It's a little hyperbolic to say they're the worst, especially in the case of drg which has delivered a stellar experience to a loving fanbase that would likely be more than happy to pay in a bit of extra money to keep funding the project

But I digress. The art is cool, I'd pay for a boombox.

However, holy shit, I mean wow, DRG is a game I've been waiting forever for. There's so many nuanced decisions into how the game works, and not just in the mines. Imagine how unhappy people would be if they removed the jukebox!

Payed skins can...

1. Ruin the art style

2. Segment your community unintentionally

and much more

however, as i see it this is a pretty dang good game company and they have a 2 year track record. I'm not saying I'd buy the paid skins, but there's clearly more valuable alternatives in the overclocked cosmetics.

Having a few options in terms of cosmetics can give invested players a warm sense of community. I really appreciate having my golden pickaxe, because I haven't seen an inde company this competent in ages. I very much doubt DRG would make a two tiered player system that devalues the self expression of "lol I'm a goblin dwarf," or "lol I'm a trucker dwarf."

Putting the Dorf in five different angle drawing to good use. Created a super rough Dorf maquette to use as extra reference when I begin to properly begin sculpting the real piece for proportions and pose.

Proper one will be bigger, made using an oil based clay for higher detail and everything properly sculpted

Cracked this out in around an hour, including armature fabrication.

I don't usually criticize people's work, but since it's for your art class, might as well help you getting a better grade

Yeah, when I tried doing the central hub the lines weren't agreeing with the grid so I adjusted them so I wouldn't be doing a lot of work with colouring later; and I don't know what happened with the top left of the drop pod

In fact i do wonder if gsg could use this model as a brand new weapon for the game, perhaps even a 3 round nade launcher. Now i know this is off topic for this channel but i always expected ghost ship to like follow a rule of 2 for the weapon variety like.... we have 2 shotty (boomy, wthog), we have two pistols (suba,brt7), we have two elemental sprayer (flamer, cryo), two heavy duty weapons (minig, autoca), two plasma based weapon (exp plas, breach cut), two smg (stub,zuk). Surely the next ones would be a second Ar, a second Glauncher (like yours for example), a second Sniper and a second revolver.

First the actual cube is a normal cube, with a couple of loop cuts, then a whole lotta booleans

Wireframe is a lil messy

the glowing blobby stuff inside the cube is a normal cube, subdivided, then random verticies scaled outwards

The black metal texture is a generated voronoi texture, fed into the colour and metallic sheen
The white blob is just an emissive texture

The minecraft portal is just an image that glows

Add a couple point lights in roughly the same spots as the flares and blue shard in the screenshot and you got a portal!

The Eevee rendering engine is truly a beautiful addition to blender. Cos it lets me make memes with ease ;)

I didn't really explain in my pictures (lazy me), but the hammer would require fuel to swing faster and harder. It works without it but greatly enhances the attacks. Using horizontal attacks would work better against smaller targets and large groups while vertical would smash larger creatures. I thought this might balance the class, make the combat more fun and challenging.

although yeah, it would require quite a few tweaks to make it more co-op oriented

DRG really needs extra vertical movement. I figured doing a jump pad would be a perfect addition. It works with all other equipment and it happened to fit with this new class as well. Yes I was thinking about the guide too

But its getting pretty late. I'll check out what people think in the morning. Bye!

I have a basic background but not certain if I like it or not

i feel as if there's a lot of clashing colors going on as well as an odd mix of style. such as the bulk in the otherwise-low-poly face

the face also gets cut-off by the top band, which is probably intentional, but it would fit the composition better if it happened to be dead center

however, the driller's face is very nice and the background works well with it, i dig the slogan at the top and the lettering behind the face is nice, though i kind of feel as if it gets cut off abruptly, for someone who isn't familiar with rock and stone, it might be hard to read. If i could suggest some tweaks, i would blur the background a bit so it directs the eye towards the foreground, and have the two red bands cast a drop shadow to show a further sense of depth. maybe also outlining the nitra chunks or using them as something between the foreground of the face and the background, sort of how some old emblems had swords in a X pattern behind a shield if you know what i mean. maybe even using some drills instead of swords might yield an interesting result

it's only an opinion tho, still quite nice

oh last things, for the bulk reflection thing, you could replace it with some low poly fire reflections (at a low-ish opacity) so that it fits smoother with the large polygons of the face, and while the colors of the red bands and the black (from the previous picture) fit very well together, i feel as if the red and the green of the background contrast quite a lot, especially at the bottom where it get brighter, and it renders the "enlist today" part of the text a bit tougher to read from afar. i'm throwing ideas around and i didn't really take into account that it might not be finished yet, but i do have some ideas, but i don't want it to feel like i'm being harsh or something

Sure the waves for minimal extraction could count as relentless but still had to shift the focus onto the main goal

Light novel is a term used for Japanese serialized works as they come a few chapters as a time. Hence light since it's not a long tankuban or omnibus.
