Perhaps it could be a Harvester Queen event? The gigantic lootbug queen has to eat huge deposits of minerals to feed her incubating children. Killing it will throw hundreds of random minerals (nitra, gold, and the biome specific crafting materials) across the cave. Maybe it could be impenetrable except for one weak point, and it would deflate like a balloon and spray minerals from that spot when oopsed, making it easier to catch the minerals and stop them from spreading out and being hard to collect

I usually do 1 ammo 1 damage, but that's preference. Either way your six shooter mag-dump will be insane.

To me, the slight changes the raytracing makes in those images just isn't worth it. Especially with how large the FPS drop is. (from 140 to ~50) It would be even worse in the middle of a swarm.

@primal sinew the biggest room with random pillars can appear in every biome, like every room in the spawn pool. there are no biome exclusive rooms, it's just that different biomes do different things to the same base topography. Sandblasted for example blows the rooms up (like a baloon) while dense adds a random wavey- pattern to them. there's another big room that has straight pillars from left to right while being very long forward.

I mean it makes sense for a few reasons though
For one, it is a soft form of pressure relief, since now the remaining player(s) don't have the entire army of bugs on them only most of the army. Plus it makes it a bit more dramatic looking to see your KO'd buddy surrounded by like 20 grunts.
Though maybe there should be some sort of cap or limiter to make sure you can't go entirely for free lol
