theres a few mods i got from joining other players that dont pop up in the manage mods menu, how do i get rid of these shits? ive had them stuck on my modding tab for months, they are by some guy named brewbreuw. they arent in my subscribed tab on mod.io and when i search his name on mod.io all of his mods are privated
therefore i cant remove them

They don't show up on your library page? Maybe you're not subscribed to them and they're stuck downloaded locally, try deleting your modio files within the Public folder.
The problem is that they are subscribed to it and normal users cannot view hidden mods to unsubscribe without direct links afaik.
Sent them links already though and it worked.
Thelegopanda just said they could see a private mod on the library page on the new site, so I assumed that would work again here.

Honestly most mods are pretty tame, radar mod has gotten better recently, but dunno if better = good. Mods that increase light are likely to result in more resource consumption, but that’s just how light is handled.
That's because people don't know like any of the options for lighting.

Or just disable "use inverse squared falloff" and reduce "light falloff exponent" to 1, set intensity to 5-10, disable "static shadows" for blurred shadows instead of sharp and disable "cast shadows" if you don't care about light bleeding.

i had an idea for a mod but I just want to know if that is even possible. So, you start the mission at haz 5 with no modifiers. Every 1 minute, the game changes the modifier but doesn't tell you what it changed to. only modifiers that increase the difficulty of the game. is this even possible?

so my friend and I are trying mods for the first time, we have swarm size control installed as the only mod but whenever we try to join one another, the join button on the modded server screen is greyed out for seemingly no reason despite us both having the same mod updated to the same version. Mods can be a little broken right now - it's being worked on by the devs. Try having the person joining the lobby unsubscribe from the mod, join the lobby, and click one of the red hexagon icons on the dependency screen.

Hi! I have a friend that can't join my modded lobby. Both of us have the same mods currently installed and applied, but when he tries to join, the game has the pop up: "hey, this is a modded server" and the join button is still greyed out even tho all mods have the green checkmark next to them meaning they're installed

So when my friend and I play with mods, all installed properly with restarts after installing and everything.
When we get downed, we get the "downed screen" but we're not actually down. Just at 0 HP until we grab some sugar.
The mods have worked perfectly for me in solo, so I'm wondering if there's any known mods that causes this issue in multiplayer?
Already tried to remove the perk, Iron will, since that's what makes you be able to make a last stand (thought it might be interfering) but with no luck.
Try unsubbing to the approved mods the host is running and then connecting. The icons should be red hexagons, click on one of them and it should hopefully let you click join.

Anyone know if my issue is related to the current state of modded stuff? Whenever other people join my modded lobbies, (with mission content randomizer among others but I'm predicting this is the issue) they get a different world than I have. Different theme, different layout, but i think same missions? idk. But this causes them to almost always fall through the floor and they look glitched in the floor on my screen too. So I don't mod my game, but I don't mind joining the occasional modded lobby. However, often times after I do so those mods I got for the random game will randomly activate later and make my game modded until I go in and turn them off and restart the lobby. Is there anything I can do to make this not happen?

Yes, it is possible.
One of mine for example increases the damage you take the longer you are in a mission. Not the same but adding modifiers in an existing lobby is definitely possible and would be easy for me to implement but I am not sure that I want to with what I currently have.

Did you uninstall then rejoin and click the red hexagon? I've been suggesting the same thing as it's worked for me and no one has followed up to say if it's helping.
We have dev confirmation that they're working on it but that's the workaround that's helped me so far.

to this day, ever since season 2 happened, im having huge fps issues like 2/3 of the time

2 things happen:
-fps is at 60 then drops to smth like 3 for some reason, goes back to 60 and again to 3 and repeat
ofc in fights
and second thing that happens is, the sound constantly stops and starts playing again
both things were never an issue before season 2
sounds like cpu or storage issue
audio and carving and possibly particles are cpu events
just type remove in the search bar
but why does it suddenly happen only the very day the season 2 came
should be some for ragdolls and particles
that is because s2 was bad for performance

niagara particle systems not being cached or pre spawned and they did massive carving on rival bomb event post player spawn instead of map gen
although they hopefully learned from that
if you scroll up a bit there are engine changes you can do too

