It's very simple actually. Drill straight down for 20-30m or so, getting the objective with you as you go, put c4 or drill a small room, have everyone jump in, have engie seal it at different points, create a side tunnel away from the vertical one but stop about 5m away from the surface, ideally close to the drop pod at the refuelling stage so you can make a run for it once the door opens.

Even if a Detonator spawns, then you still have maybe a minute until it reaches you from the surface, so you can decide whether you want to drill deeper, or open up the side tunnel and draw it away while engie seals it again, or wait it out before making a break for it.

You shouldn't find yourself in a situation where this is your best option unless something went really wrong, but it's an option nonetheless.

@austere cove forgot to mention, this build requires a lot of ammo. Double dipping is common I find. Mostly for the Grenade Launcher, but the LOK-1 consumes a good amount too. So just remember that lol

Fat Boy only has 5 shots max to use, so you gotta use it on big groups or big threats. LOK-1 is alright on ammo (my build has 216) but you often blow through most of the ammo in the chamber by locking onto multiple enemies

since you only have 36 rounds and you can lock onto up to 12 enemies

so yeah.

Doing experiment with bunch of mod / weapon i never rarely use on haz 4, i always ran out of subata for some reason 🤔

loadout (very leaning into channeling warcrime with explosive grenade, high damage mod in c4 (actually more worth it to have ammo mod tbh)):

Also, I still feel HE grenade is not that great, maybe im doing something wrong

there's definitely a learning curve with HE grenade where you need to aim and see the meter. let's say you want it to explode further from you, you need to release early. but then it's up to the terrain because it bounces. and for closer encounter, you need to hold longer, meaning HE grenade lacking in responsive in close combat (ever more so in haz5 since enemy is faster).

there's also learning curve with having HE grenade to take out macteras, but that needs more testing the feel

this thing is honestly kinda ridiculous at everything it does. the damage together with the fire rate can kill a whole hoard of grunts on your face before they manage to get to you, and get-in-get-out makes you even more safe
then we can add the weakpoint damage and it's just 👌 at dealing with single targets too
it also has so much ammo
not to mention the lightning fast reload
sometimes i switch to conductive bullets, or blowthrough, because those mods are also genuinely good, but this specific one has brought me the most success so far

It's a Matrix Core infuser. If you cannot use it, it's because none of your dwarves was promoted yet.
To get a dwarf promoted, you need at least one to reach level 25. Then you perform the missions to get that dwarf promoted.
Once one dwarf is promoted, ALL dwarves you play can use the Tri-key and activate Matrix infusors, which are a nice little event in themselves,
