@placid sluice it is likely because your internet settings, or ISP or whatever you use, dont allow playfab.api to make a connection, so you need to fix that. i cant give you steps, but you can google it

Few things to you might try:

Xbox (not sure about windows) has issues with the Xbox instant on. Freezing the game in the background causes sound and multiplayer issues on resume.

My recommendation is to always force quit before turning off xbox. For windows maybe making sure you aren't minimizing out. Before doing that you can try disbanding as that sometimes clears it up.

Barring that, are you on an apartment? I've found that sometimes apartments are setup with strict NAT which causes issues. Not having an open NAT can cause multiplayer issues. The NAT thing can be an issues at home/not apartment. I just mentioned that because if you are in an apartment getting a fix can be a pain in internet is managed by the company.

I have an issue in the game on PC where I can't change any of the voice chat settings. The voice chat is insanely loud but the volume slider makes no difference, and disabling voice chat altogether doesn't do anything either I can still hear people. The buttons to change auto output don't do anything. I'm basically stuck getting my ears blasted so I just have to hope nobody speaks. Any help would be appreciated.

I also wouldn't mind a Spotify-like in-game subscription to the jukebox. I spend way too much there. Maybe sign up for a flat rate for unlimited plays per month with automatic credit removal. DRG can go super corporate with their exploitation of users.

besides, the jukebox is usually used in complements with either beer (a huge source of income for DRG) or after successful missions (they are already at a huge profit) so I doubt they would care enough to implement the extra bureaucracy to keep track of tens of thousands of jukebox subscriptions

they only have ONE guy working mission control, they're already pretty stingy when it comes to non-expeditionary staff

The way I see it is the jukebox is a fixed cost that they've paid for. The songs are already licensed.

They'd lose money on the power users like me, but the subscription fees on those who join and forget might make them more.

But not just that, more music playing likely means more brews flowing which has much more profit potential. Usually the first song is a response to a brew, but subsequent jukebox plays and dancing can lead to more people ordering. It takes more than 15 plays to equal an extra Glyphid Slammer so I think they win out by treating the jukebox as a loss leader.

Bonus: dead dwarves don't pay for plays, but their accounts can still be charged for subscriptions until someone inherits it and cancels.

Does anyone know if blocking a player via Xbox live is supposed to block them from joining games you host? Because I blocked someone yesterday and they joined a mission I was in today - I even double checked to make sure it was the same person and it still said blocked.

I had a griefer on gta online that friended me and I didn’t know that so I looked them up to report them and it said change friendship so along with reporting I blocked them and they could never find me because it showed me as offline

Xbox blocking is not the best thing in the world to block from joining your game but at least it shows you offline

The best way to prevent people from joining you is to set your appearance to offline, it fades out the join button.

Yeah, I want all my friends to be able to join. This dude was a random that caused trouble in a previous mission. So he just joined from the server list.

That sucks because I assumed blocking was a fine way to handle griefers and such. Unfortunately there's no recourse to protect yourself unless you can remember every username. I only remembered because I played with him literally the day before.

I enjoy hosting and helping players. Whenever the rare occasion that I have a troublesome team mate occurs, it makes me not want to open games but I usually resist the urge. Hopefully more protections get built in - I can acknowledge that probably isn't priority at the moment.

Thankfully it's not a huge issue as of right now.

Leeches generate with the cave, so if they're giving you the most trouble, you can just memorize their locations for the next run

If anything, that particular quirk makes them easier to deal with in EDD than normal missions

Stuff like spitballers and brood nexuses also generate based on the cave, but may or may not spawn depending on the number of players. They'll be in the same spot every run if you have the same player count

Yeah, I don't have much in the way of advice when it comes to grabbers and leeches, as frankly, they're usually not the 'problem' enemies for me in an EDD. But that said, it's certainly not rare at all for me to need to retry once or twice before beating all 3 stages

Make sure everyone is using their best perks, stick together (at least don't split up too far apart), and play classes to their strengths. The scout won't be good at clearing out tons of enemies quickly, but they're great at revives and making sure everyone can see what's going on. Engineer's turrets are fantastic at mopping up the little stuff. Driller should be making easy paths around the place. And gunner, well, the zip lines aren't as great as a traversal tool as a good drill path, but they're great for getting off the ground and out of (most) harm's way

EDDs a bit of a challenge even for folks who have every perk and overclock unlocked and available, and when you only have two players you are the target 50% of the time, and that goes to 100% if one of you goes down. You really have to play close to perfect, and even then you gotta get missions that are not too heavily stacked against you. Three dwarves are the minimum for me to have high confidence going into an EDD

Any escort is going to be a long mission, so those are naturally a little tougher even without modifiers. Shield Disruption and and Mactera Plague are my particular pain points for EDDs. They just throw so many dang mactera at you. You can mitigate the threats to some degree, but it's often pretty chaotic

Sync a Bluetooth controller to the phone. That's becoming more common as phones are becoming more powerful. I've tried it to test how well it all works with game streaming. It's functional, and will likely only get better, but I have a small phone and the small screen is not my preferred way to play anything

I can't say I hate it. It's a limitation, sure, but the alternative is significantly slower hotfixes when issues arise and likely slower updates.