Im having the same issue too. I found that if you disable the mods and install them from the join screen it will enable the use of the join button, but that seems like a massive hastle to do everytime I wanna play with my girlfriend

unfortunately no, it USED to work regardless of if they had the mod or not but not anymore, you will appear wearing the default armor for that class, same with painjobs

used to love messing with my teammates as a scout dressed in full driller armor and just grapple hook away from them
Depending on what mod you're talking about, the other players should see you in the custom armor if they also have the mod installed.

Both parties can have nothing but that mod installed, and the same problem happens.

Dont think there's any that specifically replace it but you can use a different mission generator like Mission Content Randomizer or Buyable Missions, or something else. You can also just not pick the mission lol (i know it sucks for assignments tho...)

i've found one for the radioactive exclusive zone but not the other areas
and i've found another that just removes ALL particles which is pretty silly since now there's no visual feedback for anything, i couldn't find any version that doesn't affect any particle that affects gameplay

Having this issue too. Someone suggested make sure they're not out of date but I've never seen out of date mods behave like this. They stopped working in the middle of the day yesterday before the patch for OMEN dropped so it's not like the new patch broke it (though nor did it help, it's still like this). I've restarted, reinstalled, unsubscribed and resubscribed to different mods. The whole catalogue is "invalid"

I'm having an extremely strange issue. No matter what I do, I cannot get this one mod to go away. I've unsubscribed to it (in fact I wasn't even subscribed to it in the first place when I checked mod.io?). Every time I relaunch the game it re-appears. I have followed the guide (https://steamcommunity.com/app/548430/discussions/1/3044985412487214673/) as well as tried launching in safe mode, verifying files, uninstalling the game entirely, deleting all traces of mod.io from my computer, everything. For some reason this mod just keeps coming back no matter what I do.

because if you combine the more players mod with a proximity vocal, there could be some neat amogus shenanigans

Disable any outdated mods.
Once you've enabled the framework and a pack, they should just be in your wardrobe. The framework alone doesn't do anything, you need one of the packs

A side thought. While I absolutely love the ton of MorePlayer servers... every single one of them is listed as an unmodded server. If I filter by modded, there is only 1 and its basically empty. But I can clearly see 9 joinable MorePlayer lobbies, all listed as unmodded.
It's something the devs really need to fix. Many mods can be disabled in the modding menu but aren't truly off. Their effects persist until a full game restart.
Very true, but also I think as a community we should probably be better about actually flagging modded games as modded, instead of stealth running them.
Since they aren't listed as modded, I cant see what mods they actually have running. They could be game-breaking or ruin my save, and I am freely able to join with a non-sandbox save.
I understand what you mean but it really shouldn't be left in the communities hands alone. Many people might be unaware even that the mod persists until they get their 5th dwarf joining. The devs built in a system into official mod support explicitly to mark modded lobbies and have left in this circumvention for a long time. It's about time they made some effort to address it, or else their whole tagging system/marking system is essentially pointless.
Thats fair. In this case I think its a biiiit more clear that these aren't accidental (since I joined 3 of them, and all of them were intentionally running it), and then theres people explicitly running modded servers and labelling them as such in the servernames (I can see 8 servers with the word "mod/modded" in the server title), and every single one is flagged unmodded, and fully joinable, and you have no idea what they are running.
But overall its a dev issue, it needs to be enforced better and made easier to use or it doesnt have a point
I dont quite know what the right solution is I guess. People are having fun, its basically harmless, but also everyone is ignoring the systems(which need work) the devs set up to make this work better.
I feel the same really. I don't want people to stop having fun but really what was the point of all those discussions and all that work around how to separate vanilla from modded, what was the point of setting up a human moderated approval queue that often got gummed up for weeks, what is the point of all the subdivision of the community through the lobby filters if it all can just be ignored? It's just really weird and feels kinda unfair that there's been all this emphasis on mod categories and waiting for mod approval that has created frustration or disappointment for mod authors when for many mods it doesn't really matter due to this bug.

i installed karl class on my sandbox save but it shows up in my player save too even after specifically uninstalling it.

my internet connection is great, mod.io and steam seem fine, and to my knowledge i did not start the game with '-disablemodding' in the launch parameters.

