"Leaf Lover" is basically a slur that refers to elves, as in the dwarves' natural rival. It's a pretty much accepted fact that if you play DRG, then you're racist towards elves in one way or another.

The in-game description for the drink enforces this, as it's only available thanks to management; no dwarf is expected to order it, it's just there. The effect is also against dwarf mentality, as the dwarves in DRG are pretty stereotypical, as in, they live and die for beer. Leaf Lover's Special is the opposite of alcohol as it completely eliminates all effects of drunkenness.
