But after watching the Deep Rock Galactic 5 Year Anniversary Livestream I figured it'd be the perfect time to post this!

So me and my friend Alejandro were working on a comic for Deep Rock Galactic. We have a general idea of the story for the comic but I'm open to hearing ideas! We had a lot of inspiration from the Team Fortress 2 Comics!

I've been a bit hesitant about progressing the comic because I've been thinking it'd be a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with some of the other talented dwarves in the community! Bobert has not been having an epic day. He is new and was hired only a month ago, but has been playing on easy long enough to get a handle of things. So today he tried his first challenging mission

The first minute was spent fighting his way out of a giant lithophage meteor, and subsequently falling his first time to a bulk det awakened by the rock breakers. After his first ever encounter with a bulk det left half of the spawn room a massive gaping crater, he was forced to flee as a lithophage shower immediately began hailing his position. This is where he met Bet-C, for the very first time. Having been shown true horror, he then stumbled upon something called a "communication router" and was somewhat relieved when it didnt try killing him. the rest of the mission went fairly smoothly after he liberated the Bet-C of its parasites (at the expense of a couple of satchel charges and another life) and completed his mission successfully.

The interesting thing about the Blackout Stout, I took a pre-existing STL of it and used a CAD program to alter its size, divide it in separate pieces (and make the handle and mug have a lego-like effect since they print separately), and ensure it fits a red solo cup

heres my progress so far:

a concept for the shard diffractor using real life (hard sci-fi) principles

instead of a continuous beam, it would shoot out an extremely short pulse of stupidly fast plasma induced by a pulse laser system based on the ommoran heartstone

if anyone has questions, i am happy to explain

basically just using some very powerful flash lamps to excite an ommoran heartstone crystal, it makes a short pulse of extremely powerful light which then excites a caesium doped gas to form an extra magnetic plasma, which is then accelerated through a lorentz force based Z-pinch fusion system (it goes through coils that accelerate the plasma and form a magnetic field which gets tighter and tighter until it begins to fuse.) the doped gas (now mostly helium and possibly even oxygen or carbon) is hurdling through the coils, expanding as the heat accelerates it even more until it comes out the front, is confined to a mostly beam-shaped beam, and blasts whatever unfortunate creature/rock/dwarf is in the way straight to hell

the pulse would, of course, also send you flying back

the effects would be either giving the bug a nice sandblasting and dose of gamma radiation to completely obliterating it faster than the eye can see, i’m honestly not sure

it is complete pseudoscience bullshit that’s only held together by being technically possible and slightly coherent if you use google search