I believe I'm having the same problem. I wanted to try the more player mod, and that's how I discovered that I can't join any modded servers. It just loads like I'm joining a server, but it sends me back on the space rig. I'm really bummed-out about it :(

I had that +5 dwarf mod installed, turned it off, went back to normal progression, booted up a lobby like normal and it still let more than 4 dwarves join, about 7 total players in a run, with me not being labeled as modded

I spent today trying out that mod that removes the player limit cap, and I came to a realization.
The more players there were, the higher chance Trolls would try to kill teammates.
so even if we did get a new mission type that allowed for more dwarfs, any more then maybe 12 would seemly invite trolls to ruin things.

Do you have the launch option to disable modding currently set? Right click on drg in your steam library, go to properties, and make sure you don't have -disablemodding in your launch options.

Only mods that are specifically labeled as Sandbox will lock you to sandbox mode
(generally, this is only mods that make the game significantly easier or nullify game mechanics)
Approved mods can still be used with your normal progress, you just can't use them in lobbies hosted by other people unless they also have that specific mod (and if you host, your lobby will show as modded and people will be prompted to download the mods)

I am new to modding DRG - am I correct assuming Verified mods are mods that are acceptable in normal DRG games, similar to Vermintide 2 mods?
there's prolly a guide somewhere that sums it all up but here's a very quick summary
verified = clientside cosmetic changes that can be used anywhere, don't need to be downloaded by clients, and don't affect gameplay at all
approved = mods that affect gameplay, need to be downloaded by clients, still relatively balanced
sandbox = mods that significantly affect gameplay, need to be downloaded by clients, played in an alternative save, disables achievements, very unbalanced
auto-verified mods are verified mods that modify game files like audio or models, while verified mods modify other stuff but are manually approved by people
theres also mods that are kinda a bit of both sandbox and approved from the playerbase perspective, like the "starship trooper" buffs
yeah, mods are put into categories on a case by case basis. sandbox is the default for new mods that aren't approved yet
stuff that massively buffs the player but were meant to be used with massive difficulty tweak as well
if you are browsing mod.io for mods keep in mind that the "auto-verified" and "verified" tags are not the same, but they both count as verified mods

I've never experienced this myself so I dunno what the solution method would be, have you tried the steps detailed in the pinned messages to try to troubleshoot the problem?
Ill try that now, but no I'm on windows 10 (another post I found was tailored to windows 7 players as well so another 😵💫 sadge momento).

I've been having an issue joining sandbox'd lobbies for a while now. The game claims that the lobby has no sandbox mods enabled despite it telling me just a couple moments prior that it does, in fact, have sandbox mods. I'm on a sandbox profile and have all the mods they're using installed, but still no dice.
Is this a common issue? Is it an issue where I've gone and flipped some "Don't Let Fax0r Have Fun" switch to the "on" position?

It is saying that you have sandbox mods or are on a sandboxed save, not the lobby. Hence why it prompts you to disable your sandbox mods & switch saves.
Just checked the More Players Balanced mod. It is, in fact, only an approved mod.

...the update didn't update my registy.
By doing a search i found out that the update also need to add a registry key (2 if in x64 system)... and since the key wasn't there i had to add them manually.

Just because a mod is 'outdated' doesn't mean that it doesn't work, just that the mod creator hasn't checked the box on the mod page to say they're updated. Season 3 should not have messed up most of the audio mods, so you might still be able to give them a try.

against the rules?
it's pretty easy to get one. first you gotta go to the mission terminal, choose a mission, and then head into the droppod. it'll count down and you will load into a mission. explore the caves and finish the mission. now do this a few more times and you'll be a step closer.

