It seems like me and another random player filled the last spot at the same time, as we both loaded in together, which made 5 of us in the mission. At the end of the mission, we all walked into the drop pod at the same time to so that no one would get left behind. Back at the space rig, everyone spawned in their own cabin, but the 5th person spawned in the middle area near the mission selection station. We all started a second mission together, but once it started, me and another player were both stuck in the same chair in the drop pod - I had to use the grappling hook to get out of the chair, as neither of us could move. Apart from that though, it all worked surprisingly well.
