what's the story behind em?

as of current its connected to lancer! this ttrpg im playin, its got a similar space setting with industrialist/capitalistic themes so thought it would be fitting. guy on the right, yves, worked with sigourney at deep rock galactic as part of the deep dives team, until she kind of disappeared after a mission. it was just the two of them. he came back unscathed and untouched. no one knows what happens but everyone assumed it was just a mission casualty. not too long, yves resigns and goes to fight in the ungratefuls movement - which is a lancer thing. no one really knows what happened to sigourney. because no one can find yves after the incident - he's made sure any remaining information about him within the company's been scrubbed, no one rlly knows how he did it or why. people do know him by name, but unfortunate for them, yves changes identities and names a lot, from place to place. as far as anyone knows, he was just another retired nobody. feel like the cracks'll start showing soon enough. its a bit convoluted, but yves runs away from a lot of things and they all come back eventually

people only really know him by name and alias, but i feel like that's enough to start a trail

Had an idea for a fan-concept recently

The basic idea is permanent outposts deeper in the mines, sort of like a second space rig further into Hoxxes itself. allowing the players to switch weapons, resupply and redistribute perk-points before heading further.
I think it'd be really neat to hear mission control over the comms saying "Alright miners, hunker down and hold tight. we need to secure this position before pressing on."
Just diving further and further into the planet with new biomes and an even more challenging version of a deep dive :D

The other day my Elite Deep Dive was ruined by a group of Tri-Jaws (Thanks, Mactera Plague!) So I drew a terrible sketch for a humanoid Tri-Jaw as a joke
Despite the fact that the sketch was pretty bad I ended up expanding it to a full thing, with copious edits and revisions.
This one was much harder than the ores because I had some actual features to take into consideration, yet those features are far from humanoid, so I had to take a lot of liberties; resulting in a design that is much more out there and eccentric - and also a guy, because if all the ores are female, then the bugs gotta be male, right? Probably not everyone's thing, but I think it turned out pretty neat.
Oh yeah and no one likes Tri-Jaws, which is how this got started in the first place, so he's a total dick. Which I felt like showcasing with some extra doodles.

Artificers are a more support oriented class, the primaries are tooled to be reliable at long ranges, allowing an artificer to safely take the back line and Not be completely useless, unlike most classes who are pretty reliably short to mid range

Support tool is the flag, when planted down a small area around it gains healing regen, because that’s a thing that DRG could use

Mobility tool is an elevator platform, because imo deep rock is CRITICALLY missing reliable vertical mobility for anyone who isn’t scout

that is true, but also slightly debatable, given how it regenerates shields and keeps you from damage for aa short period of time, im talking more an extended period of time of slow, but full health regeneration

im no pro, i wouldnt even call myself to be overly good at the game despite that im level 173 now, but some missions where red sugar isnt readily available and accessible when im playing a class like gunner or driller are a pain, and some other way to heal up fast would be appreciated ig

(im also painfully bad at EDDs but i classify that more as a skill issue then a game issue)

Over the course of the year I got some complaints that the fleshy tendril arm didn't really fit what is supposed to be a personified rock, so I decided I was eventually gonna rework the design; and here it is
She's got a big rocky arm now that's got all your healing needs concentrated in it (though it does partially get in the way of her wearing that spiffy new coat she got herself, bummer)

The question is, without a big syringe on her arm, how does she actually heal people now? To answer this question, I refer you to this handy bonus sketch

tbh i really like both of them, the tendril arm has this really creepy look to it, but god damn, that bulky arm looks CLEAN

Yeah I wanted to go for something both endearing and creepy at the same time with the first one, but like I said some people really didn't vibe with the pseudo-gore

I still like the design but I think the newer one is more refined
and I pulled it off a lot better artistically too of course; 10 months do make a difference

Maybe u could try some variants with a more crystal like arm, smth where there are a few little Spikes point to the doc or smth to make it a bit more visible ad crystal