I'm having Issues with mods currently, I have one mod that actually works and that's for wave and event but every other mod that i have says [ERROR: Package is Invalid] And I do not know what to do to try to make them work.
Sounds like theyre outdated
they are all for 1.37 except for Caretaker phases custom framework which is on 1.35 but they say it should still work.
Try disabling it just in case. If that fails try unsubbing from any mods your not actively using. I had a crash on launch that was only solved by doing that.
All my mods where up to date and worked fine once enabled. But launching with them enabled would cause a crash that reinstalled everything. Super weird

Well the one that i want is a whole set of Unreal Tournament sound pack and one is active/downloaded and the other when i first installed it was fine until i left and restarted the game diasbled that one mod and says cannot enable bc a dependency is disabled or removed

it seems that's usually caused by the game being unable to write to the mod.io directory (C:\Users\Public\mod.io). i haven't had the issue myself and am not familiar with how exactly others have fixed it, but hopefully that's a little more direction to go off of

`odd question: how does DRG's terrain work? As in, on a technical level.
It doesn't seem to be using voxels internally and then converting that to a mesh, games like that are usually pretty obvious (they play like a weirdly smooth minecraft) and it has too much resolution on terrain for a sane voxel size.
It doesn't seem to be just using a mesh that is locally deformed on demand because it has volumetric information. Internal 'regions' of terrain can have a type that is stored even when it has no mesh yet.
What is it doing?`
further searching suggests that it might be constructive-solid geometry, but that also doesn't seem to fit. CSG would get insanely intensive with the very large number of shapes that get added/subtracted from a level during typical playtime, unless there's a more efficient way of doing it that im unaware of. I'm not super familiar with it.

Are you using outdated mods and if so check if automatically disable outdated mods is enabled on the left side of the menu

the cosmetic restriction remover mod, if i’m using say the colour scheme of another gun or say of a framework that doesn’t normally have its paint job seperate will other people still see it
Verified cosmetic mods are not gonna change what you look like to others beyond what's possible in vanilla. So if you're using a paintjob that you wouldn't normally have without the mod, vanilla players aren't gonna see it (and will see a vanilla paint instead).

but to directly answer your question, mods are downloaded to C:\Users\Public\mod.io

any time i attempt to connect to a server with the (APPROVED MODS) label, i get this
is this normal? Am i expected to be running the same mods as the server to join? How could that possibly work, it doesn't tell me what mods it is running.

I'm getting a Modding has been disabled because mod.io cannot be reached whenever I try to look at mods. I only use the Sprint by default, Hold to walk and the Brighter Objects mods so it's not that big a deal but I'm wondering if this is a user error, an application error, or server error? I checked mod.io and I'm able to go there just fine.

hello guys, anyone knows the name of the mod that if u ping something, it displays a bit more details in the chat about it? I played with a guy yesterday, I never played modded games before, and I noticed that I accidentally joined his game (i dont remember it said it was modded or anything) and I pinged nitra for example, and it added some text like "Scout needs platform for this nitra, please" or when we pinged an enemy mob it added "Glyphid oppressior [Playername]" in chat, so it was much easier to see who pinged and what did they ping. Also, after we left with the drop pod, it even displayed the total damage we dealt to mobs, that was so cool and I would like to set it up for my games aswell, anyone could give me advice/help on what is the name of this mod (if this is a mod or what, idk i never played modded before but this looks sick)

These are both verified mods so you can use em with vanilla players and not affect their game.
No not officially, it would be put into sandbox mods and would not mess with your actual save

