the bottom jaw not being split in this mesh is the bane of my existence currently, had to go in and rip the vertices BUT, the problem is the weights for the armature still dont work and the jaw still overlaps which is why it was merged i believe for 3D printing, but i want it to split properly and trying to weight paint overlapping tiny bits of a mesh is like impossible so i gotta figure out how else to split it an not make it look awful while doing so

and im gonna have to do this again if i rig different models and want a pose with the lower jaw split

at this point im considering ripping the models directly from the game myself assuming if they weren’t retouched for 3D printing or whatever they might still have the mesh properly split on the jaws, but that would still take time and i dont even know if it would be not merged

I love the idea of things going wrong in a big way as some kind of event. Maybe if this worked as a game modifier your goal would be to just damage the Destroyer and survive the onslaught as it passes through your area. Once it's gone, any surviving dwarves can pick up the scraps of their original mission and return, shaken, to the spacerig

Further along such an event (similar to the progression of the Rockpox), the Destroyer would have accumulated damage, exposing some parts and allowing you to pry off parts of the machinery for R&D to study and reverse-engineer, giving you new ways to fight the Destroyer

You'd be rewarded for that the same way you are for Plaguehearts. In the third act of the Destroyer event, I imagine we'd be able to deploy some kind of heavy anti-Destroyer machinery for a big bot-on-bot combat spectacle

The event would end with the Destroyer's own destruction, maybe with some big mineral reward for all dwarves who fought it, sampled directly from the giant thing's scrapheap whalefall corpse

A while back I modeled, coded and made assets for something similar in-game. Sometimes it spawns with an infected Bosco or Mule within the spike. They normally spawn in surrounded by ribcages in my Rockpox mission type but for demonstration purposes they are here. Our minds think alike!

Hey dudes, did a DRG roughneck engie for DragonCon this year and won first place in the videogame costume contest, so I thought I'd share my work with the lowest and the highest. My partner and I made everything from scratch, except for the shirt, boots, and gloves. Modeled, printed, and finished all of the hard goods myself, except for the pickaxe, which I just had to piece together and fix up from existing files. I handed out gold nuggets and rock candy (red sugar!) to other dwarves of culture.

Thanks! The most complicated thing I'd ever modeled before this was a handivac mount, so it was a real learning experience.

There's a chin-strap/frame of plastic canvas mounted on a halo of cloth under the helmet for support for the foundation. My partner and I then cut EVA foam into strips and layered it on top of the canvas. Those are hotglued onto upholstery foam in places that needed a bit of extra girth to give it the shape. These sausage links are threaded onto a braid of waxed cord, which runs through the printed nuts for support and gives it a bit of natural sway. Maybe just me, but I prefer to put all my base shadows at once before going darker and then highlights. Give you more freedom than going full dark straight up and realising later than you wanted to go even darker or lighter in a part adjacent.

Also the ear seems a little low compared to the eyes, but I m unsure.

And her left forearm might be a bit short, her hand should reach further down and grab completely her right arm (try to imitate the pose yourself), I m unsure too here.

a glyphid stalker concept I made cause I think they wont use the slasher reskin model they have rn (ignore the stain at the bottom I accidently spilt my drink on it 🥲 ) "some" design notes: its elongated body is so it can slither around and make less noise, it still has legs just devolved cause it doesn't use them anymore but it hasn't fully evolved to where it doesn't have the smaller legs period, it has a sideways alligator mouth so it can borrow with more aerodynamics (I actually just think it looks cool) i kept the sharp back spines and sword like front legs cause I'm sure the stalker will have features of the slasher cause why else would it be the placeholder model(P.S. please pretend the front legs are larger and longer I accidently made them to small and I don't feel like fixing them xd) srry for the paragraph just wanted to get out all i had to say abt it