The way things are allows the devs to play around with the Steam version, see what works, release as many hotfixes as needed to fix what doesn't work, and then put out a (mostly finalized) update on Microsoft platforms. If Steam had cross-play, everyone would be waiting for Microsoft certification every time a hotfix was needed. And if that hotfix broke something else or didn't fully fix the problem, everyone would be waiting for certification all over again. Certification can take anywhere from hours to days, so a simple quick fix for the Steam version which could literally take just minutes to make and release would now take at minimum several hours.

This is one of those problems where there is no perfect answer, because every choice has signficant consequences, but the current choice is at least a reasonable choice

Yep, Steam does not have cross-play, so you cannot do that with the Steam version. You can use the Microsoft Store version to do exactly what you are trying to do. And , because the Steam version and the Microsoft Store version save files are essentially the same, you can take your Steam progress and copy it over to the Microsoft Store version. It's exactly what you want to do, but requires you to own the Microsoft Store version and copy your save data

I know it works well between two Xbox consoles when set up as you described, but I'm not sure if it "just works" so smoothly when trying between an Xbox console and a PC. In my head, it should just work the same as between two consoles, but things are often not that simple. Either way, I haven't tried doing it, so I like to let people know that I know it does work and how it's supposed to work, but I don't have all the answers as I haven't done it myself.
Always happy to hear another confirmation, though. It seems like a very customer-friendly option and I appreciate customer-friendly options since there seems to be so few of those these days

I'm not sure if there's been any save issues since the devs fixed things up, and at least a few confirmations that the Restore Save stuff was working well when needed, so I was pretty confident you'd be okay. I just don't want to give people false hope if things don't work, because nothing is ever 100% and losing save data can really suck

Well, I'm terrible at learning other languages, but I'm guessing that's Portuguese? And I'm assuming it should be in Portuguese for you and that that's not the issue, so what does it say in the installation drive selection area? I can't read Portuguese, but I know a little Spanish and some words are similar enough to both Spanish and English, as well as I've seen that screen when installing games, so I can guess what a lot of it says, but I can't make out the drive selection area

Make sure Windows is updated, and there is a link to a Microsoft tool that might help, but it's in Portuguese and google refuses to translate it so I can't really tell you what it says or help you with it. It appears to be a link to a guide for using the System File Checker tool, which might help

Anyone regularly doing Haz 5 missions? We have a few people we play with but none super consistent so looking to add two more to the squad. We win more than we fail but fail enough and many missions get dicey. So can't totally carry, but welcome anyone who feels "comfortable" (relatively) playing it.

We are comfortable switching classes around a bit, but at our best with Gunner/Scout.

Edit: in Central US time, Missouri for purposes of server distance.

Bum simulator developers controller layout is a little terrible and they said remapping was not possible on unreal engine so I said deep rock galactic developers did it on unreal engine so I let them know to look at your guys remapping option on how you guys did it for inspiration

My point is, at face value it is unclear who #lfg-steam is primarily used by. If you don't change outfits often, I think you'll keep your cosmetic DLC when transferring saves and can get around buying the DLC twice that way

Sometimes it do be like that. I feel there's a random enemy spawn seed that rolls at the start of each match, like I've had games with a particularly high volume of wardens/spitters/Pretorians and Haz3 games with spawns that would make haz4 blush. I do love it too, having a bit of randomness to the enemy spawns keeps it nice and chaotic drillchamp

It really depends on a number of factors.

The updates first debut on Steam and any problems that arise from the update are hotfixed. Once the Steam version is fixed up enough to reasonably assume the major issues are handled, the update and all the fixes are rolled up into one update that gets tested for Xbox/Microsoft Store and then submitted to Microsoft for certification. The certification process can take anywhere from ~6 hours to days/weeks. Once it's certified the update begins getting rolled out to the servers that handle Xbox and the Microsoft Store updates (this usually only takes minutes to maybe about an hour from release to being available to download. If the update has been released and is not showing up as available for download, wait a few minutes and try rebooting your Xbox /PC).

Historically, the updates for Xbox/Microsoft Store version have frequently been released roughly 1 - 2 weeks after the Steam version is first updated (usually closer to 2 weeks), but it has occasionally taken longer.

