phero is generally the most braindead way to play the game in general and can cheese most solo missions

whatever you feel like using, if you want crowd control on the primary, electrifying reload gk and aggressive venting drak are good options too.

Any m1k oc with armor break works fine. Ai stability and electric reload are both great for gk2. Thermal exhaust feedback is the best oc for drak by far but Aggressive venting can also be very good for spamming fear to avoid bugs while doing objectives (mainly good for speedrunning ofc)

I am addicted to trying to do cool stuff with static bolts, so I end up neglecting the smelly bolts as a result.

But it is easy to like, not realize you just shot like 3 or 4 special rounds to create some line to hopefully kill a chunk of mobs, but not really a guarantee of killing them...

i got mad unlucky my first run. game wouldn't stop giving me elite spawns and it was over the second an elite bulk showed up during the uplink

second try was the exact opposite in that it threw basically nothing at me and i cleared it for free

Stage 2 of edd can be done very fast, aquarqs are easily accessible

Eggs in stage 1 are fairly close too

Nitra can get a little tricky if you stay too long

I usually do black boxes (and machine events etc in normal missions) right after the 1st swarm to give time to clear enemies and gather nitra, is that not viable?
Does Point Extraction scaling increase the Black Box spawns later on or are you saying Black Box + the base regular spawns is enough to be near impossible later on?

the latter. PE timed enemy spawns ramp up the longer you're in the mission and don't stop for the uplink afaik, so it's best to just wrap up the box from the get-go so you can devote the rest of the mission to grabbing aquarqs before things get rough

Here’s the stage 1 and 2 details if anyone is having issues with finding Nitra or Aquarks in EDD

There should be 5 Nitra veins for stage 1 and 2 each

Gunner would be helpful for stage 1/2 but for stage 2 you can access the upper platform by heading into a tunnel north from the blackbox/starting point.

The idea (if no gunner) would be to finish the blackbox first and then heading North to the upper platform which has 7 aquarks (1 on the path, 3 South East from the mining plat, 3 West from the mining plat).

Stage 1 most eggs and nitra are accessible without a gunner (1 tunnel behind starting room) but theres 1 alien egg/nitra that is out of reach and may use up a good chunk of platforms or drill fuel.

Dude the black box is what got me killed stage 3. The dreadnoughts were brutal, especially the one that spawned beneath all those spires.

for stage three I failed at the hiveguard dreadnought because despite clearing the spires with c4, the uneven ground stopped me and my buddy from getting distance. I did a 2nd attempt solo, by clearing out the Classic dread room first since the room was larger and lured the hiveguard there.

I have no idea how to handle the blackbox stage 3 solo without a gunner though, shields are my crutch for this deep dive. If you have a driller+engi pair you could build a bunker to cheese it probably.

What’s a deep dive?

deep dives are a special mission type you can play after having promoted at least one character

they have 3 stages, increasing in difficulty throughout each stage, and have special objectives

the secondary objective is replaced with a second primary objective and is required to progress

nitra & your remaining ammo carry over between stages, but limited-use perks regain their uses

you can not join a deep dive in-progress, you must join the lobby before it starts to participate

you receive one weapon overclock, one cosmetic overclock, and one blank matrix core for a deep dive, and these rewards are once a week

there's also the elite deep dive, which is more difficult (regular deep dive is a bit harder than haz3, elite is roughly haz5)

you can do both the regular and elite deep dive in the same week & get rewards for both

deep dives will also not contain extra events or minerals, but do contain gold

Yea no definitive one. But some recommendations, for this week theres a lot of defending blackboxes, so movement can be limited. Carpet bomb or Neurotoxin with fear, or Minelayer system would be useful but likely need a strong single target secondary for the stage 3 elimination sections.

Hellfire with fear would also help for blackboxes, but the terrain mostly being wide open on the blackboxes can make it a bit annoying to line up the swarms. I ran with this one with Leadstorm^2 since I don’t have the first 3 OCs mentioned. Blackbox defending is a bit more difficult for me this way but once those are done I can handle swarms and dreadnaughts easily

Leadburster nades can be helpful for elite praetorians during blackbox defending. And for stage 2 bulks (sometimes they spawn, or dont spawn at all). My suggestions here are for this week’s EDD btw.

i've had this happen often I think, but not too sure if they're actively avoiding it or that the ones approaching the burning path had already died.

at least it's consistent and saves some ammo. Clusters sometimes just bounce at weird spots, and chucking leadburster under tanks/dreads can get tricky depending on terrain.

each stage has its own reward which you get when finishing said stage

so if you want the weapon overclock but already finished stage 2, you get it regardless of what happens on stage 3

Hi everyone

just finished EDD with my squad today, took 2 attempts since we got wiped early blackbox stage 3. Was intense without a shield and so many tiny swarmer bugs constantly. Think we had to deal with at least 4 or 5 swarm reports from mission control. We collected as much nitra as we could from stage 1 and 2 and called in like 5 or 6 supply drops, used all of it to get us out to the escape pod.

one of the pumps was also hidden behind a wall, thankfully a buddy called it out that theres a cave next to a wall when they checked the map. 2 Engi 1 Driller team and we made full use of the platforms and drills to set up the pipes.