I have a question, why is my game crashing after I modded the game lots
I cleaned my mod lists and uninstalled them all and the game still crashed
the only error log that really says anything is just
"Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 220] PakFile was frozen with version FPakInfo::PakFile_Version_FrozenIndex, which is no longer supported. Regenerate Paks."
the game crashes on start up, but then works kinda fine when I click the "send and restart"
yesterday I had to reinstall the game and the error is gone, but when I start modding again the same thing happened
I did not really go in depth into the steam files, I only have done the basic stuff to clean my mods
delete the mod.io folders in appdata and users/public
cuz sometimes unsubbing in-game doesn't quite remove the files from the harddrive
I think the word frozen had something to do with it, but I don't really know which mod really uses it
and then sometimes those leftover files can cause problems
that's understandable yeah, I'll try cleaning the mods file and try cherry picking which mods is crashing my game
I do want to ask for the people that are experienced with modding with that error line though, I have suspicion that it affects the driller's cryo gun
and I do have multiple mods to reduce particles that affect a lot of things
my suspicion is right, the mods did clash and resulted in the crash

can I unsandbox myself if I download a mod and it ends up sandboxing me? like can I continue progressing?
you don't get "sandboxed". it just makes a new save that's a sandbox save. to swap back to your normal save, go to the save menu in options and swap to your main save
sandbox progresses like any other save aside from achievements being disabled. its just a label that indicates a "cheat" mod has been used
Do Approved mods also disable achievements? I'm not on a sandbox save but I'm not getting them
(I was able to get randoms joining on me, and friends on unmodded saves could too)
only while enabled. you can disable them and start getting achievements again
depends on the achievement. achievements from things persisted to the save file such as reaching all gold promotions or 100 solo missions will appear immediately if met (or maybe after doing one more to "trigger" the achievement"), but transient achievements such as "going lethal" will not.

there is a method to transfer saves between platforms though im not familiar with it. discussion of cheats and cheat software though is not allowed on this server so we cant help you in that way.

Easy enough. People have been doing it for years. My biggest concern was possible differences in file structure. The save may not be compatible.

Whichever mod loaded in last would take priority (as it most recently replaced those files). I believe the load order might be dictated by the alphabetical order of the pak files.

the ones i downloaded replace the ost with songs from quake and ultrakill respectively. I haven't played with them yet but I'm very fond of both OSTs so give them a try if you feel like it

Hello there! I'm an absolute newbie to this community but I was wondering if there's a mod that exists to get rid of the tentacles in Molly when you put a plague heart in her?
I really like the detail of it conceptually- as always the little details in this game are just incredible and I love it- but looking at the little tentacles coming out of her makes me feel viscerally ill.
I don't believe there's a mod currently that does that but I imagine it'd be completely feasible to make one.

specifically, that mod does not exist. however using a particle removal mod will remove the tentacles because they're handled as a particle
that would explain why I couldn't find the model for them when I tried looking.
It looks like unity ribbon particle, so yea, explains why particle remover works there.

the closest thing you could possibly do (and I don't even know if the modding is robust enough to make this) would be to assign some kind of "minimum clearance" where she can't go through a space while pathing back to drop pod unless it's above a certain width, and that'd be likely to break things since there may not be any valid path
so I believe this may just be a "try to be more careful with cave pathing" thing

Theres your explanation I guess. Every season comes with its own season pass, and you cant go back to previous seasons' passes. Since we have s3, you have to start a season pass anew

I am trying to play a modded game with my friend, nothing has changed with our mod configuration since the last time we played about a month ago. But we are told that we cannot join each other's game because one or more mods used by the host are hidden. I have used a browser I am not logged into mod.io on and checked every mod we use. All of them show up in search and I can view their pages so I don't think they are hidden. Is this a problem other people are having?

I typed in cigar and found a mod. I typed in loadout and slot separately and found that no mod exists for loadout slots. Could the search be better? Absolutely. It's pretty clear that the search doesn't take into account the description, only the title. Doesn't make it unusable.
why do mods like build inspector disable themselves randomly? i join a lot of lobbies, but i never pinpointed exactly when it gets disabled
i pretty much only use it because class icons when joining lobbies are very often glitched out so i have no idea which classes joined, unless i have build inspector on