Very strange. I would expect uninstalling and reinstalling to clean it up, but you could try going into Windows Settings, Apps, Deep Rock, Advanced Options, and trying the Repair and/or Reset options.
I would make a backup copy of your save data before doing that, just in case. The cloud saves should work fine, but a local backup never hurts

Highly unlikely. Q4 covers Oct-Dec, and it’s not that it’s that delayed. We’re pretty much still on track with the date we wanted in Q3, but it was so tight that if someone gets sick, it’s at risk. Now we can safely prepared for it - it might even mean that we can have the Windows/Xbox build ready closer to the Steam one, but no promises.

If you are the host, have everyone exit the game, check to make sure everyone's system time is set correctly (set to update time and time zone automatically), and then relaunch the game. I'm on XBOX One and my husband and I are very upset/discouraged.
Ages ago we bought the game on both of our Live accounts to play together.
It worked for a time.
But a year or so ago now I reported that he and I could see one another in the game but neither of us could join the other's game.
It was suggested that it was caused by us being on the same IP address (to DRG's servers).

We futzed around with our networks but to no avail. My husband became so frustrated that he dropped the game. I tried playing solo but even that can become boring after a while.
I just came back to the game.
We tried again.

Still no dice.

...any suggestions?? Anyone? Please?

We are on the same router, different networks and Xbox ones, decent internet connection across the board.
We can play Halo: MCC no problem. Even Borderlands 1 & 2 are working.
But not my beloved DRG.

Unlike a lot of games these days, DRG does not use servers, so playing together means one console connecting directly to another. This does not work in a straightforward, plug-and-play manner when both Xboxes are connected to the same router, as the console assumes it will be connecting to a console on a different network.

You may get things working by turning on UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on your router, as that is designed to allow the router to handle use cases such as yours, but this does not guarantee it will work. It may require additional configuration, like setting up static IP addresses and port forwarding, to make sure the consoles and router are all communicating in a way that allows DRG to work.

You could also try connecting one of the consoles to a separate router, if you have one available. This router would still need to be connected to the modem (or your main router if you're using a modem/router combo like the ones that ISPs often provide) so as to give your console an internet connection.

Either way, it sounds like you will need to make at least a change or two to your network to enable connectivity for peer-to-peer multiplayer games such as DRG.

It may say that in the Microsoft Store, because the Microsoft Store is not terribly well designed to handle things like Game Pass. If you have not purchased anything, but are using Game Pass, that only includes the base game. You can purchase the DLC separately if you like, and that will work with the base game

The Windows version does have people using mods unofficially (no official mod support in the Xbox or Windows versions), but I don't think I've seen anyone mentioning people are using mods on the console itself. The console is a closed ecosystem, so there is no way to install mods on it

Okay, this might not do anything since network config is still the main issue, but:

First, make sure the system time is set accurately on both consoles.

Then, exit DRG on both consoles if it's running, and relaunch the game on both consoles within a few minutes of each other. Wait until the game is fully loaded and you can run around the space rig on both consoles before trying to invite/join. DRG sessions become out-of-sync after running for a while (no specific time, as short as one mission or sometimes only after several hours) which makes them impossible to invite to or join with the options greyed out.

If that doesn't work, then reboot both consoles and try to invite/join, again only after launching the game within a few minutes of each other and only after waiting to be fully loaded into the space rig.

If that doesn't work, you should try inviting someone else to make sure inviting and joining are working. If you give me a heads up first, I can attempt to join and see if it works. At that point, if a random other person cannot join, there are also some account settings you can check (but I suspect those are okay if you're able to play other games online). If the account settings are correct and still no one can join, or if only a random other person can join, then I strongly suspect it's more network config problems.

On an individual stat, I could see it, but for overall stats it's just a measure of how much free time and disposable income someone has. Anyone who plays more games will have more points than you, making them completely arbitrary. And given that even with consoles having achievement guidelines for devs, large numbers of achievements are anything but. But I guess you can't have individual stat tracking without also overall tracking

From a quick search, Dolby Atmos on Windows appears to require an app from the Microsoft Store. Also, Dolby Atmos for Headphones is not free (although it looks like there's a 30-day free trial), but Dolby Atmos for Speakers looks like it's free.

So download the Dolby Atmos app if you haven't yet. If you have already and it's not working, you'll need to do more troubleshooting. I'd be surprised if the Dolby Atmos app didn't have a function to test your setup and make sure all of your speakers are working correctly. I'd start there. I've never tried Dolby Atmos since I don't have the hardware for it, but perhaps games need to be designed to use Dolby Atmos, so maybe it just won't work correctly for some games?

Perhaps it really does need to be implemented in the game itself, and that's why it doesn't work for DRG. I could see it being something like there's a plug-in that's needed when creating a game, and if you're not using the plug-in then there's no data generated for Dolby Atmos support