Any tips for the black box in this week's EDD? Its spawning position seems a bit hard to defend to me.

my lobby dug the black box down to get it to the same height as the ground in that area, makes it easier with handling the grunts

you could ask an engineer with repellant to platform one side of the black box top area to prevent bugs from going there frequently as well

You can, but only through your steam friends list. If you got disconnected from a DD you can rejoin if you are friend with someone still in it by just hitting the join button in their steam profile. Otherwise you are outa luck.

escort is always annoying solo since you have to kill stuff and repair doretta yourself
the blackbox in the 3rd stage is in a somewhat bad position but all classes can kinda deal with it, gunner has shield, scout has grenades, engineer wants to build platforms to increase the area and driller can probably kill most things but if you get pushed from the area it might be a pain to get back up, I guess you could just dig it down to "ground" level
there's a very high morkite geyser that probable only driller and engineer can get to comfortable, I made it go on the refinery then put a couple platforms to make the turn into the cave, but driller can just dig into it

aside of that, just your average edd, the bugs do bite hard in stage 2 though

EDD stage 3 was absolutely cursed. The Black Box is terrible and shield disrupt is awful with the sheer number of swarmers but my squad got a random Dreadnaught spawn

I was the Gunner and burned my shields pretty much back to back to keep it alive, even with the nitra abundance

Idk if Bunkers are frowned upon but my team agreed to resort to it on stage 3.

I detonate c4 to the box to lower it to a better surface , dug down directly under it till my drill is at like 35% heat, placed another c4 at head height. Then dug about a 10-15 meter entrance tunnel, blew up the c4 and dug around the box to make it drop and engi platform with repellant to seal the ceiling.

We proceeded with the refinery stuff like normal after, but had to spam a lot of resupplies and go all out with our gadgets.

There was a swarm early in stage 3 though. So very likely need to survive it before finishing up the bunker. Ill use it if the team agrees with it. If not ill fully support how they want to play

A bunker is honestly a smart move for that box. A lot of people frown on them because it's boring for every situation but when used as a tactical Uno Reverse it's an amazing tool that can save a Dive

Thinking back, if I was playing Driller I would absolutely drop the box into a bunker for that one

It's basically 3 haz 3 missions, except you need to conserve ammo and nitra more carefully.
Well, maybe not this week, this weeks' we called plenty of resupplies and had 400 left at the end

I always play with teams because it goes faster, can't speak to what solo deep dives are like

not too bad, stage 3 gets pretty spicy though. You will need a good driller and engi to make the environment usable. Drill the black box flat and repellant the walls and box to make a kill corridor. Spend time farming nitra on stage 1 & 2 because you'll need it for the heals on stage 3. I think we had like 7 resups scattered around the map at one point so people have healing available to hand

& definitely run vampire, saved me a few times

i recommend you talk in english, since this server has multiple people of multiple nationalities inside.

answering your question, elite deep dives have hazard levels of 4.5, 5 and 5.5 for stages 1, 2 and 3, respectively. my best advice for completing elite deep dives is to get comfortable enough doing regular missions on hazard levels 4 and 5. if in those 100h you think you got enough experience as a solo gunner in those hazard levels, then you should be alright. yet, even if you don't, it doesn't hurt to try, since deep dives are replayable.

I have just promoted my first dwarf. Are the EDD's really that good compared to the rest of the missions, being only one mission longer? I'm just curious, I'm still going to enjoy it.

both the regular deep dive and elite deep dive are 3 missions long, each with a set of 2 primary objectives, rather than 1 primary and 1 secondary. They are fun because of the ramping difficulty, resources carrying over and rewards

No problem, normal deep dive is quite manageable - if you want to be sure then look up the objectives before you dive and build something that suits

the deep dive this week has industrial sabotage and a dreadnaut so you want something suited to this

nothing too difficult on the deep dive, mactera plague might be quite rough on sabotage

it's good for a few reasons. You get 3 matrix cores per weekly dive (once you get all for both dives, you don't get extras from them), you have to kinda be a little more conscious about nitra expenses and resource gathering, and the maps tend to be a little more weird, but it's the same generation for everyone, so it's fun to see if you can go any better than last try

Greeny was gunner and I was driller so I ask for zip line on top of the bot. He just starts the fight anyway then quits. Me and bro finished the fight and did the rest of the DD. If you can do haz 5 solo then you should be mostly good, aside of warnings and stuff

for this particular one, you want to have some decent crowd control for the swarmaggedon

but that stage also has boots and you should have like 500 nitra if you mined all of it in the previous levels so you can go ham with resupply healing

if you're not scout, having bosco's light upgrade allows you to see the minerals in the cave much faster and imo it's better than 1 revive since spending less time on the caves means less things can go wrong

I did my very first one solo too, if you can play Haz 4/5 comfortably with a team then the regular deep dive won't be tougher, it'll just take more time.

Likewise, a regular decent haz 5 player should not struggle too much with EDDs.
