty massive performance gain if you're playing on anything with lots of enemies
i've been using it so long i don't notice the no ragdolls part personally, and it works fine in most cases
if there's a very massive amount of enemies or high ping occasionally ragdolls will appear but disappear fast

all that's leftover for me now is to get humble and tune down a few graphic options

while ragdolls are very funny, enough corpses lying around makes it a bit hard to tell where new enemies are moving in

you can use this however, since it is an approved mod, you wont be able to play with other users online unless they also have the mod installed so keep that in mind.

Approved mods are ones that change things enough for everyone that you get alerted when a server has them. Some approved mods are optional (meaning only the host needs them) or are RequiredByAll (meaning... Well what it says on the tin)

does anyone can help me with this? How does "Chain Groups" actualy work? It says it spawns an other group by name. So in this example-screenshot here it would spawn the "Extra spawns". But does this group has to be in the same reward? If so, it would also always spawn the group by default if someone redeems the reward, right?

from my experience even gunner with aimbot will not benefit much unless he is borderline unable to move mouse
soft aimbotting is a bit more viable but it messes up movement and in horde game its just bound to have issues with target selection
wallhacks are nice tho, makes coil feel amazing
xray for minerals would be busted tho thats for sure
but too busted to the point of boredom
tldr: wallhacks for coil are the only fun way of cheating

Yeah, I hate it when people cheat by using overheat crosshairs. Suffer with not knowing when your gun won’t work like the rest of us.
tbh i think the overheat-circle around the crosshair is rather a hindrance the actually helping. Most likely you wanna see the area near around where you are aiming without anything obstructing your view.
you can configure it to be thinner, if you think it's that much of a problem
you can also make it less opaque
finally managed to get a stable 60 fps throughout 99% of the game thanks to mods 🙏
stress test used to be doretta mission. this week's EDD changed that, however
now, the 2nd stage of the EDD is my stress test
got the classics to boost perfomance (no flares, no decals, no clutter, no ragdolls, no particles only from weapons)
got somewhat humble with my graphics settings too
if EDD 2nd stage is still lagging - gonna try out tomorrow - I might get humbler with graphics settings. or maybe go back to Real no particles mod 🥲
i saw a mod the other day that said it could possibly stall the drop dop on the way out at the end of a mission and you would need to reboot it. i forgot the name of the mod and wondered if anyone else came across it \

Stalled Engine warning, albeit there is no reboot system.

not really sure if those mods you mentioned are actually there, but inf ammo ones are the most annoying, spo damn fun when driller with infinite ammo just sits ina bunker for 20 minutes instead of just losing kek. Also those custom ocs that clear 6x2 swarms in one mag are so "fun"

well its always either devs have too much settings ignored in in-game menu or they have literal walls of them (vermintide comes to mind)
I've seen some games with info on the side of whatever graphical setting you were messing with like "this is just some fluff you'll notice occasionally and disabling it will have huge/small impact on your performance"
DRG has been a lot of trial and error for me
google if you want detailed description but its net stuff that should be giving some performance

I made several systems for MCR to toggle non important debris in real time so veins and rockpox boils are still visible and can be toggled with a chat command. I also changed lithofoamer puddles to use a static mesh that is similar so it doesnt disappear if particles are disabled.

No, Massive Content Revise - particularly the test branch as that has the most improvements. It also has a bunch of significant performance boosts too with pretty much 0 fidelity loss. It doubled my FPS on my old PC and people who played on LEV's config and still had 25ish FPS started getting up to 60, lol.

I am VERY interested in a mod that does this: "Refinery Missions - 2x longer time to refine, 2x time to construct and repair pipe segments, pipes break down at random intervals (between 5 to 115 secs) and up to 8 segments at a time".

well refinery missions usually feature bs like digging through 4 caves just to connect 1 pipe to a well or complex mountain climbing with pipes

I have a problem with audio mods. If I enable mods that change audio in the game, it just removes entirely from the game (besides jukebox, it works fine). Aslo I use drg mod integration for mods
the mods that had problems are pizza tower music replacement, space rig 5th anniversary music and pizza tower shotgun sfx for boomstick

Weird question, is there a mod for arachnophobia sensitive people? I say this because a friend of mine really loves the game but the glyhphids tend to trip up her aranchnophobia and I wanted it be the best experience it can be for her.

Well, the things they broke recently are now up to date for their standards, so they likely won't rework them again. I don't think much else can break majorly. And yeah, I usually get fixes made before the updates are public but that only goes into the test build for now.

