i love this biome idea, as someone who used to think about a surface biome when i really got into the game at first, this is a fantastic way to execute that feeling without disregarding the game's current bounds of operation for other biomes. the way you have incorporated adapted elements from the game's existing creatures and concepts flows very nicely with the background of Hoxxes IV. maybe we'd even see LeAdHead's electric bulker there :)

How do players find shelter if all fungi are destroyed by mistake or by trolls?
Are they just doomed to take damage? Would the fungi respawn in the spot they were destroyed, even if the terrain they were on is no longer present?
Also the fact it damages bugs, wouldn't it completely break the ammo economy?
Not disagreeing with your idea, would like to actually develop it more.
I'd also like to suggest adding a new enemy type for you biome, the zap spitter, a replacement of the acid variant.
Less direct damage, longer dot and electric effect.
Give it more spikes and paint its back blue and job done.

So I had only read the "Community FAQ" for the Fan Forge... turns out there's an even bigger For Fans FAQ if you dig that talks about how many DPI/PPI your images need to be. Photoshop's default (72 PPI) is not print quality (150-300 PPI). Craaaap

They really should have that specification in the Fan Forge FAQ for people that don't usually print their art. The most specific thing on that FAQ is sizes in inches for different merch, so that's what I used. 😦

big expensive silicon mold in 3 parts, expensive resin to fill the mold + time to paint it and protect it with epoxy resin = pricey. Not sure a lot of people would be interested in something like that with an expensive price range.
and it's 19h to print on an fdm otherwise, at 5% infill and 0.2 layer height, with a good hour to clean the supports. So not really a good way to produce them.

Regarding actual mugs and not just can holders, the chance are slim because of how costly injection molds are. It will needs a company willing to buy and stock something like 500-1000 mugs. It's quite a huge investment and you need the place to stock everything + it's a gamble because you're not sure you're going to sell them all.
I've looked at ways of producing mugs myself that are food safe and so far I couldn't found a process that I could do in my workshop. So unless a professional has a way to do it safely for the customers, I won't ever propose mugs myself.

Had an idea for any animators who want to tackle it. A bit of an intro trailer for the game with "heard it through the grapevine" starting up as the drop pod lands. Gunner and driller just come out blasting the moment the ramp lowers, scout and engie hop out behind them and do their thing as a ridiculous glyphid swarm rushes the drop pod. Maybe like 2 mins tops.

It's kinda hard to know what is lumped in the "collectibles" section, what can be made and what can't, etc

In that the devs have talked about refining the brood nexuses even more
So it's basically prime time to show them some concept
I did suggest another idea to refine/suggest a replacement/upgrade for the brood nexuses by using the very old fossilized glyphids asset that they had in the game a while back and put the brood nexus into the fossilized carcasse.
And instead of popping green swarmers it would pop the parasites
But having a mound of weebers is also something interesting

the web mounds work similarly to the nexus, but are a static destructable placement, forever spawning bugs, like the purple tunnels. you need to dig to the center of the mound and destroy a cluster, turning off the spawn rate.

Zkalkin Devastator
The Zkalkin Devastator is a ranged attack + melee attack tank. The Zkalkin will spawn with an unarmored tail capable of rapid firing bullet like crystals at dwarves. These crystal barrages can quickly down dwarves, however the Zkalkin must “reload (generate more crystal ammo) after a few seconds of firing. Not only that but when in ranged form they take a bit to change to a different target.
These beefy bugs prefer walls and ceilings and are around the same size as an oppressor.
The unarmored tail is a weak point and when destroyed they are no longer able to use ranged attacks and take heavy damage from it. Despite this they continue to fight and will enter a melee mode where they rush the dwarves as any other bug would, yet with the added effect of being far stronger in both attacks and health.
If left alone for to long the Skalkin will regrow the tail, but will not regenerate health or armor.
Only one Zkalkin can spawn at a time and will not spawn with a high number of enemies to balance out how strong it is.
Zkalkins are only found in the Crystal Caves and Glacial Strata. I wasn’t sure if it was too strong to be a heavy enemy (like the oppressors and bulks) or if it was too weak to be a boss. So that’s up to someone else.

I think the best strategy to use is to have two people attacking it since it can’t change targets very well in ranged mode. Then once the tail is destroyed you allow it to regrow the tail and destroy it again, potentially killing it. I think this works best as destroying the tail does more damage to this creature than any other attack.

The electricity idea is a bit similar in concept to crystal caves (as it has those lightning crystals) so maybe this could be an extension of that?

If this is truly gonna be its own biome then maybe something out of the ordinary should be featured here. Like cave storms with cavernous rain and lightning. Doesn’t make any sense scientifically, but it would look cool as hell to look at the ceiling and see large crystals jutting out of dark stormy cave clouds.

or some minerals that explode when hit with a pickaxe, so a driller would have to drill around it, for example
i feel like additional mechanics to mining can be really fun
if you want more ideas -- look up how mining is done in Space Station 13, there are different code bases, but each has a twist on mining

Since someone brought it up, Ant Lions ARE Larva. They're a relative of Dragonflies and metamorphose into something quite similar, but basically harmless.

It wasn't cheap work putting together all those poses, I had to basically construct them out of timed screenshots of existing animations at various angles with image manipulation for separate limb and body positions. I had to separate the characters from their original backgrounds. I followed a reference and transformed the shape, rotation, and position of the character parts to make it clear that it is in reference of a trending meme. I also took the time to adjust brightness levels so the characters look less out of place in the background screenshot that I took just for this creation, and added outlining to help define them better. Sure it's a meme, and I already posted it in the meme channel, but I worked hard on it with passion for this community.

Here's an idea: interchangable parts. So the parts are like lego pieces that slot into each other, and you have a fully customizable pickaxe

I was thinking about using magnets to change the blades, but it's better if the rest are glued together so there's no gaps and they don't get destroyed in the process of switching through time.
