If you want some advice, the legs and arms (or just his left arm) seem really short comparatively to the torso. Looking at a dwarf in the victory screen, his fingers reach up to his knees, whereas here they barely reach the pelvis.

Proportions aside this is turning out great. the detail with the gear is on point.

For advices, he does look a bit long. Try making his torso shorter. One rule to follow is that arms length makees it so hands tend to arrive near the same level as the crotch or lower. You forgot the ears as well or they are too small in my opinion. And same thing for the nose. Else, it's great!

I studied some concept art, and the in game models. Markers are quite different to work with than coloring pencils, but I think it came close to how the game style looks.

Blending and layering, and how you can switch the order, and get harsher lighting. Fan art is a good start to learn new ways to challenge yourself oddly enough.

Hi! Haven't been here for a while. Recently I made a Bosco puppet and went to the local cosplay convention. People recognized the character and I consider that a success! Was really glad to hear a couple of Rock and Stones and of course responded back :D

The puppet is quite big, about 50 cm total (the body itself is 30 cm) and is made of a PVC sheet.
Its arms are moveable. There are two springs inside that allow Bosco wiggle its arms when I move it. And there are two springs in its "ears". I also used various umbrellas parts, a wooden shaft with a handle as a base and the metal rods as connectors. And acrylic paint and a lot of super glue. Spent 2,5 months or so to plan and build it.

Although its moveset is extremely limited (I literally can only move it up and down, the arms and the ears move by themselves), Bosco looks alive enough. With a bit of practice I could move it around freely. It weights a lot though.

I had plans to make semi-transparent parts with LEDs and wanted to add a speaker with Bosco noises, but don't have enough skills with electronics. It also would be better if I made a dwarf costume, which I didn't, and that spoiled the impression a bit. Anyway, that was fun.

Added some work in progress pictures as well. You can see my old Doretta plush there, she has a friend now :)

Here it is, lads, the completed Brood Nexus!
This one had a lot more thought put behind it than the Trawler and Q'ronar. The clothing is inspired by Victorian era dresses, the design of the dress being based on the Azure Weald.
Overall very happy with how this one came out.