I've done so much to improve the stability and experience of multiplayer and whatnot and reworked so many assets to use improved techniques that I learned. Developed a lot of new systems to make adding things much easier and lots of new content and a rediculous amount of bug fixing. It's an absolutely massive improvement to the current main build, but there are still some things that broke with the vanilla update that I am still trying to get working before I update the main build because it feels odd to push out something with a whole mission type broken.
I got the black screens / softlocks fixed, major desync fixed in all circumstances so it works very well for first time downloaders, most of the random booting out of the match is fixed, a lot of crashes fixed, made a custom progression system for assignments since that is desynced even in vanilla, etc.
was holding myself from asking this for quite a while but what makes you continue modding constantly for so long without any real return, like stuff you do is made for good salary while you just do it for free and with more effort than could be asked for

so, in order of how much it affected my fps, I'll list what worked for me to get a stable 60 fps throughout the entire game

first, this. this stuff is all a must-have, foliage crap and view distance crap are insanely helpful. decal doesn't help a ton but does help

bonus, I also got a mod that disables flares from rendering. it helps a lil bit. not as much as ragdolls or particles, but it helps
drawback of the foliage bit: invisible goo in fungus bogs. invisible stuff that you can interact with. the no clutter mod is almost this, but less extreme (I ended up favoring it in the end, due to getting blocked when walking/grappling hook invisible things I didn't intend to)

Spawn Frequency:
- Announced swarms interval: 1.20x
- Unannounced swarms interval: 0.80x
- First swarm delay: 0.50x
Swarm Composition:
- Slashers/Guards/Tri-jaws/Brundles: 0.70x

Enemies are less in amount and variation but faster, tougher and much more deadly - now a disruptive or special enemy, can pose a great threat if not dispached relatively-quickly! Also make sure to prepare for the first swarm as quick as you can, because it comes at you faster than usual...

That's kind of the point of my SC preset - make preparation and picking the right tools more emphasized
Testing version is different than normal and actually functions. There is a setting in MCR called Death Mode that is likely what you want.
This is a partial standalone of Death Mode, the main difference being that Death Mode also allows more enemies to attack you at once instead of a handful around you. This makes swarms much more deadly.
This is not at all what I am looking for - hence why I decreased the enemy spawn size. But thank you for the suggestion.
I felt that there were too many enemies, so you didn't really have time to think, but just shoot mindlessly and run, until everything is dead. I wanted a challenge that could result in me needing to run, but rewarded preparation better - hence why I increased the speed and health of enemies
It's less about the quantity and more about the quality
it is much harder to deal with 15 grunts that are faster than you, deal 15% of your HP and have long ttk, than dealing with 80 grunts that are outran by a snail (vanilla grunts)
That's what the other portion of death mode is, making more standard amount of enemies able to attack you at once

Nope, it just allows all enemies that are close to you to be able to hit you instead of standing around while a few others are attacking

Hard-coded cap of enemies targeting you is 32 for melee type enemies, this raises it so up to 300 something can target you.
The other half is making it so that all of them can hit you if they are close enough instead of just a handful.
There's basically a safety net of i frames by the game capping enemies hitting you at once to around 2-4.

So it'd work for reduced enemy counts, instead of 2-4 able to hit you it can be all of them.

The "threat detection" system from LobCorp that adjusts the music based on how badly things are out of control would be an AWESOME addition to DRG. Sure, we get changing tracks when Swarms start, but imagine a system that changes tracks based on more factors than that. Haz Level, Modifiers, Enemies in play (including special enemies), Dwarf equipment, health, downed teammates, heck even Ammo / Nitra reserves could be thrown in to calculate how screwed a squad is.
Then we could have the same experience that Lobotomy Corporation gives me - to know that when the music shifts, it's time for pure adrenaline
Question is, is the data required to make these calculations even accessible for a mod and do we have anyone here on the discord who would be willing to build such a mod 🥺

even score point system for each enemy to trigger next phase of music is not even close to perfect solution

simply because you can have easiest time of your life with 3 bulks and whole screen of bugs behind you just because you can kite properly and blow one of the bulks up for chain reaction
so music goes into intense phase for lets say a minute while you kite around and stuff
and then boom, horde is gone

Download custom difficulty. It does basically does the haz levels, resupply costs, and enemy caps all at the same time. You just have to copy and pace the code for each difficulty from the git hub

@heady sleet Modded difficulties like 6x2 do require a lot of aoe but single target is often just as important. Imo Modded devours specialized builds favors versatile ones. For example minigun is actually considered amazing on modded difficulties and autocannon pretty widely regarded as the worst gunner primary

You are free to do whatever you want with your saves. But the details of how you can achieve that are not gonna be found within this discord.

Is there a way or mod to remove that annoying 'count down' beeping sound at the end of missions? Can anyone point me to that audio file? I can replace it with a muted silent version myself if it's that simple.
Googling didn't yield many results, as it's just tons of greenbeards asking about the beeping emitted by lost helmets, cargo crate batteries, Bet-C and such.
I've been playing DRG for a couple years now and while it doesn't always bother me, I really am tired of hearing it. It's also a funny noise to play at all, as it's the END of the mission but it's like a countdown timer. I know it plays once the 'Continue' button has been clicked, but it's unnecessarily loud and irritating.
I actually was trying to introduce a friend to the game and that was one of the first things he noticed and asked what the horrible beeping sound was on the mission completed screen 😅

Because the Microsoft version of DRG just ain't built with mod support. No mods on consoles and Microsoft store version for PC. Only steam version has mod support
Although I think it may be possible to mod Microsoft store version on PC by manually placing the files, but even then I doubt it would work with any of the mods we have, it would have to be made compatible for whatever code differences there are
