Ok, so this is my idea inspired by @supple fox zombie dwarves. (this is going to be a lot of text) A single breed of wardens were born with a genetic resilience to the lithophage virus, incorporating it's invasive biology into their systems with no harm to themselves. As usual, the infected individuals were disconnected from the glyphid hive network. However, these wardens that were not overcome by the rockpox did not go mad and follow the wandering swarms of the other infected wildlife, but created their own colonies due to their control over the virus. Using their lithophage infected control node upon their backs they could twist their now mutated virus into obeying their commands as glyphid grunts would. This evolution has become known as "the seed". The seed-bearer wardens began to purposefully plant the seed into smaller glyphids, using the seed to take full control over them. The most concerning development however, is their ability to enact this procedure upon our miners...

Anyway, they would be a new enemy type: seed-bearer wardens, seeded bursters (exploders), seeded spitters, seeded drillers, scouts, gunners, and engineers. They would apply a "seeded" effect over time with their attacks like rockpox but instead causing you to attack your teammates for a short period upon full stacks.

Modding this game is pretty hard tho, it loves crashing when a texture is slightly too big or small.
