This is my concept of a healing device in drg. It’s more like some kind of red sugar backpack really but when I came up with the idea for the blades I just wanted to create something out of it so I did.(there might be spelling errors also the idea wasn’t to have this be an item for a new class but rather an alternative to let’s say scouts flare gun)

so the ones circled in grey are species not in the game? also i think twins also evolved partly from warden, because similar ability, and the vanilla dreadnought has some mactera genes since the armor of the dreadnought and the armor of the brundle fly is literally identical in looks and function similarly. the game states that web spitters evolved from acid spitters, so they arent on the same evolutionary row. glyphid menaces and fester fleas may have some genes in common with similar behavior and looks, but nothing concrete. crassus detonator was a spontaneous mutation of the bulker, therefore not in the same row either. slashers and guards also evolved from grunts, so arent in the same row either.

Right- for the record I put way too much thought into this- because I saw an evolutionary chart that listed Brood Nexus's as part of the process- and the Wiki says they're actually from a seperate genus, so it somewhat peeved me-

Now, Exploders are presumably based on the concept of parasitic fungi in species of ants, which causes them to explode with spores- the longer the spores present, the bigger the infection

I think of them as more of a building, than a living entity. Sort of a nursery location. Otherwise, neat chart.

Whereas the web-spitters are only available as a diversification through normal and radioactive glyphid variants, as the wiki points out that they aren't able to spawn in ice-biomes, which confirms this-

However, the acid spitters can appear in any biome, so that would imply that due to the hostile nature of ice-biomes on Hoxxes IV, that the web-spitters in the Ice-strain of glyphid died out or were phased out through evolution due to the fact that the cold temperatures would freeze the webs, or make the surfaces hard to form webs on

Now, if we consider the fact that both acid spitters and menaces are both said to spit acid, we can assume that the menace is a version of the acid-spitter that underwent final metamorphosis.

Similarly, the web-spitter would have the function of creating webs in a hive, which makes it more of a worker then fighter- similar to the warden, in that their purpose is more support of the hives and workers by regular design.

The Warden (when healing) emits a beam of purple energy / pheromones to heal nearby glyphids- this effect is remarkably similar to the link the twin dreadnoughts (Arbalest and Lacerator) share when regenerating each-others health

Additionally, both the Arbalest and Menace have ranged attacks- this implies that the Twin Dreadnoughts come from mutation when the Menace or Warden undergo metamorphosis in their cocoons,

Moving on to the slashers/guards., and ultimately the hive-guard and regular dreadnought:

Its natural to assume that both Slashers and Guards metamorphose into Oppressors- who, due to their armour and similar shape, naturally seem to progress into hive-guards.

The Sentinels, however, can be linked to Guards due to their similar shape, now given what previous hypothesis was made based on the Hiveguard dreadnought, this could be either due to premature metamorphosis, or they could guards about to metamorphose into praetorians- which would give the Hive-guard its namesake, aka, guarding a section of the hive's population, which ants are known to do.

That may be so, but given that these variants of the grunts are in all biomes by regional type, I. E regular, radioactive and ice, its fairer to label them as a second stage of the grunt due to how widespread they are

WIP of a pickaxe that would be reminiscent of a minecraft pickaxe but still dwarven DRG. It's gonna be tricky to get a good mix of minecraft pixellated pickaxe plus the low poly drg but i think i can do it

I like, but like onlyfankiyo said, it feels more minecraft less DRG. In general its rly cool! if possible though, try to make the shape a bit more like some of the shafts avalible in DRG, maybe with metal "inlays" but then keep the color scheme close to what it currently is, with mostly that diamond blue, wooden brown and the greys to signify metal

@keen etherThese are fantastic!!! I'd love to see them added for a new gamemode, like the dwarfs have to suit up in their own mech suits/(aircraft?) to take on the biggest baddest beasts of Hoxxes. I can just imagine the driller mech busting through giants cavern walls, and the gunner and engie mechs blasting away at bugs while scout flies over, launching flares like a AC-130. Very cool concept 10/10

I'm not much of an artist, but I think there might be some potential for more detail if his right leg was more outwards facing, so you could see additional bits and bobs strapped to the side of the ankle

but I love how sharp the armor segments look

I am somewhat an artist and I can say the legs are FUBAR. Also his right arm is as long, as the whole dwarf. Torso kinda twisted weirdly. There is big potential in the artist, but body shape/anatomy has to be learned.
